Hi SS! I'm Jeremie (AmbiguouslyMe) and I'm one of your Mods of the Month for November!
Right now, I play Professor Preston Kingsley, the Transfiguration Professor in our school role play. I also write for the Daily Prophet and moderate in the fan fiction forums.
I have previously played quidditch in the school, been a Department Head and a Division Head in the Ministry RP and can (very) occasionally be heard on Potterwatch.
Outside of my RP responsibilities, I love to travel, read, write, knit and sing. Right now, I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month with a bunch of other SS'rs. I live in Boston and work with high schoolers doing leadership development. I grew up in New York and moved out here for graduate school and stuck around once I finished.
So, feel free to ask questions here, and make sure to follow SS and Platform 9 3/4's rules!

How has Harry Potter changed your Life? What in Harry Potter has inspired you? It really gave me different ways to see social problems that WE are dealing with, by making them apparent in a fantasy setting and letting the audience see the parallels on their own.
It also gave me a way to connect with my younger cousins that I wouldn't have otherwise had. Quote:

Well, in the RPG, my character, Tibi, played Seeker. If I was ACTUALLY playing quidditch (and Merlin have mercy on whatever team took me... cause I wouldn't be good), I'd probably be a chaser.
I think History of Magic would be my favorite, along with Muggle Studies. Sure, the practical wand-work subjects are 'useful' but I was always good with the theoretical/historical stuff in school.
Annnd, as for that last one, I just got done with a few solid hours of actual wedding planning, so I can't even think about marrying anyone else.

I love reading, and I love how you actually got into Harry Potter the same way I did. My friend had Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets rent while I was living in university and insisted I watch it with her. She didn't realize at the time that she actually open a can of worms and I would become obsessed!
On that note, what other types of books would you recommend reading? I'm an advice reader and always looking for recommendation from fellow fans who like something I do, cause I find most often times they like the same things I do!

I am also from NY, but no longer live there unfortunately. I lived way far upstate on the Canadian border. If you don't mind saying, what area were you from?
Also, teaching leadership training seems very interesting. What all is involved in that? Is it like a class or an after-school activity or through a program?

I took Spanish in high school, but I remember very little. And then I took 'German for Theological Reading' in graduate school, but almost NONE of that stuck. Quote:

I actually really like the Percy Jackson books, and now the two new series that that author is writing. (The Red Pyramid is part of the Kane Chronicles and The Lost Hero is part of the Heroes of Olympus series)

I grew up in the Hudson Valley area about halfway between Albany and NYC. But I went to university in Western NY near the PA border, about an hourish south of Buffalo.
As for leadership training, I used to do one that was afterschool program and conferences and community service, but now I work for a group that I essentially manage the training program that people bring in for weekend long events for youth groups. I also do some one-on-one development for youth who are on national committees for our organization. It's a lot of fun!
