The usual Ancient Runes classroom was not the same upon entering it. There was no desks or chairs, there was no blackboard or the usual baskets and boxes scattered around. Today, the classroom was an underwater seating area with a throne at the far end where professor Botros was seated. When you entered the room, you would feel your feet leave the floor and you'd start floating as if you were actually underwater (but you would be breathing normally as this is only an illusion).
There are some big rocks for you if you wish to hang-on to(sitting would be hard since there is no gravity), but otherwise feel free to roam around and explore the underwater castle-like classroom with the engravings on the walls, the beautifully colored seaweeds and the mysterious small alcoves.
ooc: - Class has officially started, you can still rp your character walking in, though. Just for this lesson.
- This is not the frist AR class, your character must've attended a few before this one. You may act accordingly.

Ethan involuntarily turned to see Toby join him, Lex, and the tiny Ravenclaw he saved from Transfiguration class. The prefect swam away from Lex to give Toby some space between him and the Head Girl. The Slytherin knew from experience that Toby has an inquisitive mind too. Maybe he could also help de-code the happenings?
With a sigh, Ethan swam with them, keeping his eyes open.
Come on SEBASTIAN.

"Uh, no I... don't think he's..." Real. Don't think he's real. In fact, Toby was about 95% sure that there was no Sebastian to be found, at least not the small red kind. Toby looked back at Botros and then at Lex and Ethan and the other girl, then changed tack. "I'm not sure-"
'... if Botros is just acting' was what Toby was going to say, but then Lex was back on the chair and Toby was watching and... hm.
More looking at the girl and Ethan, but mainly Ethan 'cause he knew him and they totally counted as friends, right? Right.
"Do you think there is a Sebastian?" he asked them, very very quietly, and absentmindedly twirling his wand in between his fingers as he spoke. Aaaaaand as for Botros... "D'you think he's okay? He's not acting like Airey was, at least."
So uh... playing along or...? Botros had already warned everyone about lagging, and Toby didn't fancy getting blasted with that magic trident thingy. He looked at Lex again, the individual he considered to be next in command, and, then around at the classroombefore sort of... vaguely floating around in 'search mode', looking around for the small red thing he wasn't even sure existed.
His head hurt. A lot. Toby had been ready for a normal Runes lesson, and this had thrown him a bit. Maybe he WOULD try carving runes like other kids were doing.

WHY was he YooHooing? "Who are you YooHooing, Benny?'' Was it Angel? The Lion seemed to have forgotten that she was his girlfriend and from what Adi noticed, she didn't seem to be taking it well.
Justine turned to her mer-sister and... Kace was it? She must have seen him around the school, but she could;t exactly remember. He didn't seem like a freak, and so far he wasn't sprouting any fairytale nonsense. Yes, he would do alright. Justine smiled wanly. "Would you? I promise not to bite." Justine flirted harmlessly, not that she found the boy attractive, it was just natural for her to flirt. "After Puck, of course, besides, I'm trying for queen," Justine whispered conspiratorially, smirking deviously.
After Kace was done brushing Puck's hair, he smiled and nodded. "Why of course I will.." He felt like he was drawn to all of the ladies for some reason. I guess it was their charm or something. He went over to Justine and began brushing her hair with the shell. Man he might need to be a hairdresser someday. He was brushing out her tangles and said, "Sorry if I am hurting you, I am trying to get these tangles out.." he said tugging on them gently. After trying to get the tangles out he hear her whisper. He pretended he didn't hear anything but Puck better watch out.
As Soph floated her way over to CB, she looked between her housemate and Botros. He... thought she was the help? Ha! "I'm not a maiden, sir, I'm her best friend." Big difference. "I'm still gonna brush her hair, though." She really WAS, too, but Soph got to play with CB's hair all the time, so it wasn't really anything out of the ordinary.
Botros - King Triton, whatever - told someone to use a shell to brush his daughter's hair just then, and... Soph blinked. A shell? She squinted around, looking for something that might do the job, and... didn't see any shells that looked like they'd comb through hair well at all without hurting CB. So, instead, Soph summoned her bag over to her as she reached CB's side and shuffled through it, looking for her own hairbrush. When she pulled it out, she cast a quick, "Scourgify," on it - not because it was dirty or anything, quite the contrary, but she didn't want Botros to scold her for using something of her own - the filthy hairbrush of a "maiden" or something of the sort, she already anticipated him saying.
"Dunno," Soph replied to her best friend from behind the shell she was seated on, pulling CB's hair behind her shoulders and brushing through it casually like it was something they did every day. "M'guessing the same thing that was wrong with Flamsteed the other day?" Brush, brush. "I can't help but wonder if it's my fault, though - and Tobes, too," she spoke in a hushed voice, wanting only CB to hear her. "What if when we went to Disney World this past summer, we brought back... some... kind of curse? That's made everyone into, like... Disney characters? I mean... in Flamsteed's class alone, we saw Hook, Peter Pan, Aladdin..." Were there others she was forgetting? "And remember when Head Girl Lex was all... evil and being Maleficent?" ALL Disney characters!
"And look," she gestured over to the Gryffindor boy, Benny, in their year and continued brushing. "That kid. He was talkin' 'bout un-birthdays and... and the Cheshire Cat. That's Alice in Wonderland. All Disney!" She was SO convinced she had caused this whole thing. "And now Botros is bein' the dad from The Little Mermaid. I mean... they say it's the most magical place on Earth..." What if they HAD picked up some sort of curse while they were there and brought it back to school with them?
It made sense, didn't it?

