The National Space Centre is one of the United Kingdom's leading visitor attractions that is devoted to space science and astronomy. It is located in the city of Leicester, England.
The group lands in the large parking lot just outside of The National Space Centre, hidden from all muggle gazes thanks to some large shrubbery. Hopefully no one has become too queasy from the trip, but if you have those bushes are right there to...you know...help you out. After handing the portkeys back to Professor Flamsteed, he instructs you to remove your entry ticket and to follow him. REMEMBER! Under NO circumstances are you to break the The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. Approaching the ticket gate, the professor beams over his shoulder as he demonstrates the "proper way to hand over an entry ticket" by handing it to one of the muggle staff present - who gives you a perplexed look before uttering, "Welcome to The National Space Centre. Have a safe flight!"
Once inside, Professor Flamsteed instructs you to pull out your guide maps you picked up while still in the Astronomy classroom at Hogwarts so that he can go over the various activities he hopes you will be sure to take a look at before needing to catch the portkeys - now safely tucked away in his enchanted breast pocket - back at precisely 3:05 pm from the same location in the muggle parking lot.
ACTIVITIES OOC: you do NOT need to do every single one of these activities for full participation credit for this lesson. I would like you to pick AT LEAST 2, ideally 3, and RP accordingly. There is no real post minimum for each activity as long as the content is there. Just have fun with things and, remember, your character is in MUGGLEDOM.
Please also feel free to look at the official website for the National Space Centre and click through some of the other things the place has to offer. I am taking a few liberties with some already existing exhibits there (and making up some of my own) - just work with me that the same thing in 2014 is there at 2085

The Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium is the largest in the UK and was opened in 2012 by the astronomy hero Sir Patrick Moore to a packed house.
Each show combines the latest edge-blended video technologies, sound and computer animation to immerse you in a full 360º fulldome cinema experience for no additional charge!
The show currently playing on this day is one 2014, which was brought back by popular demand, titled We Are Aliens.

Rupert's face does not appear in the film as far as I know, so it is just his voice.
he iconic Rocket Tower at the National Space Centre is home to Blue Streak and Thor Able rockets, as well as the Gagarin Experience, Apollo Lunar Lander and real Moon Rock.
The semi-transparent tower, which is clad in high-tech ETFE “pillows”, was designed specially to house the Centre’s largest artefacts, including the Blue Streak and Thor Able Rockets.
here are two pieces of Moon rock on public display in the UK and you can see the larger of the two at the National Space Centre. There is less than 1,000kg of Moon rock on earth, which makes this small artefact one of the most precious items you will ever see.
This Lunar sample was collected by Apollo 17 Astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, from a large fractured boulder near the rim of Shorty Crater.
Tranquility Base: The Moon Walk

Create your own postcard of you jumping on the lunar surface to owl home!
The area is set up with staff around to assist you as you strap into the special "seat" that will help you feel as though you are jumping on the Moon. After jumping around for a bit, the photographer will take your picture and then, using the magic of muggle technology, make it look as though you really are jumping on the Moon!
You may elect to wear one of the provided astronaut costumes if you desire or take the picture as is.
OOC: if you want to manip or draw a picture for this you may do so for possible extra credit.
Tranquility Base: Astrobotic Mining

The ultimate lunar challenge to see how much moon rock you can load using the digger before their time runs out.
A large arena with glass walls that prevent any entry stands before you. Behind the glass is a replica of the look and feel of the Moon's surface with various funny looking robots placed about it. After speaking with one of the muggles manning the area, you are handed a remote control to one of these replica Astrobotic Moon Diggers that you can then maneuver around the area to dig and scoop up "moon rocks" that must then be brought back to the appropriate labeled space station (Player 1, Player 2, etc) all the way to the right of the arena. You have 5 minutes to try and collect as many moon rocks as possible. If you do a stellar job then maybe, just maybe, the one of the muggle staff will let you take home a moon rock.
which is not a REAL moon rock, but a fabricated one that is...er...almost as good as the original?
Not too into mining? You can also try your hand at using another remote control to land the Lunar Lander on the Moon!
Tranquility Base: Astronaut Training

