Oh good, see she was in the right for calling him Healer. Those were credentials that would be with him forever that he earned. Jumping right into the lesson, Skylar glanced around for the first time noticing how half-asleep some of her peers looked. Honestly, she was probably taking more classes than any of them and she was more awake; but perhaps it was the keeping busy that allowed her to be mostly awake. Although some exercise in running around and looking for ingredients would be good to wake some of them up, which fortunately due to the health and wellness class she took on weekends, wouldn't be so difficult.

Fireseeds though? Oh no! Skylar had flashbacks to when she burned herself and the one of the few times she had been to a professor's office - conveniently Healer Reed's. But she was older now and would be okay, right? Maybe. The fifth year glanced around for a partner, and notice that her potions buddy (Vivian, who sat down next to her) was partnering with Etta. And then there was a new Gryffindor kid ... Beau, no wait, he was partnered... Patrick and Dahlia... Oliver and Hattie ... goodness, was everyone already partnered up? Cameron and Junia.... yep, all the partners; seemed she might be going solo on this venture, not that she minded. She was a fifth year and definitely knew her way well enough around the castle.


Then she saw an older Ravenclaw asking if anyone needed a partner. Cassandra McNally, who'd been chosen to represent Ravenclaw in the IMPS last year and she was pretty sure she'd partnered with before on a few occasions. She didn't need help, per say, but ... "I'll partner with you, if you want, unless younger students would need help?" Because it might be better for them to use their age to help out the first or second years if needed?

The Healer Professor was REALLY GOOD with names. He literally addressed everyone by their own names when he greeted them. Maddie was impressed! She couldn't even remember all her professors names, much less all the students in the whole entire school! So he wanted her to keep her energy up? "That I can do!" she replied. It was super, duper easy to keep her energy up!

Maddie wasn't sleepy, and she didn't mind morning classes, but she could use her imagination and pretend she did! Maddie bounced out of her seats and began following all the professor's directions. When she'd washed her hands and made sure her hair was all tied up, she turned her attention back to the Healer Professor. WHOOOOOOA. They were going to hunt for ingredients in the castle?! That sounded really awesome and a lot of FUN. Maddie knew little to nothing about hunting for ingredients, but she just bet an older student might.

"Any SUPER DUPER SMART PEOPLE still need a partner?!" she asked. PICK ME, PICK ME. She should also get on all that protective gear she was supposed to have on. Alright, SUPER DUPER SMART older student! We need you!

Five Sickles.

Théo had that much on him. Which was surprising since he usually spent on his money on sweets. Hmm...yeah he would take that bet. Zoryn was on.

"You are on like Donkey Kong" That is if they ever get to making a potion or well making one wrong in Théo's case. So it was a scavenger hunt in the castle for ingredients. Well that sounded fun. Zoryn seemed more excited about it then he did. He put his protective gear on and hoped he remembered how to harvest. Oh right he needed all the other gear.

ZORYN WAS A GENIUS.

Kitchen was a great idea because even if they did not find any they could ask the elves. See success. And they could get snack for the way. Double or Triple Win. Math was not his strong suit in anything other than sports scores.

"Kitchen yes and dont forget your tools and stuff. We only got thirty minutes so best to run there!"

Once she was ready

Remy grinned. See, enthusiasm. That was good, ‘cause he had not idea which fire the Healer would have chosen… but he had a feeling the garden by the hospital wing might hold some answers. And hopefully a plant. Hopefully. Otherwise it would be a horrible chase around the castle without enough time to finish. And not finishing, wasn’t allowed. So, onwards and upwards.

”It is nice to meet you.” Remy agreed, before watching the shorter boy run to get a lab coat. Good, he could follow instructions. That would help. ”First, we are going to go to Healer’s Reed garden he keeps to check for the betony leaves and the stargrass. If they aren’t there, there is a garden on top of one of the towers we can check out… However we only have half an hour… So ready?” It was a question, but really ‘yes’ was the only answer that the Seventh year would accept. Standing, he lead the way from the Potions classroom so that they could hunt down the ingredients.

Kyle blinked a moment after he was bumped into and looked up at the older student. Biting his lip, he nodded and ran off, shouting behind him, "Give me just a moment!" He quickly washed his hands and got his protective gear on before dodging a few students as he ran back over. He wiggled his fingers in his gloves and held up his hands. "Okay, I'm ready! Where should we look first?"