...and no, Gabriel didn't realize he was being a jerk...if he was. He was just stating the facts. Facts centered him and helped with the stuttering, too. So, there was that.

After Soph had summoned and cleaned her brush- which CB thought odd, because she'd never really fussed over that sort of thing before.
Wiggling a little in her shell seat so that Soph could be in a better position to brush her hair, she managed to see Gabe hiding behind her shell. That brought a grin to her face. SEE? He had run toward her and not away from her and that only brought a round of butterflies to her stomach and a slight reddish tint to her cheeks.
Listening to Soph's story, Coral pulled away from her bestie's hair brushing in order to turn around and face her. She took her hand in both of her own and tugged lightly. "Soph.... it's not your fault. It can't be..." She squeezed, and tugged again, trying to pull her down into the seat and into her arms for a good squeeze of a hug. This couldn't be her fault. No way. Hogwarts was just..... weird.
And at Gabe's interjection, the girl flushed some more. "See? You couldn't have brought them if they're originally from other things... It must be some sort of funny coincidence." Okay? Not your fault. She wasn't going to let Soph blame herself, even if she maybe was a little suspicious.
Did the headmistress know?
Looking over at Gabe again as he'd spoke, Coral shook her head. "It wasn't like this last year..." She looked at Soph again. "It wasn't like this before I got here either..... at least I don't think so." Pretty positive, actually. "But it's always kind of dangerous..... We almost froze to death last year." Yeah. Fun time THAT was. Although cuddling in the dorm in the blanket fort with Rumba and Soph had been a pretty great start to their friendship. Poor little Rumba almost froze to death though.

This wasn't even Professor Botros, so NO. Rebelliously folding her arms across her chest she forgot about holding on the rock for balance, and floundering back she went. With a small squeak she held on to whatever there was to hold on to, which turned out to be a thick bush, her hand brushed against something.
"Sir, I beliiiieve," she began, clutching the thing she'd felt and straightening herself...well, as much as she could. "I believe I am more of help in searching." Oh, look what was this? A doll. Who lost a doll?
"And I'm not gifted in the art of hair brushing." She scratched her temple, doll still in hand.
Did he get it? Yes? Because, unbeknownst to her, Sebastian was still lost.

Grayson emerged from behind the plant and STARED at the young girl. "Are you telling me that we're spending all this time searching and that this HUGE search party is for a freaking crab?!" Sweet Merlin, who had added some insanity potion to Botros's cup of tea? Because this was madness. Pure undeniable madness.
Soooo the Warrior Witch was gone? And the Pinocchio boy was singing? Dorothy took the opportunity to paddle herself away from the loony ones to keep looking for this little red Sebastian guy. She floated to a bed of reeds and began to poke it with her toe. Poooke. Pooooke. Was that something red? She squinted down. Maybeee not. Dorothy didn't understand the whole chant-y thing they were supposed to be doing for the light so she began to chant her own magical phrase. "THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME. THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME. C'MON SEBASTIAN, THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOOOOME." Yes? No? Maybe? She squinted at the reeds again. You in there?

