The Snakes sit under a beautiful silver and green banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. The food will arrive after the Headmistress' traditional feast speech. To all Slytherins, both new and old: enjoy the feast!
Well this year was going to be different than last year. He had come into last year not expecting anything and had been shall we say pleasantly surprised by all that happened. Dante flipped a sickle up into the air and caught it in his hand repeatedly as he made his way to the slytherin table. No Cutty, No Ethan, also no Zander to annoy. Now what was he doing to do some some of his free time.
Still this year Hugo was a Prefect and that was going to be fun and interesting. Plus he had an idea about getting rid of that Marigold crush he still had. He would have to talk to Maggie tomorrow about it. Make it a project or whatever and see if she is interested in helping. And sometime this term he wanted to ask Eureka out. But needed the right moment. But he did not have to worry about that now. There was gossip to listen to about new Professors and see all the new minions first years coming in.
Dante took a seat and waited for anything interesting to happen. He still remember the term with that pink haired girl and Ruby.
Now that was entertaining stuff.

Raven walk in, with lazy and hesitate.. he doesnt like meet with so many people in the same time, while manners sue him to greet people he meet..
he look around and try to find his dorm friends, at least he already know them, so if he doesnt talked much, it would be just fine..
as he walks in, He saw Dante Barrington, the fifth year student.. he just stood there.. try to decided if he wanted to greet him or not.. Doubt really plays well in his mind..

Dot bopped along to the table and took a seat riiiiiight in the middle. The better to watch the firsties, interact with the other ickles, and keep an eye on the older students.
No, just kidding. The better to have the best access to all of the food.
Dot tapped Dante on the top of the head as she took her seat. "You got a bit taller. Are you glad to be back? Don't you hate that question? There are only two answers, and you get to just loathe the question by the end of the first day back. Forget I said it. Are you afraid of spider monkeys?"
There was a student at the table she didn't recognize, and Dot gave him a little finger wiggle too. Heeeey, stranger.
This wasn't good! This wasn't good at all! Surely the sorting hat was wrong right?? I mean, Jay couldn't possibly be in Slytherin!? Of all the houses it was Slytherin!? And even worse was she got split up from her twin sister!!! The amount of anxiety Ryland must be having right now is probably unreasonable. Jay knew how freaked out her sister got when they were separated!!
Trying to keep her cool, the first year just casually walked over to the Slytherin table. She tried to make it seem at least a little less than obvious she was upset with the sorting hats decision. But like mother had always taught her, just take deep breaths and remain calm. Calm...that was the last thing on the brunettes mind right now!!! In all honesty, she wanted to freak out!! Both in rage at the hat, demanding it to try again, and in sadness. But nope...she had to remain...semi calm at least.
Looking around, Jay saw all the other students, and she didn't know any of them!! This was terrible!!! What would she do? Where was her sister when she needed her?

Was That Professor Paul wearing a poncho and having a banjo on his back and here Dante though he could not be surprised tonight. But that took the cake. Dante was just staring at him and silently laughing until his attention was diverted. He felt staring and people should know staring is rude unless they were good looking and female. Female staring was more than fine.
...well maybe he was not staring. Raven he thinks the kids name was. Don't ask how he remembered that. He can barely remember what he had for breakfast this morning.
"You want to buy some sweets or looking for a place to sit?"
Could be plenty of other reasons.
But eh

Only one person would bop him on his head and that was Prefect Dot. Nobody would dare he hoped. Though he did not care. A bit taller, he thought he actually got a lot taller. He was taller than Maddie and she kept calling him Little Barrington. Which he still constantly found amusing. Dante smiled and answered her series of questions.
"Nice to see you are off to a good rambling start with questions. Would you believe me if i said i was afraid of spider monkeys and only a bit taller. So nice of you to notice."
Now all he needed was to grow another inch or two and look down on everyone. It will be amusing and since his brother and father are tall. It is a good chance.

The feast. Ah, how she loved going to the feast. There was nothing better than coming back to Hogwarts and seeing all the new faces that were going to enter the school. The 16 year old found a spot near the middle-end of the table and sat down tucking a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear. She glances at the table seeing a few first years looking nervous and she remembered that exact feeling when she first came to Hogwarts. It was a lot to take in a first, but instead of being helpful...Cordelia wanted to see what these first years would do.
As she sat silently, she had looked over to the other end of the table and remembered last term after her encounter with someone that she burst right through and ran right to the table balling her eyes out. She looked away from the end of the table and ran her fingers through her hair. New term. Different Cordelia. New term. Different Cordelia...come on girl enough thinking about the past. You're a sixth year now so act it!

