Default Herbology Lesson 2

At eight o'clock in the morning, the door to the Second Greenhouse is wide open. You step inside to find that the tables are set differently. Instead of being separately scattered around they are aligned next to each other forming one long table right in the center of the greenhouse. Wooden chairs are also lined on both sides of the tables next to each other. The Professor's table is no where to be seen. But he is standing right at the further end of the tables with his hands on the table and a few feet behind him is a blackboard.

Aside from the different arrangements of the tables you will notice another important thing; there is absolutely nothing on the tables. Look closely around you and you will also see that every other pot is covered and no plant is in sight.

ooc: Lesson will not start for at least another 16 hours! Also, note that there certainly have been a number of lessons before this one.

Class has officially started. Do not post you character arriving late, act as if they've been here all the time

It seemed like everyone else was just picking whichever plants they happened to find. Brooklyn wasn’t about to do anything that easy. She had to prove her specialness, and that meant being strategic in her choices. Any old sick plant didn’t deserve her care, after all, and there were enough others in the class that the ones she’d passed by would still get taken care of. If not, Professor Walton could. He was the plant guy anyway, not her. It was easy for her to weave her way through the rows of plants too. Tiny person could get through tiny spaces. She wondered if the same could be said for tiny plants, honestly. But they were supposed to help those grow bigger and stronger, so she figured that meant they weren’t allowed to leave them be to prove themselves.

Turning on the spot once, she finally located a plant sort of tucked away behind a few others that probably would easily get taken care of by the others, and she picked the pot up to move it to the table. She wasn’t going to let this one get ignored. It already looked like it had been forgotten , small and pale. Scribbling Brooklyn Andrews, plant number one onto a nametag, she stuck it to the pot before walking over to the cupboard and getting some fertilizer. Obviously her plant needed that, and probably some spells too. It didn’t have yellow leaves, so no cutting. Which was disappointing since she’d liked that spell. Oh well. She fertilized the pot first, then pointed her wand at the plant, tracing out the tiny little mountain shapes in the air. “Herbivicus!,” she cast, resisting the urge to poke at the plant afterward. Instead, the labeled pot received water and went in a prime sunlight spot, and she turned back to her parchment to write.

Ian watched others taking care of plants and Ian was pretty bored with this activity. Plants were nice and they provided oxygen and just blah. This class wasn't nearly as exciting as planting bouncy bulbs that were in danger of popping you in the eye and such. It ALMOST seemed like the students were doing the work that the HERBOLOGIST could be doing. These were the thoughts running through Ian's head. He was ready to go take a nap.

He looked at the plants and found one that looked like someone had tried to put it to sleep. Maybe the professor had tried to lecture it. Ian thought perhaps that the thing just needed some sunlight, perhaps a bit of fertilizer. He went over to the fertilizer and placed some in the soil after mixing it with a bit of water, like his mum had taught him. He then placed it in a NICE, SUNNY spot.

he took out his parchment and wrote
Quote:

Hufflepuff, 4th year

Plant looked a bit undernourished and lacking of light. Added some fertilizer and placed in a nice sunny space.

Ruby... had no interest in healing gross sick plants thanks. Others could do that. She instead claimed a perfectly healthy plant. Perfectly healthy. The thing was practically glowing with good health, and had no name or label on it or anything. She stuck her own name on there and then pretended like she was doing stuff to it.

She'd rather be an actress than a herbologist to be honest.

And look! It was perfect. Yep. She'd done that. Or so it would seem to the casual observer.

One plant down, at least one more to go. Brooklyn doubted she’d find many others that she would have deemed worthy to herself. Everyone else was just working on whatever plant they found at any one time, but now that she’d finished the first, she set off to find another. It was time to prowl again, to find the perfect plant. Preferably one she could do some cutting on, just because she wanted to use that spell again. If not, the poor piece of wood still on the table near her things was going to get sliced up again. A plant would be better, just to show she could actually trim it the way they were supposed to. She just had to find a plant to actually trim, and that was proving harder than she would have thought in a greenhouse filled with mostly sick plants.

