Arranged in its usual state, the door to the Potions Classroom was once again open for the day's lesson. On top of each workstation are your typical Potions materials and tools ready to be used.

Up ahead, Healer Reed can be seen leaning against the blackboard, hands stuffed into his trousers' pockets waiting for his students to arrive. Roscoe and Bumi can be seen lounging on the side, proudly wearing their Red Cross badges around their necks.

No time to dilly-dally! Come in and let's start brewing!

Remy hadn’t always appreciated Potions. In fact he had once hated it and had cursed every potion that had been made as they had either refused to work or hadn’t been as strong as they could have been. However with extra work in the potions lab and help from Rian, Remy’s understanding and love for Potions had grown and expanded to a point of consistency and although it certainly wasn’t a subject he had a natural affinity for, his work had definitely improved over the past three years. He was hoping that his year he could continue that trend. Hard work had never scared him off before.

Moving into the lab when the door swung open, the tall seventh year threw a happy grin in Professor - or was that still Healer? - Reed’s direction. ”Hey Professor.” He moved to a seat in the middle of the class, and sat down to get his equipment ready before the class started. After checking over the materials already on the desk, he took out what he would need to take notes as he went and his potions books.

Did Zoryn like potions? Sure. Aside from the fact that there were so many instructions that she never felt like following. But unfortunately, like Professor Marchand had said, she couldn't exactly drop the class like she wanted to. It was a core subject or whatever. So Zoryn Spinnet walked in despite whether or not she truly liked potions.

Waving to her Professor as she made her way inside, the third year BEAMED at him 'cause the man was a good one. "HI PROFESSOR HEELER REED," that was his full name right?

"Hope today isn't long and boring, sir," she wanted to plant that seed so that he'd be very aware of the length and excitement of his lesson. It was always good to be forward. Mhm. Your welcome, class. Zoryn was looking out for EVERYONE.

Potions! Hattie liked potions. She was pretty good at it too. Though she wasn't too sure if she was going to carry on next year, but for now she was going to enjoy the lesson. She was hopefully going to try and pass the OWL too. She hoped that would happen. The girl was chewing on the last bit of her toast as she headed towards the potions classroom. She was excited to see what the lesson would be. Hopefully it would be super interesting. She didn't like boring lessons.

The blonde wandered into the classroom, swallowing the last of her toast. She smiled at the Healer. "Hi.... Do we call you Professor Reed now?" She mused, with a little smile, before she headed to find a seat.

Josie walked in and gave a small wave to her professor, "Good morning, professor." The eleven year old smiled before going and taking her seat. At least most of her nerves were gone now. She'd gotten to write home and her parents all seemed happy...

Well... all except for her father... He was still a bundle of nerves wanting to make sure she was ok and that everything was going fine... Maybe that's where she got all her nervousness. After all, her father was a hufflepuff too, and her mother was always saying how much they were alike... So wouldn't be to far out there that she got the irritating trait from his as well... Maybe she'd yell at him for the horrid gene when she saw him again.

Potions was okay. Wasn't Ronan's favorite (that was DADA), but he didn't hate it or anything. Plus, he did appreciate the incorporation of muggle modes of clothing and eye protection. Or, in this particular Gryffindor's case on this particular day, skin protection. For his uniform was lacking one important element: the shirt and tie combo. Yes, he was shirtless and tieless, thanks to a written dare from his cousin Parker. His pants, shoes, and everything else was in proper order though.

"Hello, professor," he greeted nonchalantly, taking his normal seat in the middle of the classroom and placing his textbook, note-taking supplies and safety goggles on the desk. His lab coat earned a place on the back of the chair as usual.

Was anyone else feeling a breeze?

DaniDiNardo 09-08-2017 01:42 PM

Jessa had taken an even keener interest in Potions this year. The fact it had nothing to do with impending exams or a fear she was falling behind was normal. Her interests were not typically driven by academic gain but rather the love of gaining knowledge for her personal use.

As of this point, she was still waiting to see if her latest potion would prove fruitful but it was still another few days of simmering before she would be able to test it out. Should she fail again, the young girl may have been ready to admit that outside help might not be such a bad idea--but naturally she'd ask her Head of House who was already privy to her latest experiment and would ask very few if any questions. To explain it all again in order to gain a simple response was not how the 14 year old liked to spend her free time.

"Good morning." She said, by way of greeting to the Healer/Professor as she took her seat somewhere near the front of the room. With some Professor's doubling up, she always felt a little silly with the titles and tried to avoid them when she could.

