The front of the train is the perfect seat for those eager to see, be seen, and get to school FIRST. Avoid the Prefects' Compartment, unless you're looking for trouble, but there is plenty of seating available in these compartments.

SPOILER!!: CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?!

And so, for obvious her-sister-was-reckless-and-could-flash-people reasons, Chloe was determined to find her before things got less than kosher. She'd been practically all over the train before she made it to the front compartments. A few unhelpful first years tried to slow her down but she bobbed and weaved through them like a mean, uncoordinated ninja.
After checking a few compartments Chloe started to get worried. Her sister was no where to be found and she was running out of places to check. What if Clara had decided to climb on the top of the train? What if she had climbed out the window and fallen to her death? What if she was dead now?? Slight panic was happening. Major panic was happening.
The blonde checked compartments with more vigour than before until she finally found her.
And Blaise?
What was he doing here? The relief of finding her sister was stamped about by the annoyance of seeing Blaise's stupid face. And also, why did he have his dumb, ridiculous arm around her sister? And why was he holding her finger like some freaky freak freak? And why wasn't Clara punching him in the face for it? Had she entered some upside down world??
She glared between them, "Blaise, could you not touch my sister? K, thanks." Seriously, could he stop? It was weirding her out. She turned to Clara next, "What's going on, Clara?"

Hah! Just look at her getting worked up while trying to convince him that she wasn't. Merlin, she really couldn't help herself, could she? Blaise laughed, it was all he could do now that she'd gone and told him to shhh. Didn't matter, the fact she wanted him quiet meant he definitely won so he could live with that.
"If you're judging me for days, I have to be on your mind. It's how it works." He informed her, his voice as solemn and wise sounding as he could get it. "No worries, I'm an excellent thought subject." Yup, no need to pretend.
Now, he might have been paying very little attention to her talk of him needing feminists speeches--and he wasn't sure what she meant by putting on skirts and dressing and stuff anymore because most of his attention had turned to the finger poking his lips right before his attention drifted to hers. Yes, that hand was still free, good for it, Blaise was already leaning in................................................ .........................................
The problem with already having his lips so close to Clara's was that he had no intention of widening the gap. He side eyed her, unwilling to turn away. "Chloe, can you jump off the train, please?" Even a please, it was everyone's lucky day--ironic given the fact she'd just ruined things for him. "Go away."
Oh the temptation to smack that smile off of face was SO strong right now. But luckily for he'd resisted, unless she managed to do it SO fast he wouldn't know what happened. Oh decisions, decisions.
No. You wouldn't be on my mind for judging until I happened to see you so any other time, you're not even worth the thought." Ughhh she really hated this tone when he tried to be all wise & what not. "Ha, you thought. You're the farthest thing. You're more of a worst nightmare if you ask me." NO pretending, so HA.
She could tell that his attention had practically gone when she was speaking & she would have used that opportunity to say anything she'd wanted to, until she realized that he was starting to lean in towards her. She hesitated at first but slowly found herself beginning to lean towards him until....
The compartment door had opened again & MERLIN!
It was CHLOE.
Not even barely hearing the lovely exchange that went on between Blaise & Chloe, Clara spazzed unintentionally hitting Blaise in the face seeing as to how close he was to her. She gasped covering her mouth realizing what she'd just done & then looked at him....then Chloe.....then his arm around her shoulders. Clara froze. "Uhhh...What's going on Chloe?" She offered a smile acting like everything was completely normal.

Once she'd gotten over her STROKE, because that was the only logical explanation for what she was seeing right now, Chloe noticed just how close Blaise's dumb face to was to her sister's freckled one. The answer? Too close. Like, snogging level close. Had she missed something? Had she DIED?
Oh my gosh. Did Blaise think because Clara was wearing a shorter skirt than usual that it was okay for him to act like a pig?! Because Clara was not asking for it. Clothes did not dictate that. Clothes were just that. Clothes. And men had no right to judge a woman's wants because of them. #FEMINISM
Or maybe, more reasonably, she was in some upside down world where Blaise was going to, wanted to kiss his sister. But what she couldn't piece out was why Clara wasn't beating him to a pulp. She was usually pretty predictable with the Gryffindor violence thing against men.
What was happening?!
.....and did he just tell her to jump off the train?? Okay, you know WHAT Blaise Bellaire? Chloe Newman was going to jinx his stupid face.
Or, snort, she would have but Clara beat her to it and slapped him right in the face. Which made her lip quirk up into a small smile but as quickly as it was there it was gone.
Because...because...they were gonna snog, weren't they? Because Clara was trying to play it cool with her. Because Clara didn't answer her question. BECAUSE CLARA LIED. And that wasn't very sisterly of her.
Chloe's face screwed up in what looked like a mix between anger and upset. And it didn't do much for her features because they went a blotchy red that highlighted her freckles in a very Newman way.
"I dunno, Clara," Chloe began, crossing her arms over her chest, "You tell me. Why were gonna snog Blaise? You know, Blaise? The Blaise we agreed was, like, the worst person on the planet?! That Blaise."

