As you walk past Professor Draper’s office, you will notice a large barn sitting behind it. After hearing some funny noises, you step forward to investigate.
Upon entering the large barn, you will notice rows of stables that provide housing for the various winged horses, hippogriffs, and other large creatures. While most of the creatures are doubled up, as you walk further into the barn you will notice a few single stalls. In the middle of the barn there is plenty of open space which is perfect for taking some of the smaller creatures out of their pens to play. You will also notice that along the sides of the barn Professor Draper has provided supplies such as gloves, helmets, buckets, brushes etc for your use. Feel free to stop by and interact with the creatures, but remember that you need to sign a permission form before doing so.
SPOILER!!: It can also cause headaches XD But yes, it is fun XD

But as a Professor, it’d be awfully nice if his students trusted him because despite how fun this Q & A game was, it’d grow tiring very quickly. So he settled with a, ”Eventually,” meaning that trusting someone right away was naive, but that hopefully he’d have her trust come the end of term. And anyways, he doubted she’d accept a plain and simple ‘yes’ for an answer.
Miss Neverwinter was proving to be anything but plain and simple. When she had her mind set on something, she meant it. Which meant that James had to follow through with what he had just said and of course he would, but it was a process. ”We can have that arranged,” right now actually. If she wanted.
And then there she went with that smile again. Could she make up her mind? He felt as though he was always on the brink of a wrong answer. One incorrect statement and he’d be thrown overboard. Er, not that he cared what the students thought. Of course not.
Only her grin only grew wider at his next sentiment, so he had survived another round. Not overboard quite yet. ”I would expect nothing less.” He had expectations of her now. Hopefully she’d hold true to them, yeah?
”I keep them in my office,” he nodded towards the exit of the barn.
Eventually. For perhaps the first time, Amur's expression didn't quirk down in suspicion and the nose twitch didn't happen. It was, on all accounts, an acceptable answer. Not too assuming, but not too lenient either. Just the right amount of trust and confidence. Amur liked it. It made her think that yes, she might indeed come to trust him.
Maybe. Possibly. She wouldn't make that commitment too soon.
For the moment however, all aspects of trust were wiped off the board with the prospect of seeing those papers. Expectations and arrangements could all be put aside. Now was the moment of truth and hard, cold facts.
She nodded. Then realized perhaps that might not be clear and might be a bit too much like demanding. Worst case scenario was that he would, and could, retract the offer to show her the papers. She sucked in a breath. "Now good?"

He liked that she posed it as a question. Maybe because he very well knew that she wanted to demand that they go see those files right away, however, posing it as a question meant there was some sense of respect. Whether or not it was respect out of fear of docked points or actual respect, he wasn't entirely certain.
Before even answering, he began walking towards the exit of the barn. Then, looking back, he gave her a simple nod and a, "Now's good."

Just because it was still winter time and just down right cold out for most people didn't all stop Hadleigh from making her way down towards the barn. A little bit of spare time was what she had right now so why not spend it outdoors or well outside of the school walls anyhow and with some of the creatures. They needed some love an attention too and just because they weren't her 'babies' didn't mean she couldn't visit them or help tend to their needs.
Pushing the large door open just enough to slip inside Hady quietly checked out the area. It appeared she was rather alone and honestly she'd come to expect that she would be as most didn't venture outside much when it was so cold. Slipping her hands into her pockets she made her way to reach little area looking in on what was held inside. Usually it was the winged horses or hippogriffs that seemed to hold her attention the longest but not today. Today she found herself watching the little nifflers scurry about no doubt trying to come across anything shiny that they could take for themselves.

Her love of animals OBVIOUSLY led her to the barn despite the cold weather. She was bundled up and had a warming charm placed on herself as well. YASSSS. Noooow who or what to see first? Hippogriffs? WINGED HORSES?? Dora was kind of partial to them both. SHe did have a mini winged horse thing of some sort at her Aunt Addy's house. HMMMM.
Wandering in a ways she decided to just start with a stroll through for now. Her energy was THROUGH the roof and she basically vibrated as she made her way around. EEEEEP! Now. NOOOOOOW. What was she supposed to do if she wanted to ride a hippogriff.

