Located not too far from the Muggle Studies classroom is where you can find a space dedicated to all things related to arts and crafts. In this classroom, students such as yourself will be exposed to famous historical and modern Muggle and Wizard artists and strengthen your artistic abilities. Here numerous styles and techniques will be observed, and an array of projects will be produced and put on display for all to see.

When you enter the art classroom, you quickly realize that it is not set up like others in the castle. There are no desks in the vibrantly coloured room covered with paintings and other gizmos and gadgets aplenty. In the centre is a large table that is meant to serve as a universal workstation. Scattered around the room are smaller, individualized tables, easels, and shelves containing a number of books and any supplies your creative mind may need. Tucked in the back is a dark room for developing photographs. Everything in this room is for you to use, so long as you clean up after yourself.

Rosalyn was more excited than usual as she opened the art classroom and started setting things up for the lesson. Today wouldn’t be a normal class for the students; instead of the usual curriculum, they would be sketching things for the upcoming play. There would need to be props and set pieces considered. If things went smoothly enough, they would begin working on the props and models themselves, but this was to be a more relaxed lesson and whatever didn’t get finished now could get done later on.

Once she was satisfied with the set up, she stood by the doorway and waited for students to arrive.

OOC: Hello, guys! This is just a laid back RP that was started for some IC fun and to give you a chance to play out with an extracurricular.

This art lesson is for set/prop production to be used in the school play; namely creating sketches and working to get pieces/models made.

While this is an art class, it is more than okay for those not on the student list to join. They can be dragged along by art student friends or just come on their own out of curiosity or wanting to help.

Basically just have fun.

Since Natalie wasn't part of the play, but her friend who WAS part of had inspired her to participate in more extracurricular activities, the young Slytherin decided to help with whatever she could. And that happened to be arts and crafts. She liked artsy things and she wasn't half bad at them, so maybe it could be fun AND helpful.

Reaching the classroom, but hearing it rather quiet, Natalie poked her head inside the quiet classroom. "Oh, hello, Professor," she said kindly to the lady. "Is this where the art stuff is happening?" She hadn't signed up for anything and just decided to show up, hoping it would be alright.

Daisy loved art so when she heard about this lesson, she simply had to participate. She made her way to the classroom and stopped when she saw an older Slytherin girl (Natalie).

"Hello, are you here for the art class as well?" Daisy asked the girl and then cringed inwardly as soon as she said the words. Her nerves were getting to her somehow.

Most of those that knew Camilla personally would know that she wasn't very good at art unless it involved the use of charms or transfiguration. That didn't mean she didn't enjoy it however. To her art was about expressing ones self and having a good time. So if she could do that this afternoon AND help out with getting things in place for the upcoming play that would be wonderful.

Natalie smiled when the Hufflepuff arrived. "Yes, I am," she replied, and then waited for further instruction. It wasn't long until Professor Steward arrived, and Natalie beamed at her too.

"Yes, we are," she said, just before the Hufflepuff commented on her art skills. "I'm sure we'll do okay..." If not, the professors could, like, fix it before it went up, right? She doubted they would use terrible artwork, so... at the least this class was just going to be for fun for her.

Art class? Olly was there for sure. Painting the set for the play? Olly was definitely there. He loved painting sets. He'd done it for three summers now so he definitely knew what he was doing. "Hello professors," he greeted with a smile when he entered. There were two girls in there too but he couldn't remember either of their names. He smiled at them though.

Olly was in casual clothes that he wouldn't mind getting dirty. There were already splotches of paint on it shirt. It was clear that he'd worn it before while painting. "Do you know we're painting today?" He was not all that familiar with the play they were doing so he wasn't sure what there was to work on. "Are we going to be building some set pieces too?" He'd learned how to do that over the summers. Though it occurred to him that since he was at Hogwarts they could do it magically, which would make it much easier.

Speaking of others... there was another student following soon behind. ”Hello to you, Miss Swann.” Somehow she seemed to be a little on edge; a smile was sent her way and hopefully that would help her to feel a little more at ease.

”Hello, Cami. I would love for you to help out.” That was really sweet of her friend, and the offer was appreciated because with all the props and set pieces being made, the students might need assistance from more than one professor - of course they would be doing the majority of the creating since it was their activity. And there was Oliver getting to the heart of things. ”Hello, Mr Borzekowski-Thomas. We ARE building set pieces, yes. That, and props.” Whatever they didn’t get to in the lesson would be continued during the next one.

