"Oh be quiet and eat your chocolate." she instructed the one hiding under the table
:: Ganymede once again mimicked Ariana, "oh be quiet and eat your chocolate..." Ganymede was a younger sister and she played that part very well.
Most of the chocolate was eaten by now, Ganymede's stomach ached.
"That chocolate must of been tainted. I feel like I swallowed a glumbumble. I could care less about anything right now other than my aching tummy." She whined and sprawled out to be more comfortable. She didn't care that more students were becoming involved and it was only a matter of time before a stuck up tattle tale would ruin it all.
Ganymede began to daydream.. some good ideas involving a Jarvey were being formulated as she stared at the underside of the table. ::

She was using her wand as an indicator. Her wand pointed to Theo when she was commenting about not casting the reversal spell on him. She wasn't intending to cast it - and really, if anything went wrong. Ah well. Still, it wasn't like she had anything against anyone here.

Mika was not happy at all. She wasn't unfamiliar with the concept of bothers and she knew the school if this girl even so much as threw a punch she would totally just let the girl have points taken away from her house. She just stood up tall, straight, set her shoulders and looked her in the eyes.
"Alright calm down I never cast a spell on a slytherin." She told the girl her voice getting stronger and deeper in her tough and strong voice she spoke once more. "Listen you will not threaten me. How about you and I exchange names and try to calm down...wait - look at your plate isn't that cool? Its just POOF food appears." She laughed a bit smiling.
Mika was set on if this girl even moved to hurt her she would cast a body binding spell on her.

Yes the cat would learn that there were other felines out there like him and they needed as much love. "Oh yeah, that's very good! I think things would be a whole lot more tense if people died and I'd hate to know that on my first train ride someone didn't make it to school!" It was a horrible thought so she sought to change the subject which Cassia did when she started explaining stuff about the nurse.
Hmmm..."Well she sounds pretty evil to me from what I've heard, plus earlier I saw her take 10 points off Ravenclaw for a very silly reason." She tried not to say that too loud just in case the healer might have been listening somehow. She didn't want to lose any points for her house. That would have been the worst and would have made her a horrible lion!
Lex chuckled when the girl called herself terrible then tried to take it back. "It's okay, I wouldn't have asked you anyway. It's nothing personal but i don't trust anyone to raise a wand at me." There was no telling what could happen!
______
She sighed at Cassia when she tried to convince her that it was only 5 points. It may have only been 5 but her house would notice then they'd be angry and disown her...she didn't want to stop being a lion...
Merlin what was wrong with these people?!?!? They kept going back and forth in their arguments and none of them seemed ready to give in. She sighed a silent sigh and tried not to think about them and all the trouble they were trying to get her into...especially that Mika girl. Didn't anyone who offered chocolate have to be nice...?
That had to be like a rule or something.
When she finally relaxed enough again after that little shock she took the paper to write but dropped the pencil, letting it roll off the table and on to the ground, when she saw the girl wave her wand at her.
Seriously?! What had she done to deserve this?! She hadn't done anything to the girl!!
Before she could shout in her mind again the girl cast the spell, then cast it again. She cringe at the thought of being hit by a spell; Lex didn't trust anyone to wave a wand at her. She opened her eyes when it was over...afraid to try speaking...this was horrible. The poor 11 year old was now close to tears...55 points from Gryffindor and it would be all her fault.
She would never be nice to another girl with chocolate again...
Her heart skipped a beat when she heard the Headmistress delivering the last sentence of the speech. She swallowed hard, knowing that soon she would have to go to the Professor and let him see that someone had lifted the charm--though it wasn't her fault. If she lost any more point she would rearrange this girl's face. -___-
Cassia really felt how Alexa was feeling. It felt just like when Cassia's grandmother would punish her and forbid her to speak for a couple of hours. Not that her grandmother ever casted a spell on her…maybe she'd have had Cassia's mother wasn't around! The point is being not able to speak was indeed torture! Cassia knew that much. Had Cassia been in that situation she'd have probably died! A shudder went through the second year's body just picturing the situation. For sure Slytherin house would have lost 50 points right away. Thank the odds that didn't happen.
But competition aside, Cassia felt bad for the first year who clearly wasn't having a nice time silently with a paper and a pencil! Honestly Professor Scabior! But what other choice did Alexa have. Cassia pushed the paper towards Alexa, "I know it's horrible!" She said her eyes widening! Erm…that wasn't really helpful, reminding the girl how terrible and unpleasant this situation was. "I mean you know you could try and express your feelings on paper!" Cassia said doubtfully. Like that would work! She held out the pencil slowly. Well, if Alexa wanted to she would take it and if she didn't Cassia totally understood that. Wasn't that horrible writing down your feelings instead of speaking them out! It was for the twelve year-old snake.
------
And then the headmistress continued her speech after she and a couple of Professors exchanged some words. Cassia didn't pay much attention to that part. Cassia wrinkled her forehead when the red-headed woman mentioned the abnormal events. Yeah…she said there won't be any or something like that. Well, good luck with that! Cassia thought. Because she had the impression that abnormal was going to be the theme of the year!