Théo was in on the bet? HECK YEAH HE WAS!!!! This was gonna be AWESOME. Zoryn absolutely couldn't wait to see their potion explode. Man, this was gonna be an incredible potions lesson, that's for sure.

Unsure about which tools they would need, the Gryffindor just wiped their counter clear of tools and threw them all in her bag anyways. Just incase 'cause you never really know. Though... Since they'd probably find everything they'd need in the kitchens, Zoryn didn't see how hard the harvesting would be. Eh. Whatever. Maybe Professor Healer Reed was just trying to scare them.

"RIGHT!" Jumping into the air, Zoryn pointed a finger towards the door, "To the kitchens, Théo!" And without wasting another second, the Gryffindor went sprinting out the door and towards the kitchen level.

Maybe they'd even have time to get some snacks while they were there?

Perfect.

Patrick looked around the room, "Well I really only know Skylar from when I met her at the fountain in Daigon Alley, so I guess we're on our own?" he said scrattching his neck in an awkward way. He hoped that just because they were first years it wouldn't hurt them.

Patrick turned and looked at the older student who said try the library. He figured that would be a good place to start if an older student was giving direction, at least he hoped. "Thanks, we'll start there." He turned his attention back to Dahlia and looked down at his jotted down list of items needed, Looks like we should go to the library and maybe the grounds as well." he looked back over to Dahlia to get a sense of if she thought it was the right decision.

Katy silently repacked her supplies, except for her gloves and wand for now, and tucked up the rest of her hair before slipping off to wash her hands. While she preferred to work alone, Katy took seriously the fact that she was a sixth year. Not important enough for prefect, apparently, but still an older student. She ought to act like it.

"Maybe not super duper smart, but I need a partner," Katy offered a small smile at the younger girl as she shouldered her satchel. "Katy Toussaint. Where do you reckon we should start?" She wanted to keep her seat and show the professor that she actually already had fireseed and betony. But it was the effort that mattered here, and Healer Reed wanted them out and practicing ingredient retrieval. It was a favorite hobby of this Toussaint, regardless.

Seeing that shake of the head, Sam send a sad face back at Addy before turning to unpack her bag. She wasn't going to interrupt the lesson further, since she hoped they'd get to talk a bit afterwards. Although it was a shame indeed that Addy wasn't going to be teaching. Mainly for the other students to be honest, since she got to brew with her in the holidays. Did they know her Aunt Addy was a super cool potioneer and researcher for Ellsberry?!

She didn't get to dwell on it though, as the lesson was starting and they were going on a SCAVANGER HUNT. Yup, this should be right up her alley. Well, their alley, since her bestie didn't really need to even ask that question aloud. "Too right!" Of course they were going to be partners. Duh.

She lent over to the sink at their station to wash her hands, before pulling on her coat and gloves. "D'ya think we need goggles too?" Surely the ingredients they were collecting couldn't be that dangerous, if they were hidden around the castle where any poor first year could wander across it unprotected? Seemed a little...lax...for a healer.

"I vote we save the best til last." Clearly the fireseeds, given fire was kind of Dora's forte.

Maddie really lucked out when she asked for a partner, because not even a whole minute later, one of the older girls agreed to partner up with her. "I bet you are super duper smart. You look like a...seventh year," Maddie decided, "and you have to know a lot of things to get all the way to seventh year." And if she wasn't a seventh year, then she was close enough to it. "Thanks for working with me, Katy! I'm Maddie Kemp." She would launch into the whole 'first year Hufflepuff' thing, too, but she was prettyyy sure that part was obvious.

Where did she want to start? Katy should probably be told how long it had taken Maddie to find most of the bathrooms in this castle. Most of her classes, too. She had no idea where she wanted to start, and her facial expression probably said just that. "Hmm...well, first of all, can you help me with the whole protective gear? What do I need to put on?" she asked. Gloves? She had those! She pulled them out and checked that her wand was securely in its holster. "So is this like a scavenger hunt? Do you guys do this often? Should we know where to look, or is it hidden in some random place?"

You know what Maddie thought? Maddie thought they should start wherever Katy thought they should start!

What was with all the sleepiness of the class today? Juni didn’t get it, she was wide awake and ready for the lesson. After a big breakfast, since breakfast is suppose to be the best meal of the day. She sat comfortably in her chair as she listened to the healer. So they were going on a scavenger hunt of sorts for their potions ingredients.

Juniper stood up and stretched before taking the hair pull back out of her hair and retying it back up. Just for the sake of making sure it was tied up good and tight. Then she took all of the things out of her bag leaving what she didn’t need with her at the moment on the table and packed up the tools she would need to bring with her. Check tools and every she needed. Including a banana that she had grabbed on her way out of the great hall this morning, for a brunch snack.