On the opposite end of the greenhouse from her seat, she finally found a pot without a label on it that looked right for her intentions. There were definitely leaves on it that needed to be trimmed, some almost past yellow and nearing brown. She dragged the pot closer, then just sat down on the ground next to it to scribble her name on another tag. That got stuck to the pot, then she brandished her wand again. Time to cut. Pointing her wand just below the base of one of the yellow-brownleaves, she traced out the unfinished W-shape with the tip of her wand. “Diffindo!” No more dead leaf, and after trimming the rest of the icky leaves off it, she watered the plant and moved it back to where she’d gotten it from. Time for more writing.

Moving around some of the others that had been working in the area she had been in Hady made her way to the other side of the greenhouse. Nearly tripping over something she looked down to see what it was after catching herself by grabbing onto the edge of a nearby table. Falling would have been really bad!

It was a pot. A small but leafy plant sitting inside it. The plant appeared to be a good size and it was watered but some of the leaves were yellowish and falling off. This one needed her help.

Kneeling down Hady pulled out a name tag and her quill. Writing her name, year and house on it she stuck it onto the pot. Taking out her notes she began to write down.

Quote:
Plant 2 - Dead Leaves.
Treatment - Cut off the dead leaves using Diffindo.
Replacing the quill and parchment back into her robes. Pulling out her wand and aiming it at the plant she did the correct movement while clearing calling out "Diffindo!" Hady repeated this two more times until she was positive all the dead and crumbly leaves were gone."There now you can continue growing up strong." She laughed quietly giving the pot a light pat befor getting to her feet and looking around.

Jasmine had successfully tended to two plants so far. Now she walked around the room looking for her next one to save. Over in the corner, Jasmine found a little plant whose look could best be described as funky. It looked puny and its leaves we're just.......funky. Moving closer, she inspected its leaves and found evidence of bugs. Yuck. This plant looked like it needed everything.

Jasmine made a beeline for the cupboard and grabbed some pesticide and fertilizer. Then she returned to the plant and set to work. First she took the container of pesticides and began to spray the plant. Talking to the plant, she said, "We have to get rid of these bugs so you can feel better." Once the spraying was finished, Jasmine added a little fertilizer to the pot. Taking out her wand, Jasmine said, "Aguamenti". She watered the plant and hoped that it would start to feel better.

There was one more thing that Jasmine wanted to do. She directed her wand toward the plant and made the incomplete W movement. Saying, "Diffindo", she began to trim a few leaves that seemed to be beyond saving. Stepping back, Jasmine looked at he plant and was satisfied that she had done the best job she could. Now all she had to do was tag the plant and update her log.

The Idea Man Kori-Kins

Angel was totally enjoying herself now and she was looking around for another plant to protect because well it was important that every plant in here was perfect and that was what Angel was going to make sure happened.

Angel looked around and saw one that seemed like it wasn't getting much water because the leafs were starting to die and some were already dry and rotten.

"Diffindo!!" Angel did the wand movement and smiled as the spell worked. "Diffindo." Same again... she continued this until all the dead leaves were gone.

Angel then looked at the same plant and decided that she might as well water it to make sure the new leaves can grow. "Aguamenti!" Angel did the wand movement and smiled when the water came out, when she was satisfied she stopped the spell.

Lalalalalalalaaaa...

Zeke flitted around for a short while, quill and parchment in hand. He really ought to help anther planty, at least one other. Cause, there was time to kill and he was bored otherwise, so...... duck.......... duck........ duck.... duck.... GOOOSE!

"You!" Zeke exclaimed, pointing at a plant.

This one. It looked sick... like the others... but still, sick! As for what was wrong with it, that was a whole other matter. Bending at the knee so that he was eye level with the thing, Zeke assessed its condition. This one was TINY, like it was ... a dwarf or something, and it had ONE leaf on it, a short, stubby leaf - which kinda looked like it was starting to shrivel. Just at the edges.

