Sophie had a good question. Where would he want to go if Ravenclaw wasn't working out? "I don't know, really. I'm not sure where else I would fit. I guess I better hope really hard that everything works out fine." Blake knew that it would, but it was always good to keep options open.

He jabbed his thumb in the direction of the maize maze's entrance. "Did you want to go in? I was going to go for a stroll myself...some company would be nice." Especially if they got lost.

"Congratulations on becoming Slytherin," Blake added. "I remembered you said that you had a brother...what became of him?"

Oh, a maze. Hogwarts was so COOL. Stan had been exploring the grounds for a while. The lake, the pathways and now, THIS. He liked mazes.. and he was pretty sure he could find his way out of this one. But then, he got distracted when he noticed a familiar face nearby.

CAT.. and the other cat must be Sharky. Stan grinned and walked towards them, running a hand through his messy hair.

"Hey." Hello to you too, Sharky.

"Hiiiiiii Stan." Cat grinned at the boy as he appeared seemingly out of nowhere. People tended to do that here, she'd gotten used to it by now. Sharky gave a loud meow of protest as Cat waved one of her cute little pink and orange padded paws at the boy, "Say hello, Sharky, be a lady." GOSH. This cat was NOT a lady. She was a warrior. Hunter. Gatherer. Beast.

Oh well. Sharky was being uncooperative. Maybe she wanted to go in the maze or maybe she just didn't like Stan. She liked Mo well enough, except for that one time he rolled over and she fell off of him. She hadn't liked that one bit. But anyway, it wasn't just boys in general.

"How are you?" Stan asked, grinning back at her.

... Stan raised his eyebrows. Didn't the cat like him? Aw, he was a little disappointed. But.. that wasn't even possible. Animals liked him.. especially cats. There were THREE cats back home and even though, they belonged to his siblings, he was pretty sure they loved him the most. Oh, wait. Maybe she was just hungry.. or MAYBE she wanted to go in the maze. Hm.

"Is she okay?" Stan asked finally, staring curiously at Sharky.

Nerida had already went to the common room, sent a letter to her mother that she was at Hogwarts since apparently she could get lost on the train. She was ready for classes to start and see her friends again, like Laura. But for now she would go see what changed... Not that much right? She decided to catch some air, to the grounds the Ravenclaw went.

After walking she reached...A field of corn? Looking around...Why was there a corn field.... Raising an eyebrow she looked around, it was kind of random did Hogwarts need to start growing their own food. Still there were a lot of people here so maybe it was something other than a random field of corn. Entranceway? Nice little walk...Though maybe she should go find someone...Or maybe one would pop up.

"Really, don't worry about it! No permanent damage," she assured him. To be honest, she wasn't sure how she'd be able to tell if there had been permanent damage, but if there was, she wasn't worse off because of it. So, it clearly didn't matter. "I think I only needed to walk around and clear my head after it happened." That had seemed to help, though she had stumbled into a few people, but that wasn't a necessary thing to mention. Not at all.

Let's just pretend it didn't happen.

"Great!" At least someone besides herself seemed ready and rearing to go into this maze of mazeness and adventure! "Do you like mazes?" She asked, before being distracted by question he asked her. "I got into Hufflepuff," she expressed with a grin, "that's the house by best friend is in." Speaking as though he'd knew who she meant. "What about you?" Pause. "You missed half of the ceremony? Why?"

Adi liked this kid. He was polite and all. Plus he seemed cool. He grinned when he heard the boy fit right in. "Well, I got placed in the best!'' He paused for dramatic effect. "Hufflepuff!'' Of course Caleb will think differently about Puffer House being the best House.

Awesome! Adi was pretty glad to have a buddy to go on the Maze Adventure. Not that he was afraid of getting lost or anything. "Okay! If you're not waiting for anyone, let's get going!'' The firstie excitedly jogged his way back over to the entrance.

