Natalia wanted to go for a walk, but the fact that it was still cold kept her in the castle a lot more. Today she decided she was going to force herself outdoors and get some fresh air. Maybe she'd go tot he stable and see the horses. So much had happened his term and it was only February. Though with things looking up Nat couldn't help but smile a bit as she walked. Her mind thinking about if she should send an owl to try to get a jr counseling position in the summer.

It could be great fun, but she needed to focus on the band and her own singing and writing. She hadn't been paying attention and only stopped and looked around when she noticed someone on a swing. The girl looked a bit familiar so she knew she was a slytherin, but couldn't think of a name. Younger students were so much harder to remember their names.


Walking towards the swings she smiled, "Is this one taken?" Swinging sounded like a great idea all of the sudden.

Xavvie was getting a lot of air and she was almost beginning to wonder, since she happened to go to a magic school, that maybe there was something magical about this swing. Or maybe her legs were stronger now from climbing all those stairs back and forth for classes. She was thinking about trying a jump when an older girl came up. "Nope. The swings are great though, you should try it!" She was barely even feeling cold anymore, in fact.

Watching her for a bit Natalia couldn't help but smile at the innocents of a child like thing as a swing. She tried to remember the last time she had been to a park where there were swings and she really couldn't remember. She knew she had been to one at least once, but at the moment it just wasn't coming to her mind. So she walked towards the swing and sat down.


The other girl was going pretty high and Nat wasn't sure she wanted to do that, but for now she just swung lightly and close to the ground. Do you come and swing often?" She figured some people used the playground often, but she wasn't one of them. "Your a first year, aren't you?" Maybe second year, but Nat tried to use the best guess she could. "Did you go to playgrounds often at home?"

The pretty older girl sat on the swing beside her and Xavvie grinned with great enthusiasm. "We have swings at home, I have siblings that are younger than me so we use them a lot. Most of the time, my papa pushes us to get us higher." But, as she was very proud of, Xavvie was doing a great job of that herself.

But since she had a new friend to make and a pretty older girl to talk to, Xavvie decided to slow down her swinging to make for easier conversation. "I come here sometimes, it makes me think of home. Plus it's fun." She nodded to the question about being a first year, yep, she was! "What year are you in?"

Never having anyone to take her to the park when she was younger, Nat couldn't relate to what the girl was saying. She didn't even have the siblings to play with, which in her world was a good thing, but she smiled anyway. "I could push you if you wanted." Though she was swinging pretty high on her own. Nat kept with the lower swinging not needing to go high for any reason. She was just enjoying the small movements at the moment.

"Do you miss your home often?" She tried to think of how the would feel to really miss a home you lived in as a child. Though she in recent years would get homesick for her home with her dad, but it still was probably different then what normal homesick was. Her eyes back on the younger girl she smiled, "I'm a sixth year. I'm Nat." Which was probably something she should have said earlier.

Paul needed a walk out on the grounds. The fresh air would do him good, no? He had just been round to check on the crossbreeds, and the fire roses were so...flame-y the smoke made his lungs feel awful.

But here he was, smiling as he approached the playground.

Was he...too big for it?

Hmm...

Warmer temperature, fresh air, sun light.

Spring is coming.

After dealing with some creatures and grading the students' assignment, Jordan took a break by walking around the grounds still with a flask of coffee in his hand. He still had some works to do though, but a break doesn't sound bad huh? It's such a shame if he wasn't out to enjoy this beautiful day and burden himself with the paperwork and taking care of the creatures.

Walking passed the playground, the CoMC professor saw Paul Myers was standing there. "Reminiscing childhood memory, sir?" He casually asked. "Or missing someone in particular?

Taking a break from her studying and experiments, Tim headed outside towards the playground. The slight breeze in the air was nice and faint smell of rain passed her nose. Skipping to get there faster, the blonde sang to herself and passed by a curious crowd of younger years. She paid no mind to them and kept going on her merry way towards her destination. Once there, she claimed a free swing and sat down. She didn't feel like swinging much, just wanted to enjoy the view and feel at ease.

Alice and Diaval just happened to be walking by when Alice spotted her favorite older Gryffindor and HAD to run over. "Tim!" She shouted as she ran, The bird perching on the older girl's shoulder. "Whatcha doin?" She asked as she took a seat in the swing next to her friend.

Okay, this was new...this was weird. The third year was just minding his own business and making his way towards the tree house when he had spotted this playground. Bradson just walked around in a circle looking at the playground with his blue-green eyes. What was even going on here? Had this always been here? How had he not see this? Wow, his brain was starting to hurt. Too many questions! This wasn't classes this was just his brain trying to figure out how long this had been here.

Hmph. Brady didn't even know what to do first. Should he shout it out to the whole school that there was a playground or had they already known? He didn't like not knowing something like this for this long. He stood there with his hands on his hip and just stared at the playground.