Think you've got the stomach to be an astronaut?
Brought in special this year, the ATX (Astronaut Training Experience) is where you can put yourself to the test and see if you have the right stuff to become an astronaut. Immerse yourself in the exciting world of today’s astronauts with realistic astronaut training. You will hear first-hand from a veteran astronauts, experience a space shuttle mission simulation and perform hands-on space exploration activities.
The area is set up in a rather extravagant manner with two activities simulating a capsule out of control and experiencing weightlessness respectively.
Round off your visit with a meal under our amazing rockets in Boosters restaurant. Serving a selection of freshly made and locally sourced sandwiches and snacks, as well as hot and cold drinks and our chef makes fresh soup everyday.
And of course don't forget to check out the Cargo Bay shop which stocks a full range of fun and interactive space toys, books, games and telescopes!
Checking his sundial watch, the professor gleefully announces that everyone is free to go about as you please...KEEPING CERTAIN THINGS IN MIND! And mentions something about living long and prospering, but by then you are probably already off and running!

There will be a very short homework assignment following this lesson, but consider this (with the addition of homework) the same weight as a final.

Ian heard the announcement over the loudspeaker. He frowned a bit as he'd obviously taken too long with the astrobit mining and rocket tower moon rock viewing. He turned and headed toward the exit. He stopped at the gift shop on the way put, making sure to get something for his mum. He purchased a small replica of the U.S. Saturn V rocket. His mum was enameled with the idea that people had actually gone to space in a rocket that was all motor and very little human space. He was intrigued about his astronomy classes and he did his best to tell her about the non magical parts. She'd be pretty chuffed to hear how this trip went. She went on and on and on. He'd made sure to take a couple mobile photos and sent the, to her throughout the day. He'd had to explain the first coup,e of years that his mobile didn't work. He finally learned to tell her there was no cell phone signal there and she would have to use the owl post to communicate with him.

Jasmine was disappointed that she had not gotten to see everything that she wanted to see at the Space Center. Well quality over quantity, she guessed. Unfortunately she hadn't gotten a chance to see the Rocket Tower. After eating lunch beneath the rockets, she had really wanted to see them up close and the moon rock. Oh well, maybe she would get to visit another time.
Holding tight to her bag of souvenirs, Jasmine made her way out of the building and headed for the parking lot. She surely wasn't looking forward to another portkey adventure, especially after experiencing the spinning chair. Jasmine saw some of her classmates also exiting the building and making the trek to the parking lot. Before they knew it, they'd be back at school. Jasmine reached the parking lot and set her bag down. Now she just had to wait for everyone else to arrive.

The line was moving fairly quickly, they strapped people in and moved them about, and THANKFULLY they'd all been decent with their posing and not waiting time in getting down. "This is going to be so awesome." Clearly. Obviously. It was one of those saving the best till last situations.
When the attendant taking the photo exclaimed NEXT in their direction, Zeke hurriedly pulled Hady with him, abandoning his gift bag just to the right of there they would be staging the shot. "Let's do this," he grinned to Hady, letting another attendant strap him onto a seat thing which would have him seemingly suspended in midair. It could have been more comfortable though... boo.
He gave two thumbs up. One to Hady, and the other to the people running the show. He was good to go! Ready for take off!!!

Hady couldn't keep the grin off her face as they moved swiftly forward in line. In nearly no time at all they were both at the front and the attendant was calling out NEXT. That was them! Dropping her bag down lightly off to the side beside Zeke's bag she allowed him to pull her along. She let go of his hand in order to be strapped into the seat harness thing.
Tugging on a strap to make sure it was fixed tightly she nodded her head. With a huge grin she gave a thumbs up to Zeke her partner in having a good time and another to the attendant person. She was psyched up and all ready to go!
At least it wouldn't take very long and they could get outside in no time. This worked out perfectly and she bounced lightly on her feet. Lets do this!
After Kace was done doing his astronaut training he heard the Professor saying the trip was over. He needed to go to the parking lot. Aww man he didn't want this trip to end. He turned to Eden and said, "Well it has been amazing training with you to be an astronaut.." He smirked and walked back to the entrance hall. He saw his other students here and noticed they were walking back. He joined the group of students and was excited to go back to Hogwarts so they could use magic. He didn't even get a chance to check out the gift shop but that will be for another time. Maybe he can ask his mother to bring him here? That could be a possibility.

