2013: Meet SilverTiger

Hey there!
First off, just to get this established, that smilie amuses me to no end. It just has so much more personality that the simple smilie, so I try to use it whenever possible. Anyway, welcome to the lovely site that is SnitchSeeker, or more accurately, the family that is SnitchSeeker. My name is Kristin, and I’m the lucky mod who gets to meet all of you this month. (because don’t be fooled, this isn’t a one-way thing at all. And I really do want to meet all of you, you just get to learn a lot more about me than otherwise right now.)

I’ve been a member here since December 2007, so a few months longer than five years currently, and a moderator on site for the last couple of years (I’d guess), starting as a School Staff member in the Hogwarts RPG and then moving to moderating Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, the games and trivia forum her on SS, as well as a bit of moderating in the Fan Clubs. Aside from that, things aren’t really that interesting here. In real life, I’m just a simple college graduate (I received a degree in art history before I joined SS, honestly. So yes, I’m probably older than most of you. Just to get that established as well.) who works retail and also does a bit of editing work on the side to try to break even. I have a cat named Hermione, and other than that, my life is rather unexciting. Aside from everything I get to do here.

Calling me an RP addict really isn’t hyperbole. Currently I play Kendall Lily Quinn, sixth year Irish metamorphmagus artist and Ravenclaw, in the Hogwarts RPG; Dorian Tamerlane, CMEC chief supervisor (basically a division head in the MLE, if division heads still existed) and Scotsman, in the Ministry RPG; and Aliceara Ravenswood, former actress/model and current shopkeeper of Madame Malkin’s, in the Diagon Alley RPG. But aside from that I’ve had five other characters in the school RPG here on SS, plus you probably don’t want to know how many others via the myriad of RPs and RPG sites I have been and still am a member of.

Other than that, I’m a bit of a Shakespeare and mythology nerd, as well as someone who has somewhat of a bizarre memory for pop culture trivia. I have an extensive list of favorite tv shows (starting with just about anything that Joss Whedon has created), movies and books. In fact, don’t even bother asking me if I have a favorite. I can’t choose. I love them all. I’ve dabbled in a lot of different c rafts, photography, painting, drawing, graphics here on SS (I have a shop)… if it’s creative I tend to gravitate toward it.

In any case, I don’t want to tell you everything at once. I want to give you guys a chance to ask questions. Really. Ask away.

1. Actually, through Jess (PhoenixRising). we both were members of another HP site, and she told me to join. (Although I didn't end up a Puff like she wanted me to. )
2. I honestly have no idea. Kendall is pretty loud in my head most of the time lately, but a few others like to annoy me as well. She's just the most interesting because of her odd ideas and figuring out her mood ring hair.
3. well I'm currently reading Les Mis. But I also enjoy the Mortal Instruments series, and you can always look here for ideas as well.
4. haha Now that's the interesting one. I consider myself a bit of a Slytherclaw, personally, although most Facebook sorting quizzes have put me as a Gryffindor, and Pottermore decided I was a Hufflepuff. (Jess finally got her wish, just not here on SS. )

1. Don’t hurt me, but I actually sort of ship Harry/Ginny. And Lupin/Tonks. (I died in DH when they died and Teddy was orphaned. Like seriously.)
2. If I went to Hogwarts… I think I would have ended up being friends with Luna, probably amused by Seamus and the twins, and would have disliked Crabbe and Goyle. I don’t want to say enemies, and I’m not counting Draco in there because I think he really straightened himself out in the end, just I really think they would have been better off if they had thought for themselves and ultimately made better decisions.

1. I have not. As of yet. (This was totally discussed onTwitter today, too. *eyes Steeley*) I’v e been a Claw ever since I first was sorted. But no matter what, I’ll always personally be an SS Claw.
2. Current or at all? Currently I like Glee My next SS charrie is going to reflect that, Castle, Lost Girl, OUAT, Merlin, True Blood… Of all time, probably Buffy, Angel and Firefly. Followed by Heroes and LOST.
3. Berries. Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries…

Yep. A Slytherclaw. (Raverin just doesn’t sound right. )
Honestly, it really is sort of a blurred line thing. I identify with the intelligence of a Claw, but I also can be rather sarcastic and shifty. Which might be considered more of a Slythie trait (or two.)

Of ALL the charries? I personally still love Rhiannon, just because she was my first ever RP charrie that wasn’t essentially just myself in character form (and I feel bad for everything I’ve put her through). But I’ve also loved Adrienne, just because she allowed me to get my show obsession out, Grayson (because she was just so crazy and I never really knew what she’d do next), Professor Bishop (I loved RPing her with Maxie/Professor Descoteaux, because he brought out the lighter side to her, and then her helping Selina), and I love Stella and Kendall (and actually my charrie after Kendall as well). I guess long story short is that I don’t have a favorite character.