Jasmine didn't know what to do. She was pretty much tethered to her shell and banned from joining in the Sebastian hunt. She did not want to be glued to her seat for disobeying orders. She was bored with a capital B with no relief in sight. Maybe she could brush her own hair and pretend she was her own maid. That would be crazy, but no crazier than everything else going on around her.
Finding a shell to use as a pretend brush, Jasmine loosened her hair from its ponytail. Then she began talking to herself. "I've come to brush your hair your highness.""Why thank you my dear maid. I'm so glad you've come at last." As Jasmine played both roles in his crazy play, she began to move her shell comb over her hair. "Oh that feels delightful.""Yes miss, your hair is looking very lovely today.""You are such a wonderful maid. What would I do without you?" How long was Jasmine going to have to go on with his madness? Her patience was wearing very, very thin. Wasn't it about time for class to be over?

Soph WANTED to keep brushing CB's hair so King Botros-Triton wouldn't order her around or try to find something else for her to do, but CB was pulling her down into a hug and she very well couldn't resist that. So Soph sat, surprised at how she stayed that way and was no longer at risk of floating, and hugged her best friend back.
"Coooooould be a coincidence..." There, she was playing along, all right? She didn't want CB's boyfriend trying to make her sound stupid again. But JUST at that moment, some boy (Ian/Pinocchio) was singing When You Wish Upon a Star, and Soph pulled away from CB's hug to dramatically POINT at the singing boy and STARED at Gabe. "What about HIM? He's singin' the SONG! From the MOVIE!" If that kid was from a book, Soph DOUBTED they sang that song in a book. She refused to believe it. "It's just fishy, Gabe." Soph wasn't mad at him or trying to show HIM up or anything, she was just very set in her belief that it was a Disney thing. And she had caused this somehow. Totally. "We should do some investigatin' and get some real answers here." Did he like adventure?
Absentmindedly, Soph went back to playing with CB's hair with one hand, still seated next to her on the shell, and looked between her and Gabe with a sort of frown on her face. "I think Hogwarts just attracts crazy things or somethin'."
There really was no such thing as a boring year at Hogwarts, she was certain of it.
Okay, yeah, seeing as he was IN Ancient Runes, it made sense to do rune related things even if the entire lesson seemed topsy turvy (and not just because Toby had started drifting into an upside down position). Other kids were chanting to light up the runes around the class, so Toby did the same as he righted himself and moved closer to the walls. And... he also tugged his textbook out of his bag while doing this, just to make sure he didn't mess up the chanting.
"Jera jera jera... j j j e e e r r r a a a... j j j j j j j j j..." Aaand a quick glance at his open textbook to make sure he was on track. "... ju ja ji je jo... (jur jar jir jer jor)... j j j e e e r r r a a a..."
Galdrs were super calming, if you asked Toby. They were something he'd managed to pick up on pretty quickly in the subject, though he did like to check the textbook every now and then, just in case.
The runes carved onto the walls nearest him began to glow brightly, and Toby used their light to peer into the spaces around him. But... no. Nothing. Not yet.
Probably because there likely wasn't a Sebastian to be found, at least nowhere near him. But the chanting had been a good sort of grounding exercise, at least, and now Toby was back to eyeing Botros uncertainly.
............ And that girl who was yelling about 'no places like home'. Oh boy.

Puck was sure that the doll in Beverly’s hands was important. Very important. She’d stake her shell seat that it was indeed Sebastian. “Father look!” She thrust herself off of her shell and floated toward Beverly, her arm outstretched.
“Sebastian he’s here,” she grinned her hand over her heart dramatic as ever. ”just roll with it” she whispered to Beverly as she glanced at the doll. “I mean, his claws they are so red, and strong.” She grinned, “Oh Lady Beverly,” she grinned and tried not to laugh at the grandiose of the gestures she was making to the girl she hardly even knew. “we will be forever in your debt, father, we should promote her from….maid, to Captain of the Royal Guard, or just have her be Sebastian’s keeper” she shrugged even though Captain of the Royal Guard was more fitting given the fact that she had saved dear old Sebastian.

Zander had "swam" all the way back to his bag and frantically searched inside it for his wand and AHA! Gotcha! Right, why did he even leave it in there to begin with? This was Hogwarts for Merlin's sakes he was supposed to keep it in his pockets at all times. In case of an emergency, like that time with the troll. Or all of the other times too, really. Strange school was strange.
But right anyways! BACK TO BUSINESS!! Instead of continuing to search for this whats-his-face Sebastian guy, Zander went straight for Kevin. "Erm, must've used the Langlock jinx then, right Kevin?" Wait. He couldn't talk, duh.
UM UM UM. Zander had NO IDEA! But Finite was normally a counter spell so maybe that'd work? It was worth a shot.... lifting his wand he pointed towards Kevin's mouth and, "Finite!" Uh, Kevin? You okay buddy?

