Stationed on the shore of the Lake, with light reflecting on them from the floating pavilion on the Lake, are three beautifully decorated carriages, following the theme of the Masquerade Ball. There are comfortable light green leather covered seats wide enough to accommodate two. The carriage themselves are all painted in colours of leaves during spring time. The unusual thing about these carriages is that there seemed to be no space for coachman but there are the majestic forms of Hippogriffs tethered to the carriages, one Hippogriff for each.
Step right up into the carriage with someone or solo if you choose to ride alone. Either way the Hippogriffs will lead you up to the front gates of the castle on a path which is decorated to look like a forest. There is no need to bow or make eye contact with the Hippogriffs or even tell them where to go. The moment you are seated, they will begin the journey and bring you right back out to the Lake once the trip was completed. Be on the lookout for any exciting plant or animal life and enjoy the ride!
OOC: Please feel free to let your charrie be creative in what they see along the path but it should not be anything too extreme.
Blech, she wasn't a fan of this spell situation. She had no problem talking to people she didn't know, but when you'd made a ton of effort already through the years picking out the ones that were worth your time, it was kind of annoying, and she'd come here wanting to spend time with her friends and what was wrong with that? She felt... at a loss, being so anonymous. Anonymity felt too much like irrelevance for her liking, and that didn't feel good at all.
Ruby hadn't planned on coming out here alone, but she wasn't having as much luck as she was accustomed to inside. APPARENTLY her face was useful when it came to attracting male attention. Not that she hadn't known that, but like, she was okay with a bit of objectification SOMETIMES, and she looked nice in her dress, right? Anyway, she'd decided she'd try and do the carriage thing.
She waited for an empty one, and hopefully company so she wouldn't be sitting in one all alone and lame.
Lame was soooo not her style.
As Kace suddenly saw someone (Emmy) wasn't feeling well. He climbed out of the carriage and took her back up to the castle. He felt bad the girl (Emmy) wasn't feeling great but he'd rather have her in her bed getting better than you know puking on the dance floor. He still had the one girl as his carriage ride and he wanted to try and get someone else on it. He saw one girl (Ruby) that looked like his age. He even remembered seeing her somewhere.
He tapped her shoulder and hopefully he didn't startle her. "Excuse me miss you can join me in my carriage since one of the girls left because she felt ill.." He hoped it wasn't his date he was trying to find but you never know.

Even though Dot hadn't found her friends (or had she? she didn't knoooooow), she wasn't ready to be done with this party. Her dress was pretty, her shoes sparkled, and she had been mistaken for the Headmistress. It was a good night. And now it was going to be even better, because the Bluebird was going to ride in a carriage.
By herself if she had to.
"Get outta my way," she informed the prefect person who was manning the booth and being really chatty and probably had people who would ride with her because she hadn't lost her friends in the crowd. Jerkface. "I'm fine riding by myself, but if someone wants to ride with me, then I'm great company and also very hilarious and I don't smell at all, actually." So just saying... someone should ride with her so she didn't have to ride alone.

Combine that with the fact that Tora still hadn't apologised to her, and she was alone, ticked off, and out of her element.
So, the obvious reaction was to be as standoffish as she possibly could. Instead of getting into a carriage with some almost-friends who hadn't seen her but probably would have accepted her anyway, Adrienne huffed out an annoyed breath and stepped into an empty carriage.
Only it wasn't empty.
"Oh, hey," she said apathetically. "Do you mind? Sorry, I didn't realise you were there." And wow, while she was trying not to care about anything she did have to admit to herself that the girl sitting across from her was gorgeous, and Merlin was that a cool mask and glove-thing. She tried to squash the jealousy in the pit of her stomach and tugged at the edge of her skirt slightly, feeling inadequate having just thrown on the only dress she owned and braided her hair.
ooc: oops! I hadn't put her in a carriage yet, just waiting for one
She didn't realise she was... here? What? How could anyone not realise there was a Ruby right here? This never happened! Well at least it was a girl, that would be the worst if it was a hot boy being all shady like Ruby totally wasn't the eye-catching extravaganza she'd intended to be at this event.
Sigh.
"Its fine though we can totally get a carriage together..." But like, they would wait for others too, right? Cute boys for instance? Totally, right? Wingsistas? This girl could even have whichever one Ruby didn't want one too. She flashed a bright smile at the girl.
Ruby clearly had her priorities in line.