Oh no, Dante noticing that he was staring.. well Raven didn't mean to be rude by staring people, he just doubt to sit with him.. And often busy with his own thought..
Raven didn't knew him well.. he just hears few rumour about him.. finally, he took few step in, and try to give Dante a greet.. or maybe not.. He looked upon him and said
"i'll find another seat if this one has taken" he smiled to him, well at least he tried right?

Huh. He was a second year now. It was weird, thinking that it had been one full year since the he had last been at the start of term feast. One year since he had entered Hogwarts for the first time. Now that he was a second year things weren't new and exciting anymore. They were just the same old things that he would see for the next six years of his life. It was weird, and yet he knew it would only get weirder as he saw more and more start of term feasts as he got older. Now was definitely not the time to become nostalgic.
He did remember the start of last term though. Today marked one year since he had been sorted into Slytherin and Ellery had gone to Gryffindor. One year since they had been split up in a way they never had been before. He still was not happy about it, but he was learning to live with it. It wasn't like he had any other choice. Speaking of Ellery, he glanced around for her. They had gotten separated on the train and he hadn't seen her when it was time to get on the carriages. He had been a little preoccupied, and now he owed her time at the feast. But seeing as she wasn't there yet, he did not feel bad at all about heading straight for the Slytherin table. That was where he belonged, after all.
"Hey Dante," he greeted with a grin, as the older boy was the first person he spotted when he reached the table. There weren't too many people sitting yet, but the few milling about were not people he recognized. He smiled at them all the same. "Hey guys!" He was all for making new friends. And what better time to do it than the very first day back at Hogwarts? He sent them another friendly smiled and looked around for someone he knew.
"DOT!" There was definitely someone he knew. As soon as he spied the Slytherin prefect he bounded over to her. He slid down onto the bench right next to her and squished himself against her side. It had been too long, and he missed her. "I missed you over the summer." Of course he had, that should not be surprising. Olly suddenly remembered that the Slytherin boy prefect had graduated last term, which meant there would be a new one. Someone a fifth, sixth, or seventh year? Olly peered down the table, but the only one who fit that description so far was Dante and he was noticeably badge free. Inheriting an underground candy business was probably not high on the list of things that would earn someone said prefect badge. Olly refocused on Dot. "Who's your co-prefect this year?"

In spite of the fact that Dante wore his 'too cool for school' all over his dumb face, he was not, in fact, too cool to follow the rules. And rule number one? Don't flout it in front of the prefect! "Could you not sell candy to the ickles in public? At least have a little tact. Break rules in closets and dark corners, and NOT sitting next to her at the feast.
He couldn't earn any ill will from her, though, when he took her rambling in stride so well. She was tempted to muss his hair, but restrained herself. "I don't ramble. I always get where I intended to go. And you're not allowed to grow any more... and what's so scary about spider monkeys? That's weird, Dark Dante."

Roommate alert! Dot grinned at Cordelia and gave her fellow sixth year a finger wiggle wave. "Welcome back! Hope you had a good summer." Ugh, she'd been trying so hard to avoid that platitude, but it just kept popping out. There was literally NO good answer for it, and it made people feel like they had to tell you their life stories.
She should hurry it along so Cordelia didn't feel like she had to explain her summer. "Dante's afraid of spider monkeys. Ridiculous, isn't it?"

"Olly!" It was her ickly Olly Bean! Dot let him squish her, and she happily squished him back. Even if he was ages older than her own little brother, Olly was a Bubba surrogate for her. Someone to dote on and adore and spoil, and probably poison from glitter consumption... but no. Olly was smart enough not to eat glitter. Or lipstick. Wasn't he? She gave him a searching look before letting him go.
"I missed you too. I hope you had grand adventures, and we'll have to plan some of those for ourselves this term. My friends and I always plan adventures... do yours?" Because that was the point of living... trying stuff. Failing, trying something else, being alive every second of it.
As for fellow prefect... Dot glanced up the length of the table, but no sight of him. "Hugo. He's that blond fifth year who looks like Asgard spit him out. Too handsome to be allowed."
The NEW young Slytherin proceeded to make her way to the house table, this was sure going to be the beginning of an era Rosie was sure going enjoy. Plopping herself down, she glanced around at everyone in her surrounds. You'd figure this firstie would be nervous or torn with loads of anxiety, but that wasn't the case this young girl. Nope, not at all. She noticed a few people she wanted to targe and get aquainted with besides her dear Cornelius Baltazar.
Hello people!