Personally, he thought that even with Chloe there, things could have still gone swimmingly. It was only a small space between them and if he could convince himself that she wasn't standing there, he saw no reason why this had to go south...until Clara gave him a reason in the form of a slap to the face that had him recoiling from her as quickly as she'd pulled away from him.
Merlin's beard.....what was that for? It wasn't like he'd been doing anything wrong or UNWANTED, except, that slap said different. It disagreed, painfully.
Blaise rubbed at his cheek, looking between the two for a moment. Nothing in his expression said he was fine right about now, in fact, he was possibly livid--for many reasons. Several reasons. One, because Chloe had come in and ruined what would have otherwise been a brilliant way to spend a portion of the ride. Two, he'd been slapped for something he and Clara agreed they liked. Three, he knew Chloe didn't think much of him--no love shared between them and all--but he didn't think Clara thought he was the worst person on the planet.
"She was going to," He spoke up, sounding quite put off by the whole thing as his gaze bore into her, "because she likes to--or I guess I thought she did but maybe not considering I'm the worst person on the planet." At this point his gaze shifted from Chloe to Clara; severely unamused.

Clara panicked. Took a breath. And unleashed the flood gates.
"I...you...I....Well, you see....I mean, the funny thing is and it is funny because. Ha ha. Laugh with me. It's funny."
Pause. Pause.
"OKAY! Look, Blaise you were horrible to my sister. YOU made her cry. And that's messed up. But this...like the me and you thing...it's not messed up. Or I don't know. Maybe it is but I like it. No. Yes? Maybe. AH!"
Pause.
"Chloe, I don't think he's the worst person ever. I think he's the worst person to you. He's just a buffoon to me. And, okay, but see...he's stupid...and has a stupid face...but he has soft lips and....WHY ARE YOU BOTH STILL LOOKING AT ME???"

Maybe Clara was the one having the stroke. Seriously, was her sister broken? What even was that stress-induced rant? All she got from that was an incoherent stream of consciousness, most of which sounded like yelling. It was mostly yelling, to be honest.
Once Clara was done word vomiting, Chloe squinted and tried to figure out what Clara meant. Or if she had gone and had a stroke. Because if Clara was actually having a stroke they needed to get help right away.
Like, ASAP.
Taking a breath, Chloe started to talk slow, so Clara could keep up, "So.........you don't like that he was mean to me. BUT," and this was the big but, "you like snogging him and you think he's okay and you like him? Is that what I'm getting here? Because I think that's what's going on." Was that what was happening? She was so confused.

What.....? No really, what was Clara saying?
In all her rambles, the boy managed to take a few things. Something about making Chloe cry, them being messed up...punching and trains and he was stupid with a stupid face but nice lips. Put that all together and surely you understood why Blaise was at such a loss on just what was happening anymore.Thankfully--and this thankfully came grudgingly--Chloe was there to interpret and bring some....sense to everything that was just spat out.
Somehow it made a little more sense now but at the same time, those were Chloe's words, not Clara's. He'd learned his lesson about believing words he didn't hear directly from the source.
"English this time, maybe? For the stupid one in this compartment that has no hope of understanding otherwise."
That was him apparently. Another adjective to add to his collection he'd gained from her. Though he supposed 'ignorant' being already in the collection meant he didn't need to store this one.