"Ill? Gross." Had she vomited? Were Ruby and her other random companion (aaetha) being invited into a gross pukey carriage? She eyed the boy doubtfully. "Did you do something to her? Like, is it even safe?" Because she had her doubts and didn't find this to be a particularly promising opening line.
Was the carriage at fault? The boy? Something else? These were important answers to discover, which very much effected whether or not she wanted to join mr. good boy hair or not.

And the night was getting even better as he heard the voice of a young female student. A long grin became apparent and he blinked several times as if the gust of his dairy cow-like lashes would've caused the adverse thoughts his mind was forming to flitter off and away. Still wearing the smile, he stuck his head out of the carriage and replied with a dishonest, "No, but thank you."
She didn't really want him to answer that question honestly, did she?

H'mm.
H'MM.
Redheads.
"Merlin! Yer talkin' 'er ear off. Joost get in, blue behrd of chatty-ness." He called to the one sharing her life story (Dot) with the badged witch from inside his carriage.
Noel was still grinning when the girl spoke back. WELL. He shrugged, "yeaah, amazing too, yeah" He was a guy, so his 'pretty cool' equaled 'amazing'
He nodded, "I think we can" he said, looking around to see if they needed someone's permission. He didn't think they did. He wasn't THAT thrilled to be getting on it but so far the party had been a total bore for him so he might as well do this. And the girl was excited enough for the both of them.
Moving to stand beside the carriage door, he turned to look at her and offered her his hand she could use to get on it, "Mi' lady," he said, bowing his head lightly.
PFFT. This boy was NOT excited enough. At least not in her eyes. But Maggie was excited enough for both of them. And probably the rest of the people currently standing by the carriages. Them too.
SHE WAS REALLY EXCITED OKAYYY???? THIS WAS SO COOL!!!
AND OMG SHE'D PICKED THE RIGHT COMPANION!
Beaming at him, Maggie stepped forward, lifted her head like a princess and took his offered hand to get on the carriage. "Why, thank you." CUTIE! Once inside she looked out to see if he was coming too. He better.
This was not something you did by yourself after all.

Hey, don't blame this boy if he lurked around here so much. Hippogriffs were HIS creatures, man. That and the fact that he owed it to Thompson to make sure the Griffs were well taken care of. And so far, yes. They were. After doing the whole bowing and eye contact thing, he stood there patting one of the beauties.
"You and the others are doing a great job tonight. Keep it up.'' He maintained the eye contact as the Hippogriff watched him back with those fierce orange eyes. Adi grinned broadly. These creatures were soooooo awesome, yo. He could hardly wait to have a whole lot for himself in a few years time. "I bet there will be lots of treats for you guys when you're done here.'' Or maybe Adi could go get some for them just to be sure they weren't too hungry. There were dead ferrets and stuff somewhere close by in a container if he wasn't mistaken.

Noel was glad she was excited enough for the both of them. He wouldn't have done this, if she didn't remind him so much of Sunny. So he may have not been able to find anyone he knew but at least he found someone who reminded him of someone.
How pathetic.
He smiled, helping her on the carriage.
Noel then contemplated joining her or letting her be. It didn't take him long though because he honestly had nothing better to do. Getting on the carriage, he took a seat opposite her and looked around. Wow. They really went all out.
"So. What do we do now?" He assumed she knew better.

ooc: Oh my bad! I must have misread. Let's say that Adrienne just bumped into her or something I guess.
Adrienne took a step back from the girl she was still standing uncomfortably close too. Whoops. Well, at least she seemed nice enough, if the smile and the pardon was anything to go off of.
"Thanks," she replied, forcing a smile herself. See, she could still be happy and have a good time without Tora around. She could make other friends, and then never have to look at that miserable little goblin again except to laugh at her from a position of being much happier and prettier and surrounded by cool gorgeous friends. And then if she grovelled, Adrienne would maybe forgive her and her stupid dented astronomy thingamabob. Maybe.