When Puck started talking about Sebastian having been found, Lux was confused. Then she saw the doll that Beverly was holding and it all made sense.
Deciding to play the role along with her friend, she exclaimed, "You are our hero, Beverly! You saved Sebastian from the evil topsiders." There was mention of rewards, and she had to agree. "Yes, father. Everything my dear sister said and more besides. An unlimited supply of candy maybe!" That was an amazing prize in her books...especially if said candy was Chocolate Frogs.
It was hard not to laugh at the conversations that Puck and Justine were having with 'King Triton'. It was true that more people were needed to brush hair; everyone was jumping to look for Sebastian which she could not blame them for. It seemed like loads of fun. The more she watched the search, the more she wanted to join in.
Kace had finished brushing her hair, so did that mean she was free to leave the shell? It was nice to pretend to be a mermaid Princess, but she was starting to feel bored just sitting there. Besides, she could still be a Princess while exploring the reeds. "Father, can I join the search for Sebastian ?" it didn't get less strange the second time saying it, but a role was a role.

"CEASE THE SEARCH!" He bellowed, happy tears filled his old eyes as he returned to his throne. "I declare Sebastian has been found. The missus over there is to be rewarded of a prize of her choosing." As far as he knew, she wouldn't want a date with one of his daughters...? Though that was still an option if she wanted to.
He turned to look at her, Sebastian!doll hanging limplessly and lifelessly in his hand.

It was official, if he thought other subjects were hard, Runes was WAYYY harder. He didn't understand what everyone was on about with repeating weird sounding... sounds. Awkward much? Still... he wade through the air and stuff in search of this thing, whatever the thing was, but he didn't have to do that for much longer.

Zeke could hardly believe his eyes. They were searching for a TOY this whole time? 0____o Okie dokie whacky Professor King Botros. But as far as he could tell the... 'lesson' was over now, they'd fulfilled their missions. Ahem.
He hesitated though, because the word DISMISSED didn't leave the mans mouth, and the last thing he wanted was to have his head on an underwater spike for breaking rules or whatever... no, he'd just stay and wait for OTHERS to go first. They could be his guinea pigs.

The search was still on. This room wasn't that big so AJ was having a hard time believing that it was taking not only her, but everybody else so long. Victory had to be hers. Then again they were trying to find something that was super small, but the red should be a major target.
She was just going to have to keep searching. AJ floated around and looked into EVERY last corner there was. She was pushing seaweed to the side to be able to get a good look. Where was this blasted Sebastian?
AJ pushed herself off of rock and floated high and low. She looked in what seemed to be little bushes, and found nothing. Ugh. "Sebastian!!!!" Why didn't he come when he was called. AJ would be in big trouble mister if she blantaly ignored her parents how Sebastian was doing them right now.
She was just about to turn a corner when she heard a dreadful phrase. Noooooooooooooo. Somebody had found him, and that somebody wasn't her. Dangit!!! AJ really hated to lose. She didn't recognize the girl who had located him, and that meant she couldn't be a lion. Sad face!!!

Grayson emerged from behind the plant and STARED at the young girl. "Are you telling me that we're spending all this time searching and that this HUGE search party is for a freaking crab?!" Sweet Merlin, who had added some insanity potion to Botros's cup of tea? Because this was madness. Pure undeniable madness.
Hady lifted her head when she felt eyes on her. He was staring at her in surprise? Surely that was normally given the circumstances as for what they were searching for. Trying not to laugh she nodded her head in reply. However just as she opened her mouth to answer him the Professor/King began to speak loudly calling off the search.
Whipping her head around to get a better look she saw he was clutching a-a doll? Tilting her head at this she laughed softly turning her attention back to Grayson so she could finally answer him.
"Basically yes but it appears he has been found so I think we're done here." Hady was still laughing quietly at just all of this and didn't bother to hide her laughter or smile. Since the search was over did that mean they were dismissed now? Not sure about that she decided to wait a few moments and see if the Professor/King announced that they all could leave or if anyone began to leave on their own.

