Back from gone, the Maize Maze had been one of the favorite things at Hogwarts back in the days. The Groundskeeper had looked up some of the school Grounds history and decided to bring it back again. The name says it all doesn't it? A maze in the middle of a corn field! Can you find your way out?

Because what was the point if you didn't??
Adi laughed at the look on Caleb's voice when he said Hufflepuff was the best. It was, in his opinion but he knew his new friend would think Slytherin was the best. "Yes! I love it! Everyone's super friendly!'' Well, except for one dude who had hardly spared the time to speak to him.
Stepping into the maze, Adi looked around as he prodded the wall of Maize. "I doubt it,'' he replied. "Maybe we could show them how it's done. We could take a short cut. You know, blast or cut our way through using magic.'' He winked. He was kidding but it would be really cool if they could time themselves to see how long it took them to get out. Besides, he was guessing he and Caleb did not know much magic.

His confusion and frown were gone though, and replaced by a smile. He'd also stopped looking weirdly at the boy, but he was STILL suspicious. Who would forget about the scratching incident so easily? Obviously, Forrest couldn't.
"It's a house, just like Ravenclaw." Had the boy--Benjamin--said he was from it?!?!?!11 "And Gryffindor and Slytherin. Like, Ravenclaw is the house of clever, Gryffindor is of brave, Slytherin of ambitious," his face was shadowed at the last part, "and we are loyal, y'know? But most importantly, we're normal people." So, no weird, scratching boys. ALL NORMAL HERE.
At least the boy wasn't laughing at him. Benzi didn't think he would have been able to handle the Boy From the Train mocking him. Even that smile sort of bothered him, but Benzi wasn't offended enough to walk away. Yet. Who knows, perhaps Hufflepuff is a code name for people who're really stupid and annoying
But that actually made no sense because why would anyone say they were a Hufflepuff? Hmm.
At the boy's words however, Benzi's eyes widened in understanding. "Ohhh," he nodded, and smiled back. Why hadn't he just SAID so?! "So, wait, you're saying I'm clever but you're, er, loyal? And if Giffridom's are brave and you guys are normal does that mean the rest of us aren't?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
But Benzi was pleased. He was in the smart people house! That meant he was smart too. Oh OH OH that meant he was in Mummy's house, there was no way she hasn't been in the House of the Super Brainy! Awesome.

Well, it sounded BAD when you put it like that--as if Hufflepuff really were the stupid ones--but Forrest nodded. Being loyal didn't hinder brain. Besides, soon Benjamin would learn Hufflepuff had been winning school cup for a long time and was the best.
Wait. Did he really sound like that?
"I don't mean you aren't normal." He was an inch away from flailing. What he hated most was being misunderstood. "I'm just saying Hufflepuffs are normal humans too. You asked what it is?" Remember?
Really, was he allowed to leave now? He never knew how to end a conversation. He might have to ask Cassia about it.
Taking another one of his usual strolls around the grounds Tag came upon a ... maze. Staring at it for a few seconds he contemplated whether he should go in or not. They didn't scare him, and eventually he'd find his way out, but it was almost lunch time for him. What if he was stuck in there until midnight and he had NO FOOD TO EAT! The tragedy that could arise from this.
With a short sigh Tag took a few steps into the maze. Hearing a voice, Tag sharply turned his head and saw a girl standing near him. Squinting his eyes a bit more Tag realized he knew this girl. Not well, but he knew her enough to remember her name. "Sarah! Hi!" He said, waving at his fellow Gryffindor. "Do you wanna get through this together? Like the brave reckless Gryffindors that we are?" Please.
Sarah whirled around, "Hi Tag!" she exclaimed with a grin, feeling quite thankful that her complextion did not allow her to blush. Together? Two heads make it better but... "sure! that would be great." She said with a smile. "Should we do it like real lions and not follow the usual maze trick, as sticking to a wall all along, or should we be real lions and brave our own path?" She asked.
"Do you know anything about this maze? Like does it work towards the middle or the other side?" she asked. Because if she knew it, she can work it out using tricks... unless they were roughing it like real Gryffindors.

