Hi SS! I'm Jeremie (AmbiguouslyMe) and I'm one of your Mods of the Month for November!
Right now, I play Professor Preston Kingsley, the Transfiguration Professor in our school role play. I also write for the Daily Prophet and moderate in the fan fiction forums.
I have previously played quidditch in the school, been a Department Head and a Division Head in the Ministry RP and can (very) occasionally be heard on Potterwatch.
Outside of my RP responsibilities, I love to travel, read, write, knit and sing. Right now, I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month with a bunch of other SS'rs. I live in Boston and work with high schoolers doing leadership development. I grew up in New York and moved out here for graduate school and stuck around once I finished.
So, feel free to ask questions here, and make sure to follow SS and Platform 9 3/4's rules!
Ability is nothing without Opportunity | | Creativity is Intelligence having FUN
I'm curious... why Colin Firth as Preston Kingsley? (which btw, how you RP him, is perfect selection, i cant totally hear him in my head reading your post )

Hi Bridget! I joined SS in the summer of 2009, so a little over a year, now. And thanks.

Favorite candy? Goodness. I have an unusual fondness for peanut butter m&ms, especially if they're frozen. On the non-chocolate side, gummy worms, for sure.

Truth be told? During my first term in the school RPG, I was watching Firth's Pride and Prejudice and said to myself 'I MUST use him for someone.' So when I got staffed, I started thinking about what kind of prof I wanted to play and the two just fit together so well.

Hello Jeremy, it's a pleasure to meet you. I wrote you one other time to make certain a scene I wrote for my ff would be allowed. I appreciate your hard work on SS, and I think this:

is wonderful. Our country needs more people like you providing the service you do. I love the world we live in and I think it is people like you doing what you do, that will bring about a change for the good all around the world.
So you enjoy singing. What kind of singing do you do? Church, around the house, shower ...? What kinds of songs do you sing?
Anyway...question...you've traveled...which planet would you like to travel to and why?
Planet? Oh goodness. Hm. I think I would want to visit Mars. I'm not sure why, necessarily, but it seems a good choice.

Thank you for your service.
Gosh, thank you! I really enjoy my job which makes it that much better.
As for singing, I was a soloist for our chapel choir in college and now it's mostly just around the house. I'm looking to join a choir again, but I had some trouble with my voice a few years back and I'm not back up to shape quite yet.

So.. I was reading other posts, and I had a dream last night about gummy worms..Weird, right? And I SO knew you knit. *beams*
Anyways, mah question.
What's your first three favorite colors in order from most favorite to lesser favorite but still awesome.?
Oo. This is a great question. I say that, because my #1 favorite seems to change all the time. So I was thinking about your question and lo and behold, the three that rotate into #1 were my answers.
Purple
Blue
Red
And then I realized that they are 'related' so I think it depends on whether I'm in a red mood or a blue mood or a neutral mood which gets up there. So, hey, simple question got me thinking.

Hey there Jeremie I like those Meeting mods threads *excited*
So0o0o0o0o, my Qs:
1. How close is your personality to that of your charrie? A percentage would do
2. How many people were affected by you and became HP-addicts?
That'll do for tonight! Beware, I might come back with as reasonable Qs as those soon
Buh-bye.

Ooo!
1) Me and Preston? 10% Five of that is his unwavering devotion to the people that mean the most to him and five of that is the way he thinks through concepts. The rest of it? Nah. I wish I could claim that I have similarly snappy comebacks, but those are all him.
Now, those people that knew my Tiberius... he and I were much more alike.
2) I will admit that I didn't start reading the books until I saw the first movie. THEN, I devoured them. I don't know that I've sold anyone on the franchise, but I fully, fully intend to be Uncle Harry Potter when my nephew is old enough to get into the books.
More questions? Bring them on!