Lex look at all of them. This had gotten out of hand pretty quickly. Ganymede was under the table eating all the chocolates, though that didn't matter now that she had fully lost her appetite and Mika was just telling off some other girl that had walked up to the table.
She gave an exasperated sigh, hoping they would pay her some attention. This was not cool and she didn't plan to lose any more house points simply because some girl couldn't keep her wand to herself.
She grabbed the paper and pencil again and began scribbling furiously--because she refused to talk even though the charm was lifted.
What did you do that for?? Are you trying to get me in trouble?! Now put the charm back on before I have to go over to the Professor! hopefully all her anger was conveyed in the note because she wasn't going to say a word. It didn't even matter to her that all the nice food had appeared because this whole situation was making her sick.

Lex looked down at the paper that Cassia had pushed towards her. She gave the girl a weak smile. Finally, someone that wasn't trying to make her lose any more house points! Why couldn't they all just be nicer, jeez! She took the paper and scribbled a nice thank you. being nice was definitely something that Lex appreciated.
Then she had an idea so she got scribbling again. Do you know how to put on a silencing charm? She might as well had asked since that Mika girl was more than likely not going to put it back. The girl seemed bent on getting in trouble but Lex was most definitely not up for it because it would hurt her house as well. She looked over at cassia with hopeful eyes, praying that she wouldn't tell her that she didn't because she was sure that the Professor would have been able to tell that she wasn't under the charm and after seeing the way he dealt with the nice older girl when he accused her of lying she didn't want him to see her as a liar too.
Then she turned to the food for a minute and scowled. She had been waiting a long time for this but now her appetite was ruined. She sighed and looked back at cassia hoping she had a solution.

What? A silencing spell? Man, this worked wonderfully for Serenity! Theo didn't have to listen to her whiny voice anymore! And eh, he could cope, too. Talking wasn't that great, though it was a very weird feeling. He also loved that the Gryffindor was in charge of them staying silent.
Brilliant. Professor Scabior = scary but awesome.
When everyone shouted at Mika for almost reversing the spell, Theo sniggered. Go ahead and do it! Slytherin wouldn't lose anything, sooooo... But in other news, Theo was very interested in Mika's chocolate that she offered, so he nodded vigorously at her.
Unless they were poisoned... which he wouldn't doubt coming from Mika.
He smiled back at Cassia, then started to doodle on his piece of paper. He drew a sad face and wrote 'I'm bored....' next to it. Though, the house elves were kind of interesting, yet very creepy.
He actually did listen to the rest of the speech, and he wanted to snort loudly when she mentioned safety. Oh, take one look at his scuffed knees and he would tell you otherwise! No matter! FOOD HAD FINALLY ARRIVED. Theo bounced on his chair, and was very pleased that the food opportunity hadn't been taken from them, too. Otherwise he would be upset.

