As you walk past Professor Hernandez's hut, you will notice that there is a huge barn sitting behind it. The barn itself is a home for some hippogriffs, winged horses, and other large creatures. In the middle of the barn there is plenty of open space which is perfect for taking some of the smaller creatures out of their pens to play. Professor Hernandez has provided buckets, gloves, boots, helmets, brushes, etc. for you to use. The students and other staffs are permitted to stop and interact with the creatures, but remember to sign up before coming in.

It had been a long Summer, and as much as Marsha Hanover loved being at home with her own horses, there was something perfect about finishing her morning training with an hour or so with the magical creatures in the barn before having breakfast and getting ready for school. Call her crazy, but she simply prefered to cool and calm down with them rather than the loud hustle and bustle of the Great Hall.
After finishing her first morning run, and refinding the hills and slopes or the ground that she loved to loathe, the tiny redhead had made her way back to the Barn. She had dropped Ana & Boom off last night, but she was desperate to see them and to make sure they had re-settled in all right. Not that they wouldn’t, this was their home after all… but that didn’t mean that she didn’t need to check on them. She loved them after all, and they were hers to look after.
Sighing as she looked over her shoulder at the Professor’s Hut, she wondered if he was like Professor Draper and her; a morning person and up before the light of dawn. She guessed she would find out sooner or later… Especially since she had to fill him in on all of her hard work thus far.
… She just had to hope he liked her as much as Javy and Draper did… She now depended on him for her OWLs.

After the first day of classes Natalia was needing some alone time in her favorite spot. So many new professors and so much anxiety. It just wasn't fair. Why did things change so much this term? So many male professors were new and she wasn't a fan. There was one good thing though her favorite place was still there and so was Apollo.
Making her way into the barn Nat looked around cautiously. New Professor was there she was going to turn around and leave. To her happy surprise there wasn't any professors just Sha, "Hey" Maybe Lily was around somewhere? Though she knew she'd meet up with her snuggle buddy later.
Moving in front of Apollo she smiled and pet the horse. "Did you miss me?" Of course he did. Grabbing some treats she started singing quietly to the horse like she always did.

Hadleigh had gotten herself into the habit of going for an early morning run everyday over the last year or so. This term she wasn't about to change that, only she was making sure to add one thing. A trip to the barn right after. That way she could give Sammie his breakfast and play with him a little bit before returning inside to go about her own day.
Entering the barn the teen made her way past each stable saying 'hello' to all the creatures as she passed them. Those close enough getting a pat or a gentle rub. Having finally reach the stable housing her crup she beamed at seeing him wide awake and already trying to jump up at her. A small laugh escaped her lips as she opened the stable and slipped inside careful, automatically kneeling down to Sammie's level. "How's my baby, hmm? I missed you Sammie," she laughed rubbing his head and receiving licks to her face. This went on for several moments before she rose to her feet again.
"How about some breakfast and then we play for a little bit?" Yes, she did speak to Sammie. All the time. A small playful yip was heard in agreement from her pet. Making her way around she got a small cupful of his special crup food and poured it into his bowl after making sure it was clean. While Sammie ate she then used her wand to clean out the water bowl and refill it with fresh water. She also went ahead and cleaned up anything in the stable that may have needed cleaning, like Sammie's bed or some spilled water.

This was exactly what she needed.
The new creatures' professor had been awake since a crack of dawn. Every morning he came to the barn to feed all the creatures there, clean the barn, and sometimes bathe some of them. So far he enjoyed being here, taking care of the creatures at Hogwarts and also teaching the students here. Jordan could see that so many students had interest in Magizoology field.

Hearing the sound of someone else entering the barn very quickly got Hady's attention. This was mostly due to the early morning hour otherwise she really wouldn't have cared who came in. Her hazel eyes sought out the person over the top of the stable door soon landing on Jordan. Her heart sank just a tiny bit at seeing the new Professor as she had grown very fond of Draper over the years however she already had some respect for this man. He had given her permission to keep Sammie there in the barn without even knowing...so for this reason alone right now she would get to know him.
"Morning Professor," she greeted softly removing Sammie's rubber ball from the pocket of hoodie and rolling it across the floor for him to get. "Thank you for allowing me to keep Sammie here during the term."

