Post 3 (would never admit it to her tho XD) Quote:
So, maybe he should have chose a guy to be his partner in the first place but since they were wearing protective gear he figured out that he wasn't going to hurt her that much. Her first move was to grab his wrist and his instant reaction was to pull away and then aimed to the temples. Of course not that hard. Heh. She was okay, right? RIGHT? |
Post 4 Text Cut: BanaBatGirl This was so much FUN! Ariadne had forgotten all about how horrible it would be if this ACTUALLY happened to her. Right now, she was having a BLAST playing the victim and letting Davie be the bad guy. They probably didn't have enough time for her to play the bad guy, but next time, she called DIBS! She liked doing pretend scenes with Davie, too! He was a LOT of fun and really got into character! Okay, back to 'Victim Ariadne'! Ariadne half-laughed in a 'real Ariadne' and 'pretend Ariadne' kind of way. On one hand, Davie the PIRATE was forcing her away, but on the other hand, real Davie was walking her through the steps. She decided to throw in a line or two from 'fake Ariadne's' point-of-view. "NO, NO, I promise I won't come back! Please let me go!" she exclaimed. "I'm going to Hogwarts for the very first time ever!" Ariadne twisted her wrists around to follow Davie's movements. OKAY, COOL! She had it! She was just glad they were practicing, and she didn't really have to gauge Davie's eyes out. "Thanks, super-awesome-Davie!" she said. "I DO want to try it again, but I want to be the BAD GIRL!" |
Post 5 Quote:
"You'll definitely have to be the baddie next time," Davie agreed. "Or we can practice dueling sometime. Up to you!" He chuckled and looked up to the board, confident that the professor was probably going to be wrapping things up. Good activity though; he'd learned something. Maybe even a few somethings. |
At this point, Hirsch didn't even want the lesson to end. Walking around and stopping every now and then had given him the chance to look in on the fights individually. It taught him a lot: like the fact that even the shyest and frightful of students were willing to throw a punch and a kick in the name of self defence. And the fact that some probably needed a bit of practice but that was And Daxton Prince seemed to have a personal vendetta against the dummies. What did Roderik do? Pretend he hadn't seen, of course. Instead, he smiled at a successful Miss Guidry, silently glad that he'd never have to face her in a battle what with those groin kicks she'd given to the dummy. Then, his eyes landed on Mr Salander and he tilted his head. "Are you okay?" Pause. The man gave the mat a small flick, making it extra cushiony, before continuing, "I'm going to end the lesson and when I blow my whistle, the dummies are going to freeze. This dummy will let you go. Get yourself ready." Three. Two. One. TOOOOOOOOOOOOOT went the whistle. At that instant, every dummy froze and let go of whatever they were holding before retreating back to their original spots behind his desk. "OKAY! I'm afraid that's all we have time for. Thank you for coming, it's been a pleasure teaching all of you. I hope everyone's gotten a better idea of how to defend themselves if they get into a situation where they can't use a wand or don't have one on them." Not that he hoped for any of that but you could never be sure. "CLASS DISMISSED!" OOC: JKHFGJKDFHGKJDHFG OHMYGOSH THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING AND MAKING THIS EASIER FOR ME AND ILY ALL! I've had SO much fun with this and I hope you all did too! Thank you thank you thank you! :loved: :loved: I'll leave the thread open for another dayish if you wanted to post your charries leaving. |
Oh thank the Basilisks!! It was over! Azura laid back on the mat.. Exhausted. She pulled off her mask, still some dried blood on there from her nose and her lip, and her wrist was aching.. But it was over and she had mostly done it! Ugh.. She couldn't move.. Everything hurt! Hospital wing.. Party of one? Could someone help her up? She didn't really wanna lay on the mats all day! |
Still getting her baring back after being punched moments before, Esme listened as the Professor dismissed the class. "Nice working with you, sister." It was always a treat, pain aside. At least it was starting to fade? Giving a big sigh, she straightened out as she waited for the rest of the feeling to vanish. Time for them to get something to eat? Food sounded amazing to her right about now, so Esme smiled as she took off all her padding and placed it back where it belonged. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor." You know...despite the fact that he had totally discarded the wands and made them fight physically. At least she had learned how to free her wrist and hurt someone in the process; that was a VERY valuable skill. ... What was Azura doing lying on the ground? Frowning slightly, she headed over and offered her hands out so that she could get up. "You all right? Do you need the Professor?" Or the Healer? She wasn't looking so good... |