Even with all the extra help select students had offered, there was always something to do. Always seemed to be something that needed attending to. Whether the Hippogriffs were low on water or the crups wanted to go on a walk... Always something.
And seeing as it was just past lunch, it was feeding time for the Hippogriffs. Which is exactly why James had walked into the barn with a bag full of meat. They were getting a special treat today because he was feeling particularly generous.
Though he found himself stopping upon a curious sight as he opened the barn door. A pogo stick. No wait, it was a girl. A human pogo stick in the form of an overly enthusiastic child. Was it too late to head back to his office? Yeah, probably. But he couldn't remember her name. So.... He only gave her a small nod in acknowledgment. Maybe she'd remind him. And if not, maybe she'd just get freaked out and leave. Both nice options.

Yep. Totally too late to go back, now, Professor Hot Stuff. Mhm. Dora had spotted him. "What's in that bag, Professor? Can I help you? WHAT IS IT?!" Excitement, she had it, bro! And was he going toward the Hippogriffs? WAS HE? Dora bounced a little closer to the man and gave him a sweet smile.
"If I help you do whatever needs doing can you take me for a ride on a hippogriff? Please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Professor." And for good measure she clung to his leg like a koala. He totally couldn't resist how cute and sweet and helpful she was, right?

Noelle had spent the last week trying to catch up in school work. She did most of it outside because that's where she felt most comfortable. The fresh air, open spaces, and light helped keep her calm. It might have been winter but she much preferred it out here.
Needing a break from all the studying, a brain can only take so much, she decided to venture the grounds a little bit. She was by the barn when she saw a familiar figure slip in.
Wrapping her arms closer to herself, Noelle followed suit into the barn and watched Hady for a minute, a smile growing on her face. "You have a way wth animals."

Nifflers were strange little things and yet they had her attention. As different as they were something about them was still cute and whatever it was, was enough to keep her attention focused on them long enough that she hadn't heard anyone else enter the barn. Not until she heard the small voice coming from just behind her. A tiny little voice from a small little baby sister whom she had missed incredibly.
A bright grin forming on her lips Hady turned to look at Noelle over her shoulder. "I've always had a special place in my heart for them, it's what I plan to do with my life." After finishing school that is. That and someday raise a family of her own but that she wasn't about to say. "Come on over and have a look?" She gestured for the girl to come stand beside her.

Noelle had grown up around a lot of animals. Her family owned a huge farm that they really didnt need to go anywhere else because they had everything they needed at the farm. But they were mostly muggle animals. A crup or kneazle in the mix. But Noelle wasn't sure what her big sis was mesmerized by.
She gave a small smile and ventured forward though, when Hady told her to come take a look. She moved beside her and peered. "What is it?" She asked, still staring at the animal.

So.... Take it she wasn't going to leave then? Or remind him of her name? The second issue was something easily solved, he'd just skirt around it. However, the first issue was more complicated than that. If the pogo stick wasn't about to leave, then James would have to find a way to tolerate it. Which, by the way, would be VERY difficult to do given the child's EXTREMELY ebullient nature. "Food for the hippogriffs," if she could stop spitting out questions 1000 miles per hour, maybe he wouldn't hate having to answer them. "Sure," he answered her second question. Not really wanting any of her help, but hoping that she'd calm down if he allowed it. And thirdly, "Raw meat."
... Was she satisfied? Would she stop with the grinning? Had the bouncing calmed down a bit?
Merlin help him.
And just when he thought it couldn't get any worse, the child decided to cling to his leg the same way a drowning man would to a life raft. Only the Creatures' Professor had a feeling he wasn't about to be her savior in this scenario. "...No," Actually, he could resist how cute and sweet and helpful she was. It was his greatest talent.