To the Parking Lot!
Trinkets in small bag, and Adi being rung up behind him. All was going well. Benny simply nodded as his friend mentioned going, the Gryffindor quite ready to wrap things up. Exiting the store, they crossed back to the entrance of the space center, leaving the place through the glass doors and turning in the direction they had originally come in from.
Even from there he could notice a bunch of students already there, plus Professor Flamsteed waiting there with the portkeys. All was good and soon enough they would be back at Hogwarts.

This movie was cool because Lux got to learn things. Like how there could be microorganisms in the water of Europa. Maybe those organisms would become aliens; she had no idea how to feel about that.
Once the film was over, she headed out to get something to eat but of course it was time to leave. Pout. She was hungry and didn't really want to travel by Portkey again. Oh well. Not wanting to be left behind (which she really knew wouldn't happen regardless), Lux headed off to join everyone else at the parking lot.
Angel looked at her sister as the queue finally moved and she could go on this cool game, she had just finished her go when suddenly someone was speaking about going back to the parking lot. "Hey sis, you ready to go?" Angel was really upset about it and she really had meant to do more but she had gotten side-tracked.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo.....they were giving a show on things they couldn't prove in the image that doesn't bear many facts to unsuspecting muggles who'd probably be eating this stuff up right about now? WELL, it was a good thing Lottie just told her different so she could actually focus on the show for what it quite possible was; Lies
Op, hear that Dot? Second confirmation she could stay but no Lottie, you have it backwards, the Toussaint one is a bit iffy too. He'd be rambling through the entire show and they'd have to move or they'd never hear anything. Not like Dot, she was real quiet when she had to be and helpful other times--like now with the cans and Aliens wrapping up food and---