Oh, and there was someone else. A boy. And wearing a pretty neat feathery mask, too. "Hi there," she said, with a smile and a small wave. And then... someone was ill? Aw, the poor thing. Oh well, more room for Adrienne and her glamorous new companion. "Was she ill, like, sick? As in, did she throw up or anything?" Because that would be gross. And she was not going to go anywhere near the carriage because she was always sick when she saw vomit and everything just spiralled down terribly after that, and that was so not what she needed right now.
Hopefully it was fine though. Miss Cool Mask next to her certainly seemed interested enough, as it was.

"Headmistress Truebridge?!" Oh Merlin, this was embarrassing. "Um.." Yeah, she couldn't think of anything to say. She was also frozen in place from the embarrassment, so exiting the carriage was out of the question. Meep. Was her face red?
Ah, yeah, she knew she had blown it as soon as she had messed up pronouncing 'fellytone.' It was CELLYTONE, wasn't it? Dang it!
"I never did quite grasp Muggle Studies as well as the real Professor Moxley," the Headmistress drawled, slowly removing her mask from her face and looking evenly at Heather. "My apologies. But I think it goes without saying that this stays between us, yes? Ten points to Gryffindor if so...."
So she wasn't above bribing students. So what.

Mellow as, Cutty watched with his mask atop his head as the Bluebird girl crawled into his carriage and seemed to be exploring it. In doing so, he realized himself that it wouldn't be a bad place to store something temporarily. Though, that was probably not her intention judging by the way she began their immediate-space encounter with a look familiarly known to him as a morte glare. It soon gave way to a slightly less familiar grin, which was punctuated by by a set of dimples on either side of her face.
"I am lonely. Very, very lonely." He said as he pulled down his mask pretending to hide the loneliness he did not feel behind the black and gold jackal. The accents of it matched the gold around the lapels of his not-quite-adult-sized suit. He might have gone on to tease the little Bluebird about her chattiness, though truth be told that an information hog like Cutty wouldn't have minded a bit that she had much to say, but then the badged girl went and said something and the little Bluebird was back in the queue.
His jackal mask adjusted back onto his face, he stuck his head out of his carriage once more. This time, addressing the badged female (Marigold). "Oi! Yew've costed me a companion! Are yer going to fill in fer her, then?" Cause those were the rules...that he just made up...and would probably break himself if their positions were traded.

Gabriel Banner did NOT like magical creatures of any kind. Just so they were clear...but that had lured him out to the carriage rides, more so. Everyone remembered his vomiting and fainting in CoMC from the term before, right? So, Gabe was sure no one would expect him out there now; fraternizing with the hippogriffs.
They weren't the prettiest animals...and the smell was hideous....buuuuuut it was an enchanting idea, nonetheless. A charming beginning (or ending?) to a magical night. They (the Prefect team) had done well.
Feeling the effects of the calming draught beginning to slowly wane, he found himself staring at one hippogriff in particular. It was an interesting shade...and there was a boy lurking close by. Said boy was speaking to them.
Gabe just watched him. If someone was having negative reactions to all the magic, he'd want to be there...to subdue? the person. Looool, just kidding. The thought of Gabe subduing anyone was completely laughable. The struggle would be real not to run away and hide...after the forest incident.
So, moooar watching. What was this one up to?