Clara looked at her sister, "I'm sorry, Chloe. I didn't meant to. When he's not being an ignorant buffoon...I really like spending time with him." She glared at Blaise, "Don't get weird about that." She turned her attention back towards her sister. "Do I like him? I mean, I don't know exactly, but.." Turns to look at Blaise before taking one of his hands in his hers. Takes a bit of time before finally speaking, "I mean......I wouldn't mind figuring that out."
The smallest form of a smile formed on her lips once she'd said it before quickly adding to Blaise, "I mean..if that's what we were trying to do..."

SOMEBODY WAS HAVING A STROKE? Maybe it was Clara, maybe it was Chloe but somebody had to be having a stroke because none of this made any sense if it wasn't induced by some kind of life ending thing.
Okay. So, her sister wanted a Bellaire of her own. Well, if history taught her anything it was that Newmans and Bellaires were bad ideas. Because Bellaire boys were hurtful.
But, ugh, she loved her sister. More than she hated Blaise. SO THAT WAS A LOT OF LOVE. And if she wanted to go down this stupid rabbit hole for this stupid boy she couldn't and wouldn't try and stop her. It was a twin thing.
Clara pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed, "I don't wanna see it. Like holding hands is fine or whatever but if I see the kissing I will scream. Wherever we are. As loud as I can. And that's a promise. But, like, ugh, if you must. Fine. Whatever." She just. She got very quiet, "I wish you would've told me."

He'd been doing a very good job of not getting his hopes up. For his part, he'd kept a neutral expression, looking between the two and praying clarity would hit him before he was required to give input. Usually, he was no stranger to talking out of his hat but this seemed like one of those times he didn't want to say anything that could ruin things--whatever those things were....if there were even things...he didn't know.
But then......she was holding his hand and even though she didn't know for sure if she liked him or not, she wouldn't have minded finding out. As mad as he wanted to remain right now, there was a smile tugging persistently at the corners of his lips until there was nothing he could do to stop it.

She waited a bit anxiously as to what her sister was going to say. If there was any opinion that mattered to her it was Chloe's. However, if she tried telling her she couldn't see Blaise...well we all know that Clara would deliberately go against her just to prove a point, as Chloe & Blaise were both fully aware of, no one could tell Clara Newman what she could & couldn't have because she would fight whoever on that whether it be about something they didn't approve of or did approve of.
But to her surprise Chloe was actually alright with it, well for the most part. Of course she just didn't want to see it. "Oh god no, I'd never do something like that to you..Just like I know you wouldn't do that to me." Right? "I know..I'm sorry I didn't tell you, it wasn't intentional at all...I just never got the time to & we saw each other so little, just it slipped my mind.."
The redhead looked at Blaise seeing as to how he really hadn't spoken in a bit & was curious to find out what he was thinking. Though he didn't say much, he at least thankfully he was in agreement with her that he was alright with trying to figure out what this thing was between them. And for that reason she couldn't help but smile, all the while trying to ignore that dimpled grin of his because she wouldn't tell him that she thought it was nice, nope, that'd be too easy.

She loathed that dimpled grin. For reasons. It was almost identical to another person's stupid face.
Chloe pushed that aside- the gross, angry feeling she was flooded with just because he smiled- and tried to be reasonable with her sister. Not happy. Never happy. The very thought of Blaise and her sister figuring things out made her wanna drag her sister away and lock her up in a compartment until she was forty. But she restrained because that wasn't very rational............and, also, Clara knew how to pick locks so that idea wasn't gonna work. She'd just have to deal and try not to throw temper tantrums on the daily.
A tall order. Chloe was mean.
She glared at Blaise so he understood her disdain for him and then turned back to her sister, "I need to leave this unholy place." Seriously, the whole front half of the train was tainted for her now. "Please try not to jump each other before I've cleared at least seven compartments."
With one last glare at Blaise (because ugh why was he snogging her sister, WHY HIM??) Chloe flipped her hair over her shoulder and exited the compartment.

If one wanted to see a content Gryffindor, they needed only take a look at Blaise Bellaire as he sat there by the girl he was figuring things out with. To be perfectly honest, he thought he'd sulk the entire train ride to Hogwarts, then he ran into Clara and thought otherwise....til Chloe showed up and ruined it...but now here his plans were, looking as good as new once more. He'd have liked to say it was a shame seeing her go--but it wasn't. Really and truthfully and honestly, it wasn't.
"So..." He said, turning his attention to Clara again. "Figuring things out..." She could tell him more.

