| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Almost as if she could hear Marcella's thoughts, though she certainly could not, Kris chuckled. "You know, we never discussed the order in which we'd be going in the ritual. The one to go first would have the best chance of regaining life for we can't be sure how many dear Phoebe will be able save," she said, her voice growing more serious and her expression more grave as she spoke.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine "Well, without meaning to sound selfish, perhaps I should go first. As the youngest I'd have the best chance of fighting off whatever may happen if anything goes wrong.." she explained, trying to sound normal once more, wondering what Spots might make of the whole change, the pathetic attempt at hand holding flickering in her mind. |

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic "Yes, that's what I was thinking; we can go in order of death, with the oldest going last. So, I guess that means you can go first, then Professor Lainey (whom I have heard has decided to take the potion after all), and finally, myself," Krist replied, getting a bit more anxious. She floated over to examine the liquid in the vials to ensure that they were the right color and consistencies.

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic "Yes, yes," she said, straightening up and floating over to her favorite chair. "I'm just... I suppose I'm a little nervous, that's all. I mean... I want to be alive again but, I suppose I'm starting to have second thoughts. I've been dead for 50 years. What am I going to look like when I'm alive again? What kind of magical power will I come back with? Will I still be me?"

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic If she could, she would have been blushing. "I suppose vanity isn't one of those things we lose over time, even in death when we don't change. But, that wasn't quite my point. I'm just wondering what exactly we will be like should the potion work. I mean, there's no guarantee that we'll be the same, is there? It's entirely possible that, should the potion not completely go awray, it might bring us back... wrong... somehow."
ooc: I know, I stole the whole coming back from the dead wrong thing from Buffy, so sue me. LOL

HM Hendrik entered the Main Room to find Professors Airlia and Riddle waiting for the others to arrive. "Ah....good! I'm glad to see you two here and ready to begin....Phoebe will be here shortly and we can begin. Are you both absolutely sure this is what you want? It's not too late to change your mind. I know you both are aware that things have been happening around the castle grounds and my fears of what was going to happen have in deed begun. Though I'm sure the potion is not what he has in mind. If we are to do this....we need to begin the ceremony."
HM Hendrik walks over to a table and conjures a small burner and a metal holder for the Draught of Ephemera. "Now....I must fetch what I fear is the real reason for Lord Voldemortist presence here....I shall return shortly."
He turns and leaves the Main Room and heads off towards the Library.

There was a small creaking sound as an unnoticed bookshelf slowly opened. The Headmaster slowy emerged carrying what looked like a book, covered in a shroud. He walked over to the table and placed it beside the burner. He had a most determined and serious look on his face. "Now, we wait for the others to arrive......"

Samea floated into the Main Room, still giggling a bit from her encounter with Raven.
She saw the seriousness of the Headmaster and quickly sobered up. "Ooooh....I see things have begun.....in the final stages are we? Well now...continuing on even though He's out there waiting. My, my, my Headmaster....you are the brave one now aren't you!
I hope you know what you are doing......" |

She rolls her eyes at Hendrik's worries; they wouldn't have let the potion get this far advanced if they weren't serious about taking it.
Bored of waiting, she wished she could tap her foot impatiently.
Seeing Samea whisk in, she frowned, "Bugger off you! You're only threatening death because it's what gives your shallow life some pathetic substance. Go bother someone else." |

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Tensions were begining to run high already and Professor Airlia wished the others would hurry. This wiating around was not helping matters whatsoever. "My fears will not prevent me from taking the potion," she retorted. "But, I'd be foolish not to think through the possible repurcussions of what we're doing. You know very well that I'd prefer to be truly dead than to be alive so, that is not what worries me. However, I'd rather not turn into a monster or something of that nature."

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Professor Airlia let out a sigh of relief and turned at the sound of Professor Phoenix's voice. "Thank goodness you've made it. I don't think I could have waited another moment. You're right, everyone is edgey. I think we'd better get started; once we begin, I'm sure we'll all be able to regain our focus," she said but, paused and looked at Professor Phoenix with a bit of concern. "That is... If you are sure you are still up to this, Phoebe."

| Flower Girl Wench Royalty Nurse Lotus hops into the room holding her toe and almost fell over Professor Phoenx. "Oh darn it!......Terribly sorry Professor. I came as soon as I could, the work of a nurse is never done." Rubbing her foot Livinia checks her pockets to make sure she has her emergency viles and poultices in case someone gets injured besides her stubbed toe.