"You need help," he declared, wand out. First thing first, it needed to GROW. It needed to be BIGGGGERRRR. What was the spell thing again? Herbitius? No no no.. HerbiVICUS. That's the one!

"Herbivicus!" he recited, performing the wand movement over the plant. The green light connected the little green thing with the tip of his wand, and slowly but surely, it started growing. Growing... growwwwiiinnngggg. It was taller, and it had TWO NEW leaves which were green. But the ORIGINAL leaf, was... dead? Yeah, it was dead. "Diffindo."

Once that was taken care of, it looked pretty darn good, but to be sure, he gave it a gentle water. "Aguamenti.... finite."

As with the other plants, Zeke stuck a tag on it, and took to writing notes on his parchment.

Plant Two - Dry sand, droopy and dead leaves with yellowing on the egges of some others.

Plant Three - reelly small and only one leaf wich was shrively and stuff, it needs growing
Treatment - used herbivicus and diffindo'd the dead leaf once new healthy ones grew, and watered it.
There...

AJ had one more label left with her name on it, so she guessed that she could save one more plant. After this one though she would just be killing time until it was time to leave the lesson.

She walked around until she came across another plant that needed to TLC. The lion examined it and determined that it needed to have some leaves cut off. Her spray bottle full of pesticide wasn't going to help this one.

It was time to use the spell they had just went over. "Diffindo." Leaves were still in tact. Come on.... she wanted to goof off the rest of the lesson, and she wouldn't be able to do that if she couldn't get the blasted spell to work.

"Diffindo." The leaves started to fall off at the exact point that she needed them to. This was much better. A little water and fertilizer was added for good measure. AJ slapped a sticker on the plant and went to update her log for the last time. She was done.

So he was actually enjoying this class... What? Maybe if he could ignore Professor Horrible over there, this class wouldn't be that bad all the time. Yes. It was a perfect solution. So he attempted to block out the Professor as he went on to treat another plant. This one looked like a little baby, and Zander knew just what to do. MHM. He practiced this one.

"Herbivicus!" and the little baby started to grow some. Just to make sure it continued to grow normally or whatever, Zander added some fertilizer, making sure to use it sparingly. Then taking his wand he cast a quick, "Aguamenti!" and then he went to make another name tag. There. All done.

Cutty moved deeper into the choices for sick plants until he came upon a potted small tree or shrub. The leaves and parts of the new growth looked to be ...holey. But was that the way they were meant to be, like a lace leaf, or did something happen to them to make them that way? A quick examining of the other leaves revealed the answer. Happily, completely delirious snails, crawling and twisting their bodies in frivolous manners.

Alihotsy, then and with a particularly bad infestation of extremely happy snails munching on its' leaves. There had to be a variation of aguamenti that allowed one to conjure salt water so that he could watch them fizz into a bright green foam. Cutty went over to the storage cabinet again and pulled out the pesticide. Returning to the plant he applied the product without thinking twice and totally ruined the snail's good time. He watched with an even tempered smile as they died.

The stuff had a strong smell that even Cutty's olfactories could pick up. Time for a bath. "Aguamenti!" He hit the young and small tree with a stream of water clearing her of dead bodies and the pesticide. The shells of the snails gathered at the bottom were evanesco'd and a tag was made.

Almost devoured by snails. Given a pesticide and a good watering. Matured for stability.
"Vitaris Alihotsy!" He hit the plant with the spell before moving on to the next. What was the use of Vitaris anyway if you could achieve it's effects without speeding up aging? Mature plants could be bred more easily and by-passed stages of fragility.

Ian grabbed up a piece of parchment when he was finished and walked from plant to plant that he had worked on. He copied down the notes to prepare his log.

Quote:
Tinker's Log (stardate 2085.01.14)

The Tinker, Ian variety has observed locally produced vegetation and noted some strange symptoms and growth patterns. The young Hufflepuff student performed the following actions and logged them for further study by qualified herbologists aboard ship.