Esme :) Azura was mentally calculating how long she would need before she felt able to get up, when a face appeared over her and she smiled warmly up at Esme She gratefully took the other girls hand with her good arm, and nodded as she got to her feet. "Thank you Esme, I might have been down there for awhile longer." the purple eyes girl smiled a bit.. "And I'm.. Mostly all right? I feel into a dummy and smashed my face on one.. And then I pulled my wrist down instead of my elbow and.. Yeah it hurts.." she admitted softly. But she was mostly fine. |

The face thing sounded pretty bad too, though. No wonder there was some dried blood there. "Do you need the Healer?" |
Well, this was going well. She was now the rope in a tug-of-war between two dummies. Her arms were starting to hurt. The biggest problem was she had to escape from one of the dummies...in order to... escape from one of the dummies. At least way Hirsch wanted us to do it. But maybe she could get one of the dummies to let go if she hits a pressure point. Haddie realized the fault in that. Both her hands were restrained and being pulled in to different directions made it hard to angle her body to actually kick one of them. So that was kinda hopeless. Maybe she could try stomping on ones foot. That might work. Unfortunately, Haddie soon discovered that the protective pads were actually quite limiting to her range of motion. She couldn't even reach the foot of either dummy, let alone stomp on it. And then, suddenly the dummies let go. Just like that. Professor Hirsch was dismissing the class. Haddie frowned, and rubbed her wrists. She'd wanted to figure out how to escape, but apparently time ran out. Too bad. "Thanks Professor! That was a fun class." Haddie grabbed her things and skipped out of the classroom. |
Text Cut: Azura and Esme And then this happened. Merlin. No, no, no, no, NO. Of all the things to happen during his first lesson, this was not meant to be one of them. Sure, there was a risk of accidents and minor injuries and he would've been crazy if he didn't expect backlash but this? Again, Merlin! Frantic, Roderik moved swiftly between the crowd until he reached the two girls. "Miss Kennedy? Are you okay? What happened?" His eyebrows were furrowed as he eyed the blood on her face and the way she was laying down on the floor. If luck was on his side, she wouldn't need a Healer or the Hospital Wing. |
Text Cut: Esme and The Professor Azura bit her lip a little as Esme asked if she needed the healer, she was about to respond when.. ACK.. The Professor ran over to them.. Great! Azure bit her lip a little and nodded. "I'm okay Professor Hirsch." She said in a small voice, she still remembered his frown at her earlier, and somehow she didn't think this situation was going to help his opinion of her.. "I uh.. well, tripped and fell face first into the dummy and smashed up my face, and then.. I pulled on my wrist instead of my elbow and.. uhh.. now that hurts a bit.." More like it was throbbing.. but she could move everything.. so probably not broken.. And she was sore all over.. This was worse than when she had fallen off the wall in charms!! |
post 4 finishing up and heading out Austin was ready. He had the thoughts of his sister, and his mother's voice in his mind. The teen started by giving a swift kick to the front of the knees. Although it didn't stop the dummy, it did slow him down a bit. Now he had an understanding of how to kick. One swift movement. He thought. That's all it takes. Too afraid to try to break free from the wrist hold, he tried another defense tactic. Instead of kicking the knee, he decided to try for the neck again. Trying to remember what the board had said, he bent his thumb in, and kept his fingers straight. With one swift movement, like he remembered, he karate chopped the dummy in the neck. And... Nothing happened. It was still slowly pulling Austin. Maybe if this were a real human and not a dummy, something would have happened. But since the objective was to get out of the wrist hold, he figured not much else would stop it. Now is the time then. The moment he dreaded had come. He wasn't really ready to get out of the hold, but then again he knew he couldn't stay here forever. It would be pretty awkward trying to pull the dummy into the common room. Taking a deep breath, he took a step forwards, bringing his elbow down. When he saw that the dummies wrist was locked up, he pulled his arm up to get out of it. Sadly, it was done shakily, so the dummy only stopped. It might have loosened his grip, but Austin was sure he was just making it up. Before he could try again, the dummy let go of his hand and backed away. At first he thought he had done it. But it turns out that the class was just over. Relief swept over him, but he realized this was going to be something he needed to practice. Rubbing his wrist he grabbed his messenger bag. "Thanks professor, hopefully I'll get better at this." He was definitely going to have to head to the training room in a few days. |