| :ballcap: Spots floats back into the room as the heads turned to see him. He smiled but tried to remain calm. The anticipation in the room was so thick it could be cut with a dagger. Spots noticed Professor Phoenix and nodded making sure she was calm about what she had agreed to do, He noticed a small twig from the birch tree in the courtyard that he knew was needed for the potion's ritual. He had also noticed what appeared to be several beds from the Hosptial Wing in the middle of the room. The light was low and the poition sat on top of the burner simmering making small pops and sizzles as it sat. Several others were still expected so Spots just moved around the room trying to make eye contact with each of them acknowledging that he would do what was necessary to help them on their journey. When he settled next to Marcella who seemed the most nervous. "You okay Marcella?" he asked her. |

"You're paranoid.." she said, with a dismissive shake of her head. "You cant become that different to how you were before."
Feeling more than a little ticked off, she siddled to the corner in time to see Phoebe arrive. Watching Airlia pander to her, she drifted further away from them, staying quiet, eyes fixed on the potion.
She was actually glad when Spots came to her side. The tension was rising but she was definitely not nervous of the task ahead. Though she'd refuse to believe it, her reaction to the potion, the way her mind had wharped, she was starting to worry in the same way that Airlia was. What if she came back as a different person? The feeling of hunger for that power that had overwhelmed her was both frightening and exciting. With a wonky smile, she nodded her head, "I guess it's just the fumes getting to me. I'm not so much nervous, just a tad concerned, but don`t tell Airlia that." she added, knowing she couldn't very well admit to feeling something she'd chastised her fellow staff member for feeling. |

| Spots glanced a look briefly back to Profeesor Airlia as Marcella referred to her.He looked back to Marcella and smiled, trying to provide whatever comfort he could. He realized that he was correct in wanting to be present as the potion was taken. If nothing else, he could help calm the tension evident in each of the recipients. In hearing Marcella's musings though he wondered......what if they weren't recognizable after taking the potion. Who knew what traits they might pick up or transfer to/from the host. There certainly weren't any records to indicate what had happened in the past. The room grew steadily quieter as everyone waitied for the moment that the first ghost and Professor Phoenix would begin the ritual. |

Kobus walked over to Phoebe and placed his hand on her shoulder, giving it a slight squeeze. "Phoebe, we haven't much time...and need to proceed. I have brought a special dagger for the ceremony....if you need it....and I'm sure Nurse Lotus will be able to numb the area if you are unable. Things outside the castle are becomming more agitated and if we don't finish the potion now, I fear we shall not finish at all."
Kobus takes the dagger from his robes and places it in Phoebe's hand. "I have something else for you as well...."
He removes the medallion from around his neck and places it around hers. "The Merlin Medallion should protect you from any harm....'take this medallion in thy grasp and all harm due shall pass'....is the inscription on the back. Thanks to Professor Bannister for the translation. The medallion is the sign of life and if things were to go wrong", he paused for a moment. "Well if something were to go awry...the medallion should protect you. I would not be able to live with myself if something were to happen to you..."
He looked into her eyes for what seemed like an eternity. Realizing that time was indeed short, he gave her a small nod and she proceeded with the next step of the potion.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine Axious, she fidgeted, "I just hope I come out of the other side.." she sighed, watching Kobus prepare Phoebe. Instinctively, she repeated her earlier mistake, her hand falling through Spots'. Why couldn't this just all be over with?? |

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Kris floated in a corner by herself after the Headmaster and Phoebe began to talk with one another. Nurse Lotus was here now, as well as Spots, for moral support, no doubt. Why couldnt they hurry this along? She was getting tired of all this waiting and just standing about the room, on the verge of becoming alive again... It was pure torture.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Marcella Riddle Graduated | Kaplinski Rival Sorting Hat Machine Taking advantage of the last few moments they'd have before the ritual began, she turned to Spots, suddenly remembering his opposition to the whole charade. | Spots watched the headmaster and the Professor talk quietly, he saw Hendrik drape somehting over the Professor's neck and say a few more words. While this was occupying everyone's attention, he felt a whisp through his hand and noticed that Marcella had reached out for his hand unsuccessfully. He smiled at her and wished he could provide more comfort to her and the others. "Well, as much as I am agoinst taking it myslef, I feel it more important as a member of the staff to provide support and what ever protection I can." He paused before continuing, not sure if he should. "I also feel that if I am to loose my associates as ghosts......well...then I need to be here." |