Sharky flail!jumped out of Cat's arms and stuck her little tail up straight into the air as she sauntered off towards the maze, ignoring the boy entirely. Cat raised an eyebrow at the sassy!cat before turning her face back to Stan. "Well, that meeting went well, don't you think?" She grinned, "Hope the little dear didn't crush your pride."
Hehe.
"She's alright." She waved her hand in the direction of the kitten. This was a first for her, Sharky usually liked basically everyone. "Anyway." Cat bounced a little, "You want to do the maze with me? I was thinking about it but it would be more fun with another person."
Particularly it would be more fun with Mo cause maybe they could 'get lost' and have a kiss or two... huh. Save that idea for later.
......
Stan grinned a little as he watched the cat stalk off. OKAY. So.. he was probably just a tiny bit hurt that Sharky didn't even LOOK at him but maybe she would grow to like him? He wasn't going to give up that easily, sorry.
"Oh, I'm not heartbroken, Caterina. She'll end up liking me eventually, you'll see." Stan said, turning to look at Cat again. Heh. Always optimistic, this boy was.
Stan furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. She asked him to do the maze with her but.. she wanted to do it with someone else? Why ask him in the first place then? "Well.. it's okay if you want to do it with someone else." He said, with a light shrug. He didn't mind, really.

Yes! She remembered his name and he remembered her name. Good. Now Tag didn't need a 'hello my name is' tag. Awesome! Listening to Sarah a bit Tag glanced into the corn field maze. "Ummmm..." He said thinking about their options a bit. "Well, putting our hands on the wall seems smart. But... ordinary, and slightly dull. Yes? I say we brave it out like lions." Tag said with a smile. Hopefully she would be ok with this. She had suggested it, so she must be good with either.
Work towards the middle or end up on the other side. "Logistically I think it works towards the other side." He said with a nod. "But we can try and make our way towards the middle and see what happens from there. Actually, if we try to get to the middle, there might be a straight pathway from there that then leads to the exit. Let's try the middle first, yeah?" Both of their ideas could be put to use at the same time.

"Forward MARCH" she said and she began to march just for the fun of it. They go to the first T junction, "lets take turns giving directions. We will alternate at each intersection as to who gives the directions". It may not be helpful, but at least it is fair.

"My twin is in Ravenclaw, though, so we aren't together," she told him, biting her lip and shrugging slightly.
Cool was definitely the word for that. "It is and that's because they are, I think. At least .. everyone that I've met is really nice. For sure!" She could say that about everyone, except maybe Shifty!Sonea. "Yeah? Peoples are too nice to let things like that effect friendship," she said with a nod. "UMMMM...I dunno. Did we pass this broken piece of maize before?" he asked, pointing to a piece of the maize wall that had snapped off and was hanging off the edge of the maze.
Come on, this couldn't be THAT hard!
"You have a twin TOO?" he asked, his mouth dropping open in awe. COOOOL! He wondered how many twins there were in the school, and in his year. "Boy or girl? Please say not identical, the last thing I need is to say hi to your twin in the hall and embarrass myself," he chuckled.

Adi soon came to a fork. He looked i both directions, pondering which side to take. He decided to let his new friend make the choice. "Which side should we go?'' They could always double back when they came to a dead end.

"I get it," she nodded and thought. Honestly, she thought that any house would be great and that she could make it 'home' there, but she also couldn't be happier with the house she was in. Forrest was in it and Elodie was in it and it couldn't be better! "Well ... you ARE with her, so that's great. I wanted to be with Dee, too, but that didn't happen." So lucky Caleb and Sophie.
Broken piece? What broken piec- ohhh. That one. "I'm not sure, I forgot to pay attention to the maze bits." Pause. "What if we can't get ouuuuut?" Actually, that would just mean more time for adventures and the like and that wouldn't be TOO bad. But food. She needed it. Merlin, they'd better get out! "I think we should go that way," she decided and pointed in a random direction. Depending on how big the maze actually was, they were bound to get out eventually, no matter where they went.
Distracted again.
"I dooooo!" Bristol enthused and grinned. "Isn't it the BEST?" They could spend so much time together and play and go adventures and it was just great. "Girl. Her name's Dee and nope, we're not identical. She dyed her hair with streaks of blue, anyway." Just streaks at the moment, but she knew that her twin wanted it ALL blue when she was older.
"You should bring her a treat next time, yeah? She loves treats and at least you'll get her attention for about two seconds." Cat grinned and eyed Sharky again. "She usually likes everyone, but I think she likes boys more. She'll like you." Eventually.