Hady shifted over a step or two so Noelle had room to stand comfortably as well as being able to see. "Nifflers. Curious little things they are, they like anything shiny," she told her younger sis with a light smile. There really wasn't all that much to the creatures and they weren't exactly the cutest or most exciting but watching them was somewhat fun.
"Normally I come here to check on the hippogriffs and winged horses but I thought I'd be a little different first this morning." Nothing wrong with changing things up sometimes. New experiences were usually a good thing.

Noelle looked at the nifflers and sat beside her big sis as she scooted over. "Anything shiny?" Noelle asked and peered closer at the animals. "They aren't the cutest things." She whispered to Hady and looked at her with a giggle.
"Ive actually never been close enough to a Hippogriff to touch one. Too nervous. They are huge! How do you stay calm enough to let them touch you?" Noelle asked and got up to peer over where she knew the hippogriffs were.
"Its nice that the professor lets us in here though."

SPOILER!!: Adorable lil sis!
Noelle looked at the nifflers and sat beside her big sis as she scooted over. "Anything shiny?" Noelle asked and peered closer at the animals. "They aren't the cutest things." She whispered to Hady and looked at her with a giggle.

"Its nice that the professor lets us in here though."
Hady gave Noelle a light smile as she joined her to look at the Nifflers. "No, really they're not but they are funny to watch at times," she laughed quietly in agreement. There really was no denying that they weren't the cutest of creatures but everyone had their own taste in what they thought was cute. "Yep. A few terms ago down in the Chamber of Secrets one took someones watch and another tried to take a Perfects badge." She couldn't remember names really from that day but it had been funny to see.
WHAT!? Hady blinked at the younger girl in surprise. "I haven't just touched one I've helped to feed and clean them as well, we also got to ride them during one Care of Magical Creatures lesson. It's really amazing. All you really have to remember is be calm and respectful." For her it was easy she had never feared any creature...well until her third year anyhow.
She nodded once more in agreement. Getting to come in here meant a lot for and it gave her a great chance to learn the different habits of some of the creatures.

Seeing as it was NOT her job to remind Professors of her name, she just kept grinning at the man. JUST KEEP GRINNING!! lalalalal. OH! Food for the hippogriffs?! RAW MEAT?! How cooooool! Dora did not release her hold on the man, for she was sure he would give into her request one way or another. Either from exhaustion or her convincing him she was adorbs!
"Cooooool! And are you SURE we can't ride one? I would be EVER so grateful, siiiiir." Like FOREVER would she love him... and maybe even let his leg go and calm down a bit... BUT FOR NOW, she looked up at him, unfazed by his refusal. THEY HAD TO RIDE A HIPPOGRIFF OR SHE MIGHT DIE!!!
He was amazed with creatures inside the barn, this isn't his first time went to the Barn, but his heart beat went fast for wonder far about what will the Professor assigned him next..
He wanders alone inside the barn as the Professor ask him to headed here first.. He walk with mouth open and wide eyes and try to figure out what is he going to do first while the Professor haven't arrive
There are some huge and magical creature inside, can he play with them? or touch them a bit? He wanted to do so, but will the professor allowed him?
His eyes is widen and a smile rose in his lips, he was actually happy could spend time more with these creature he want to know more about these creature

If she kept grinning like that, this was about to be an incredibly long day. He was starting to get a headache already and she had said like five words. Granted, they were the most enthusiastic five words he had ever heard in his entire life. But again, they had really just gotten started here. As he walked even further towards the Hippogriff stalls, he glanced over to give her another look.
"We'll see," which still meant no. Just another more adult way of saying it. Always meant 'no' though. But hopefully it'd satisfy her for now. "You still wanna help with their feed?" he asked, holding out the bag of raw meat. He'd have to teacher her the proper way of doing so, buuuuuut once she looked inside... He was hoping she'd be so grossed out that she'd turn it down. Full proof.