Sebastian had been found? Thank Merlin! And what do you know? He was found by none other than Jasmine's defiant maid-to-be. Well at least the Ravenclaw didn't have to keep talking to herself and pretending to comb her hair anymore. She could put down her faux shell comb now and she did. When she saw Professor Botros' joy at finding the little red Sebastian doll, Jasmine shook her head. The whole castle had clearly gone nuts and Jasmine was hoping that she could make it through the year unscathed. Was that too much to ask?
One more good thing was that Jasmine didn't have to worry about being sent on a date with the search winner. Hooray for that! So now what? Was class over? Jsmine wasn't sure about that so she just sat in her little shell and played her imaginary games to amuse herself.......and waited to hear the words "Class Dismissed".

Adi had moved down to another patch of rocks and seaweeds. So far he had no luck with locating the crab. He moved aside a few rocks still... no Sebastian. Ugh! Where was that little dude?!
Oh, oh, oh. Someone found him? Adi looked around. Ohh! Apparently it was Bev. Cool! "I think we're done searching, Hatter Benny. Keep a hold on Dormouse and let's go.'' He wished they could have stayed longer. Floating was fuuuuun!

Beverly BLINKED at one of Botros's supposed daughters (Puck) as she approached her, as if she'd lost her mind. WHAT was she going on about--and did she just call her a MAID?
BLASPHEMY.
She was NO maid. Beverly scowled, but she was far too confused to do anything about it. The scandalizing girl was going to attract attention, and that was the least Beverly wanted. Beverly floundered back, putting more space between her and the girl, when Lux joined in. Lux was cool in her book, she feeds Beverly and that's really important, so she didn't freak out as much.

SHE had Sebastian? No she didn't. Were they blind? She simply found a stupid doll-- OH MERLIN BOTROS WAS CHARGING AT HER.
With a slightly jump and squeak Beverly let the man take the doll from her. Have the stupid doll, she didn't want it. But instead of feeling anxious when he did take it, Beverly had to cover her mouth to stop herself from laughing. He was crying for a doll. It was sort of cute in a teddy bear way, but weird. Definitely weird.
Dropping her hand from her face, her eyes gleamed expectantly. Time for her reward, and she didn't want it to be a date. She had a boyfriend for that. He didn't elaborate on 'a prize of her choosing' whether it be his daughters or anything she wanted.
"I'll take twenty Slytherin house points, please." To her name. She was being generous and considerate of the activity, plus having to deal with people. It could have been fifty.

... house points...? What on Poseidon's Trident was she talking about? King Botros blinked, confused, at her and repeated. "Any reward you ask for will be yours! Gold, dresses, a royal title, anything!" He waited patiently for her to decide.
.... also why were the others staring at him expectantly? Hmm? He tried to avoid their creepy gaze.

Nope...nothing there as he continued to search. No White Rabbit...not Sebastian...no nice spot of tea and scones. This search was making him hungry. And thirsty. And dizzy with the floating around but then that was all usual. "I'm yooohoooining to attract whose been lost," he answered Sir with a chuckle. Had to get their attention somehow and everyone else was making other weird sounds he knew nothing about so he tried his hand at it.
Moving his searching along to another area, flipping over in the process, he giggled as he one-handed moved the weeds and such for signs of red. Well good red as in Sebastian red, not rose red or heart red.
"Huh?" the Hatter questioned, poking up his head from searching as Sir got his attention. Who had been found? Oh he had been found. "Oh Goody!! Hurrah!!" Making sure Dormouse was still with them, he was ready to move on.
After Kace was done brushing Puck's hair, he smiled and nodded. "Why of course I will.." He felt like he was drawn to all of the ladies for some reason. I guess it was their charm or something. He went over to Justine and began brushing her hair with the shell. Man he might need to be a hairdresser someday. He was brushing out her tangles and said, "Sorry if I am hurting you, I am trying to get these tangles out.." he said tugging on them gently. After trying to get the tangles out he hear her whisper. He pretended he didn't hear anything but Puck better watch out.
Justine smiled charmingly, turning her back slightly to allow Kace to brush through her chestnut hair. "You've ever so kind, young merman, I should reward for your gallantry," Looking over her shoulder at him, she fluttered her green eyes sweetly. Ouch, okay haha, no. She cleared her throat. "Gentler, if you don't mind?" She said, biting her lip from saying something scathing to the boy.
And then that Slytherin girl had found Sebastian and the class was over and Justine was relieved because if this guy had kept tugging on her hair like that, she was going to have become violent. "Thank you, I, uh... appreciated it," Another charming smile, though inwardly she felt she had nothing to thank.

He turned around and gave him a quizzical look. Ah so apparently he was the mad hatter. He chuckled and agreed with him. "King Trident I agree with Ben here, I think we need some tea time." he said pointing to him.