Rosie nodded at the young girl "I'm Roise." Oh yeah, this was happening. "What's your name?" Rosie expected an answer. That's how these things worked, I ask you one question, you ask me another and so on..blah..blah...blah.
"Pretty cool house, huh? I've heard loads of good things." Rosie continued, trying to break the ice. One of those good things being her dear favorite guy, former Slytherin Prefect Kennedy Escalante.

"I'm Rosie." Rosalinda also nodded at this young older girl. "What's your name? What year are you in?" Again she needed an answer...and again that's how these things worked. You ask me and I ask you.
Sliding slightly over plopping herself near both girls, she rested her chin on her fist. "I like your hair." Rosie gave the older a small grin. Just small talking, y'know?.

OHHHHKAY.
Ariadne sloooooowed down a few notches, because once she got over the excitement of being sorted into her brand new house, she realized very, very quickly that she knew NO ONE. Where were all the familiar faces she'd met in Diagon Alley and on the train? Had none of them been sorted into Slytherin with her? Now THAT would make dorm life boring. She had been sorted pretty early with the beginning of the alphabet, though, so there was still time.
So where were the house prefects that were supposed to be welcoming her with open arms?! Okay, not open arms--that'd be weird. Maybe with a high five, though? Or maybe a 'Come sit here, so you don't look like a big loser' offer. Nothing, though. Nobody. Okay, so she was just going to have to own this one all by herself.
She walked right up to the house table, gave what she hoped look like a 'friendly but not too friendly' smile, and said, "Hi! I'm Ariadne!" Hopefully that would be followed with, 'Nice to meet you, Ariadne! Please come sit here!' Haha. She wasn't going to wait for that, though. Then she really would look like a big loser. So instead, she sat down amongst Unfamiliar Face Number One and Unfamiliar Face Number Two. These were her housemates! Her new family for the next seven years!

Feast time!
Sorting time!
And the start of her fifth year.
There was a lot riding on her shoulders this term but nothing could unnerve her right now. Hady was exactly where she wanted to be. Stepping through the doors of the Great Hall her hazel eyes swept of each and every table in turn. It was easy to take notice of the many changes up at the staff table, Headmaster to Headmistress as well as several new Professor. Each term brought about new professors but had it ever been this many?
Pulling her gaze from the staff Hady let her eyes linger a moment on the Ravenclaw table sending a small grin to anyone she knew there. The same went for all those badgers sitting over there at the Hufflepuff table, the table that brought about some heartache upon not seeing her bigger siblings there. Gosh she missed Lux and Adi...Benny too. Trying to shake away the sadness as fast as it came she let her attention move to the lions. Grins were sent to each of them, Zeke and Maggie included. Whoa! Maggie was sitting with the lions? Since when. Probably just wanted to be close to her boyfriend or something which she honestly couldn't blame her for. Speaking of which...Hady scanned the Gryffindor table once more, twice more and no signs of a certain blonde haired male Prefect. Where was he?
Not seeing Frankie anywhere and not wanting to intrude on Maggie and Zeke, Hady let out a breath and continued on to her own table. Those there that she knew already, Dante, Dot and Oliver both got a small nod in greeting from her. The others she didn't know well or were new firsties each got a nod as well. Selecting a set dead center at the table was the best way to be able to keep an eye on everything. Which she was going to be doing even as she slid down into her chair and tucked her hair behind her ear. Right now she was silent but her attention was fully there.

After being moved back to the CORRECT table, she looked over the table of Slytherin. Feeling dejected from her moments prior, Lilly began to try to speak to someone looking as lonely as she, but to no avail. Lilly sprang from the feast, rushing into the entrance to hide.

He sighed and felt some sort of relief. Usually it is the anxiety getting here that drains him out or makes him on edge. He thought he was going to make the train this term but here he is. He saw his table and smiled wide. He was glad the hat put him with the snakes. It was a great fit for him. He nodded to all his fellow Slytherins he met the year before. He gave a nod to Hady and the famous Dante, his female Prefect whose name was Dot. He found that an interesting name but he wouldn't judge none the less. He saw some newbies here he never saw before. But then again he was a newbie too still...
He sat down at his table and began to look around. He saw the staff table and he thought he saw some new faces. He squinted and tried to see if he could pick some out. I mean he had a while to wait for his food to appear. He might as well look at the staff table and the sorting ceremony.