There was another loud TOOT of the whistle, and all the sudden the dummies came to attention and retreated back to where they came from. Well, THAT was kind of cool! Ariadne almost wished the professor would call the dummies back out again just blow that whistle a second time and let her watch them all retreat again. Class was being dismissed, though. "That was a cool lesson, Professor!" Ariadne said. She didn't quite master the moves, and if everything had been real, she would have died for sure, but it'd still been cool. She gathered up all her things and headed toward the door. "Byyyye, Davie!" she told her partner. Too bad he wasn't in the same house she was in. He'd pretty much be returning to the very TOP of the castle, while she'd be heading to the very BOTTOM. Complete opposites. With that, she headed out the room and toward the Slytherin Snake Pit. |
reply to Hugo/post 4 (of course he wouldn't), and then the professor Quote:
She had tightened her grip as he’d tried pulling away at first, but soon enough he’d broken free of her slender fingers. She’d dodged to the side as he’d suddenly aimed for her temples, though. A glancing blow happened, but nothing significant. She’d just given him a bit of a look, when suddenly a whistle sounded. Text Cut: ze professor Apparently the class was over. Brooklyn hadn’t needed to hear Professor Hirsch announce that, quite loudly. She hadn’t taken any time whatsoever to remove the headgear, followed rather quickly by the rest of the padding. If anyone thought to attack her now, they’d be surprised by her reaction. She certainly wasn’t about to cower like some people, and that had nothing to do with what they’d learned in the lesson. She just wasn’t apt to show weakness. That and she knew that anyone who thought they could bring it out in her was stupid. Last term’s lesson on the Killing Curse didn’t count. Going over to collect her things, she was tempted to tell the professor ‘you’re welcome.’ She didn’t, however, but she was going to remain polite. Even if so far he hadn’t shown her any reason to be. “Have a nice day, professor,” she said instead, sending another glance over Hugo’s way just to see if he was still waiting for another reaction from her or if he’d gotten the point that the lesson was over. No attacks for her, it seemed. Unless that was going to be their homework, but she doubted that. |
And class was dismissed? Oh boo. He was actually really enjoying it. In fact... could he just do double DADA and drop Astro or HoM for good? Yes? Because it would be infinitely more useful for him. Stretching out his arms somewhat, Zeke slowly meandered back to retrieve his bag, slinging it over one shoulder before making his way to the exit. He passed by the Professor first though, cause, respect. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor, see you around." For sure. Like in your office. And with that, Zeke departed. Heading straight back up to the common room to change. |
Janelle was standing guard over her dummy, waiting for him to start Round Two. All of a sudden, the end of the lesson was announced and the professor was blowing his whistle. It seemed that Janelle didn't have to worry about being attacked further because this fight was over. When the words "Class Dismissed" were spoken Janelle gatered her things and went over to speak to the professor. "The class was awesome! I really learned a lot. Thanks professor." Besides, what better way to get out all of your frustrations, than to beat down a dummy. Now Janelle could go out and be the nice, sweet girl that she really was. |
Even with the ear muffs on, Daxton still heard the shrill piercing sound of the whistle, though much duller than it had been before. He did not, however, cease his assault of the dummy just yet, and instead gave it another few full force punches, just to get as much of the aggression out of his system as possible while he had the chance. Finally, chest heaving as he took deep breaths, Daxton forced himself back away from the dummy, scooting off of the thing so he was sat on the floor beside it. While Hirsch spoke to the class, Daxton held his hands up before him, palms facing away, and inspected his knuckles where he could feel a dull ache starting to radiate. Whatever Hirsch said, the Ravenclaw ignored (not that he could hear it in any case) and spent the time flexing his fingers and letting his anger simmer down. By the time he looked up, many of the class had made their exits, which was as clear an indicator as any that they had all been dismissed. Daxton took another deep breath, glancing across at the dummy he had incapacitated, before he too rose to his feet. Not acknowledging the professor at all, he grabbed his things and took his leave, now much jumpier than he was when he had entered the room, his heart thumping wildly. |

So without further hesitation, she approached Azura and Hirsch, "Excuse me, I can take you to the hospital wing if you'd like" Tia smiled kindly in offering. Because the healer was probably best for minor injuries.... |
The Professor and Head Girl had wandered over, so Esme figured that she probably wasn't needed anymore and it was time for her to head off with her sister. She was getting hungrier. "I hope you feel better soon, Azura. See you later. Bye, Professor." And with that she grabbed her stuff before heading off with Juno. |