Plant 1 – Elephant ear plant - Yellowing leaves. Trimmed the dying leaves, checked soil and added some water.

Plant 2 – Cactus - Undersized cactus, used Herbivicus

Plant 3 – Buttercup Plant looked a bit undernourished and lacking of light. Added some fertilizer and placed in a nice sunny space.

Tinker, 4th year type feels this is an adequate sample size to predict healthy growth patterns and possible need for preventative measures to ensure an adequate food supply for follow-on explorers.

Tinker's log for this stardate is complete.
Ian was really, really bored...and he wanted a nap.

It should energize any mundane or magical plant, according to their discussion.
Andrew got closer to the two plants that the Slytherin was referring to. He needed a quick glance to figure out which plants were those. His eyes turned back to the prefect. "Of course," He answered him. "Some plants might need redepositing to get the suitable amount of sunlight," Sometimes when got asked to examine some plants that would be the only thing that needed fixing. So the boy was on the right path.

She just honestly didn't know about it..she had read about the controversy with fertilizers.
Miss Mcgee had a question, too, it seemed. The Herbologist walked over to her and listened to her question showed concern for the plants, Andy approved. "There are few types of fertilizers, Miss Mcgee," He told her. "The one I have provided is of natural source. Though I do use chemical fertlizers," He said. "Every type has its disadvantages and advantages and it is important to be aware of that," He paused thinking whether to give her an example although this particular topic couldn't be summed up in a couple of facts. But one example wouldn't hurt. "For example, natural fertilizers take longer time to break down into the necessary nutrients. Whereas chemical ones do that faster. Yet, chemical fertilizers have long-term negative effects on the soil," Just at the top of his head. He hope that that was a satisfying response for the Ravenclaw.

Bugs? Andrew got closer to the Hufflepuff and bend to examine the plant he was working on, the one with the bugs. His eyes recognized the insects, nothing to be worried about. Turning back to the fifth-year he motioned to the cupboard, "The pesticide would be enough to deal with them," He told him. "They're not dangerous ones. It's good that you asked Mister Lecium," He nodded at the boy.

This. He wanted to ask this. But he could not do so without sounding too sarcastic and he did not want to do that. And it would probably be too inappropriate if he laughed at them. But he was wondering exactly the same. Glad it was not just him.

It was a good time to start logging things, and so Cutty took out a small cahier and wrote down his name, year, and date, along with the following.

Text Cut: Cutty's Log Notes

Snapitha, Antirrhinum
Small and wrinkled. Possible the effect of being choked.

Herbivicus applied.

Tottie, Alihotsy

Holed and nibbled leaves. Snail infestation.

Matured with Vitaris for stability. Given a good watering.

Cutty skipped over some blackened specimens and the Tilandsia with the curled up leaves finding them either dead or uninteresting. Then he stopped at something that he was going to call a turtle plant for it looked plenty like one, each leaf the perfect size and design to be a small garden turtle.

The Slytherin bent forward and touched the leaves and then it fell off, stalk and all. Closer inspection revealed that it was indeed quite soggy. Not molded, however and still quite firm in some areas. Strange plant the ludisia was. There appeared to be no visible pests or other afflicted areas...at least, above the surface. But plants existed in two realms. Cutty took the tip of his wand and stuck it into the dirt surrounding the turtle plant and drew it up with a drip of water. It was water logged. Thus the mushiness.

Back to the cabinet, Cutty found a spare pot and some fresh dirt and brought them back to the ludisia. After loosening her from her previous enclosure, he replanted the turtle plant with sponge rock mix and vanished her old substrate but not before sticking his hand in it and squishing. He just liked the feeling. He righted her then and gave her some fertilizer so she could concentrate on growing. He then, tagged her and wrote in the log.

Text Cut: Cutty's Log Notes

Turtle Plant, ?
Extremely soggy in places and rotted. Falling apart. The result of too much water.

Repot. Sponge rock mixed into the medium and at the bottom for improved drainage. Fertilized and watered to help with regrowth.