Wow. Tough crowd.
Nobody had replied to Ariadne yet, which made her kind of nervous. She'd had no problem making friends in Diagon Alley and on the train! She was starting to have seconds thoughts about Slytherin, because as much as she loved it, it seemed that all her friends had ended up in a different house. The hat HAD tried to put her in Gryffindor, after all.
She glanced up and noticed a boy with an expression that was probably similar to hers. "Hey!" she said, giving him a small smile. "You new here, too?" Why did everybody know everybody except for Ariadne?! ...and for this boy.

When the person next to her suddenly sprang from the table and took off running Ariadne blinked in a bit of surprise. Maybe she was feeling the effects of the tough crowd, too. Or maybe she had wanted to be a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw. "Are you okay? Come back," she said, gesturing for the girl to come back to the table. They'd be eating soon, so she didn't want to miss that!
Besides, Ariadne had heard the scary woman from the train was in the entrance hall, so people did NOT want to head that way. Nope.

Finally.. a hint for Raven to turn his back from Dante and move.. a girl, maybe a first year, calling him and smile..
"i'll just take a seat with that girl over there" he said to him, Raven didn't care if Dante actually listen to him or not.. He just wanted to walk away from there.. Dante's aura kinda scared him
"hi! no, i'm not, how about you? first year?" he smiled at her
"my name is Raven, what is yours?" he takes a seat next to her..
great, now Raven manage to talked and take a seat with someone.. a huge improvement from last year.. he must be proud of himself
he looked at to the another girl, next to the girl who has greet him earlier.. he didn't knew her either until then she suddenly prang from the table and running, made him a bit surprise..
he hears the girl is calling to the other one for come back..