Now, the train was becoming full she needed to find a place to sit. Niomi walked around looking for seat that wasn't packed with people, which almost all of them were. She was getting upset by this she was about to give up and find a place to hide.
In one of the compartments she saw a girl, who looks about her age, siting alone. Niomi didn't recognize her. Was she new?? Wel, let's find out. She walked towards the door and opened it. "Hi," she greeted.
All Autumn can hear are sounds of footsteps and laughter all over the place. She is trying to getting used to being in big crowds especially this because Hogwarts is such a big school to begin with so everyone is just everywhere. She took out her small bag in case she gets a hold of the food trolley later on. That way she is ready to pay the woman.
Then she heard a greeting.
Of course, Autumn is never familiar with anyone at all. Her head turned to face the girl and gave her best smile "Hello." she uttered. Scooting a little bit so that she can enter and maybe sit down. "uhm..." she looked at her "do you want to sit down?" offering the vacant seat.
Azura nodded a bit as she looked at Cornelius and she smiled. Stuff she could understand, she had enough stuff of her own going on that she knew better to press him.. at least out in the hallway..
They could talk when they were in a compartment and she was sure that he wasn't going to pass out.. Because if he did.. She didn't think she was strong enough to carry him!
She let out a soft giggle as she looked at him.. "The way to your heart hmm? You sure you want to tell me that, I could use it." Another laugh escaped her lips as he spoke.. "Well, I didn't think water would be a way to anyone's heart.." She said with a shake of her head, still laughing as he took her hand and led her to a compartment..
She bowed her head as she entered it, "Thank you Kind Sir.." She grinned at him before she set her bag down and pulled out the sugar quills and the water.
"Here you go.. now.. sit down.. and tell me what's up?" She asked kindly as she sat across from him.
Cornelius let go of her hand and slid the compartment door shut before reaching for the water and sugar quill. Then he freely flopped down, his ankle crossed over his knee. He chuckled to himself.
"What's the harm in it? You already know the first way to my heart." She really did. His eyes drifted to Azura's lips and he chuckled again, teasingly. M'hm. She knew.
"Thanks for these, forgot to come prepared myself." And what was up? Would his first question make her forget about the 'what's up' subject?

Clara nodded listening to Chloe as she said she wanted to leave, although she didn't fully find it an unholy place though, she was there. Unless she was talking about Blaise-but that's besides the point! Before she could say goodbye to her twin, Chloe made it so awkward when she'd mentioned the two jumping each other, which was something Clara hadn't even thought about doing until Chloe put the thought in her brain & she was already red in the face before her sister left the compartment. To make matters worse, Blaise added his two cents & now her face was matching her hair.
But luckily he didn't make any other mention of it after Chloe had left. She looked back at him when she heard him speak & bit her lip smiling. "I just...I don't know....That's the best way I could describe how I feel about all of this...this is still very new to me.." Pauses. "But that's why I said...I'd like to figure it out..So I can at least try to understand it.."
So far so good. Brooklyn wasn’t stupid enough to think that the half-closed door would actually stop anyone from peeking into her compartment, but then as of yet, she had solitude. Aside from Tywin, who had jumped up onto the seats and curled up between her legs and the back of the seats she was stretched out on. The Bengal wasn’t bothering her, and she’d begun looking out the window to watch the scenery go by. Last time she’d see it, at least in this way. It was almost poignant, if she actually bothered to thinking that way. She wasn’t sentimental, after all. She doubted anyone would ever have thought she was, either. She was complicated and everything around her seemed to be the same. Some time to think was both welcome and frustrating.
She had only half been listening to the sound of people passing by, since it was nearly impossible to shut out the excited conversations and general overexuberance of both firsties and certain other older students from other houses. Listening meant she’d know if anyone chose to investigate her compartment after all, and the window had provided somewhat of a mirror effect too. She could see the half-closed door, anyhow, faintly.
Her blue eyes had seen the small girl in the glass seconds before she had chosen to step inside, and therefore Brooklyn had taken an intentional second or two before turning to regard her. Obviously that question had been rhetorical, seeing as the girl had then made herself comfortable on the seats opposite her. The compliment had merited a small smirk, though. Why yes, she was strong and she liked to think she was powerful. She hadn’t failed miserably at the charms challenge last term, and she knew she was proficient in potions. She hadn’t had the chance to respond, if she’d been apt to actually do so, before the small girl had blazed on to more topics, however. “In fact, I happen to be a Slytherin,” she finally said dryly, not entirely sure she’d want the girl sharing a common room with her if she was going to stay this energetic. “Brooklyn Andrews,” she added, noting the girl’s name even as she merely looked at the outstretched hand.
Sitting in the train opposite of the other girl she had trouble with where to look first, outside to see the landscape of inside and to concentrate on everything what was going on inside the train. But the next words from the older girl brought her attention back to the topic and her eyes widened. “Cooooool!” She laughed when she heard to what house the older girl belonged. “Only the best witches and wizards have been housed in Slytherin so I want to become one too” told Leesha still grinning and she even rubbed her hands while thinking about Hogwarts.
Then she noticed the cat opposite of her and she looked interested. “Is that you pet? I have a rat but he isn’t afraid of cat’s” she said proudly. “What’s it’s name? Oh, and I’m from the Netherlands so I’m new here!” She looked at Brooklyn and then suddenly her eyes widened. “You are already good at magic right? I want to learn how to make fire, can you do that? Oh, and where are you from?" She sat suddenly upright and eyed the other girl curiously. “When I was younger I once accidently burned my mum’s garden but I can’t remember much about it…” Still smiling widely she looked up at the other girl again and suddenly remembered her dad’s warning to NOT talk too much at once because it would be rude. Sighing she bite her tongue to keep silent for just a few seconds, giving the other girl the opportunity to respond.