Gaston already had his hands full with orchestra rehearsals, but when he heard about the art class happening today, he knew he wanted to help in any way possible! He'd combed over the charms practice room for any spare art supplies he had and rushed off to the art room, carrying a large box.

He shifted the box under one arm as he entered, his bright blue eyes darting around the room. So far he only saw two Slytherins and a Hufflepuff. He smiled, nodding to each of the students in turn. "Hello, Miss McKinley, Miss Swann,, Mr. Borzekowski-Thomas," he greeted. Then he saw Rose and Camo, and they too received a warm smile. "Hello, ladies."

He set the box he was holding on the floor with a soft thump. "I brought these from the practice room," He said, featuring toward the box full of paints, modeling clay, colored paper, and various other art supplies he'd picked up. "Thought you could use the extra supplies..." Then he looked nervously around the room as a thought occurred to him. "I didn't interrupt anything, did I?" He asked. He could always leave; the last thing he wanted to do was create a distraction!

Right. Looked like they were ready to get started. More people would arrive, but for the moment they could lay out some ground work. Before Rosalyn could get started, however, Gaston arrived with some extra supplies. That was rather unexpected, but greatly appreciated. "Thank you so much. I am sure that we can make great use of everything. You are more than welcome to stay for the lesson if you want to and supervise." He of course knew that the students would be doing the real work, and they were just here to look over things and offer assistance when needed.

"Okay, so I think we can begin now. I'm sure that others will be arriving soon, and they won't be missing much of anything. First of all we need to list off everything that we will need for the play - all the props and the sets." From there they could form groups and get started on the sketches. "What sets and props would we need for the play?" Rosalyn wanted THEM to come up with this as opposed to giving them a list - this was their project after all. She was very sure that most if not ALL of them were familiar with the story, and those who weren't didn't have to speak up. It was more than okay not to.

OOC: So sorry for making you guys wait a few days. I was in Quebec from Friday to Monday, so I was busy getting ready and then was busy doing touristy things.

Camilla smiled warmly at the young girl (Daisy). "I wouldn't worry so much about whether or not your artwork is good in the eyes of others. It's all about having a good time and leading a helping hand." That's why she was here right now. Art was something fun and it gave everyone a chance to be creative in their own ways. "Honestly, I'm not very good at it either," she laughed softly hoping that eased Daisy's mind a little more.

Finally several other students walked in and it was starting to look like they had a good amount of people helping out today. Then Rose was speaking to her. "Wonderful! You just tell me what needs to be done and I'll give it my best shot." Camilla laughed softly knowing she sounded like a student in her excitement to help rather than one of the professors. "Hello, Mister Borzekowski-Thomas. Gaston are you going to be helping out also?" It was nice to see she wasn't the other professor here this afternoon.

Cami listened as Rose went on to talk to the students and ask what they thought needed to be done today. She was sure quite a bit could be listed but she remained silent for the time being. She was here to help out when asked.

Night had been shrouding the castle in darkness for a while when the sixth year quietly pushed open the door to the Art Classroom. Her usually bright, alert eyes stared blankly ahead, her movements almost robotic, as she sought out the various pieces that had so far been produced for the play. Artwork for the set backgrounds, props, plans...they all needed sabotaging.

Which what exactly what she did.

She ripped and stomped her way through the pile, knocking over stray paint pots and water jars, leaving no item untouched. Props were crushed, set panels laid broken and splintered. Finished or work in progress, it didn't matter. Quite the mess was left in the Ravenclaw's wake for her small size.

And when she was done, Sam pulled a howler out of the pocket of her pajamas, placing the envelope carefully on a nearby desk. Her attention turned to the door, and she exited as quietly as she'd appeared, silently retracing her steps in the shadows back towards the Ravenclaw tower.

What an absolute coincidence!

Zoryn was on her way to sabotage the play stuff TOO!!!! Only she wasn't being robotic, she was being stealthy. 'Cause there really was no reason to lose MORE points over really STUPID stuff again. That and this plan was all about revenge and it'd go to complete waste if she was caught before she could execute it, y'know?

Only..... When she entered the art classroom and turned on the lights...........

She realized that someone had beat her to it???? AW MAN!!! Zoryn wanted to be the one to mess it all up!!!! WHAT THE HECK!?! Someone had TOTALLY sabotaged her plan to sabotage!!!!!

So her experiment had run a little later than she'd expected and it appeared time had gotten away with her in the process. Typical. Very typical.

Not in any real rush to head back to her dorm now that most of the patrols should have been rounding to a close, Jessa opted instead on a brief midnight snack before turning in the for night. Experimenting was hard work, afterall and she'd worked herself right back into an appetite. Nearing the kitchen floor, the Ravenclaw could hear her stomach begin to rumble and her steps hastened....until she saw...the light in the Art Classroom?