Kat didn't seem to have class until a few hours from now, not that she planned on skipping classes. Could you imagine Head Girl Katrina Hudson skipping her classes? Because that didn't seem possible. She always tried her best to attend all her classes especially since this year was her final one and that meant NEWTs at the end of the term. More studying, which is boring, but she had no choice. Her results would affect her future and she wanted her future to be a successful one. Oh wait, hello there. "Hey," she greeted her dorm mate. No winks or blown kisses just yet. They weren't really lost or anything yet, right? "The Maize Maze. I guess the name says it all." Kat remembered going in here with Kendall and her cat Accio. Trying to recall where they went during that term, Kat looked around. It didn't change a lot.

Benzi blinked, and walked over to investigate further. Of course, he'd been investigating everything for the past few hours and he STILL hadn't finished with just the grounds. It said in Jake's letter, which he'd recieved last night, that he should probably get to know his way around a bit otherwise he'd get lost. The eleven year old didn't really see why being lost was necessarily a bad thing, but he liked the idea of exploring anywa-

A MAIZE MAZE.

Did they even realise what they had here?! Laughing to himself, Benzi picked at a corn stalk and eyed the inside. Hmm.. To go in now or perhaps save this maze for some other time when he was really bored and had nothing to do?

Sharky flail!jumped out of Cat's arms and stuck her little tail up straight into the air as she sauntered off towards the maze, ignoring the boy entirely. Cat raised an eyebrow at the sassy!cat before turning her face back to Stan. "Well, that meeting went well, don't you think?" She grinned, "Hope the little dear didn't crush your pride."

Hehe.

"She's alright." She waved her hand in the direction of the kitten. This was a first for her, Sharky usually liked basically everyone. "Anyway." Cat bounced a little, "You want to do the maze with me? I was thinking about it but it would be more fun with another person."

Particularly it would be more fun with Mo cause maybe they could 'get lost' and have a kiss or two... huh. Save that idea for later.

Forrest was determined to enjoy the grounds before winter better this year. Last year he had been too gloomy to get out of his common room, but this year he thought the opposite: he was going to spend all his energy out not to think about how he missed his family. And so he was strolling around--

Was that a field in the middle of Hogwarts? He frowned. Was it a Herbology activity? He walked towards it and only then did it get clearer: it was a maze made of corn. He wasn't too excited about the idea, though. He was just bound to get lost in it and--

Was that, that boy? Just perfect. Forrest had been standing right beside him and eyeing the maze with worried eyes, and he noticed him only now. Who had advised him to get out of the safety of his common room anyway? This wasn't going to end well, and he was just going to feel worse than he would have if he had stayed in his bed. Now he had to greet the boy who thought he was a weird freak. Excuse him if his face didn't look excited and pleased.

"Hi." Yeah. Hi. He wasn't supposed to say more, was he?

Benzi was thoughtful as he weighed his options. To continue with his tour of the grounds or get lost in this maze? Or perhaps just cut the grounds and go to the castle which had looked SO awesome on the way down this morning. It had actually taken Benzi quite a bit to find his way outside, and only really managed it because he'd just ended up following a bunch of people out.

He should probably go to the castle and learn it. But turning away from this maze was like backing out of a fight.

Then he heard the greeting, and blinked as he turned to look at the boy who had crept up on him. "Oh hey!" he exlaimed, pointing at the the boy as he recognised him, "you're that guy from the train! You're not a first year are you? Didn't see you get sorted..." he mused, looking at him.

There was also something else about him, but Benzi couldn't for the life of him remember what it was. Eh well, it'll come to him later. Perhaps it was the reason the boy looked so down.

Forrest unconsciously held his breath as he waited for some laughter and/or mocking comments. He waited and waited, his face got redder and STILL he waited; but no such comments were issued in the end. In fact, if he dared admitting himself, the boy looked friendly. But just how friendly was he? Maybe this was another way of mocking? Maybe the mock would come later, after pulling him into the depths of the maze? No! Forrest so was NOT entering the maze--

"Oh, no, I'm second year. From Hufflepuff." His answer was a second or two late.

Good ol' Hufflepuff. He was truly a shame to it.

He didn't even have to ask him the same question. Of course Forrest had watched every bit of his sorting. Of course he knew the boy was a Benjamin Rider, first year, Ravenclaw. Of course he knew that he should avoid the seventh floor now to avoid the boy himself. What he didn't know was, the boy would wander here.

