Stepping into the arena, you are immediately enveloped with the light shining into the room, either morning or evening depending on what time you decide to enter. If you can tear your gaze away from the intricately designed windows and high ceilings could, you can see to the very right of the room, there is the long platform in which supervised duels will take place while four benches on either side are placed at a safe distance for those who would like to sit and watch. Just ahead of the platform in the right corner, there is a door, though pay no attention to it. It's locked for a reason.
Towards the back wall, there are various types of practice dummies, both stationary and moving, depending on what difficulty the practicer wants. Don't be afraid to go all out with your spells, for these dummies are charmed to repair themselves. There is one practice dummy set aside that will shoot spells back to the practicer, however, permission from a Professor is required to use it. To the left side of the arena are two sets of stands, eight seats high, that look out to the entire arena, comfortable for those who would just like to watch what's going on all around or for general purposes such as studying or relaxing after a long day in the arena.
The middle of the room is quite empty, due to the fact that the defense Professor enjoys presenting lessons in here, but please, despite the brilliant light that shines through the arena due to the large windows, it is not some place to sunbathe or fall asleep. You will be levitated out with a good dose of cold water splashed on you if caught.

... "Alice?" He blinked over at her a couple of times before rubbing his eyes and blinking some more. ... And then he grinned. "You're here! Hey!" ... And this meant that he had to be ready for battle. His complexion paled slightly and he reached up a hand to ruffle his grey-ing hair. This was going to happen, wasn't it? He was going to duel a Gryffindor.
Save him now.
"So... are you ready?" He had questions about this, by the way. This duel. It was a bit surprising to him and... she wasn't trying to take him out before the match, was she? ... Pause. "And... if I hurt you, I'm really sorry, yeah?" You know, so she didn't think he had some pent up aggression towards her. Everything was cool here.
And yes, Alec Blake Summers would have appreciated a snack.

He had said that as a joke but now... if the Headmistress did like to come in here and duel students, Alec was going to stick to this Gryffindor right here. Or maybe he could duel the Headmistress and get a hug out of her.

Benny couldn't remember which one of them had first suggested the idea to practice with some spells in the dueling arena. Not that it altogether mattered since they had both agreed to it eventually, it was just the Gryffindor was having trouble with his memory lately and he just wished he could keep a better grasp on things. Nevertheless, the duo of friends had made plans to come down to the ground floor one day in-between classes and such so Ben appeared there shortly an hour after lunch after he had hung around for the time being.
There was no way he was going to venture upstairs and back, it would take too much time and effort. Coming into the arena, he noticed he was the first one there. Ben made his way to the seating area to wait, no point standing up more than one had to.

And was he going to put down his shield? Since it didn't look like it was coming down, the seventh year feinted left and went right, trying to shoot a spell at him from the side. "Stupefy!" She drew the little line in the air that went along with the incantation as she shot it, putting intention into the spell even if she suspected he'd block it as well.
But no one could block TWO spells unless they were really skilled, so she came at him just as quickly, but from the left this time. He couldn't avoid both unless he made one of those bubble shield, right? Her favorite.
"Calvorio!" Heh. Hehe. Please work.

Adi was wondering if he was going to regret the suggestion of a practice duel. His joints ached in protest with every step he took towards the Dueling Arena. How in the world was she supposed to duel with achy bones?
He hobbled into the Arena, spotting his friend immediately. Those seats were calling his name, too. Ugh! Couldn't they duel while sitting? "Hey, Dragon Benny. You all set? Just so you know, I'm going to go easy on you.'' For the latter part Adi was just kidding around. He knew Benny would also be doing his best. So let's get this show on the road!

"WHAT?! NOOOOOOO! NO NO NO!" He was bald! BALD. A shiny bald head where all of his PRECIOUS hair had been seconds before. Of all the spells to use against him, why did it have to be a HAIR LOSS one?! "My hair is my pride and joy, Fischer!" And she'd better be able to get it all back for him otherwise... otherwise...

The second year nodded, agreeing to beginning. The sooner they got started, the more time they could take. And then the sooner they could both recover from whatever happened from their duel. He took his friend's final words as the go ahead. So after pausing in dueling stance, the Gryffindor took the first spell. "Expelliarmus!"

Alec clapped a hand over his mouth, his eyes widening as he watched his opponent. It wasn't the flying that concerned him but... those cracks? "You okay, Alice?" Because that hadn't sounded great. She was going to get up, right? The boy shuffled forwards slowly before holding out his hand towards her. Come on, up you get, Gryffindor Captain. Please? How will you bite people if you stay there?

It certainly hadn't been taught in their less than two years here at Hogwarts, that much the Gryffindor would remember. His hands absently lifted up to his head to feel what he obviously could not feel.

Adi was sobering up. He had to admit that spell was a lot funnier in actuality than he had imagined when he read about it. It was the first time he actually tried it out so he wasn't sure it would have worked but he was delighted to see that it had.
He hadn't recovered fully, but Benny was already sending another spell at him. He had hardly little time to react before it was upon him. Adi felt as if many hands were tickling him at once. He doubled up and started laughing again. However, it only lasted for a few seconds. And he thought he knew why. "Benny, I think you meant Rictusempra. That's why the spell didn't last longer'' His friend had pronounced it with an "e" sound at the end.
And without saying anymore on the subject, the Badger raised his wand. ''Immobulus!'' he exclaimed and did the tricky wand movement. Blue light shot from his wand and towards Benny.

She was meant to be cutting the ropes away from him and not, you know, taking his wand and towering over him like Godzilla.
He had been robbed. Robbed of his hair and his wand. Great.