"Aguamenti!" He said watering the plant to help the roots take hold.

He headed back to the cabinet to put away the old pot and saw Ruby Banner doing her thing. 'Dead clever' he mouthed. A smile as he cleaned the pot and placed it away.

Sweet Merlin, WHY was he so slow on treating these plants?

Or was it just that everyone else was too fast? Because, walking around, he was only seeing healthy plants here and there. Not even bending down to examine them closely was helping. And it certainly didn't help to notice the name tags on some of them, which meant that they had, in fact, been treated. MAN. It was annoying because as soon as he got near one he thought he could treat, it didn't have anything wrong with it. Did he have to damage them himself and then treat them or--

THERE WAS ONE.

An unusual look of delight spread across the fifth year's face as he hurried over towards the plant. It was his. HIS. He had mentally claimed it, mkay? And now that he was here, he could see EXACTLY what was wrong with it. This one was limp, obviously. Anyone could tell just by LOOKING at it. But anything else? No? REALLY? Come on, plant, give him something else to work with here. Something like.........

.......... oh? The soil? Grayson reached over and patted at it gently. This thing was DRY. Jeez, when was the last time the plant had been watered? No wonder the thing was limp as anything. Shaking his head, the Slytherin carried the pot over towards a new spot, one with plenty of sunlight shining down on it. Then, taking a bit of fertiliser, he sprinkled some around the base of the plant. Growth, you know. And he didn't like the look of the soil. It probably needed some of this.

"Aguamenti," he said, watching as a small trickle of water gushed out of his wand and around the base of the plant. Brilliant. When THAT was done, he quickly scribbled down a little tag so that he could claim the plant as HIS. HIS plant, HIS treatment. No one else's.

Toby wanted to make sure he'd covered the entirety of the greenhouse, so of course he made sure to wander all over the room multiple times. He found that once certain areas had been cleared slightly of students, that it was easier to spot plants that still needed taking care of.

Like right now, Tobias had found a plant that was still untreated, though he was sure he'd already passed this area a few times. As for the plant, it just looked a little... not quite right. It was a decent enough size, he supposed, not small enough to need the Herbivicus spell at least, but looked kinda... spindly. Some of the leaves were a lot smaller than others, and it was sort of... leaning. Towards the light. Toby took his glove off again and felt the soil; fine and damp and all. Soooooo, given the location of the plant (it was quite shady over here), all it would really need was relocating.

The Hufflepuff stuffed his parchment, name tags and quill under his arm, put his glove back on again, and carefully picked up the plant pot. He turned to look around the room, looking for a space to move the plant to. Finding a place along the edge of the greenhouse that was lit with the winter sun, Toby headed right over and deposited the plant there.

"This is your new home," he said to the plant, veeeeeery very quietly, before sticking his third name tag, reading 'Toby Tempus (#3)' to the plant pot and adding more to his notes. Now... could he find a fourth one?

SPOILER!!: Notes/Parchment/log
Toby Tempus
Hufflepuff
Fifth Year

Plant #1: It was small and hadn't seen enough light and a lot of the leaves were all yellow. It's in the light now, so should be fine if it keeps getting light. I used Diffindo to cut off the dead leaves and the once that can't be saved, and then Herbivicus to help it grow. Then I watered it too because it looked thirsty after all that growing.

Plant #2: Was sad and droopy and not getting enough nutrients. The soil was damp so it didn't need more watering, so it was at least hydrated. I got some fertiliser and layered that on the soil for it to get more nutrients and stuff. Should start looking healthier soon.

Plant #3: Looked a little small (not small enough that it needed the Herbivicus spell, though)and spindly, some leaves a lot smaller than others, leaning towards the light and stuff. Just generally looked a bit sad. Moved it from its original place (where it was quite shady) to a spot where it could get more light.

And............. the search for a new plant continued.

Just like last time, this search was hard as well. Difficult, even, because of the number of plants that had already been treated by other people in the class. Not that he was complaining but he only had one more to go, at least. Just the one and then he was going to call it a day or a lesson or whatever. WAS the lesson coming to a close? Because he sure could use a snack right about now.