Azura smiled as Cornelius sat himself down and she settled in across from him, still watching him carefully. She was trying to make sure he was okay.
Though as he spoke a slight blush graced her cheeks and she bit her lip for a moment as she studied the pattern on the carpet of the compartment for a few seconds. "Mmm, I do don't I? " She said as she finally raised her eyes and smiled at him. "Don't worry, I'll keep it secret, keep it safe. " She said with a bit of a grin as she felt the heat recede from her cheeks. She would keep it safe, he was one of her favorite people.. And she didn't want to lose him too.
Her mind flashed back to the day at the lake and she wondered what would have happened, should she and Chris not gotten together.
Just the mere thought of Chris made the scene on the platform a little to real though, and a slightly bitter smile crossed her face as she took a sugar quill herself and started to suck on it. Hoping the sugar would help ease the panic that seemed to be stirring inside of her. Would she and Chris even last the train ride? Or did he want Mia..
Again.
"No worries, I almost always have a stash with me, though now I'll have to stock up on flavors.. What's your favorite flavor?" She asked him curiously.
Of course, being as excited as she was, Charlotte went to the FRONT of the train. As far to the front as she could so that she would arrive at Hogwarts even sooner! The fourth year was still in the corridor though, it was hard work finding a compartment sometimes.
Dora had her own holiday tan, so she wasn't impressed with or generally concerned with Charlotte's. Really. But she definitely sighed when she saw the bubbly girl just ahead of her. Should she speak? They had definitely been drifting apart since the whole nasty Corbin situation. And yes, the girl still was kind of upset with Charlotte over it, to be honest.
Bygones? No, not yet, but she would try.
"Hey, Charlotte," she called out as she dropped her eyes to the ground. "You dropped something." A piece of parchment, it looked like.

Ah, finding the Good in things was always a plus.
Olivia was in a peculiar mood and because of this peculiar mood, she did NOT have her customary basket of goodies with her. Nope, instead, she was just trekking along with a wary Gus and her hopes and dreams. That was pretty much it.
Yup.
So.
Upon spotting Tory, who she'd seemed to cease being friends with over the course of the first two years, the blonde ducked into his compartment and shut the door with a resounding click!
"Spade." This was said with a certain amount of ridiculousness as she primly sat upon one of the seat cushions. "Long time, no talk."