... "Okay. Let's do it." Stan winked at her before he started to walk towards the maze. "So.. Cat. Tell me something interesting about yourself." They could just talk while walking, right? Riiight.
After settling in to his new house without his best friend and getting to know his fellow Hufflepuffs not Abbi, Donny decided it was time to explore the grounds, so after walking along the lake and running as faaaaaaaaaaaar as his body would let him he ended up at the maze.
He beamed up at the maze before sitting down to catch his breath, if you wanted to explore you needed to breathe! Everything was more fun at Hogwarts! The only other maze he'd ever been to was one back in Ireland, but that one had been tiny compared to how big this one seemed.

"I will go first, I say we take a right, as right is right" she said. "so.." she said, they might as well talk as they go. "what subjects are you doing for OWLS?"[/QUOTE]
"Yeah, we are!" Tag spoke excitedly as he punched the air. A portkey. Maybe that would be a sort of last minute rescue type of thing. "Maybe there is one, if things become unbearable. Like, if some creature finds their way into the maze a portkey shows up. I don't think the school wants more accidents."
Haha. Sarah was marching and Tag watched her, smiling, as she went forward like a soldier. He, though, opted to take a normal formation of walking. "Yeah, I take the next turn."
And so, coming upon a T intersection Tag waited on Sarah whom decided that they would take a turn to the right. "Right is always right. No doubt about it." Tag said with a small smile. Now, Sarah was asking him about OWLS, those dreaded owls. He hadn't put too much thought into it, at least, not looking into the textbooks at the moment. For now he was just trying to figure out which ones he'd like to do. "I think I'm gonna go for the subjects I seem to have a good grasp on. I'd go for an easy route and try to not fail." He said with a shudder. "Well, I think for one muggle studies, maybe care of magical creatures, ancient runes, and I really like Divination." Other classes he was... not so sure of. "What classes are you thinking about?" Tag asked Sarah in return as they came to a four way stop after their previous right turn.
"Yeah, we are!" Tag spoke excitedly as he punched the air. A portkey. Maybe that would be a sort of last minute rescue type of thing. "Maybe there is one, if things become unbearable. Stopping for a second Tag went straight ahead.
" Other classes he was... not so sure of. "What classes are you thinking about?" Tag asked Sarah in return as they came to a four way
Sarah smiled at his punch in the air, he would get along with her brothers well. "Good point. I think in the wizarding world, mazes can only exist for underaged wizarding folk, as once people come of age they might disapparate out of the maze when they feel fustrated and give up. Unless they are a true lion and they march on ahead"
So he was not marching? It was okay with her... mind you, maybe it was time for skipping- nah you could only skip in spring as they air was perfect for it and in summer. She would stick to marching now. "I feel bad for people whose left hand is there wand hand. Minority of the population, they should just embrace their differences." she said. Totally random, but not as random as potatoes (the topic that she thought should always come up when talking to an Irishman. It went with their accent.
Sarah listened to what he was saying, "I guess that is the safest route. I lack the patience for DDivinition, being more of an Intellectual, and I found it hard to grasp Ancient Runes, with the Norse gods story, so I am thinking of dropping them. I am going to Professor Bentley for my Career Advice soon, so hopeful then I will narrow down my options for the future. I think I am definately going to keep Muggle Studies as well, as my parents raised us to be comfortable in both the muggle society and the wizarding one. Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology I will probably keep anyway as my family lives on a farm so I am exposed to both those subjects. Like in the summer I delivered a calf, using what I learnt in Care of Magical creatures." She was not nearly sorted into Ravenclaw for nothing. As she talked she did not notice that it was an intersection coming up until Tag stopped. It was a good thing he stopped or else Sarah would have gone on as if nothing had happened. The turned a corner, following the winding of the path until they reached another intersection, "for tradition sake, I say right again" she said. She was so busy enjoying the socialising she had forgotten to analyse the direction (She hada keen sense of which direcction) and just flippantly chose that direction. She had not realised that her marching had ceased a while back and she was walking now. She took a right.
"So, if you are from Ireland, do you like Potatoes??" That had to come up.

"NO!" There it was happening again, the scratching sensation. His arms were all prickled, and it was spreading to his legs. It was too much pressure. He closed his eyes and breathed through his mouth, but it didn't help at all.

It was at least for Forrest. But he was still more angry and confused than he was embarrassed, so he just shook his head at Benjamin and turned his back to him to walk away.