Merlin she knew the play was coming up and there was still plenty to be done but....this was a whole new level of determination.

Abandoning her kitchen plans for the moment, Jessa stuck her head in the room, ready to offer a small hand but......well then.

"Holy kneazle, Zoryn!" She called out, getting to the door only in time to see her kick at a prop and scream. Blue eyes widened at the scene before her and without really thinking, she drifted further and further into the wreckage. "I know you didn't wanna be the ground but...." WOOOoooOOOWOOOWOWOW. "They worked really hard on these, you know."

Laying on the desk where it had been placed was the red howler. By this point, it was agitated. Touching it at this point would be like putting one's hands in flames. It had a message to give that it just could not keep in any longer.

A plume of smoke escaped the envelope. Unless someone opened it, it was only a matter of time before the howler exploded on its own accord.

Generally, when Scarlett heard YELLING, she went the other way - but it sounded like a little kid yelling. And it didn't sound so much like the person was in danger, but more like...they were upset about something. So she was more inclined to go try and figure out what the heck was going on, and maybe try to help if she could. Plus, it sounded like it was coming from the art studio, and she LOVED the art studio! What if something bad happened to it??

Hurrying down the hall, she turned in to the room and took in the mess before her eyes. Geez. Someone had gotten a little...WILD with their project, hadn't they? "What the heck happened here?" she asked, raising her dark eyebrows at the two younger girls who were already here.

That was when...she noticed some smoke coming from the corner nearby. From a table, to be exact. Scarlett froze, eyes wide as she pointed at the plume of smoke that was quickly evaporating in to thin air. "Umm......" was all she could get out.

Had these been all the props for the play? Merlin she hoped not. It must have taken forever to get all this stuff done in the first place. It was gonna need to be all hands on deck to replace this stuff now. Hadn't Zoryn thought of that when she'd decided to get back at the Professor?

"Trashing Professor Myers' office might have been more effective." She stated offhandedly as she leaned over to begin picking up the crushed pieces of props.

Straightening to place all she had on a nearby desk, she caught Scarlett's approach. "Pretty clear what happened here...." Jessa retorted, not at all being snarky but simply being careful about casting blame. There had been a lot of strange things happening lately--even with the students and it just so happened that the likely suspects where usually the ones found at the scene. Take Kitty with the note on muggle equality for starters and now Zoryn, who had obvious issue with the play, being here with the destroyed props.

Turning, Jessa tried to find whatever Scarlett might have been pointing to. That's when she too saw the smoke and it was coming from....was that a howler? Sweet Circe who'd leave their business to blow up here? Surely they didn't want just anyone knowing whatever it was they did that made whoever it was so angry.

Curious, Jessa drifted closer, knowing by nature that if they didn't open it, it would explode on its own and by the looks of it, that time was coming up real soon. "It's...just a howler." She clarified for the Hufflepuff who'd been staring as if she'd seen a ghost. Carefully, she drew her wand and nicked the envelop open, bracing for whatever loud noises would come next.

Man. Zoryn had been SO pumped about her own revenge plan, that she hadn’t even made a plan B in case someone else had a revenge plan too!!!! Dude. If Zoryn knew someone else was gonna take over her fun then at least they could’ve teamed up or SOMETHING? This was SO inconsiderate.

In all her anger, she didn’t notice Jessa’s presence until the girl started speaking... And despite the fact that she was here standing in the middle of a crime scene, after having just kicked one of the mutilated props, Zoryn had NO idea how guilty she looked.

“No offense, but if they worked really hard they should’ve locked this stuff up a lot better,” mhm just an observation. ‘Cause clearly the people who made the props weren’t too attached to them, otherwise they wouldn’t have been as easy to get to. It’s why Zoryn kept her signed photos of Justine kept all the way at the bottom of her trunk, wrapped within winter jumpers. Gotta watch out for precious cargo, ja feel?

The other girl (Scarlett) was like 78% irrelevant to Zoryn at the moment so she was being ignored. Politely. Ahem.

“Oh, good idea, Jessa,” and here Zoryn thought she’d have no plan B. Good thing the Ravenclaw showed up with an alternative!!!! Professor Myers was going DOWN. Much like the set, that had quite literally, gone down. “Kitty’s gonna get in SO much trouble for this!!!” Was she excited? Kinda.

Could Zoryn be the one to get a Professor? She never got to be the hero!!!