When Janelle saw a boy about her age sitting alone, she decided to take a shot. Knocking softly on the door, she opened it and stuck her head inside. "Hi, mind if I join you?" She hoped that the answer was yes because, she was already halfway inside the compartment. "I'm Janelle. You're new aren't you?" The newly minted sixth year didn't pretend to know every student at Hogwarts, but she knew faces........and she was pretty sure that she had never seen this boy before. It was always her goal to meet new people and make new friends, so why not start now?
It was a relief that no one else had been inside of the compartment to see his parents making a fool of themselves and embarrassing him so when the train had rounded the corner of the station, Mason sighed and sat back up.
He looked outside at the scenery, wondering what kind of landscape Hogwarts would have. He hoped there was a lake at least. Turning his attention to the door as it opened up, the fifteen year old looked at the girl standing in the doorway and he nodded in surprise. "Yeah, sure, come in" he hadn't expected someone his own age entering his compartment. With luck he thought he'd get a first year with no clues what to do and thinking he was already a student at Hogwarts.
Another surprise. She knew that he was new. A pleasant surprise might he add. Showed she paid attention and he liked that. "You're correct, i transfered from Durmstrang and i'll be entering my fifth year" he smiled. "I'm Mason, what House are you in?" he had heard about the house system.

Vivian was strumming her guitar and singing a soft lullaby-like song to her pet Kneazle, whom she figured had fallen asleep way before she could even hit the first note. But she didn't really care that Marshmallow wasn't even paying attention to her. The blonde simply imagined that her younger sister was the one listening, for she knew Eloise would enthusiastically sing alone and sway her head from side to side. Nevertheless, the music her guitar produced kept her company just fine.
The door sliding open did make Vivian look up for a while. She squinted towards the boy who had just spoken to her, and immediately a smile followed. She knew this guy. He was rather familiar to the blonde. "Hello there! Ethan, right?" the Slytherin asked. She even remembered him with that teddy bear. Wherever was that fluffy thing, anyway? "You don't have to sit for just a while. You can stay for as long as you like." Anyway, it didn't bother her as long as he was okay with her playing the guitar, and the presence of her sleeping Kneazle.
Plus, she had food with her which she was quite willing to share.
It was only now that he noticed the guitar in her hand. Did she know how to play? Perhaps, there was something he could learn from her. Not necessarily actual guitar skills, but rather what normal people did? If that was what normal people did. It was, wasn't it? Either way, music seemed alright to him. It wasn't like he didn't listen at home, he just wasn't sure he listened to mainstream music. After all, who listened to classical music like Beethoven?
The Dixon headed for a seat beside the blonde as he answered her. "Yeah," he nodded. "Viv-vivian, right?" He remembered her name, particularly because he didn't meet people often, yet, also because his brain was good with memory, particularly logistics. As for her later comment, it really made him feel greatful. It was sweet of her,so much so, that it managed to make Ethan smile throughout his awful anxiousness. "Th-thanks. I'd like that very much," his voice was still soft as he sat down.
Then his awkwardness creeped in. What was he meant to say next?
No panicking. No panicking! He had to urge himself. There had to be something he could say...
The Kneazle! "Uh-is-isthecatyours?" his words were slurred into a mumble. So much for trying to appear all confident.

After a moment, Brooklyn had turned her eyes back to the window. She was still listening, but that didn’t mean she had to be looking at the girl while she was talking. Seeing her reflection seemed good enough for her, and as long as the girl didn’t suddenly make a move toward her, she figured she was okay. Maybe a bit annoying with the babbling and all, but there was always the hope that she’d settle down. Besides, she couldn’t exactly argue with the small girl’s reasoning, either. The best witches and wizards actually were Slytherins, in Brooklyn’s opinion. The few family members who had gone to Hogwarts notwithstanding. That was their shortcoming, but she could always say that her parents could have been Slytherins had they gone to Hogwarts too. Her mother, anyhow.
“Well, we’ll find out when you’re Sorted,” she said simply, in response to the girl.
Her gaze flickered back to Leesha when she’d suddenly changed topics, glancing once at Tywin, still curled up behind her legs. “Good on your rat,” she replied. “His name’s Tywin.” And no, she didn’t expect the girl to understand the reference. Plus, she’d already figured out that she was new. Both the size and the excitement told her that much. “Can I make fire?,” she asked, taking her wand out and casting the charm to create bluebell flames for a second before ending the spell. She wasn’t about to burn down the train after all. Not without reason, and there wasn’t one. “London, or California, depending on what you mean by where I’m from.” As long as she didn’t ask to know everything about her. She didn’t tell everyone that. The last one she’d told that was prefect, and she wasn’t planning on extending the privilege to someone she just met.
