Once that was finished, she fished a bit of parchment from the top of her desk and settled into her chair. A sound at the door caused her to wave with the hand not writing. "Come in, come in. "Fifteen more points for Ravenclaw and twenty for Gryffindor. Unfortunately, dragons, acromantulas, and thestrals are not considered dark. Or maybe that's fortunately...? Anyway, these creatures are large and dangerous, but their threat to Wizards is a natural part of their survival. Dark creatures, on the other hand, have unnatural needs to fill that don't impact their survival. A red cap will lure you to your death just to stain his hat with your blood. Just because the MoM rating is high, don't assume that animal is 'Dark', but along those lines... don't assume an animal isn't simply because he seems safe or his MoM rating is low. What IS the MoM rating I"m talking about?"

"The MoM (Ministry of Magic) rating is done by the rarity and the danger of the animal. The danger is expressed by X's of the rarity. So for an example: Demiguise: has xxxx (4 X's) Meaning it is rae but can be dangerous when threathen," she said looking at the professor.

In case you are unaware of how the granting of points goes in this class, that is how I reward them, unless it is a multi-part answer such as the Dark Creature one. The MoM rating is designated by the Ministry of Magic to quickly and effectively allow Wizards to know how dangerous a creature is. A dragon is VERY dangerous, and a Wizard could quickly find that out. What is one of the best sources of information in finding out a creature's MoM rating?"
