2013: Meet SilverTiger

Hey there!
First off, just to get this established, that smilie amuses me to no end. It just has so much more personality that the simple smilie, so I try to use it whenever possible. Anyway, welcome to the lovely site that is SnitchSeeker, or more accurately, the family that is SnitchSeeker. My name is Kristin, and I’m the lucky mod who gets to meet all of you this month. (because don’t be fooled, this isn’t a one-way thing at all. And I really do want to meet all of you, you just get to learn a lot more about me than otherwise right now.)

I’ve been a member here since December 2007, so a few months longer than five years currently, and a moderator on site for the last couple of years (I’d guess), starting as a School Staff member in the Hogwarts RPG and then moving to moderating Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, the games and trivia forum her on SS, as well as a bit of moderating in the Fan Clubs. Aside from that, things aren’t really that interesting here. In real life, I’m just a simple college graduate (I received a degree in art history before I joined SS, honestly. So yes, I’m probably older than most of you. Just to get that established as well.) who works retail and also does a bit of editing work on the side to try to break even. I have a cat named Hermione, and other than that, my life is rather unexciting. Aside from everything I get to do here.

Calling me an RP addict really isn’t hyperbole. Currently I play Kendall Lily Quinn, sixth year Irish metamorphmagus artist and Ravenclaw, in the Hogwarts RPG; Dorian Tamerlane, CMEC chief supervisor (basically a division head in the MLE, if division heads still existed) and Scotsman, in the Ministry RPG; and Aliceara Ravenswood, former actress/model and current shopkeeper of Madame Malkin’s, in the Diagon Alley RPG. But aside from that I’ve had five other characters in the school RPG here on SS, plus you probably don’t want to know how many others via the myriad of RPs and RPG sites I have been and still am a member of.

Other than that, I’m a bit of a Shakespeare and mythology nerd, as well as someone who has somewhat of a bizarre memory for pop culture trivia. I have an extensive list of favorite tv shows (starting with just about anything that Joss Whedon has created), movies and books. In fact, don’t even bother asking me if I have a favorite. I can’t choose. I love them all. I’ve dabbled in a lot of different c rafts, photography, painting, drawing, graphics here on SS (I have a shop)… if it’s creative I tend to gravitate toward it.

In any case, I don’t want to tell you everything at once. I want to give you guys a chance to ask questions. Really. Ask away.

Hello! Welcome to SS (and you’re awesome because of question 2. )

1. Honestly, I think most of them are actually pretty accurate, so I don’t know what they could be changed to that would retain that. The only one that would be kind of obvious is changing Ravenclaw’s eagle to a raven, and that isn’t necessarily original. I don’t know.
2. Definite thumbs up. I seriously love that episode, and I own the soundtrack and the script/sheet music. Okay, I probably own almost every script book/other book that has come out related to that show. And Angel. And I have them all on DVD. I’ve pretty much gotten every song memorized.

Hey there! That’s a good question. I can’t actually say I’ve been to any other than my own, but high on my list of countries I’d like to go to are England, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy. The first three because of the lore, and the last two because of the art.

Welcome back. Looks like you’ll be the last questions of the thread, too, so lucky you.

1. The honest story? My best friend found Harry Potter first, read the books and then showed me, I think it was the movie version of PoA once when I was at her house. That got me interested enough to see the other movies as well, but I didn’t pick up the books until shortly before HBP (thebook) was published. The same best friend had lent me the first three books, and I’d like what I’d read of SS to buy them for myself. Starting with HBP and then backtracking to get the rest of the series. And now, I might actually be even more of a fan than she is.

2. I do like Disney, ever since I was little, but I don’t know that I have a favorite film. It’s hard for me to pick.

3. Same as the answer to the previous question, at least sort of. I like a lot of music. My iPod goes from Queen, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie (and the Beatles, courtesy of the soundtrack to Across the Universe) to artists ranging from Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, OneRepublic, Paramore, Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, Evanescence, We Are The Fallen, Christina Perri, Ellie Goulding, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, the Killers, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars… I have a lot of music. That’s not even half of it.