Hello, hello, Hogwarts. Guess who's back, back again? CAL IS BACK, BACK AGAIN. With a full head of metalhead hair, if he failed to mention before. The confidence in the thirteen year-old was radiating. The boy managed to pass the whole summer without his parents saying a word about his unkempt appearance. WINNERRRR.
Calrissian slipped into the table next to Dante, because technically he was part of his squad, okay? Maybe Dante doesn't think so, but technically. Technically. He looked around at the new and returning Slytherins. Dot prefect. Other people he didn't care about.
After the Sorting Hat had grunted at him, Cornelius turned toward the table that would be his for the next seven years. Too bad he wasn't Gryffindor, he would have paid to see the look on his dad's face. He could picture it now. Turning as read as a tomato then slowly turning purple like an eggplant. HAHA.
Didn't mean he could still owl his dad and tell him he was sorted into Gryffindor. He would need to first ask Johnathan to film his dad's reaction.
Meandering toward the green and silver table, he watched with curious eyes, his lips tugging into a smile. "Heeellooo! New Slytherin here." Where was the cheering and the welcoming, hmm?
OH LOOOOK! NO FREAKING WAY!
His arm stretched far into the air, waving at his one and only best mate. "Rosie! I made it!" He tugged at the Slytherin emblem on his robes and pointed at it. See that! Could she SEE?!
Altha realized almost immediately after she'd sat down that she had sat without asking, and without knowing anyone. After the hat had bellowed out Slytherin, Altha had been so surprised and concerned with giving her Gryffindor brother a stern, confident look that she didn't bother to ask where to sit.
Now, completely aware of this, she stared around the green table with her dark hazel eyes. It looked like she'd sat herself around a first year girl, who looked quite excited. She also saw the face of a boy she'd briefly conversed with near the fountain in Diagon Alley. Apart from the boy, all the others looked either just like her; a slightly confused first year, or an older student, who looked particularly intimating, though Altha refused to show that.
Althas ivory toned hand pushed back her thick, black hair behind her shoulder, and she scooted closer to the table, settling in. Lifting her eyes, she peered around the table and spoke steadily, "Hello."
Being friendly, open, and inviting were NOT strong suits of Altha (unlike the rest of her family), and at this moment, she sort of wished she'd picked up on those traits. Hope of a response briefly crossed her face, but were quickly wiped away by her determination to stay in her usual calm and confident state.
Hugo was walking down the Great Hall with his head up high. Yes, sir. He didn't felt any different now that he had a badge on his robes, he just felt proud of being a fifth year. Not that it was anything big but whatever. He was happy, okay?
He greeted in general, "What's up, everyone?" new and old Slytherins. "To the recently sorted Slytherins, welcome to the best house!" of course. He saw some firsties around the table and after his experience in the train with those two little kids he wasn't sure to approach them. Better watch out.
And now, where was Dante? Riiiight there. Hugo sat down next to him and gave what's up nod "Ready for more girls this term?"
Merlin Dot he was not going to sell sweets in front of you. Maybe the other Prefect but not you. He had more common sense than that. But there was no harm discussing it. "I'm not going to sell candy in your presence unless you are the one buying. No harm is discussing it though" Though seemed like Raven had no idea what he was talking about and was not taking a seat. Oh he was asking. "Well its not currently taken. But you might not want to deal with the girl or the other Prefect who might want to sit here. But you can if you want"Oh look there was Ellery's brother. Which reminded him he had to talk to them and Cal if he was going to show. You never know.
"Hey Oliver. What's Up"
See rambling, but yes she always got the point and the journey was interesting. So he enjoyed it. "Sorry to say Dot i might be growing a couple more inches. Brother is over 6 feet tall and i want to equal that at least" Sigh he was only kidding about the spider monkeys and now rumors were goign to spread. Not that he cared and it was a pretty amusing rumor at that
"I am terrified of spider monkeys. It is a fact"
See she was even telling Cordelia he was afraid of them. "Don't listen to her Cordelia." But he was smiling from being amused by itall. Now the question is will he be known as the slytherin who is afraid of spider monkeys. Next he saw some first years. Though one (Ariadne) was brave enough to say hi to them. Even tell them her name "Hey Ariadne, i guess welcome to Slytherin. Though it more the Prefects job to tell you that. I'm just the guy that gets on their nerves" Next he saw Hady and give her a smile and nod. The party was really fun over the summer and seemed she and Frankie are getting along very nicely if rumors are true. Though he should ask Maggie if they were true because she was the gossip queen and would know. Which begged the question of why as she over at the Gryffindor Table.
Oh right, nevermind. Then he got a nod from a younger snake (Colt) That he did not really know or cared enough in the past to know. He got an nod back. Good old slytherin nod. AND look who finally showed his face. Cal was making an appearance. Thought he would just slither away to the dungeons until they got the password."You know i don't often like long hair. But for some reason it suits you Cal. Must be the metal influence"
Whoa that kid (Cornelius) was just saying Hello. Must be a first year. Didn't any pass down the slytherin nod. It was like this houses thing. Besides never winning anything like Ravenclaw recently. It was sadly true. "Yeah Yeah Hi new slytherin. take a seat. or sit with her. Name's Dante" Dante said point at another first year.(Altha)Why did it seem like they were being invaded by first years this year. Just seemed like so many or he was just imagining all this and did not care enough previously to notice. Let's go with that.
PREFECT HUGO FOSTER. Finally making his appearance. And he actually did have to talk to him once they were back in his dorm about certain things that happened on the train.
"Of course. That is what this term will be about besides those nasty OWLs at the end. Also i have to talk to you once we get back to the dorm"
Certain things involving him and Eureka. He was being himself and she went along with it and boom something happened. So yeah. They needed to talk.

Ilia found her way to her table after what seemed like a journey that took longer than ever. The disappointing train ride with a bratty new ravenclaw disrupting her boyfriend time, him having new duties and being ever more popular.....and no Adi to be Mr. Bubbly grifferpuff to make her day 20 times better. No Adi to come back here to either, and her boyfriend all caught up in his duties...........the decently tall sixteen year old did her best to find an unoccupied section of table at the end to sit alone at.
The emotional demi veela snakette flipped her long blonde locks back and crossed her arms as she watched the people filter in. She recognized a few faces, prefects, that Dante guy that sold candy now instead of Cutty. A whole pack of baby firstie snakes seemed to have slithered their way in too. She quietly observed and simply waited for the feast to start and hopefully end quickly enough. She wasn't in the mood to eat or be bubbly right now.

Henric felt bad. He hadn't been neglecting his girlfriend now, did he? His prefect duties had him all caught up and busy, he only had a few moments to spend time with her at the trains. Only now he was free from his formal obligations and decided he should pay the slytherin table a visit. When Henric finally spotted her sitting alone at the end, his eyebrows knotted together with concern for her. Why was she looking down like that? He gulped and fixed his hair once more before slowly walking up to her. He gathered she hadn't touch her food once too. This was a sign. An ominous sign, that he might be the cause of it. "llia...I'm here..why haven't you touch your food.?" he asked softly as he put a hand gently on her shoulder.
