Hello everyone! Welcome to my meet and greet thread! My name is Lissy, and I've been a member of SS for almost ELEVEN years. I know. I'm super old.

OK, I'm really not THAT old. I'm a recent college graduate and I'm currently working as a substitute teacher, taking odd jobs here and there while I look for a permanent teaching position. When I'm not on SS I'm probably hanging out with my dog, Shenzi (Shenzi, for your information, is the hyena from "The Lion King" and yes my dog looks like a hyena which is why I named her that ) or watching my beloved Chicago White Sox on TV. I'm also addicted to TV shows. I just started Game of Thrones, and also love Shameless, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, and The Tudors.

Here on SS I've done a multitude of odd jobs as well. I've been Prefect, Head Boy (even though I'm a girl! IDK I just always play boy charries haha) Quidditch Captain, Divination Professor, Department Head, and moderator for a few forums. Right now my pride and joy is the Madame Malkins forum, where all our graphic shops are run. Not gonna lie, it's basically a dream come true getting the honor to moderate that area!

Some other random facts about me - I love Starbucks and I have a really strange addiction to bagels. I have a huge celebrity crush on BJ Novak and I GOT TO MEET HIM LAST MONTH!!! I have three tattoos, including a Lord of the Rings quote by Gandalf. I'm obsessed with any and all things Disney, as well as superhero movies, specifically the Marvel movies. I could gush about Loki all day long even though he's a villain

And of course, my favorite Harry Potter character is, SURPRISE SURPRISE - Neville Longbottom. I've had a huge fangirl crush on him and Matt Lewis for like 8 years now and I don't think I'll ever stop loving him and Matt, as they are two separate people

My Lissy is the "Meet the Mod" for April! You know what this means, right? It means I must basically live in this thread and ask an endless amount of questions until midnight on the last day of April.

So, here's the first five!

1. If you could give a Golden Globe award to any ONE movie past or present, which movie would that be?
2. Same question but for a television show.
3. Which Disney ride could you get on over and over again and never get tired of?
4. If you could get an all expenses paid vacation to anywhere in the world, where would that be?

OOOOOOH ok hm lemme think:

1. I'd give a Golden Globe for best musical/comedy to "That Thing You Do" It's one of my ALL TIME favorite movies and SOOOOO GOOOOOOD, I never get tired of it

2. Probably Shameless. Everyone on that show is such a good actor and they blow me away with every episode

3. Does EVERY ride count as an answer? haha but probably Splash Mountain. Or the Tomorrowland People Mover because it's just so nice and relaxing and perfect if you just need a break from walking around

4. Europe. All of Europe.

5. OH WOW thats hard haha. I have THREE - either Aurora, Rapunzel, or Charlotte La Bouff from The Princess and the Frog haha

1. The perfect wand? HMMM. I remember I took the wand thing on Pottermore and I think I got an Oak wand and a Phoenix Feather core? We'll go with that haha.

4. Hmm that's a tough one. I kind of wish we all lived with less technology and stuff, the fact that I have to remind my kids to capitalize I when writing papers because their iPhone DOES IT FOR THEM really makes me sadddd

1. History! But I can teach any social science, so psychology, sociology, politics, geography, ETC.

2. Oh man. I love all my charries for different reasons. Cale will always hold a special spot in my heart, since he was my first character that I really got into and I ended up bringing him back now for DH, but I do REALLY love Caleb haha. He's turning into such an awesome little snake.

I also love Gabi and Nolan. They're awesome and definitely in my top favs.

3. I don't usually chew bubble gum? BUT when I do I usually like peppermint flavored gum because I'm a sucker for peppermint stuff haha

1. Hmm, I have a lot of them. Right now I'm trying to read the Game of Thrones series which is quite a mammoth task but I like it so far! I'm also really big on "The Last Apprentice" series (I think it's called something else in the UK?) because they're quick and easy reads but interesting and all about mythical creatures and such. My all-time FAVORITE books though are the LotR series!

2. Anything that is a sort of chocolate cake/brownie type of thing If it has peanut butter that's even BETTER

3. I think of myself a lot in terms of the Disney princesses? haha I think I'm a lot like Sleeping Beauty because I'm just very optimistic and happy, and also like Rapunzel from Tangled because I have like five thousand different hobbies I enjoy

1. Back in the day I believe they called it "ska" haha but it's since sort of turned into alternative/pop/I don't even know what anymore I really do listen to anything as long as it's not straight up RAP. Hip hop = yes but just talking to a beat = nope.

I graduated with a History degree, but I'm certified to teach all subjects in the social sciences

Basically I LOVE history and I love teaching people about history. I want kids to understand why it's important to study the social sciences and actually LEARN from history's mistakes and see how they are still impacting our society!

Which of the HP characters would be able to survive in the Muggle world? actually frankly, how do you think the main characters would do in the muggle world. You can include Harry and Hermione, but since they already have experience it's not as much fun.

The roleplay is DEFINITELY my favorite part, along with the Madame Malkin's graphics forum

My advice would be to just try and get involved in any way you can! Post yourself and approach others, and don't be afraid to ask people to get involved in RPs with you! Everyone is SUPER nice and unless they're busy offline they're usually very welcoming and want to help new players! Also don't get discouraged if you aren't noticed RIGHT away - sometimes people get so into their own RPs that they don't notice other people sometimes haha

HMMM that's a good question! I think out of all of them, Ginny would do the best because she's sensible and doesn't just JUMP into things. She probably already knows a bit about the muggle world because of her dad, but I could see Ron and her siblings getting super frustrated right away if they didn't know how something worked, whereas she'd take her time learning how things operated

Luna I imagine would act a lot like Ariel from The Little Mermaid in the muggle world - thinking things do one thing when really they don't haha. And Neville...he'd be the one who'd get the copier jammed and end up making the problem worse by trying to fix it haha.

I'm very plain haha. Wheat bagel with reduced fat cream cheese. But extra cream cheese - it's reduced fat so why not haha

Well Black Widow is always awesome - I love Scar Jo and she's basically like Tomb Raider but she gets to hang out with superheros all day which I love. But I also really like Lorna Dane, aka Polaris, who is one of the X-Men and daughter of Magneto. I love his powers but she's with the good guys (most of the time haha) so it's like the best of both worlds ALSO GREEN HAIR