Mr. Kennedy didn't mind her referring to him as either but you just never knew. The dogs got a wiggly fingered wave and a bit more enthusiasm before the Ravenclaw reached into her bag and began to unpack her things. Nothing to give away the lesson thus far. Jessa couldn't help wonder if this would be yet another lesson where her education would be a total surprise until it happened. Those were among her least favourite.

Schoolbag hanging over one shoulder, Dorian entered the potions classroom for another lesson. As he entered, he straightened his Ravenclaw tie and looked around the room. Only one other Ravenclaw was present so far AND he spotted Zoryn! She got an enthusiastic wave causing him to nearly drop his bag.

"Hey Professor" he greeted the man leaning against the blackboard with a small wave this time and then immediately found a seat somewhere in the middle of the room. He still wasn't sure whether or not that he liked Potions but he could see why his father loved it. Placing the schoolbag next to his chair, he opened it up and took out his textbook, notebook and muggle pen 'cause those were far easier to write with and placed them neatly on his working station.

Potions might not be part of the field she was looking into pursuing, but Cassie was continuing to take it anyway. It was a subject that came in handy even if it was to help keep you from being so reliant all the time on master potioners or understand the reactions of things. And while it was technically a new professor this term, it wasn’t a new face with the school healer stepping in to care for the classes. Coming to the correct classroom, she walked through the open door and took in the classroom.

“Good morning, Professor Reed,” she greeted, having settled on the professor title while in class like in Ancient Runes with the headmistress. She was curious about what this lesson would pertain to, but she’d have to wait and see as she settled herself and her belongings in a free workstation.

Kimi entered the potions classroom and said "Good morning Professor Reed" Kimi took a seat and got his stuff out and waited for the lesson to begin

Steelsheen 09-08-2017 04:59 PM

plus Ronan....

Tenacius is still trying to get used to having Healer Reed as their new Potions Professor--which by and large is a GREAT thing, but with Reed being his 3rd Potions instructor, he was back to the cycle of adjusting yet again.

"Goodmorning uh..... Healer Reed." the Curly Top smiled brightly at the dark eyed man. That's another thing, he still couldnt figure out if he should call him Professor Reed whenever they're in class or stick with the man's Professional title. But ohhhh he's so distracted by the PUPPEHS! Rub a dub dub for Bumi and Roscoe.

He grabbed a labcoat shortly thereafter and as he made his way towards his usual workstation he spotted one of his Lions going a bit au naturale. "Making like an Emperor with his new clothes Ronan?" the Curly Top joked as he passed the 5th year by and slid into his own seat.

Aymeric entered the classroom with a quiet sigh. Although he was somewhat excited returning for another term, he wasn't particularly happy studying Potions again. Ever since his first year at Hogwarts, Potions has always been his weakest. The subject itself in his opinion is bearable and at times even enjoyable – but he simply despised the classroom. It's location to be more accurate. The colourless, cold, damp dungeons always made him feel unease and sometimes even miserable.

"Hello professor," the young Ravenclaw said, indifferently. Aymeric made his way to one of the workstations near the end of the classroom, and placed his stationary on the table.

Buggy-Boo 09-08-2017 06:04 PM

Skyler still wasn't sure how she felt about potions, her lessons so far had been ... mediocre at best. But she was still determined to do the best she could! So with a smile on her face she waltz into the classroom ready to see what the day was going to bring her.

"Hello Professor." She added with an even bigger smile, of course she still wasn't sure if the professor preferred to be called healer or professor but who knows.

Flynn was so accustomed to being the last student to walk into the classroom that when he entered today, he was surprised to see that today was different. He had made sure that his alarm clock was set on super loud mode so that he would not sleep through it again and almost miss class, which almost happened last Potions class.

Almost, such a great word to use in the story of his life. Almost missed class. Almost slept in. Almost got eaten by a shark. Yep, very great word.

"Sup, Professor?" He greeted the man before taking a seat near Hattie and some other first year Hufflepuff (Skyler) that he had no interest in talking to. First years, gross.

Addy Hutchinson- BoG

It seemed like an eternity since the woman had been inside the walls of the castle...
In reality it hadn't even been 20 years yet. Igh. THAT made her feel old and decrepit, actually.

Having met with her neice beforehand, the former Ravenclaw made her way to the dungeons and into the classroom she knew oh so well. It was bizarre to her that it still smelt the same, looked the same, and still brought the familiar wave of excitement to her as she made her way inside. She almost caught herself searching for Spike's curls...