Ravenclaws. They were far too curious for their own good.

Before he could hold himself though, he had already asked the question: "You?"

Why Forrest, why? Why are you continuing this conversation? Oh yeah. Because he had to prove the boy he was no freak.

"I was so nervous I couldn't even focus on anything until they called my name," Caleb explained with a shrug. He was too busy trying to get his thoughts in order for the hat! He was trying to make the hat's job EASIER, obviously. "I'm in Slytherin! So is my twin sister. Grandpa will be proud," he said with a grin, although he left out the part about how his father probably had a heart attack when he read their letter home.

"That's cool that you know someone in your house. Everyone here seems REALLY nice," he added as they walked through the maze. "I was always afraid that houses would divide people but, no one seems to really mind," he added as an afterthought.

The BEST? Ehhhh....well, agree to disagree, Caleb decided. He grinned and chuckled. "Whatever you say, man. Do you like it?" he asked. As long as HE was happy, that was all that mattered, right?

He followed the guy into the maze, keeping his distance short between Adi and between Bristol so he could talk to both of them, and lightly touched the walls made of corn as he walked. This was so weird! "Do you think we get a prize for winning?" he asked.

Because what was the point if you didn't??

Second year. Hufflepuff. Benzi's face suddenly strained as tried to remember what exactly that was. He'd heard the word being used quite a bit, but last night was really all about the food and then he'd gone to bed and had very little interest in anything but his pillow.

Well. Mummy DID say it was better to ask than to pretend and look stupid, but Benzi had the feeling that he was going to look stupid either way, but then the boy asked him the same question and he suddenly felt very uncomfortable.

"I..." it took him a second, "am a first year. Benzi," he said, scratching the back of his neck. THIS WAS WEIRD. He should probably find out what Hufflepuff was. Tugging on his tie, he tried to appear his coolest as he asked, "What exactly is a Hufflepuff?"

Benzi. But his name was Benjamin, no? Forrest wondered whether he would hate him for calling him Benjamin. Benzi/jamin probably hated him anyway. Forrest honestly didn't think it would make any difference.

Why was he just as confused as Forrest was, though? Was he thinking about some malice comments?

..."What?" He was frowning and looking confused at its deepest. What did he mean by 'What is a Hufflepuff?'? Was this how he condescended to him?

Sarah was meant to be getting started on her OWL revision (she was meant to revise every day in order to get good results), yet she was restless and decided to head out instead. There was a cool maze that she had heard about and she was ready to try it. Perhaps, after a maze break she would get back to the books.

The maze stood before, imposing yet inviting. She was eager to get stuck into it. As she neared the entrance, she heard voices of students inside. "this Maze is aMAZING. I wonder what is in the center?" she mused out loud. She flicked her braid back and square herself, bravely walking towards the entrance. It would be better with a partner and all, in case she got lost. Also, there would be ample time for speaking in the maze.She looked around to see if there would be someone to go with her

Her eyes widened when the third year old looked at the maze and she wanted to see more of it. "Little Pricess, Sir Blue, you can walk if you want" said Sonea to her two rats while she opened her pocket so that her two rats could jump toward the ground and walk with her. She looked with a smile at her two rats who were now playing with each other and stopped, wondering if it would be smart to take something with her to find her way back...

"What, what?!" Benzi huffed, and crossed his arms over his chest protectively. SO WHAT if he didn't know what Hufflepuff was. Benzi could bet other people didn't know too when they were first years! He just hadn't really been paying attention, that's not a CRIME.

"I don't know what a Hufflepuff is all right, so stop looking at me like I've fallen off the moon," Benzi stated, glaring at the boy with the yellow and black tie. Mummy had wanted to give him the same experience she'd had when she'd first come to Hogwarts, but he strongly suspected that Mummy as a first year knew what Hufflepuff was.

Hmpf.

Taking another one of his usual strolls around the grounds Tag came upon a ... maze. Staring at it for a few seconds he contemplated whether he should go in or not. They didn't scare him, and eventually he'd find his way out, but it was almost lunch time for him. What if he was stuck in there until midnight and he had NO FOOD TO EAT! The tragedy that could arise from this.