A soft grumbling from his tummy region told him that his tummy agreed. Great. Now he had to wait for the clock to tick by sloooooooooooowly for their next break or--

OH HEY! Look at THIS plant.

Bending down, Grayson examined it closely. Jeez, were those dark spots? What on earth? Had he gone from examining a plant that wasn't getting enough sunlight to one that was getting too much? But that wasn't all because a look at the leaves told him that they had holes in them, which was another problem altogether. Pests, huh? And sure enough, a bug scuttled across the soil of the plant and then up its stem.

What? No! SHOO! Go AWAY!

Grabbing some pesticide, the fifth year SPRAYED it onto the leaves of the plant. Not TOO much otherwise it'll drench the thing with too many chemicals and WOULD kill it. Surely. But it seemed to have done the job since the pest scuttled away and over the edge of the pot. GOOD. STAY away.

Placing the pesticide down, the Slytherin took hold of the plant and moved it away from its area in direct sunlight and over towards a more shady area. Next came the water, yeah? Because if it was in direct sunlight, it was probably dehydrated too and needed some extra nourishment. "Aguamenti!" Niiiiiiice and watered. Uh huh.

Quote:
Plant had black spots on it and some of it was VERY delicious to some tiny little buggers. The plant has had some pesticide sprayed on it and then taken to an area of shade. Some water was added onto it as well just in case it was feeling dehydrated.

Now he was ready to move on to another plant to help. And easily find one Benny did. This one was standing relatively straight but not looking so green and happy. But then the professor had said they were all ill, the fourth year was just glad he hadn't stumbled onto on that was too far gone. That would just be sad. He inspected the plant closer to try and pick about one specific cause for the unwell look or at least a couple so that he could decide just what to do to try and help.

There was one branch that looked dead, another one or two with sick leaves around and there might be pests or no. Benny wasn't absolutely sure, but he figured it wouldn't harm to be cautious. "Diffindo!" he cast first to cut away the dead branch. It made no sense to keep it hanging around when nothing was growing on it and nothing likely would ever again. He repeated it to get rid of any leaves too far gone.

The cutting done, Ben went back to the cupboard and retrieved a container of pesticide and returned to his charge. He sprayed it on the plant, especially the leaves until he was satisfied he had done enough. Grabbing his other tag, the Gryffindor wrote it out before sticking it in the dirt beneath it.

Plant #1: Dry soil, plant had wilted leaves and was "drooping" because of lack of watering
solution: watered the plant and removed the dead leaves
Plant #2: Tiny, sad, pathetic little green seedling
Solution: herbivicus & fertilizer, plus some water and a little bit of fertilizer
Plant #3:

Puck glanced at the sad little plant in front of her. With its tiny little spec of green sticking out of the soil It wasn’t a plant it was a seedling an infant of a plant that would die if it didn’t get any water soon. But still, if she watered it right now the poor little thing would drown drown drown by the bottom of the river. Okay she was ready to do this.

Pointing her wand at the plant she tried tracing the mountain shape once more. But now, now she reconsidered just using the spell and quickly set her wand on the work station as she placed her dragon hide gloves on and grabbed a bit of the mountain troll dung fertilizer.

“ewww ewww ewwwww” she muttered under her breath as she made her way back to her work station and sprinkled the fertilizer above the plant. Pulling one glove off she pointed her wand at her glove “scourgify” and pulled that glove off and repeated the process one more time with the other glove. Now, tracing the mountain shape above the plant she carefully cast “herbivicus” and watched as the plant seemed to grow a little bit. And she traced the shape one more time “herbivicus” she cast again and watched as the plant grew even larger, and looked much healthier if not drier than it had moments before. Now pointing her wand at the plant one more time she cast a quick “aquamenti” and watched was the soil seemed to dampen “finite” she finished the spell as she was pleased with her work she moved on to find another sickly little thing of a plant.