Still patting the Hippogriff, Adi's thoughts were now on AJ. He had managed to slip away from her after a while at the dance floor since he had his prefect duties to do. But he would be able to find her later. Speaking of finding people... he hadn't gotten a chance to attempt to hunt for his guy besite. Ah, well.
Maybe he should stop by the Photo booth next to check on things. Oh, no wait. He wanted a picture with the besties too. So, it all boiled down to finding them both. More pats for the Hippogriff. “I think I should get something for you to chomp on. I’ll make sure your buddies get something too.’’ Yup. No starving the awesome Griffs.
The Hufflepuff turned to trek off to the side of the carriage rides. Where were those ferrets and birds, hmmm? Oh, hello! Who was that watching him? Squint, squint. You know that feeling some persons got that they were being watched? Yeah, well Adi never had the luck to feel that. Hehe. So, he was caught completely off guard.
Hey, at least it wasn’t a masked murderer or anyone of the sort, right? The person was too far away for him to figure out if it were a Professor or a student. But one thing was for sure. It was a guy. “Heya, dude! Wanna say hello to the Griff here?’’ No need to be afraid. The creatures were the best, yo.
It'd been an evening filled with unearthly music and living interaction...but it was nearly time to disperse for sleep and dreams.
Midnight drew near.
Lifting his bow off the cello strings, Bergerus moved forward; indicating that a hush fall over the captivated crowd. The other members of the Quartet also ceased in their playing.
"It's been a pleasure playing for you all this evening." They weren't quite finished yet...but they had been asked to remind the party-goers of a bit of business in the back. "Do remember to vote for your 'Best Dressed' choices...A dashing boy and a lovely girl each, please."
Eventually he did come in though and Maggie smiled. Good. She definitely wanted company and he seemed to be pretty cool.
"I don't....know." SHOULD SHE KNOW? She probably should. This was her area of expertise after all. So what did they-
That was when the carriage suddenly started to move. "We enjoooooy." Hehe. Yes. She grinned at him. "And wave at the other people outside. Like we're royalty." They kind of were too. Well, SHE certainly was.
Okay.
So that was it, wasn't it? They were suppose to be just sit inside while the carriage moved. He nodded when she stressed on the 'enjoy' part. He couldn't help but grin at the 'royalty' notion. "You really are something, aren't you?" he commented, leaning back and watching her.
The whole carriage thing might not excite him as much as her, but at least he could watch her be excited and be amused.
When suddenly the music cut off for an announcement, Noel frowned. ""How am I suppose to vote when I can't figure out who is who?" The prefects might have not thought this through. "I think I'll just vote for you," he announced, with a nod. She looked pretty, she was excited - she should definitely win. He needed her name, of course!

Hear the clock strike midnight;
it's time to see if your guess is right.
The Cinderella spell has been lifted;
now you can see to whom you drifted.
Unmask yourself and look around.
The best costume will win a crown!

Hehe. Yes she was.
Maggie beamed at him and nodded. She was definitely something. Something awesome. Something cool. Something unique. Something beautiful. Something...okay she was running out of adjectives but SOMETHING EVERYTHING GOOD. Yes. That. Hehe.
She listened to the announcement too, eyes widening slightly. Wait...there was a Best Dressed award thing? HOW HAD SHE MISSED THIS?? WHY WAS SHE NOT PARADING BY STAGE FOR PEOPLE SO SEE???? Her eyes focused back on the boy after staring at something behind him for no apparent reason. "You-
DING!
"-should."
DONG!
What was that? Maggie wasn't entirely sure what that meant. So she glanced out of the carriage for a moment, then back to Noel. Wait...Noel? She blinked. "Heyy!" Grinning she leaned in slightly to look at him more closely. Seriously? How had she NOT recognized him earlier?? It was SO obvious.
After a selection of songs to close out the night, it was finally time to announce winners for this Best Dressed affair. As for the votes...just moments before, the enchanted birdcage stuffed to the brim with folded bits of paper, had completed it's voyage to the stage. The student leaders had made quick work of counting them. Once. Twice. Thrice...just to make sure!
Calling for a cease in the music, Bergerus stepped forward once more and struck a chord on his cello. Did he have everyone's attention?
"...and we have winners! How exciting..." Being handed a piece of parchment, the old ghost cleared his throat. More of out habit and excitement than necessity. "Ms. Ruby Banner, Ms. Sophie Brown, and Mr. Tobias Fuller-Thompson." Lifting it gaze, he trailed it over the captivated audience. "Congratulation are in order for those two lovely young ladies...and that very dashing young fellow."