Pausing inside the door she first let her eyes move across each workstation before landing back up front on the Healer slash professor. Hmmm.

And his dogs...

While Addy certainly appreciated animals, she immediately marked him off what she considered points in her head. Dog hair could certainly find its way into a cauldron and thus muck up the potion itself. Tut, tut, Healer Reed. TUT. TUT.

Addy pursed her lips slightly as she slipped quietly into a seat at the back of the classroom. She was ONLY here to observe, after all.

A few pulls and cinnamon rolls made it possible for Luci to make it on time for potions class. Sleepy or not, she still wanted to take this class. Hair tied, sleeves folded up her elbows, she walked into the classroom, giving Professor Reed a wave of hello.

Some people she knew were already there, but she decided to take a seat on one of the back corners. Helped her concentrate more, for some reason.

sitting next to Jessa

Julie had been fully prepared and ready to enter Healer Reed's lesson to learn and maybe finally (finally) get the hang of brewing, mincing, smashing, cultivating, stirring and all other practices of being a potioneer. She would listen carefully and dutifully, follow each instruction to a proper T and allow no (zero, nada, zilch) distractions to get in her way.

She was going to ace this class, except the moment she stepped in three things immediately and unfortunately caught her attention, knowing her own feelings and thoughts right out the non-existent window.

Distractions:
  1. Ronan, the Gryffindor boy was shirtless?
  2. A much older and important looking woman was in their midst????
  3. Jessa Cambridge looked really nice today.

The last was the least surprising of the three but no less distracting, however. It was the older woman whom Julie couldn't help casting cursory, curious glances at as she made her way in. What was she doing here? Was she actually an older woman or just a new kid who had gone a little nutty with an aging potion? Was no one else seeing her? They could see her right? Julie was so perplexed she nearly forgot to say hello to the still newly minted Professor Reed.

Nearly.

Uh, right. "Hullo Professor Reed, Bumi and Roscoe all ready for today's lesson?" She greeted with a smile. Julie had to resist the urge to walk over and give the dogs a more proper hullo (this wasn't the time), and instead grabbed the open chair at Jessa's station.

"Hi Jess." She paused, lowering her voice so only her friend would hear. "What's with that woman?" Julie daren't glance back now, and besides, Jessa would know what she meant. She'd have to be an idiot not to.

Potions was one of Olly's favorite classes, actually. He was pretty good at it, if he did say so himself. And this was NEWT year, which meant more studying for him. But for potions, he didn't really mind. He gave Healer Reed a friendly smile when he entered the classroom. Er, that would be Professor Reed now. Or Professor Healer Reed?? Whatever his proper title was now, Olly was looking forward to seeing how this year was going to go with him as their new potions professor.

"Good morning," he greeted and went to go find a seat. Of course he immediately looked for Noelle, but she wasn't there. But there was Hattie. Olly gave her a bright smile and went to go sit by her. "Hey."

Nymphadoraliz 09-08-2017 07:24 PM

"Hello professor" Emma said with a smile as she entered the classroom. Potions was one of her favorite classes and almost never missed a class let alone was late. She happily found a seat and looked around her to see who all was there.

oh its Erik ok 09-08-2017 07:29 PM

Next to Zoryn he goes

POTIONS

Which for Théo meant he had to try and pay attention enough to not make an mistake and have something explode. He would see how today goes but there is no guarantees. Dont think he exploded anything last time minus having Reed evapaorte his potion so Théo had to do it all over again. Théo walked in and yep same old same old. Was that a good thing or a bad thing. Ah there was Professor or was it Healer. He told us before but the third year lion forgot like usual.

"Hi...Heal...Professor Reed"

Best stick with Professor since it sounded more official and stuff.

OH there was Zoryn. Théo bolted on over to her This might be fun.

"Psst Zoryn..wanna bet who blows up their potion first?"

HaRoHeGiNeLu 09-08-2017 08:00 PM

.......Yeah......She was still here.....Taking Potions....Despite her low OWL score.....For her Herbology career.

For Herbology!

Lucy dragged her feet as she entered the classroom and found a seat. "Good morning," she bid to Professor Reed. Honestly, she really was curious to be taught by him. So good thing she had to continue Potions.

Hey Ju 09-08-2017 08:07 PM

Matt was starving. He knew for a fact that that wasn't a good thing to be during a Potions lessons because they might be brewing some type of POISON and Matt's hunger would be enough to make him want to try it and also his recklessness but that wasn't the point.

