When Janelle saw a boy about her age sitting alone, she decided to take a shot. Knocking softly on the door, she opened it and stuck her head inside. "Hi, mind if I join you?" She hoped that the answer was yes because, she was already halfway inside the compartment. "I'm Janelle. You're new aren't you?" The newly minted sixth year didn't pretend to know every student at Hogwarts, but she knew faces........and she was pretty sure that she had never seen this boy before. It was always her goal to meet new people and make new friends, so why not start now?
It was a relief that no one else had been inside of the compartment to see his parents making a fool of themselves and embarrassing him so when the train had rounded the corner of the station, Mason sighed and sat back up.
He looked outside at the scenery, wondering what kind of landscape Hogwarts would have. He hoped there was a lake at least. Turning his attention to the door as it opened up, the fifteen year old looked at the girl standing in the doorway and he nodded in surprise.
"Yeah, sure, come in" he hadn't expected someone his own age entering his compartment. With luck he thought he'd get a first year with no clues what to do and thinking he was already a student at Hogwarts.
Another surprise. She knew that he was new. A pleasant surprise might he add. Showed she paid attention and he liked that.
"You're correct, i transfered from Durmstrang and i'll be entering my fifth year" he smiled.
"I'm Mason, what House are you in?" he had heard about the house system.