It had taken a bit longer than the rest of the students to get ready. She looked around and asked ”Does anyone else still need a partner?” Anyone at all. She hoped she wasn’t too late she could work on her own if she had too. But in case someone was too shy to ask for a partner or something maybe her asking first was helpful to them.

Flynn was trying his hardest not to fall asleep - yes, he was one of the students that Professor Reed had subtly mentioned in his speech. He was attempting to hold back yawns, possibly letting a few escape every now and then, as he listened to their instructions. Oh, this was going to be a scavenger hunt? How.... interesting. Maybe that meant he could sneak in a nap before coming back. Maybe? If he hurried and found all the ingredients.

He stood up from his seat, washed his hands, and put on all the gear he would need. Hw was planning on doing this hunt alone until he heard someone saying something about needing a partner, and his eyes diverted over to a certain Ravenclaw. Did he REALLY want to partner with a know-it-all Ravenclaw that would possibly annoy him?

Correction: WILL annoy him.

BUT she was a Ravenclaw! She was SMART. She could get him through this hunt then he could get his nap before coming back to class! Brilliant idea, Flynn. BRILLIANT.

"I'll be your partner," he answered her.

Noting better than a scavenger hunt says Cheer Up, Buttercup! Luci took note of everything they were to collect, thinking of what routes to take and finish as soon as possible this assignment, efficiency was the clue.

As soon as they were released, she put on a few pins to.hold her loose hair strands, washed her hands, and put on the rest of the gear to protect herself.

To do it alone, or...find a partner?

Um.....yeah.....? Ronan didn't quite get Tenacius' reference, but before he could ask, class was starting. And his lab coat was suddenly buttoned up around him. Honestly, better reaction than he was expecting, considering he was expecting to receive a detention and point loss. Especially since there seemed to be an important looking nonprofessor adult joining the class today. As for underpants? "I always wear clean knickers," he whispered back. Though, it was a weird question that had him wondering.....

But not for long, as they were being given instructions. Ones that Ronan quickly jotted down, lest he forget.

He didn't team up with anyone, thinking he could work faster alone. Instead, he tossed the needed supplies in his bag, washed his hands and slipped on the rest of his protective gear before dashing out the door. He already had a good idea of where to find the first ingredient and wanted to get there before it was worked over.

Okay, COOL. Etta had a partner now.. so now, to find the ingredients. She grinned at the Slytherin confidently. Yeah, they could totally do this. First and foremost, she was a friend. Besides, partnering up with a prefect meant that would be easier to help out the youngsters.. if they wanted help, of course. And she liked how Vivian still called her Miss Etta. It was rather cute.

She nodded at Vivi's question. "Yeah, from the fire seed bush which means.. we'll have to go to a place where there's fire, yeah?" Which was common sense, really. "Should we leave now?" And the other two ingredients.. maybe a garden someplace? Maybe? But, they could start looking for fireseeds first.

Vivian was still a little sheepish about her question, but was very much grateful that Miss Etta didn't give her a look of total judgment. The blond appreciated it and continued to smile at the Hufflepuff. But with Miss Etta's question, Vivian responded with a nod immediately as she checked on her watch to see how long they had left. "Yeah, I think we should," she said. "Not enough time to waste with just thirty minutes in our hands." But because of her new responsibilities, even the Slytherin knew how to work around with just a few minutes.

It got her thinking, about the fireseeds. She remembered clearly that she had visited Ethan at the library last term. Vivian leaned closer to Miss Etta. "There's a fireplace in the library. I remember hanging out there with Ethan last term," she whispered. "Should we give it a try?" But honestly, there were a hundred other places at Hogwarts that used fire, like the kitchens! However, weighing the pro's and con's, the blond was sure the house elves wouldn't be too pleased with accommodating way too many students at the same time down the basements.

She’d hardly taken Healer Reed’s response to her greeting as a reprimand. Of course she’d wash her hands after her snuggle session with his dogs. Just because she didn’t like Potions didn’t mean she was going to actively try to sabotage it. She wasn’t going to sabotage her House, but then she also wasn’t about to tell him that basically the only reason she was even there was the fact he was teaching the subject. That and the fact she rarely saw him without his dogs, and she adored them. It sort of had convinced her that he wasn’t going to actively make her do anything that hurt creatures, after all. Hopefully. Either way, after she’d dropped her things at the seat next to Emmeline, she turned to go over to wash her hands carefully, returning to her set at basically the same time he’d started the lesson.