LOL hi Raven And it doesn't seem like that question needs an answer.

1. I can, sort of. Enough to be able to survive, and for the most part lately I’ve been learning more. Nothing too complicated though, yet.
2. Currently, (literally, as it’s in my head RIGHT NOW) “All Fall Down” by OneRepublic. It played at work today, and decided to come back in my head now.
3. Of the WWW games? Probably the Person Above/Below/Above and Below Me game, just because it’s interesting to see what people can guess, and try to think of guesses myself.
4. Glasses. I’ve had them since I was around 12 or 13, and I have a weird aversion to putting anything near my eyes anyway. (I rarely even wear mascara, because I spastically blink when I try to put it on. )
4.(did you mean 5?) Coffee. Especially mochas, caramel macchiatos, and a salted caramel latte that the coffee shop near my work has had lately. I just never developed a liking for tea.
5. (maybe 6 xD) I love the creativity. I mean, it’s also just an outlet for parts of myself that might not be known IRL, but mostly it’s the creativity. Getting to write out the thoughts, feelings and just lives of characters that I know I created. And you don’t know anywhere near how many characters I have, if you’re just using here, Ambleside, and my own site (btw, I actually have a few sites, or at least am a moderator/admin on a few. ) as your basis. *hugs anyway*

You actually want me to try and remember something from then? Because I don’t, but I can always tell you a story I’ve been told from when I was really little. Like, still in a high chair little.

Apparently I was sitting there, eating dinner or something, and completely just randomly burst out singing the chorus of “American Pie” I was a weird kid. Completely skipped over the normal children’s songs and instead knew the words to classic rock.

Being asked questions I can’t answer. People assuming that because I’ve lived my entire life in southern California that I love hot weather… so, I guess that would be stereotypes? Also, being told that I’m acting one way when I’m not. (This happened to me at work once. I was terrified I was going to get fired, and was told that I was laughing at the situation and not taking it seriously.)

1. I don’t watch Sherlock (I’m not sure it’s been aired here yet? Haven’t ran across it on BBC America yet), but I’ve watched Doctor Who at least off and on since Christopher Eccleston. (Yes, I’m a Rose/Ten shipper. And I cried when Amelia and Rory “left” Won’t say more/the truth about that. And I love that Oswin/Clara is the new companion.)
2. Almost five months past five years. Joined December 28, 2007.
3. Probably Lucius. I have fun teasing him. (As in, calling him Lucy, etc.) Plus, I kinda love Jason Isaacs. He plays roles like that so well.

Hey there. Before I answer the question, I just wanted to let you know that (I don't know if it was intentional or an accident, but) double posting is against the rules. Just a warning though, and I deleted the extra post.

And now to your question. I think I'm going to assume that you're referring to canon Hogwarts professors, and not SS ones. But anyway, I think it's a tie between Professor McGonagall and Professor Lupin. We didn't really get to see a lot of the former's lessons, but I think they'd be awfully interesting even if she herself seems strict, and of all the DADA professors (Moody notwithstanding as he wasn't actually Moody when he taught), I think Lupin was the one who really tried to teach the students the practical applications, and we know he understood the reason why the subject is an important one.

My favorite character (or characters) from the entire series, hmm? Probably Lupin, Moody (the real one), Luna and Hagrid. The first two because they were actually in their own ways, good role models for Harry and even others, Luna because she really is her own person no matter how much people try to convince her that she’s wrong/crazy/etc., and Hagrid because he is just so huggable and protective in a way.

You’re welcome, and welcome to SS. First off, be careful not to double post, as it is frowned upon here on site, but other than that…

1. Naughty person? Are you inferring “baddie” or just generally a rule-breaker or whatever? I answered the first one already (Lucius) and regarding an answer to the second, I think it’s a tie between Seamus and the twins. Especially Seamus in the movies, with all his accidental explosions and such, and then I think it’s hard not to love Fred and George.

2. If I could be in any house… for a long time, I probably would have said Gryffindor, but honestly, I think I’d say Ravenclaw. They are just as dynamic as the Lions, but they aren’t quite as obvious with it. Which is really quite awesome.

3. My favorite ships are probably Harry/Ginny (just because I was with most people when I read the books for the first time, and wanted them to get together. Also, Lupin/Tonks. She fought for that relationship no matter how hard he tried to convince her it wasn’t worth it, and it was tragic how they ended up not really being able to enjoy it all, and being parents, once they finally got together.