Tim was enjoying the fresh air with her eyes closed and was now slightly swinging in her seat. She was too into her thoughts that she didn't hear someone call out to her, or felt her new friend settle onto her shoulder. It wasn't until the voice got closer, that Tim finally opened her eyes and looked around. She saw red haired coming her way and the weight of Dival on her shoulder. Turning to the bird, she grinned. "Hello, friend," she said and swung slower. Then she turned to Alice and grinned too. "Hey, you. Been busy lately?"

Alice was always happy for a friendly face but more than others it made her happy to see Tim's. Tim was the big sister she'd always wanted. Closer in age than her actual big sister.. and not constantly running off with some weird guy. "Not busy exactly.. Now i'm just hoping for distractions." She had been doing her best not to be sad lately.. "Nate and I broke up.." She shrugged and didn't wanna seem hurt or anything. It was a mutual thing and she just wanted things to be good between them.

"But like don't hate him or anything.. Nothing ugly happened. Promise." Because Gryffindor Girls could be hella defensive.

Tim adored Alice. As crazy and boy troubled the youngster was, the blonde secretly found it amusing at times. Like when Alice was stubborn; which was about 85% of the time. But hearing Alice's news today made the older girl frown. Whether nothing ugly happened or not, her adopted little sister was sad over a boy. Something a girl should never be. Unless that boy was Conrad because the boy was pure perfection. Still, Tim knew better than to pry into Alice's business.

"So you both agreed that the relationship wasn't working, right? Nothing else?" She asked, petting the bird on her shoulder.

Somehow - Rosalyn wasn't entirely sure how - she had managed to persuade her uncle to join her at the playground for a bit of fun on a lovely spring afternoon. Maybe it was out of his love for her, but at any rate she was happy for the opportunity to spend some time with him. Everything was much easier after Joy had helped make his knee problems better!

Beaming, she made her way over to the monkey bars, climbing atop them before hanging upside down.

The sun was quite nice on his skin. He had on his every-day wear - old man jeans, and a collared t-shirt. But it was most nice being here with Rosie. He let out a belly laugh at her when she hung upside down from the monkey bars. "Let me give that a go," he said, feeling his playful Gryffindor come out. He climbed up, put two hands on the first two bars, and swung out. When he went to transfer one hand to the next bar, he dropped to the ground, landing on his feet. "No, I don't think that will work," he said. "I can have a swing. I don't need any upper body strength to swing, do I?" he chuckled and went over to the swings.

Hehe. Rosalyn was in such a good mood! She debated whether or not she should tell her uncle why but decided that it was something that could wait until later. It was enough that he was feeling just as happy as she was!

From her upside down position, she watched him try to join her though he was having more difficulty. Maybe she should have just gone on the swings with him but she had wanted to try this out first and see if he would have just as much luck as her. Clearly not. "It's okay, Uncle Art. I can do the swings with you!" It would be fun too. They had a swing set at home when she was younger. It had been a tire swing and a lot of fun to play on even though her brothers hogged it at times. Sometimes it really HAD sucked to be the only girl. There were THREE of them!

As the blood started rushing to her head, Rosalyn righted herself before jumping off and joining him. "Oh, I really am!" Haha, monkey girl.

Art sat down on the swing and started to move, not going too high. He would take it slow because he wasn't sure how his gastrointestinal system would be, nor his heart. Little swings until he got used to it. Maybe then he'd flip all the way over.

"You really are. Always have been, too." Monkey girl in a swarm of boys. Must have been something in the Newton genes. The girls that got through were just that much more special.

"So, love, how are you? Things have been really busy for me this term, I did mean to come over and see you more. N-not to cramp your style, of course. Josephina would scold me if she found out I was doing such a thing." He grinned. He really missed his kids, but having Rosie here made such a big difference.

Inseperable. That was what they had been for quite a while now. Ever since they had worked things out, Rooney hadn't managed a day without seeing Olivia and it wasn't a bad thing at all. Today was no different - he had the blonde on his arm and was in the middle of telling her exactly how they were going to take on the playground and the swings and WIN WIN WIN. He was going on and on about how they could swing to cloud nine together and have a lovely picnic up there and good hugs and even chocolate covered strawberries.

This was much better; being able to share an activity with her uncle. One that Rosalyn knew that the man could actually take part in. This bonding time with her family had been sorely needed though she understood why it hadn't happened as much as they would have liked it to.

His comment caused her to laugh. "I do love to have fun and get up to mischief. Kind of have to when there are three older brothers in the picture." All this came naturally to her and she DID enjoy living at home with her siblings even if they could drive her nuts sometimes. Now she was living on her own and things were a lot more quiet but she had been totally fine with that. The last time she had lived with someone, things had ended badly anyway. No point in dwelling on THAT part of her past as it would just kill her good mood.

"Oh, I am wonderful, Uncle Art!" There was so much that Rosalyn could tell him but that would be a better conversation to have over tea, not in the playground. "How are you? I totally understand. You have a group of lions to look over." He WAS Head of House so it was natural that he would be quite busy. "I'm just glad that you are doing a lot better lately." She laughed. "You'd never cramp my style." She really DID miss her cousin! She missed all of them.