Cat followed the boy to the maze, skipping alongside him as she did. Something about herself, hmm? "Well, my name is Caterina which rhymes with ballerina but people call me Cat which rhymes with bat which I hope to use if I make the Quidditch team this term. My last name is Moretti and it rhymes with Spaghetti which is awesome because I like all food and I think my favorite is cupcakes."
Had he caught all that? She was sure he had. "I also have amazingly beautiful and soft hair and I'm a lot shorter than you and it's not very fair." After that, she bounced, trying, just for a MOMENT, to match his height. Anyway, those were all important things about her.

Stan listened to her speak, looking VERY amused. She apparently liked to rhyme a lot too. He nodded seriously when she said Spaghetti was awesome. Of course. He LOVED food but Italian was his favourite. I think Elodie mentioned something about Spaghetti with ice-cream once. Have you tried that?"
Beautiful and soft hair? Well, yeah. She did have nice hair.. although he liked his hair the most. So.. sorry, Cat. "How short are you?" Stan asked, looking down at her with a grin. He was pretty tall though.. 5'9" already and he was only 15.

Spaghetti with ice cream, sigh, Elodie, sigh. Cat's Italian roots were withering and dying over that combination. Awful. "Eh, no, I haven't. I mean they're both good separate but together, that's just a sin." She was SO sure. "At least at my house, anyway." Truth. "Plus I am totally off ice cream for a while after last term." Had anyone filled him in on that yet?
"Also, gelato is a million times better than regular ice cream." Yep.
Cat gave Stan a look that spoke how not amused she was about his height. Not amused, boy. "I'm 5'5." She admitted, "I was hoping to grow over the summer, but I didn't." Not really, not her height, anyway. "I guess that's not SO short, but almost all of the boys are taller than me. Even Elodie is."

"Exactly." Stan nodded. He was pretty sure they'd tasted rather.. weird together but he was certain that at some point, Elodie was going to ask him to try it. Sigh. Waiiiiit. Totally off ice-cream? He raised an eyebrow at her. "Why? Are you dieting?" Because that's just silly. And he nodded once more when she said that Gelato was better than ice-cream. "Absolutely." It was kind of surprising that they had so much in common. Hm.
Stan laughed when he caught her glaring at him. "Well.. you're really not THAT short, you know." If that made her feel any better. And no, he didn't say that just to make her feel better. It was true. "Besides, 5'5" is a good height for a girl, I think."

SPOILER!!: Sarah!
"Yeah, that's a good point. They could easily cheat, leave the maze and be done with it. Unless there's some sort of magic that stops people from disapparating out of the maze. That'd make things more interesting." Tag said, agreeing with her point.
"They could walk backwards."He suggested. And then, ever so suddenly, Tag turned around so that his back was towards Sarah, and placing his left hand on the maze, began to walk backwards. With some difficulty though. Trying to keep the same pace with Sarah, tripping slightly, he nodded at her. Wow. Sarah really knew why she wasn't doing the subjects she didn't want to further herself in. Tag's main reason was that he just got too confused too easily.
"I feel like if I do more than five subjects/owls, then it'd just be too much for me to handle, you know? But, you've really got everything in order." He said as he listened to her some more. [B]I'm half and half, but I like using the muggle way better. And, it seemed like her attending CoMC had helped her out. Unfortunately Tag had not gone to that particular lesson. "A calf? Whoa. Did it take long?"
And so Sarah decided for them to take a right, and again, with some difficulty, still walking backwards, Tag made an awkward right turn. Shaking his head at the potato thing Tag answered Sarah, "Errr... well I like a lot of foods. But my top three dishes are anything pasta, pizza and macaroni and cheese."
Now they came to another section and Tag pointed towards the left and quickly ran over to the opposite side. "Left!" He called out, in case Sarah hadn't realized.

Just another normal day for Wade, in his free time at least. Walking out towards the grounds as usual, he walked he began to noticed something different further ahead. Hm? He blinked as he got closer to what looked like a maze of corn field.. was this always here? Hm. Maybe he could have a little adventure in there, just maybe. It sure sounded fun.

Christmas was out exploring the grounds this year and she stopped when she came across a corn maze and thought was it was never there when she had first arrived at Hogwarts and she wanted to explore but she didn't want to do it alone and she bumped into a guy who was older than her and was wearing the head boy badge and said "Sorry wasn't paying attention to where i was walking"