Singing to the horses she had been giving them treats and not paying much attention to anyone coming in. It was too early for other to join, so when a male voice had come through the silence Nat jumped almost into the stall with Apollo. Her eyes widened as she saw the man and moved a little away. "Sorry Sir... you... scared me." Seriously what was with the new professors? Why so many, where was the old ones?
"Oh just visiting. This is one of my go to spots when I need to clear my head or feeling anxious or stressed out. The horses seem to like the company." She liked taking care of them and flying them, but she wasn't sure what the rules were for the new guy. Maybe she'd get the courage to ask or maybe she'd just sneak a ride at some point. For now singing and petting them was good enough.
Winged horses. That's where she was headed when she entered the barn. She was very curious about magical creatures because Muggleborn witch here, ehem. Moving on. She did see a few magical creatures on her first trip to Diagon Alley but she's pretty sure the creatures that the Professor has here were much more FUN! And Big. And did she mention FUN?
And here she's. The winged horses stables. Just look at them. So pretty. She wondered whether its okay to pet them?

"I have some crup treats if you want to feed him." He offered to Hady. "It seems like you're doing a good job taking care of him. He looks healthy and happy."

Oh, she was well aware they weren't officially pegasi, that they were winged horses, but...honestly, what was a pegasus if not a winged horse? Was there some distinction that made them different? She was planning to ask Drapes that as well as try to bury the hatchet even more and see about helping out with them. But he left. She'll ask the new professor soon enough, but until then, there was nothing stopping her from playing with and spending time with them.
It looks like she wasn't the only with that idea. Another firstie? Had to be. Hadley didn't recognize her. She marched up to the stables and the girl, and smiled. "Beautiful, aren't they?" She was gonna try riding one with the professor's okay this term. Hads pulled two apples from her pocket and held one out for the girl. "Wanna try to feed one?"
Henry was distracted in his thoughts as he headed down towards the barn. He had spent some time in the magical creatures area the past couple terms when he could and he hoped to continue that trend. It did concern him slightly that there would be a new professor this year though. Not that he was exceptionally close to Draper or anything, but he had put in some extra work with taking care of the winged horses in the hopes that the man would help him learn how to fly them. Would he have to start that process over with a new guy?
He supposed it wouldn't be so bad if he did, Henry did enjoy the winged horses and even taking care of them, but he wasn't always so patient to have to repeat work. Walking into the barn, he headed straight to the winged horses and made a beeline towards his favorite, Fury. "Hey buddy," he grinned as he reached for a brush. "Have a good summer?"

Hady had asked mainly due to Sammie still being young and very active. Her baby siblings at home were beginning to crawl now and would be walking soon, getting themselves into everything. Leaving Sammie home with Luna and Lukas just wouldn't have been fair to her father and Katarina. Not to mention that Hagan her cat had been ill a bit over the summer. So she felt it best to ask for the crup to remain here this term where he would receive lots of love. "It's good for Sammie too, he'll have them to keep him company when I'm in my lessons." Two little friends to help him burn off some of that baby pup energy he had going on.
"Thank you Sir, I'm sure he would like that," she smiled selecting one of the treats and kneeling down on the floor. "Sit Sammie...sit," she coaxed speaking soft but firm and giving the sign for him to sit. "So I get that you often visit the barn to interact with the creatures, don't you?" He said. "I have been opening the barn for the students more, so they can interact with the creatures here." And maybe to add more creatures to the barn.
"So, Miss Lynch." Jordan asked her. "Do you by any chance have an interest to pursue your career in magizoology area?" Since she's already on her final year.