SPOILER!!: This Hirsch-y deserves kisses xD Tenacius was wriggling his arm and his leg "This is NOT what I meant." he retorted at the dummy. Now he knows what a towel feels like. But oh theres the Professor coming up to him "Uhm... I'm fine." he replied casually, although obviously that is far from actuality. Oh but wait.... It looks like the Defense man was gonna get him down..... ... And there goes the whistle.... F L O P! goes the curly top on a heap on the cushy ground. He bounced back up on his feet exuberantly, then gave a big THUMBS UP at the professor "I'm OKAY!" he beamed but quickly shot a look at the manhandling dummy. You havent seen the last him Pinocchio. He grabbed his things and ran up to the Defense instructor "Thanks Professor! But I'd keep my eye out on that dummy over there..." he whispered not so secretly as he pointed at his dummy "... has a knack for playing dirty." Nod nod. "See ya tomorrow Mistah H!" |
The sound of a rather loud whistle caught Hady's attention. Wha' the-? Flinching a little at the suddenness of it she glanced around allowing her gaze to fall upon their Professor. The man with the whistle from which the annoying sound had come from. Class was over. Already. Well alright then. Hady gave Kitty a small grin before removing the protective gear she had been wearing and returning them to the box from which she had gotten them. Gathering up her parchment, quill and books from her desk the girl put everything away into her bag before slinging it's strap over her shoulder. "Thanks for an eventful lesson Professor!," she called over her shoulder making way for the door. It was time to grab something to snack on in the Great Hall. A lesson like that was sure to make her hungry. |
For sure this was one of Kitty's favorite classes now. Normally she had not been expecting to like DADA, but today she had actually learned something and it felt great. "Bye Hady!" Kitty smiled back at her helper. "Thank you for being my partner." She hoped she would get to see her again soon. Then she walked towards Professor Hirsh and thanked him for the lesson. "That was a really fun lesson Professor Hirsh!" She grinned at him."Those were some really cool moves. Well good bye!"And she turned to leave for the Great Hall. |
Jaemin had continued poking the dummy in the eyes until the professor signaled the end of class; before he could stand up, the dummy simply rolled him down to the mat so it could stand and amble off with the others. "Rude!" Jaemin yelled after it, sitting up to shake a fist after it. He rolled himself to his feet and set about brushing off his clothes before moving to collect his things and bouncing up to the professor. "Thanks for the lesson sir!" He chirped at the man. Even though he hadn't liked the grabby snuggly parts very much, it had been informative. And now Jaemin knew how to fight big people. Useful. |
Text Cut: Goodbyes Text Cut: Azura, Tia and Esme She was okay. She insisted, with blood on her face, that she was okay. Hirsch didn't say anything for a moment. Instead, he studied her face, especially the nose area. It was much more sensitive to damage and was one of the most likely to be hurt and if that was the case...... ......... no. Just no. Thankfully, the Head Girl had arrived. "Yes, take her to the Hospital Wing, please." He had a feeling that the Healer would do a much better job of healing than him, anyways. "Do me a favour, Miss Mancini, and let me know how she's getting along?" Especially if she gets better. He needed to ease his mind. Speaking of the girl, he turned to Miss Kennedy and said quietly, "You will be okay, yeah? You don't look like you're too badly hurt." Bloody lip and hurt wrist aside. "Will you be able to get up and walk or would you be more comfortable with a stretcher?" |
Esme, Professor Hirsch and Tia! Azura's purple eyes went even wider as the Head Girl appeared and she offered to take her to the Hospital wing! She slowly poked at the floor with a finger and sighed softly as she felt it was hard as a rock, no falling through the floor today to save her from embarrassment! She turned and waved at Esme as the other girl left, her one lifeline.. had just walked away and now here she was with the Head Girl and the Professor.. "I'm really all.." But her protest seemed to fall on deaf ears as the Professor told the Head Girl to take her to the Hospital wing, she supposed it was inevitable.. She would have to go there one of these days, might as well be now. Azura nodded her head just a bit, the movement seemed to jar her face slightly,"Yes Professor Hirsch, I will be okay." This wasn't her first broken nose.. Her first broken nose by dummy perhaps, but not her first broken nose! "I can get up, I was just rather exhausted, it was my first time fighting." She answered honestly as she sat up a bit just to prove that she was all right..Though slightly dizzy! Physical activity was not her forte.. she felt like she had limbs of jello currently! But she could walk. She got up to her feet and "I can walk just fine" She hoped.. She needed to walk out of here with at least some dignity left! |