Can he play with them?!? Can he?!? Can he?!?
Yeah James saw that look of complete satisfaction. Too bad there wouldn't be any real interaction with the creatures today. They were starting off real nice 'n simple. "You'll be clearing up some of the dung in the stalls," he nodded. "Go grab a bucket and some gloves... Gloves are optional... But highly recommended." He gave the boy a good look, up-down.
the girl following the professor in silence. Her mind keep thinking about what would she do in the barn.
"What will I do here,sir?"
Her voice drowned by another funny noises. She looked at her surrounding and caught some huge creatures around them. She couldn`t imagine how she will take the hippogriff bath, feed them, and how they might eat her fingers unconsiously.
Merlin.
She stepped closer to the professor. But she still tried to look so brave. She was from Gryffindor after all.
She was observed one of the magical creature when she heard the professor told them to clearing up.
Professor Myers was so nice. It was really comforting, actually, to have an adult like that here, but Jaemin's experience with school hadn't given him a stance to expect stuff like that. His teachers had been good before, but it wasn't like this. Friends were great, but having an adult that was looking out for you and actually cared was nice when you were away from your parents...
The small boy followed the professor from the lake, humming quietly to himself as he walked. A bit of the bounce was coming back into his step, but it was still rather dampened. He'd smiled when the professor had patted his head, too. He had to walk quickly to keep up, because his legs were much shorter than the professor's, but soon they were approaching the barn.
Jaemin couldn't remember ever really going inside of the barn. It was strange to think about it, because... he liked creatures. Especially magical creatures, because there were so many that were brand new to him... he'd known of them, of course, but he hadn't ever gotten to see them and stuff. The small boy looked around curiously, wondering where Professor Draper might be. Maybe he was inside the barn? What if he was up at the castle?

Why was he still standing there?
He had things to fetch.
WE DO WHAT?!?!?!? Is this for real??? Raven widen his eyes and not to mention an open wide mouth with a shock face.. really? Cleaning some dung is his task?!?
"I think i need a shovel too sir" with all the low tone and suddenly he felt so limp and lose all the spirit he was have earlier...
He just lost all his hope to be able with the creature... he might wanna throw all the dung he gathered to professor Draper..

Yes. They were cleaning out the stalls. What wasn't there to believe?
He gave the Gryffingirl! a strange look, before turning his head sharply to address the Slytherin. What. Did. He. Want. Now. Must James spell everything out for them? Honestly, next time he'd rather just throw the lot in detention and let the Headmistress take care of it.... She would take care of it, right? Because he had 0 patience. Rah.
"You can find them along the back wall," he said, nodding his head over towards where the shovels were located. He then returned his gaze back to the young girl. "Any day now, Miss Champbell." These stalls weren't cleaning themselves.

Paul didn't mind the boy's silence. It was cold, but it didn't mean it wasn't a beautiful day. He got to the barn and wasn't...sure...he just had never been inside, really. And he did NOT want to tick Draper off.
"Er..." he looked down at Jay. "Let me...send Professor Draper a patronus...that we need to talk to him," because no, Paul was NOT walking all the way to that man's office. He was out of shape and LAZY right? The bearcat shot out of his wand in a quick, silver motion and was off. He smiled at Jay. "So....you really like nifflers, do you?"