The moment the red envelope was opened, it burst into flames. Instantaneously, the howler began to scream:

"THOSE WHO STRUGGLE SPEND COUNTLESS HOURS ON THEIR CRAFT.
TRY PROPERLY MAKING YOUR SILLY PROPS WITHOUT CONSTANTLY
WAVING YOUR WAND LEFT AND RIGHT, DRAMA QUEENS."
While the message was being shouted, the smoke coming from the envelope took the form of a winged animal. It burned until only ash was left on the floor.

Well.....that wasn't exactly....what she was....suggesting....

Were she not completely puzzled by the fact she just said Kitty would be in trouble, Jessa may have taken the time to clarify that she wasn't actually suggesting the Gryffindor go and trash the man's office. Circe, could you imagine? Myers would be beside himself, even moreso than he would be when he found out this bit.

"Kitty? You saw her here? This wasn't you're doing?" Silly question. If Kitty didn't know she'd done it then how would Zoryn remember anything either? The fact Zoryn was coherent at all right now might have been nothing shy of a miracle.

And then it happened. The explosion of noise she'd been expecting that flooded the room and had her ears ringing uncomfortable.

Actually...based on that message....she was pretty willing to believe this might have been Kitty again for real. It sounded like another jab at magic for whatever reason. "Er.....what just........?" Suddenly, this wasn't a little after hours prank. This was just like the blood on the walls and the break ins.....and that bird Derf said they'd found......

A cold shiver ran down her spine as she gave the room another once over. ".....I think we should get a Professor...but at the same time whoever it is might be close by and I don't think we should give 'em the ease of picking us off one by one." Splitting up in crisis was exactly the perfect way to die. She'd seen a few movies here and there. None of them knew what was lurking out there while the castle slept and she didn't wanna find out while walking a dimly lit corridor looking for help--neither did she want either Zoryn or Scarlett facing the same.

Did Professor’s keep their offices locked? Considering Hawthorne had a whole password protection for hers, Zoryn was sure that Myers did some weird stuff to keep his place all locked up too. She’d probably have to find another way to stick it to the man tbh. Why was getting revenge SO complicated?

“I didn’t do it,” she nodded. “BUT Kitty did that blood graffiti last time. Bet five sickles, it’s her again.” The Headgirl was all sorts of weird. Just sayin.

Before she had a chance to say anything else, however, the Howler unleashed it’s fury and Zoryn couldn’t help but make a face. “UM Did it just insult us for using magic… with a howler? What a hypocrite.” Her eyes rolled so hard it almost gave her a headache. Like how was Zor supposed to take the threat seriously when it sounded so stupid?

And if anyone was a drama queen it was the Headgirl for causing all the chaos in the first place. This was like the worst blackmail ever. With that in mind, she looked at Jessa and shrugged. “I’m in! Let’s get Professor Hirsch, he’s the best Professor at Hogwarts ’n his office is closest!!” That and she hated both of the other Professors who had offices on this floor.

Ahem.

Plus she and Professor H were best buds soooooooo he'd be most helpful, probably.

"I'll believe it." Jessa replied with a simple shrug of her shoulder. This was another muggle agenda pushing message if she ever heard one and Kitty had been present during the last one. Zoryn seemed coherent enough to know what she did or didn't do and wasn't at all frightened by suddenly appearing somewhere else. Yep. Had to be Kitty. Wait 'til Professor Hirsch heard this one.

"Let's go wake him up then." Because they'd just decided for sure it had to be Hirsch. If she was gonna wake a Professor in the middle of the night, she'd rather it be the one that actually adored her and wouldn't suddenly blame them without asking questions or fact checking. A lot of Professors seemed to like doing that and suffice to say she didn't wanna spend her night in detention for trying to help.

It was time they had Kitty locked up once and for all. It was like Zoryn said, she was insulting them for magic while using magic and that was just plain rude and hypocritical.

Muggles weren't behind this. They didn't even know what Healers were.
"Come on--shut the door behind you." And off she went down the corridor but she didn't walk too fast as they were meant to be travelling together.

Y’know how Zoryn knew that Jessa was good people? It had everything to do with the fact that she believed Zor right away and that she agreed that Professor H was the one they needed for the job. Man, Zoryn needed her other friends to be like this. Everyone else asked way too many questions.

“OKAY!”

Was Zoryn meant to be worried about all this stuff? ‘Cause honestly this was the most exciting thing to ever happen to this school and the Gryffindor was here for it. Especially if it meant that someone (Kitty) was gonna go to Azkaban. She quickly followed the older girl out of the door and shut the door right behind her.