With a short sigh Tag took a few steps into the maze. Hearing a voice, Tag sharply turned his head and saw a girl standing near him. Squinting his eyes a bit more Tag realized he knew this girl. Not well, but he knew her enough to remember her name. "Sarah! Hi!" He said, waving at his fellow Gryffindor. "Do you wanna get through this together? Like the brave reckless Gryffindors that we are?" Please.

Wow, someone didn't like to be critisised.

Forrest raised his eyebrows at boy's folded arms, and it took all his will not to laugh then. He didn't know what a Hufflepuff was! HA! HAHAHA--no, no no, he wasn't laughing. His confusion and frown were gone though, and replaced by a smile. He'd also stopped looking weirdly at the boy, but he was STILL suspicious. Who would forget about the scratching incident so easily? Obviously, Forrest couldn't.

"It's a house, just like Ravenclaw." Had the boy--Benjamin--said he was from it?!?!?!11 "And Gryffindor and Slytherin. Like, Ravenclaw is the house of clever, Gryffindor is of brave, Slytherin of ambitious," his face was shadowed at the last part, "and we are loyal, y'know? But most importantly, we're normal people." So, no weird, scratching boys. ALL NORMAL HERE.

Sophie just grinned. "There's not much that can go wrong with Ravenclaw. If it does, all you have to do is eat and sleep with them. The rest of the time, you can do your own thing," she said. Although, it would be pretty bad to hate the house you had to be in for seven whole years.

She followed his gesture toward the maze. Was she going to go in? She tried to come up with something confident to say, but all that came out was, "Uhh..." She looked as far into the maze as she could see. It would be good to have somebody to go with, especially a smart Ravenclaw. "Okay, let's go," she said.

She gestured for him to go forward and added, "Thanks, I'm pleased." About her sorting, she meant. "Caleb? He's a snake, too. It sort of runs in the family."

Ahhhh, the wonderful smell of the fresh Autumn air. Nothing was more perfect on this lovely day to Nate. So he decided, why not spend some time outside? What a better way to do that other then to go to the Maize Maze. It wasn't just a lovely way to breath in the fresh air, but it was also a good way for exercise. Nate had been putting on a few pounds since last year. Let's just say his summer consisted of eating, and sleeping. That pretty much it.

Anyways upon entering the Maze of Maize Nate thought to himself I should probably go in with someone else. Even though I'm a sixth year. I would be safer though to go in with another person or group That left Nate just staring blankly at the entrance. Almost as if he were in a trance, but not completely in a trance. Also it wasn't like what happened the one term with Amarantha and the orb, and all sorts of other random craziness.

"What's your last name?" She'd hopefully be able to picture how long he'd had to stand around being nervous for. Sounded logical to her. "You shouldn't have been nervous, though, it was a fun experience!" That she was sure of. Plus the hat was a nice hat, at least to her. Was that a weird thing to think? That a hat was nice, like .. KIND? Speaking of the hat and sorting .. "Congratulations! You have a twin, too?" Bristol couldn't help it - she let out a little squeal. It wasn't everyday she met someone who also has a twin! "My twin is in Ravenclaw, though, so we aren't together," she told him, biting her lip and shrugging slightly.

Cool was definitely the word for that. "It is and that's because they are, I think. At least .. everyone that I've met is really nice. For sure!" She could say that about everyone, except maybe Shifty!Sonea. "Yeah? Peoples are too nice to let things like that effect friendship," she said with a nod. Surely, no one was superficial enough to let them affect them. Silly peoples they would be.

Umm ..

"Caleb? Are we going the right waaaaaaaay?" It all looked the same to her.

she was confused. why was Hudson standing here, alone. she had no idea really but, she was interested to find out, so,she nudged the girl and gave her a smirk. "So ready for classes later?" she asked reluctantly I know I'm not summer seem to fly by didn't it?" She unfolded her arms and looked towards the maze "we should go. You wanna?" she asked her you know before classes and all she bit her lip and looked at the head girl they could totally do it you know Merlin willing they didn't get lost or something she looked over and back to the maze did she want to go? can they make it back before class Ariana wanted to find out.