James was sat in his office.
'Was' being the operative term here. Despite the fact that Ariana's posts are normally in the past tense, this 'was' IS intentional because he 'was' sitting in his office and now he's making his way around back towards the barn. The bearcat itself was a surprise, but to find out it was Poncho Paul's patronus... That was not a surprise.
And because there was no exact reasoning specified with the patronus, James was jogging to the barn, which luckily wasn't even that far from his office door *COUGH*. Which meant that if Poncho Paul couldn't even spare a few seconds to walk over, then this must be URGENT.
Upon reaching the two figures, James slowed down his pace and came to a stop. "Ponch--" Er. He paused... Right. "Paul," better "what's the problem?"Kid was sort of acknowledged too but they had a problem to take care of here. Was something going on inside the barn? No scratch that, he wouldn't wait for Paul to give his drawn out, over-the-top, incredibly boring, overly flowery description. The hippy was good for nothing. That much was evident after their first interaction. So James was already walking inside to check. Hippogriffs looked okay... So did the horses... So did the crups and the knifflers and the fairies and alright, someone better provide an explanation and quickly.
They were going to step inside, yes? He walked back over towards his door. Because in these situations, James has learned that one ought to take care of everything themselves. Others weren't as competent.
Jaemin had placed himself very close to the barn doors, as if doing so would somehow subliminally supply him with the knowledge of if there was nifflers inside. It didn't, and it wasn't like they were overly loud creatures when they weren't ransacking a kitchen, so he was unlikely to actually hear them or anything either... still, he listened for sounds from inside, until Professor Myers cast his patronus.
What was thaaaaaaaat? The boy watched with wide eyes as the thing appeared and then took off; he wasn't sure what type of creature that was meant to be, but it was cool-looking, if only because it was so shiny and pretty. He watched it for a long moment before looking up at Professor Myers and nodding with a small smile.
"They're cute! And funny looking, too. I wanted one for a pet, but my dad said I couldn't... so they got me a hedgehog instead." He frowned. "It's not the same."
Wasn't even close.
It took all of what felt like thirty seconds for Professor Draper to appear, and Jaemin stepped away from the doors as the man came running up; he looked between the men when Draper asked what the problem was, not sure if he was supposed to explain it or not, but then he was going in the barn and why was he doing that? The small boy hovered near the door, stretching on his tiptoes to look at everything he could see from where he was.
Coooooooool. Why wasn't he down here all the time? He resisted the urge to follow Draper inside, because he didn't want to get yelled at or anything. Not today, you know? Today was a day for nobody to yell at small Jaemins. It would make him sadder.
"There were nifflers in the kitchen," he said belatedly, and more to the world at large than directly to James. He was distracted by trying to see everything from where he was standing. Probably would have been helpful to be taller.
"Well...m'boy, hedgehogs are really cool, right? They're very sweet, as I remember reading somewhere." He smiled. "But you're right...a hedgehog is no niffler...but I know we have some here...you are always welcome to come visit the creatures here in the barn. It's why Professor Draper HAS a barn for you all!" he beamed and then waved as James approached.
"Well...you see..." and Jay beat him to the punch! "Yes--apparently, Mr. Song here and a few other students saw knifflers...in the KITCHEN...and then they all left?" right, Jay? Paul peered into the barn....
The knifflers were all there.
He rubbed his cheek uncomfortably. "Jay, m'boy, you know for a fact they were knifflers, right?" because he was looking a little crazy right now to James, and Paul knew the man already thought him an insane person. "That's......odd. Well...Jay DID say they took some silverware..." were there any pieces lying around in their section in the barn?
Hmm.

Hmm.
He should've known to ignore the patronus as soon as it had revealed it's owner. Honestly. Couldn't someone else deal with the hippy? James didn't have the patience today. Or ever, for that matter.
And this kid could take a chill pill. The boy looked like he was about to shoot out of his shoes. He knew he was allowed in there, right? As long as he filled out one of the permission slips... Anyways, the point here being that the little Slytherin looked absolutely ridiculous, yet somehow James was convinced that he was even more sane that Professor Peaceful Pants.
.... Nifflers? .... In the kitchens?
"..... Nifflers in the kitchens......?" he gave Poncho Paul an unconvinced look. "MY nifflers in the kitchen?" Okay, what was the hippy accusing him of here. Because no animals have ever nor will ever escape under Draper's careful watch. Not sure how Poncho Paul likes to run things in his greenhouse, but James was a Professional. "And now they're just conveniently back where they belong. How do you suppose that happened?" Yes Paul, please explain. James is all ears.
Because his story sounded completely plausible and highly believable.
Not.
James was not amused.
He turned his attention to the child, "Mr. Song, would you mind describing the incident?" The one that clearly didn't happen. Children were terrible liars, James couldn't wait to point this out.