Just because now he KNEW the spell did NOT mean that Kyroh wanted to HELP the plant man with the sick plants.

And so he didn't.

Which kind of sucked because poor little plants suffering, and being all sick. Too bad your owner was such a meanie, otherwise he'd actually help.

Instead he took out his wand and began spinning it on the table.

Puck was not pleased, no, like little Kyroh she was quite displeased with this assignment in general. What sick person had nearly killed EVERY plant in the school greenhouses just for a project? She thought and glared at one of the sickliest of the sickliest plants…it looked like setting it on fire would be a better bet, it’d save it from the torture of dealing with Professor Walton.

But no, she didn’t set anything on fire. She didn’t want to harm anything…maybe that wasn’t exactly true. But she wasn’t going to make people lose points. With her wand she made a swishing motion with her wand as she aimed it at the leaves that needed to be trimmed off of the tree “Flipnsipwitit” she silently cast and watched as the leaves fell to the ground.

Now, to the dead bit. She thought as she moved her wand in the motion of what would be an invisible mountain, “diffindo” she watched as the dead branch fell to the ground with a thump. The small tree she had been working on looked much healthier now, still she wanted to make it even happier. She carefully moved the plant over to a different more sunlit location before she added more fertilizer to it, watered it. Now all she could think that would help it would be to repot the plant but it was probably fine now. Oh right…the bugs, she thought as she noticed the bugs crawling on its leaves. Picking up the pesticide sprayer she carefully coated the tree in the bug killing spray and watched as the unwanted things fell away from the plant.

As Kace was looking through the plants he noticed a little tiny one is his time of need. He went over to it and it wasn't in the sunlight. He grabbed it and put it near it. He even got it some fertilizer to grow and he realized there was some dried stems on it. It even looked like it was having trouble growing. He cut off the stems using "Diffindo!" and then it looked better. Then he got some fertilizer and put it down into the soil. He got his wand out and said, "Aguamenti!" and then the soil was watered. He smiled and was glad it was getting the nutrient and sunlight it needed.

He went over to his parchment and scribbled it down....

He hope that that was a satisfying response for the Ravenclaw.

ooc: There's less than 6 hours left to complete this activity. Though, I might not be able to close the thread on time so you'll probably get more time. You're all doing GREAT and the names' for the plants are super cute! <3

Eden looked up as Professor Walton came over, and she nodded a lot as he was speaking, yes yes. What he said made sense. "I'll have to come to your office at some point to talk more about that, Professor," she said, BRAVER than usual because she was very interested in this topic, yes. "So...for now, the natural one should be good for THIS plant, right? Since it's not majorly sick or anything--" She said as she poured the fertilizer into the plant. And then spread it and stuff.

There. Vera SHOULD feel aaallllll better, HEH.

As she waited for Professor Walton to respond to her she grabbed another nearby plant to examine it...and...well. It seemed to be...tiny. TEENY, actually, and it was...brownish. Poor THING. She knew it wasn't DEAD--no! So she would have to do that NEW spell they learned. She waved her wand and did the three-mountain motion quickly, "Herbivicus!" she cried, and the plant enlarged to an older plant. And yes, it was AALLLLL dried out. HEH. She just needed to add water to the little guy! "Aquamenti!" she cried, and she let a steady stream of water into the pot...WHEW.

Another plant saved....Eden needed to name this one, too. Peewee. His name was Peewee because he had been so TINY before. She stuck her label onto this plant as well and...siiiighed. Hard work was HARD. But it felt nice to be able to help these plants...hmm.

Weeeheeeheee... he figured he was done now. It was preeeeetttyyyy much packing up time now, so yeah, that's what he would do. Zeke started by returning the scoop implement he had used to transport some fertilizer, and then returned to his table to tidy the surface... and... make sure the Professor didn't notice the scratch he'd made earlier. It was safe to say though, that the crime couldn't be pinned on him. Nope.

Once that was done, Zeke went over his notes, double checking that he got everything down.