The animal or creatures needed to eat too. They couldn't feed themselves or go to the kitchen or great hall to get food. So since Katerina had signed up for the creature companions she figured she would come out at least one a week and feed them. She liked the chance to play with the creatures as well. Her parents still would not let her have a cruppy and let her bring it to school, just the cat and her puffy ball thing.... Pygmy puff. And the owl but it was Phillips owl. so that actually do not count. So she was hoping that if she had taken care of the creatures in the barn and had Professor Hernandez write her parents a letter of recommendation that would convince her parents to get her a cruppy.
Maybe....
Katerina had to stop by and see the winged horses. Even though she had that horse accident over the summer she still loved horses and riding them. And winged horses were also horses... with wings. So it was like one in the same. As she headed to them she seen Henry with them. "Hi Henry." She said with a smile, she always smiled when she seen him though, Hey she remembered that they had talked about seeing if the professor would let then ride the winged horses.Granted that was with Professor Daper., Professor Hernandez might let them. Maybe one day.

From her spot down on the ground where she was kneeling to pet her crup she nodded her head, dark hair falling into her face as she did. "I do professor. As often as I can I'm in here or in the yards with one of the animals." She had done that often last term taking the creatures out to let them run and play. Helping feed, give water and brushings or baths were her thing too. If she could help she would. "I think that's a good idea and you'll be amazed at how many students will drop in to visit."
Hady ended up sitting down when Sammie's attempts to climb into her lap nearly knocked her over. Laughing softly she allowed the crup to sit on her lap as she pet him. "Yes and no. I learn all I can about each creature in order to help care for them. My true passion is in healing. I want to be a healer for creatures." A small smile played across her lips as she spoke her eyes lifting from Sammie to Jordan. The more she learned the better.

Kids. Hadley cracked a lopsided smirk at the girl. She loved to be around kids and their excitement and wonder. Even though she had been that age a few years ago, and very much the same way, it still felt like a lifetime ago. She was growing up. "Hadley," she said as the horse in her stable, Apollo, took a bite of her apple. "Nice to meet you, Alyce. How are you liking Hogwarts so far?"

Her parents still would not let her have a cruppy and let her bring it to school, just the cat and her puffy ball thing.... Pygmy puff. And the owl but it was Phillips owl. so that actually do not count. So she was hoping that if she had taken care of the creatures in the barn and had Professor Hernandez write her parents a letter of recommendation that would convince her parents to get her a cruppy.

Katerina had to stop by and see the winged horses. Even though she had that horse accident over the summer she still loved horses and riding them. And winged horses were also horses... with wings. So it was like one in the same. As she headed to them she seen Henry with them. "Hi Henry." She said with a smile, she always smiled when she seen him though, Hey she remembered that they had talked about seeing if the professor would let then ride the winged horses.Granted that was with Professor Daper., Professor Hernandez might let them. Maybe one day.
Not that Henry expected Fury or any of the other winged horses to answer him, but he really did think that they liked the company of humans and being talked to. So he chattered on as he took the brush and began to comb out the horse's mane.
"My summer was pretty good.. really busy though, you know? But a good busy." What kind of summers did the animals in the barn have, he wondered. Did the groundskeeper or someone else live here all year that they were being taken care of? Maybe they got lonely with all the students gone.
He was somewhat lost in these thoughts as he continued brushing when he heard someone saying his name. Turning, he smiled when he saw Katerina. "Oh, hey Kat! Come to take care of the winged horses too?" Or maybe something else. There were other animals here too, though he often tended to fixate on the horses.

Looking up, she waved at Nat as she moved to talk to Ana and Boom. ”Morning Nat.” Just as Ana took up her usual mantle and spot in her hair, the Welsh girl looked over her shoulder to see the Professor. With a grin she waved to him and listened to his question. ”I’m here every morning.” She told him with a small shrug of her shoulder. The tiny fifteen year old motioned to the faeries in her hair. ”Have to see these guys every day.” And the rest… she had such a vested interest in these animals that she wasn’t sure how she would feel when she graduated in three years.
”I’ve been helping in the barn every morning since my first year.”I’m a fifth year… please don’t ask if this is my second year…. She thought silently, though really she was expecting the question due to her height. ”I worked with Professor Thomson and Professor Draper.” She decided to add quickly, to give him a helping hand on her year.