SO, right before dashing off to the dungeons, he had stuffed his pockets with some Cauldron Cakes. Y'know, since that sounded like the right type of sweet to eat during Potions. Heh.

The Gryffindor had eaten about two of those before he got to the dungeon and was on his third one when he entered. "Hello, professor healer, sir!" He saluted the man. "Doggos." He added towards the doggos, obviously, before taking another bite of the Cauldron Cake.

Now, WHERE to sit? He didn'tk now. So he just stood there looking over his classmates, enjoying his food. Maybe he could watch the lesson from there. He could see many of the Cauldrons from here and that was... cool.

The only thing worse than a Potions lesson was a DOUBLE PERIOD Potions lesson -- which this one sadly was. Emmeline hated, hated, hated Potions more than any other subject in the whole school; she wasn't good at it, there were too many instructions, and nothing exciting (in a good way) EVER happened in these lessons. Plus, some potions required the use of creature parts, which was disturbing and awful and bleghh. Last term, she had even thought about protesting the subject for that reason. This year, however, there was an added complication to Emmeline's blind hatred of Potions: Mr. Healer was teaching it. And Emmeline reallllllly liked Mr. Healer a LOT. He was one of the few adults that she totally, 100% trusted, mhm. So it was way harder to hate Potions this year 'cause he taught it. The new development had been enough of a shock to her system that all thoughts of immediately skipping or protesting Potions lessons had flown right out the window. Which meant at the super early hour of the morning that the lesson was scheduled to start at, Emmeline was to be found calmly entering the dungeon classroom.

She tried to stifle a yawn as she scanned the classroom, looking for a good place to sit. Except she was immediately thrown off by some weird stuff going on in the classroom. Mr. Ronan, one of her older Housemates that she only knew by name, wasn't wearing a SHIRT. Emmeline frowned; she still didn't understand why boys thought their stomachs made them look good for whatever older girls they were trying to impress. And and, there was an old lady in the back of the room who looked all important and stuff. And at the front of the room was...

"Roscoe! Bumi!", she whispered. Whispered 'cause even she knew better than to shout their names out across the dungeons -- but that didn't stop her from half-running up to them right away and dropping into a crouch next to them, nope. She HAD to pet them both immediately, so she extended a hand to each of them and tried to pet them. Once that was done, she turned to Mr. Healer and grinned sheepishly: "Uhhh, g'morning Mr. Professor Healer." Then she finally shuffled off to sit down in her usual Potions seat, still very much distracted and wishing she could just play with the dogs all lesson.

Harron Peasley 09-08-2017 09:54 PM

Hi Lucy Potts!

What happened if someone got injured elsewhere DURING potions?! Was their a vice-healer? A deputy-healer person? The dogs were wearing Red Cross badge things, Felicity noticed, but she wasn't sure that meant that they were capable of HEALING someone. Would potions get cut short if someone started dying?

"Morning," she smiled briefly at the Professor/Healer as she spoke, keeping her greeting short for fear of addressing him wrong. There was no way she was out hear to embarrass herself. Taking a seat next to Lucy and flashing her a smile before digging out her textbook, Felicity took a curious look at the adult lady that was in the room. Was she here to inspect the Healer-slash-Potions Professor?

Also, what were the dogs doing here? Surely they weren't helpful at brewing potions?

SilverTiger 09-08-2017 09:55 PM

sitting with the bestie :P

It still was far from one of her favorite subjects. Maybe if suddenly every potion stopped using creature parts, Stasya would consider it okay, but for now, it was still near the bottom of her list of preferred lessons. Honestly, it was mostly the fact that Healer Reed was now teaching them that she hadn’t tried to drop the subject altogether. Well, that and encouragement from her mama that she shouldn’t give up on lessons before she’s decided what she wants to do after Hogwarts. It would’ve been nicer if Liv had still been around to help her, but she was going to make the best of it. Her need to make people proud was still way too important to her, and if forcing herself to go to Potions accomplished that, she’d keep doing so.

Plus, she got to see Roscoe and Bumi without ending up at the hospital wing. She’d gone over to the dogs first thing, giving them quick snuggles before she’d decided to go to her seat. Next to Emmeline, seeing as she knew her bestie had the same feelings about the subject as she did so it meant solidarity. That and there was just as much conflict about the change in professors, but either way, solidarity. “Good morning Professor” Healer “Reed!,” she said, giving him a smile even as she’d sent a curious glance at the woman sitting near the back of the room. Was Healer Reed being observed for bad reasons? He wasn’t a bad professor at all, even if she really disliked the subject.