Waaaaiiiiitttt. Lex looked from Dot to Lottie and back to Dot, or well it was dark so mostly their silhouettes if you wanted to be technical. Which one was it? Food wrap or the green guys on screen?? "Those don't look anything like the stuff food wrap is made of and if they wrap food why are they on the screen talking?"
In truth, this show really shouldn't have been so confusing. It was real simple til you tried figuring out who these Aliens they were talking about were.
Lies. No, not lies. Just theories. And they made actual sense. Hopefully. Truth be told, she didn't know what exactly the movie will be saying, so it could be very informative or not so much at all. We'll see. It was VERY informative and factual, thank Merlin.
"What food wrap?" she asked, momentarily looking towards her bestie in the dark, but the movie was still going, so her watching resumed in possible silence. Yet Dot was rather talkative for someone who specifically said wouldn't be heard. Eventually, though, the movie ended and they were being called by Flamsteed...
...or on his name.
Way to ruin the freedom feeling, Airey.
She sighed, "We have to get going." Yet they had a few minutes to spare, so a quick gift shop stop happened before she went with Lex to the parking lot to meet Airey. Hopefully, Dot didn't get lost.
"Seems like nothing really bugs them, from what I can tell so far," he responded, looking thoughtful. Hm. "S'weird." Super weird, given the whole previous parent thing, where it was more like there wasn't anything that didn't bug them. Two extremes. Weird. "Except... I'm not sure what their thoughts are on glitter." Thinking about that led to thinking about other things which led to realising that his parents were sort of... really quite hard to read sometimes. Toby wondered vaguely if they thought the same about him, or if they understood him, or if they THOUGHT they understood him, and which of those would he prefer?
Tooooooooo much thinking was happening, and Tobias very quickly pushed all those thoughts away for a later date, before hitching a little smile back onto his face and looking at Soph and shrugging. "Probably a budget thing. There's a whole bunch of us after all." He was about to answer her question when that booming voice rang out across the building, and Toby looked up automatically as though he might see who was speaking.
No time no tiiiiiime. They had to make a decision.
"I think I..." HMMMM. Quick thinking. "I was gonna get keyrings. Y'know, as presents, but I couldn't decide between those or a dog." As he said this, Toby stepped across to the stuffed animals and picked up the dog he'd eyed up earlier. "... I think I'm gonna get this.." Even as he spoke, Toby felt guilty about the decision but... man. This dog. This dog was so cute. He'd buy the dog, feel super guilty about it, but totally make up for the lack of souvenirs later with bigger and better presents. Absolutely. "You should get your stars, or your space ooze stuff. That looks super cool."
Because really, if he got the dog and not the keyrings and then got a monkey too. Well. He'd probably explode out of guilt.
"We should hurry," the fifth year said, and hastened up to the counter to pay for his new stuffed animal friend before he could change his mind. Then he waited at the door for Soph to buy whatever so that they could head out to the meeting point together once she was all done.
"THEY're weird," was Soph's reply to Toby's comment about Fuller and Thompson, and she followed it up with a giggle and a mischievous sort of grin, imagining the looks on their faces if she had said that to them face to face. It wasn't anything they didn't already know, certainly. Heheheheh. "I have the inkling they're not a fan." Of glitter. "Remember when I dumped a whole pocketful of glitter on Fuller's head? That time in Thompson's office? After I got glitterbombed in his office?" HEHEHEHEHE. That had been loads of fun, and Fuller had looked very unamused.
Which had been, of course, outrageously amusing to Sophie.
Oh nooooo it was TIME TO GO? Soph checked her watch, realized time had passed quicker than she thought it had, and flailed her arms a little in distress. "Nooooo." Now she HAD to choose fast - should she grab stuff and buy them as presents for Tobes, even if he argued with her about it? Or SHOULD she buy those stars so she and CB could have a pretty dormitory?
Either way, she supposed she was going to be sharing and spreading joy to someone else, so... since Tobes insisted upon the stars, she grabbed two packs she could afford and waved them at him, grinning away. She paid for them and, as she reached Tobes at the doorway, she told him while patting her bag containing the stars, "You'll have to come visit and see these babies in action." Wiggly eyebrows.
As much fun that she was having she was getting tired of walking around. She had been just sitting at the cafe for the past hour or so. She went to the gift shop before coming over to the cafe for food. She was just thinking about getting up and doing something else but realizing that it was nearing time to meet up and go back. Boo. She really enjoyed the field trip.
Too bad every lesson couldn't be like this. She heard the announcement over the loud speaker. Well now she supposed that she better head on out to the parking lot. Did they really have to leave? Ugh she knew the answer to that sadly. She stood up threw her trash away and moseyed over to the entrance door and out the the parking lot. There she was here and ready to go back. No not really.

Yes, Gabe had gotten spilt from Adi and Benny after the Planetarium.....but in their place, he'd met up with Coral Bay. As if he needed to be anymore excited, Gabriel had resolved to showing her around...though, he'd never personally been there himself. He was just a lover of SPACE and SCIENCE...and he'd wanted to take her to the exhibits, himself, and...explain a bit of the history behind things on display.
Photographs had been taken of everything...and entries had been written. CB hadn't seemed to mind Gabriel's geeking out, which was appreciated. She'd been rather patient, listing to him prattle on and on about things she possibly cared nothing about....but she hadn't said as much. Once again, appreciated.
Suddenly, at hearing Flamsteed's booming voice, they'd gravitated back that towards the entrance, talking quietly among themselves.
It was with great sadness that Gabe was ready to leave......but there was seven rolls of film to develop and notes to complete for his SPACE SCRAPBOOK.

Waiting behind some of the bushes and a large food delivery truck, Airey beckoned students over as they filed out of the Centre and handed out the two same portkeys to Miss Guidry and Miss Cambridge before checking his sundial watch one more time.
"Alright everyone, no dilly dallying. Hold on you your souvenir bags and portkey. We are leaving in 10....9...8...7..." He glanced up to do a super last minute headcount. "...3...2..1..."