He didn't know if Hady's OWLs had fulfilled the requirement but the Creatures professor thought so.
After he had done feeding and taking care of the other crups, Jordan stood up and decided to feed the others. "It's nice to talk with you, Head Girl Lynch. I'm gonna feed the others first, but feel free to ask me if you need any assistance." Or maybe not, considering that she's quite familiar with the barn and stuffs.

She glanced back at the horses as the professor talked about her singing. She couldn't help but smile about it. "I sing to them all the time. They seem to enjoy it. Plus it helps me practice for my band." Not that he probably cared that she was in a band, but it was why she did it, that and she loved to sing, she always sang. Getting her nerves settled she stepped back towards Apollo so she could brush him and give him a few more treats.
Listening to Sha she smiled, "Do you stop here after your training runs?" She had went to a few of her races over summer and was super proud of her friends.
Looking back at the professor she felt her cheeks go read. Five points just for singing? That was... wow, she wasn't expecting that. "Thank you professor. If you need any help in that stall I could help you." She'd be happy to help a little more. "Winged horses are my favorite and I might want to be a trainer for them if singing doesn't pan out."
Kids. Hadley cracked a lopsided smirk at the girl. She loved to be around kids and their excitement and wonder. Even though she had been that age a few years ago, and very much the same way, it still felt like a lifetime ago. She was growing up. And yet, there was still a seven year old mentality lurking in her head, left over from a potions mishap last year, that easily shared the younger girl's wonder and excitement.
"I believe we can feed them, yeah," she said. "But just in case we're not, it'll be our secret, okay?" Hads gave her a wink and leaned over the stable railing, holding out the apple for the pegasus. "Hadley," she said as the horse in her stable, Apollo, took a bite of her apple. "Nice to meet you, Alyce. How are you liking Hogwarts so far?"
She couldn't contain her excitement after the older girl said feeding the winged horses. Its like her dreams come true. One of her dreams definitely come true. Meeting with Winged Horses. And the second dreams that's about to become reality is feeding the WINGED HORSES!
Secret? She's good with secrety stuffs. So yes she could definitely keep this as their little secret. The red hair nodded excitedly. "Nice to meet you too, Hadley." Very nice indeed. Interesting career choice? Was it really? It was taking two of her favorite things in life, creatures and healing and combining them. "I know Sir, I've already worked alongside one for the summer. It's what I've always wanted to do." It didn't matter what else she might be good at because she had decided years ago this is where her heart truly lie. She'd make it happen even if it took tens of years to accomplish.
"It's been nice speaking with you too professor and I certainly will do that," Hady replied with a small nod watching the man move on to feed some of the other creatures. Chances were she'd have at least a couple more questions for him throughout the year. This being her final year there was a lot on her mind and she wanted to make sure she was doing everything right.

It really wasn't that hard to take care of the creatures here really. The third year did enjoy it, taking care of animals, of all kinds. She watched Henry for a moment as he talked to the winged horses and brushed them. Feeding some of the other winged horses around.
Moving over the one he was brushing she gave it a carrot. Smiling up at him, "Yeah, I've been feeding all of them really, I just visited with the Hippogriffs and the Nifflers." Petting the winged horse on the nose. "What are you doing?" Did he sign up to take care of the animals, too. Maybe they could work together sometime.

Hadley smiled to herself. The first year girl was adorable. "Honestly, I don't know." She hadn't figured out how to ask them yet. "But this one seems to like his." She turned to the girl, and grinned, holding out the other apple for her to take. "Your turn. Pick a Pegasus," because she was never not going to call them that, "and just hold out the apple for him or her to eat." Easy peasy.
"I was thinking of trying to ride one later." She grinned wider, knowing how the girl would react to that, and let the silence linger a bit. Gotta have some fun with the kid. Then finally, "want to join me?"