Now, the real question...where do you want to travel to that you have not visited yet?
Aw, Treyen. *pats*
Rome. 100%, Rome. There are.... very vague plans in the works to get there.
There are a few areas of the US that I haven't seen - not sure what my state count is at - notably the Southwest, the Pacific Northwest and the Dakotas/Montana -ish sort of area. But I have trips for almost all of those coming up for work in the next 12-18 months. Oh, and Hawaii and Alaska. Got to get there.
True facts - While I traveled a lot while in school, it was always nationally. I do not have a passport and haven't traveled internationally at all.

I knewwww it! I did I did! The purple, at least.
Uhm...
What did/do you wanna be when you grow up.? That's two questions. In one.

1. Hawaii, I recommend.
2. Get a passport and let's all go international! (never mind me)
I dooo have another question, though I'm certain I have asked this in the past...not sure...I have awful memory...what's your favorite knitting pattern, Dumbledore? your username...why did you choose it?
Browncoat l Extra Syrup l Kita's Strong Confident Other Half l Lemon Patch
I would say this was a random question....but can a question really be random in this thread? HMM.
Anywhooo.
What is your favorite creatures rule over/kill/eat humans movie? confusing question? Maybe.

Hello,
I'm brand new
I was just wondering, do you have any suggestions on what I should do first before I really start to get into this website?
xoxo Abby (:
What did/do you wanna be when you grow up.? That's two questions. In one.
Ooo. Tricky! Well, I think it depends in large part what time period. There were the requisite actor/rock star/astronaut phases. I though I might want to write professionally (still do, sometimes) and thought about broadcast journalism (don't much any more).
As for right now, I'm trying to decide whether I want to go back to school for the big degree that'll mean people in my day-to-day would call me professor, too, and not just SS students.

Wow. This is a tricky one, too. Well, it could be really simple and just 'that was my e-mail address when I stopped using my name for things,' but that's not really an answer.
A better answer is that I made that original e-mail when I had first moved out of my parents' house and decided that I could be whatever it was I wanted to be now that I was on my own... but I hadn't quite figured it out, yet. Things were... ambiguous.. when it came to what I was going to do.

Gosh. I... tend not to watch those movies anymore, soooo, I'd say Jurassic Park. That scene with the lawyer was my favorite when it was a new movie.

Howdy!
Some friends insisted that I go see the movie with them. I was like, eh, what is this?
But I watched it and realized, when I got home, that my little brother had the first three books and had never read them. I brought them with me to my uncle's house on Thanksgiving and read all three of them that day.
Hooked.

Hello!
I just finished Rick Riordan's The Lost Hero and I have to say, I do really enjoy his Olympus / Greek mythology based books. The Red Pyramid was *ok* but not nearly as great.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins were super too.

Hmm. Coolest? Sheldon. For sure.
SPOILER!!: Meet Sheldon
Most complicated would probably be this, though:
SPOILER!!: blanket

Hi Abby and welcome!
It really really depends what you like to do. I'm a big fan of the roleplays, so I'd suggest checking out those forums and just looking around.
There are also some awesome Movie Nights happening where we're watching the movies together. That forum is here.
Poke around and explore!

That was...sort of a profound answer.
I also have to say I love the knitting, you have to make me something and then send it over *nods*
And since I have gelato in my mind thanks to Ellie and Treyen...do you like ice cream? If so, what's your favorite flavor? If not, why not?
Wow a man that can knit and totally admits it!! Totally love that!!
Question: Does Bostonians insistence on calling a parking lot a car park irk you as much as it irks me
Heh. Well, my entire tenure in Boston I've lived around students - first the graduate students I went to school with who were from all 50 states and something like 10 different countries or something, and now I'm in a neighborhood of mostly undergraduates and young professional 'transplants' so I don't get most of the Boston colloquial.
That's a really roundabout way of saying I've never heard someone call it a car park.

There's this place down the street that does 'custom' softserve with all these mix-ins. Last night I had chocolate with banana and fudge brownie. Sooo, I think that's my favorite at the moment.