She wouldn’t use the fact it was a morning lesson to skip. Now, if she knew they were doing anything with lots of animal parts, or if they were actually having to hurt creatures, then maybe she’d skip. She’d definitely protest, adult supervisor person or not. The order to wash her hands had confused her, either way. Was she supposed to wash them again or was it more for the people who hadn’t? Either way, she knew her hands were clean, and she’d already had her hair pulled back into a ponytail, so all she had left to do was get her protective gear on, and her lab coat.

At least the three things they were supposed to locate were plants. It helped her feel better, and she’d glanced over at Emmeline. “Partners?” She figured they’d be good at a scavenger hunt together, but maybe Healer Reed would let them work together and with an older student if Emmeline wanted. ‘Cause Derf was already working with Char, but she wondered if he still had any of those fireseeds he’d had before. Maybe if they couldn’t find any other ones, she’d ask.

Daisy quickly wrote down the ingredients for the potion in her trusty notebook.

Since she had already washed her hands, Daisy donned her dragon hide gloves and put on a lab coat. Daisy packed what was required and decided to visit Healer Reed's herbal garden first. The fire seeds were last on her list.

Miranda wrote down the ingredients in her notebook.

Five pieces of Betony leaves
32 grams of Stargrass
Five Fireseeds

With that done she looked around the room and saw that everyone was already pairing up .. Some were even in groups of three... Hmm.. Maybe Healer Reed would mind if she just worked on her own... She was still feeling very out of place with her peers and it didn't seem like anyone wanted to partner up with her... Which really.. It was fine...


OR... Maybe someone would claim her as their partner or fold her into their group once they left the dungeons.. Any one of three ways would get the job done... But where to go?..

A garden. Yes. Okay. Beau could handle that. He enjoyed gardens, mainly because he was able to get messy messy messy whenever he wanted to. Hopefully this garden was gonna be MESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSY too. "This is going to be fun! Do you know everything? Are you really smart WHat year are you in? I'm in first year and I'm a Gryffindor. Can you roll my sleeves up? I can't see my hands!"

Beau was MORE than ready for this adventure. SO ready that he actually overtook Remy on the way out of the potions classroom even though he had NOOOOOO idea where he was supposed to be going. La la laaaaaa. TIME TO LOCAAAAAATE.

"You got an idea about the Fireseeds? Good! Because I dont recall ever seeing a burning bush anywhere inside the castle." he joked as he grabbed their textbook and added it to their supplies tray. "Lets go!" he quipped as he led the way out of the Potions classroom.

Rhea was very much on auto-pilot this morning. She was just doing what needed to be done and not a thing more. She listened to the Healer as he spoke, jotting down the ingredients that she was required to find. .... 5 p. Betony Leaves .... 32g Stargrass .... 5 p. Fireseeds .... She then scraped her hair into a ponytail and tied it with a bobble from her wrist, got up and washed her hands, and put on her protective gear.

All set.

She didn't really need a partner, but figured she might as well see if anyone else needed one. Automatically, she searched for familiar faces and her eyes fell on Luci. "Wanna partner up?" She asked as she approached her dormmate. "And she," she added, looking over at another girl (Miranda) that she'd noticed on her way over, "looks like she needs a partner, too."

Kimi listened to the healer as he said about the hunt and got the ingrediants wrote down in his notebook and looked about seeing some of his classmates working alone or teaming and said "Hey anybody wanting a partner" Kimi knew that with the way his health had been it would be best if he had a partner he just waited to see if anybody was willing to work with him

As she searched for familiar faces, Luci noticed familiar faces already partnering up with other people. Maybe better, no distractions, straight to the point. That's when she heard Rhea call up to hee and approaching. She nodded amd grinned. "Sure. Three brains think better than one." Thus, agreeing to include Miranda in the team.

"Hi" Luci waved at Miranda, "Want to join us?" Maybe a fresh pair of eyes will help, too.

Miranda was about to give up hope on having a partner when she saw Rhea and Luci team up and Wave and call her over to join them. YEAH! ...She had two fellow students to go on the hunt for ingredients together!....

She gave Luci a excited wave back as she went to join the pair.. " Sure...
I'd love to team up with you guys", She said with a warm smile as she came to them. So... Where to first?.. I say we start with the easiest and work up to the harder stuff... What do you think? ", Randa added.
