ERR...
I'm not entirely sure if I have an accent anymore. Well, I'm Mexican...and speak English (since I live in America) but I dropped the Spanish accent when I was little because I was made fun of in school mercilessly. Does that make any sense? HMMM.

Kiwi (New Zealand) accent. I used to have a really thick Filipino accent up until 7th grade when I started hanging out with this guy who knew no Filipino, so I got a passable American accent. Then we moved to NZ and everyone thought I came from America, but I adapted the New Zealand accent right way.
Fush and chups!

I live in upstate New York, near Rochester. Since I don't really know how to describe a Rochester accent, I'll let Wikipedia do it for me: Quote:
A "Rochester accent" can be described as a form of Inland Northern American English, like a "Chicago accent" or a "Detroit accent". It has also been described as "nasally", most easily recognized by the vocalization of the short "a" (ć) sound: "and" is delivered as something closer to "i-uhnd" ([ˈɪənd]).
It is often described as including the pronunciation of the city itself as "Rach'str" ([ˈɹatʃ.stɚ]) or describing something as "faen-teas-tic."

I feel your pain. When I left Boston, I was teased a lot about my accent. I just teased right back.

Okay I was looking through here and i saw people saying they sound American, well thats kinda impossible unless you chose a specific kind of section through the US. Like I'm from Wisconsin, where we have a Wisconsin or Mid-west accent because we make words like slurr together like say you are going to tell your friend,"I'm going to the store" we'd say,"Imgointathestore." Or like,"What are you doing that for"and we say,"Watchyadointhatfor." Its funny cuz it all goes together and its like one word.

I guess I have a Pittsburgeese accent. I'm not as bad as some people though. I've occasionaly spoken with a Brittish accent because of our current play (Alice in Wonderland)/ my obsession of Sweeney Todd.

Yorkshire! (UK)
Most people think of Yorkshire accets as a 'common' British accent but its really not. Just cause were not posh.
And no American people, I dont talk like most Americans think all British people. To be honest I think its only the queen who is acctually that posh. Im not pst at all!
No being offensive to Amercans at all btw.
I love America. Ive been 5 times!

I actually can have a pretty good accent from everywhere. I can do a good southern American accent, an Ohioian accent and a Pennsylvania dutch accent mainly because I've been there throughout my life. I also can do a pretty good British accent and a good french and spanish accent if I speak the language. I also have a slight Purto Rican accent with some words do to my high school musical last year, I had to play a purto rican girl. So yeah, I can do a lot of different accents even if I haven't left the USA.

I don't think I have an accent. And if I do, it's not strong enough for anyone to ever mention it.

With me being from Nottinghamshire in England, mine is a midlands accent. Within England, most people can't notice my accent save a few words (e.g bath and grass), however, when with family, I do slip into Brum and Manc.

With me hailing from New Jersey, I have been told that i have a strong "Joisey accent".
As described by wikipedia: Quote:
The accent of Philadelphia and nearby parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland, is probably the original ancestor of General American. It is one of the few coastal accents that is rhotic, and one of the first to merge the historical [oɹ] of hoarse, mourning with the [ɔɹ] of horse, morning. It also maintains the cot-caught contrast, unlike New England and western Pennsylvania. Nevertheless there are differences between modern Philadelphia speech and General American, some of which will be outlined here.
* "Water" is sometimes pronounced /wʊdɚ/, that is, with the vowel of wood
* As in New York English/New Jersey English, but unlike General American, words like orange, horrible, etc., are pronounced with [-ɑɹ-]. See English-language vowel changes before historic r: "Tory-torrent merger"
