Stepping into the arena, you are immediately enveloped with the light shining into the room, either morning or evening depending on what time you decide to enter. If you can tear your gaze away from the intricately designed windows and high ceilings could, you can see to the very right of the room, there is the long platform in which supervised duels will take place while four benches on either side are placed at a safe distance for those who would like to sit and watch. Just ahead of the platform in the right corner, there is a door, though pay no attention to it. It's locked for a reason.
Towards the back wall, there are various types of practice dummies, both stationary and moving, depending on what difficulty the practicer wants. Don't be afraid to go all out with your spells, for these dummies are charmed to repair themselves. There is one practice dummy set aside that will shoot spells back to the practicer, however, permission from a Professor is required to use it. To the left side of the arena are two sets of stands, eight seats high, that look out to the entire arena, comfortable for those who would just like to watch what's going on all around or for general purposes such as studying or relaxing after a long day in the arena.
The middle of the room is quite empty, due to the fact that the defense Professor enjoys presenting lessons in here, but please, despite the brilliant light that shines through the arena due to the large windows, it is not some place to sunbathe or fall asleep. You will be levitated out with a good dose of cold water splashed on you if caught.

Sander frowned to himself. In normal situations he would have been able to dodge the ropes or send a counter spell back to cut them before they got close to him. But this time he hadn't been able to. His movements were slow and sluggish and he was actually beginning to feel winded.
Then he noticed that Alex was sitting on her knees and he rushed over to her. "Are you okay? You're not hurt are you? Do you want to take a breather?" he asked her. Sander wanted to say that he too needed a rest.

Sander shuffled into the dueling arena. He was already beginning to regret having asked Bay to duel with him. With the current status of his memory, he was already forgetting the incantations to a lot of spells and worried that he would have the problem with his dueling offensive and defensive ones.
He groaned silently when he saw that Bay was already waiting for him in the arena. He was hoping to be able to pull out his spell book and try to remember some of the important spells he would need for this duel, but he wasn't going to be able to do that now.
He waved to Bay and called out to him, "Hey Bay. I can see that you're ready to duel. Have you done it before. I can tell you the ground rules," Sander told him even as he struggled to remember what they were.

Lux had never been to a duel before, so of course she was excited to see Bay and Sander get down to it. Carrying a sign in support of Bay, she took a seat in the stands and waited for them to start. This was going to be a lot of fun!
She hoped that Sander wouldn't mind her supporting Bay. Oops.

Tessa walked into the dueling arena, looking around for where her friends had ended up. She thought she was at the right time... and right day... what was she doing here again? What room was she in...
Thankfully, when she saw Lux in the stands, everything clicked back. She walked over, giving the young Hufflepuff a wave. "Hey there Lux, have they started yet?" she asked, taking a seat and looking for the two boys.

He did remember that bowing was involved and did that first. He bowed to Bay, then turned around and walked five steps before turning around and assuming the dueling position with wand up. Then he noticed Tessa and Lux in the stands and waved to them.

Bay didn't even have a spell in mind and Sander was just to fast… he saw a purple light come at him and he was in a huge bubble… "gahhh you win Sander" he said wondering how he can get out of it...

Okay so it was his time to go first… alright he thought of a spell as he yelled "Alerte Ascendare" if it hit him he would be shot up in the air.. or if he blocked it he should be safe.

Sander heard the words coming out of Bay's mouth and immediately went on the offensive...and then realized he forgot the incantations to the shield charm, 'Protecto....Protectme....wait I know...Protego!". Sander quickly moved his wand, creating an upward arching flick with his wand, followed by a horizontal line and said the words,"Protego" but it was too late.
Bay's spell hit him and sent him flying up in the air...and as he came falling down, that's when he couldn't hold it back any longer.. He let out the fart, he was trying to hold back.
TOOT!!
Sander hoped that neither Bay, or either of the girls sitting in the stands, had heard that.
But then he had worse things to worry about, he was now falling from a great height with nothing to cushion his fall. Flailing his arms, he called out,"Bay! Tessa!! Help!!" he called out even as he looked around for something. Maybe a dummy? All Sander knew was that if someone didn't help him, he was going to fall crashing onto the floor...and Professor Romanos wasn't going to like that...not one bit.
Then he remembered a spell. He waved his wand in a letter S formation, pointed it at the ground and said,"Spongify". He watched as a pink beam of light streamed out from his wand and hit the ground. If his spell worked, the ground would become rubbery and spongy.
Sander closed his eyes and braced himself for the impact. "Please work, please work," he kept whispering to himself. The ground came closer and closer and then.....
BAM!! Sander landed on the ground and bounced up and down a couple of times before lying still on the ground.

"Yes I'm fine. I just got the wind knocked out of me. I'll be fine in a few minutes." Sander reassured Bay as he slowly sat up. The rubberized and spongy flooring had absorbed most of his fall but his body still ached all over.

Sander silently breathed a sigh of relief when Bay declared that they would call their duel a draw. "Err...are you sure? I guess we can try this another time. " Sander relented as he slowly got to his knees and then with his hands balanced on his knees, he pushed himself into an upright standing position...if you called a little hunched over upright.
Then he placed his hand on Bay's shoulder in a friendly gesture of friendship....but mainly to help prop himself up, before waving to the ladies in the stands, motioning them to join them both at the entrance of the arena.
Today's duel would be another draw for Sander. But he was fine with that. As he left the arena, Sander turned around suddenly remembering that he had forgotten to end the Softening Charm. Pointing his wand at the ground, he ended the spell, saying, "Finite."

Agreeing to duel with Alice Fischer could result in a number of things happening:
1) He could lose drastically to someone who was much stronger and braver and... well... scarier than him
2) Alice would kill him, or hit more bludgers at him, if he hurt a hair on her head
3) West would do the same if he hurt Alice. Double bludger attack by the two Captains

Yeah, he was scared. What was he thinking when he agreed to this? ... Mainly that it would be great to hang out with Hulk since they hadn't since... Carter's wedding? With the awkward dance. And Tag causing a fuss because he insisted on sitting next to Alec. A small smile spread across Alec's face as he sloooooowly made his way into the duelling arena. That had been an awesome day.

Might as well lumber up before the Gryffindor Captain got here, yeah? Because he wanted to give this duel his all, even if he knew, deep down inside, that there wouldn't be any winning against Alice.