Olivia Phillips had been beyond depressed without her Rooney Bronwyn...to be honest. Never shall the two be parted again, but that wasn't likely to happen, anyway. They were everything these days. He was her person, and she was his. Done deal. Decided.

Head resting heavily against his shoulder as they walked towards the playground, Liv allowed his voice to soothe her mind. The Gryffindor had been a bit tired lately thanks to all the studying for examines, and then having to care for a hurt Rooney. It'd been a busy few weeks, basically.

Also, she adored his fantastical thought process. He was such a lovely, imaginative, beautiful Ravenclaw. "Rooney." Her tone was an amused one.

Art laughed and laughed. He saw this, all throughout Rosie and Josephina's childhood. "We Newtons are a very male dominated family, aren't we?" The girls they had were cherished. Not that the boys weren't, but it was nice to have a feminine touch amongst all the men.

"I'm glad to hear, Rosie, love." And he was. Very glad. "Oh I-I'm okay, much better now that I've got some tea and a different cream for my knees. I don't want up feeling a stiff and sore anymore. I can make it up from the dungeons to the Gryffindor common room without resting at every floor." It made him feel younger again, compared to the start of term. It was all a bit too much for a while there. He smiled fondly, "I do. They're a good bunch. They keep me busy, that's for sure." And he was immensely proud of them, but also of all the other students. He smiled over to Rosie, "I'm glad to hear that, my dear." He enjoyed some silence in her presence before remembering something...

But he didn't want to bring it up. He wasn't a nosy man, but he was interested in his niece's life.

Man oh man, Rooney was completely besotted with the blonde on his arm. But so he continued and continued and continued to grin at her and talk excitedly about cloud nine. CLOUD NINE WITH OLIVIA LYNN PHILLIPS, BRO. He led the way over to the swings and offered an extended hand. "Your choice, love." And whichever one she went for...he was going to get there first, aha! Oh the truly most exciting thing was stealing a swing from someone. Because then she'd give him a look and she'd look so wonderful and pretty, yes.

All Rosalyn could do was nod because that was a VERY true statement. "I have been around so many males throughout my life." Not that she was complaining because she did love her family even though there was a bit of a gender bias going on. They would just blame it on genetics.

While they talked, she slowly gained momentum, but never enough that she would leave her uncle behind. That would not be very nice at all. Besides she was perfectly happy going at a slower pace. "I run out of tea too much!" she said while shaking her head. It was okay though since she did order more. Besides she had an awesome uncle to share with her! "Well, that's very good. You're almost more fit than me." Okay, so she wasn't in bad shape but it could be tiring climbing all the way to the tower from her office! Fortunately she didn't have to do that frequently. "The students are all so lovely and welcoming. When I first came here I wasn't sure how much they would like me, but it seems that they really do!" At least on the most part. That made her happy since Rosalyn wanted to have a good relationship with her students. "You know I would never get tired of your company."

She noticed that he seemed to become thoughtful. "Something on your mind, Uncle Art?"

Traces of the laugh were still on his face when Rosie continued speaking about the men. "Well, we all adore you. You and Josephina bring something fresh to the many men around our family."

Art sensed that Rosie was holding back a bit on the swings. He was feeling good at the moment, so he put a little more oomph into his swinging and started going a little higher. "No, you can't run out of tea!" He didn't like that thought at all. "You know I have plenty if you ever need some more. We need our tea." He'd organise a few little sample teas to drop off to her office, he would. He chuckled and shook his head. "No, I do it slow and steady. Uncle Art was so sweet! Rosalyn did love him a lot. "And we adore you too! All of you guys even though there are so many of you." Honestly it could be crazy during family gatherings but she wouldn't have it any other way. Her family was amazing.

Seeing him going faster, she increased her speed as well while making sure that they remained in sync. "Oh, I am just going to keep asking for some of yours because it never lasts long enough." Maybe she would get a huge box of it during the summer and keep replenishing it... That sounded like a great idea to her! She made a mental note. "Well, I can definitely agree about that. It is nice to be able to explore Hogwarts again. Though I don't know about the Chamber of Secrets." There had been that article in the paper a few years back about Acromantulas taking two girls from there. Part of Rosalyn was still worried that something like that might happen again.

"They are wonderful! So nice to me. Even if they don't like the subject I teach." She wasn't in denial; it was obvious that most people weren't exactly crazy about history. It was okay. At least they were learning and she DID try to make her lessons as fun as possible. "When would I ever turn family away?" Uncle Art should know that without her having to tell him. He was being silly.

Rosalyn raised her brow, not sure if she should inquire further. Before she had the chance to make up her mind, he was asking her another question. "Everyone on staff is great though I am closer to some than others. Also doesn't hurt that I know a fair few from my school days."