| Phoebe nodded at Kobus, tightening her grip around the cold metal of the blade. She accepted the amulet around her neck without a word; her look was one of concentration and serenity, her eyes mirrors of ice in the flickering light of the room. Silence weighed down upon the staff members grouped together like a thick blanket, muffling any sound. "We shall start," Phoebe spoke silently. Nonetheless, her voice resonated through the room like a hollow echo that sent shivers down one's spine. She approached a table, on which a matt silver cauldron stood next to a vial with Norandola dust as well as the khaki green potion Phoebe and Kris Airlia had worked on earlier that week. Without pause for further interruptions, Phoebe laid the blade of the dagger into the palm of her left hand; a swift moment later, she had cut herself without even as much as flinching. The dagger rested in her right hand for another moment before she put it down on the table. A thin trace of red liquid on its edge indicated what was not yet to be seen on her hand: A cut. Phoebe clenched her left hand to a tight fist, holding it over the cauldron that stood on a set of scales…the blood came: Slowly at first, but rapidly increasing in speed. Yet, it took a long while until all the 45.9ml of it were collected and when the last drop fell into the cauldron, though serious and distant, Phoebe's features were distinctively pale. She pulled a dark cloth out of a pocket of her robes and clenched it in her hand; it was magically enchanted and stopped the bleeding while Phoebe went on with her work. Carefully measuring, she added 7.2g of Norandola dust as indicated in the directions for the Draught of Ephemera: It floated on the scarlet surface of her blood like a sheet of silver. Somebody had lit a small, weak fire to her right without Phoebe's notice; the entrancing effect of the potion—or ritual—was already taking place. Although she was still aware of her actions, Phoebe felt strangely guided, yet alone and empty at the same time. Mechanically, she placed the cauldron on top of the low flames and let the heat do its work. After several minutes, the silver dust had been absorbed. "Leithian feir mân," Phoebe chanted slowly, reaching for a single blond hair and pulling it out with its root, "Leithian feir mân," she repeated and dropped the hair into her blood in the cauldron. "Leithian feir mân… Leithian feir mân… Leithian feir mân… Leithian feir mân… Leithian feir mân… Leithian feir mân… Leithian feir mân." Phoebe stepped back from the cauldron as the contents began hissing and spluttering…the colour was changing from the scarlet red of her own blood to a darker, richer shade of crimson. Her hand stretched out without her being able to influence it, and Phoebe took the cauldron off the fire, setting it down on the table. She reached for the khaki potion she had brewed with Kris Airlia and added it to her blood, repeating the incantation, " Leithian feir mân," another nine times. The liquid was now brown. Phoebe looked at it with disinterest; she saw the colour, knew what it was, knew what it meant—and yet, felt void and without emotion. A cold, invisible hand pressed her down on a hard wooden stool while somebody warm and distinctively human had filled the Draught of Ephemera into a tall glass. Phoebe set the tumbler to her lips and closed her eyes. She drank. Out of own violation or not, she could not say. Her stomach was rebelling against the cold, metallic taste of her own blood. Soon her hands were clenched to tight fists, her nails digging into her flesh, piercing the barely healed wound of the dagger, as wave after wave of nausea washed over her, which she was forced to fight against time after time. By now, Phoebe was doubled over, shaking uncontrollably with tightly shut eyes, yet tears leaking out from the sides and blood running over her hands, her clothes…not that she noticed. She felt somebody—something—pulling her back into a sitting position…her intestines stopped squirming. The room was strangely out of focus, humans only visible as red smudges of heat, ghosts icy patches of blue, inanimate objects—the walls, the doors, the cauldron—green; the little rest of the Draught of Ephemera bright, blinding white. And then, all went black.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Zahra Kettleburn Graduated | Inside Kitty | HIT ENTER | UNO Queen Professor Lainey felt more guilt than ever with each foot she put between herself and Rae, who was still waiting out on the grounds with the bodies of their former students. But... she felt like she was making the right decision by changing her mind, and making herself, once again, alive. Then, she truly could help Rae, she could do a lot of things that she hadn't got to do in her short-lived life.
She entered into the room, the potion set up and a small fire going. Not wanting to draw any kind of attention to herself, she slipped around the edge of the room, with her head down. Only lifting her eyes to see who all was present, she saw all the other ghosts of Hogwarts, the lovely nurse, and the Headmaster. It wasn't until moments later, she realized it had really begun and she saw Phoebe, out, obviously having just taken the potion..