He hadn't worried like that about anyone else before and that seriously confused him, sooner or later he was going to figure it out but it hadn't been entirely important right now since he wouldn't have been able to think clearly when the Great Hall was too loud for him to actually focus on anything but possibly the speech from the new Headmistress. Maybe I'll need to take some time in the next few weeks and just figure it out on my own time because evidently it's not going to happen here when everyone is talking and I'll be expected to have some form of conversation even if I don't entirely want to. His thoughts were making him wonder about actually opening up to people since earlier he had wanted to actually talk to more people but now it seemed as though shutting down again was more of a likely option.
Once he took a seat with the other Slytherins, the notice of someone in Ravenclaw robes peering around the table for some reason had caught his attention since he had only known of two people that had reason to be around the snake table. As they got closer, he couldn't help but grin since the sight of the pink streaks made him figure out exactly who it was that had been wandering around the table. "I presume you're looking for me, unless you want to talk to another Slytherin." he said, then chuckled slightly as he had seen the bag of chocolate that was in her hand; that looked oddly familiar like the one that he hid away in his trunk for emergency situations when he was running low on chocolate.
Almost about to turn around and head back to her own table, or more accurately head there for the first time this term, Kendall had half-turned before she finally saw the person she'd been looking for. And he was even grinning, which was totally welcome after his weirdness during the carriage ride. It was normal, not him being all worried that she'd gotten massively injured just by falling off her seat and onto Mika's legs, and she turned back to head for the seat next to his, which surprisingly seemed to be open. Even if it hadn't been, she would have squeezed in. She didn't take up that much space, and nobody seemed to be concerned with her having been there in the first place. She had business to take care of. Important chocolate transactions, but first there was dealing with Patrick's comment. "If any of the other Slytherins want to talk to me," she replied with a grin, dropping the bag in her hand onto the table. She had no issues talking to people, but so far they all seemed occupied with greeting friends and such so she'd focus on her own friend. "You probably want this back," she added, shoving the bag over to him before she was tempted to take another bar from it. "And you still haven't given me my chocolate back after the station." There might have been all that distraction of trains breaking down, portkeys and the current rainstorm that the hall wasn't letting them forget, but he'd promised.
Now that she'd had her say, she started fidgeting with a lock of her hair, corkscrewing it around her finger and peering through the strands at the rest of the table. Only to realize, as everyone had turned toward the staff table, that the new headmistress with the pretty hair had started speaking. Introducing the board of governors who were up there, and then talking about making changes. They better not be icky changes. Or more rules, she thought, even as she watched the house elves who had walked past the table with the awesome pink plant get spoken to up at the staff table as well. House elves were awesome too, especially if they had a pink plant. And maybe that meant the new headmistress liked pink too, which was also awesome. Way more awesome than Professor Scabior having silenced those younger students and then threatened massive points loss, although at least the HoM professor hadn't ordered her and the other non-snakes back to their tables. As she then saw Mika decide to head over, and her idle playing with her hair was abandoned as her hazel eyes went from the blonde second year to Patrick. Time to distract him, especially since it didn't look like they'd been noticed. Time to get her chocolate before he had to hide again. "D'you think the headmistress is going to make evil changes, or d'you think the board of governors people are her to make evil changes?," she asked him. "D'you think Roro is why they're here?" She really hoped the baby dragon last term wasn't why so many things had already changed at Hogwarts.

West observed the girls, and their arguing. And Mika attempting to make that Gryffindor speak (she was kinda well trained, right? It was good that she loved Slytherins so much). He also observed that chocolate and woulda grabbed some if the headmistress didn't finish her speech. That plant was kinda cool too, right? West was curious about THAT. He would have said hi to that Bloody Baron but no speaking and all. So, he just sort of waved politely.

Cassia returned Alexa's smile with a bigger one though it seemed that that wasn't enough to raise the girl's spirit and Cassia actually expected that. Like a smiley face would make it easier! But she there was nothing she could do either then this. Oh and Alexa was scribbling something down. Cassia waited till she was finished then she peered at it.
Mmm..no she surely didn't not! Cassia looked at Alexa's hopeful eyes and hated to disappoint the girl. But what other choice did she have?! Lie to her and tell her yes! Nope that Cassia wouldn't do. Alexa would find out then that Cassia had lied. And Snakes don't lie they are brave enough to admit what they don't know. She shook her head at Alexa and gave her an apologetic look. Then stupidly Cassia took the pencil and scribbled down, Why do you wanna know? then she remembered that she wasn't punished so she could speak. Oh that was just so stupid of her forgetting! Erm..but you know it could be looked at as an act of solidarity! Yeah ,yah that was noble and Slytherin were just about nobility. Especially that three of the punished were Snakes.
She took the pencil again and wrote, Just let it go and eat! She tried a bright smile. The headmistress had finished the speech and now the food was served. Cassia pointed at the pumpkin juice and nodded her head approvingly as in this delicious try it! Cassia herself took a sip of two. But after being like her appetite was gone. And it was sooo calm at there table! Not that there weren't any students speaking but it was calmer than earlier! It was creepy and depressing, Cassia felt. She noticed that she had been enjoying the noise that was caused by the fight. Not the fight…just the loud voices. Better than this bleak silence .
Cassia sighed looking around her trying to think of a way to brighten the mood but nothing came across her mind actually. Besides, the girls and the boys didn't reach the peacemaking level so the fight seemed to seem still on but silently .

Hmmm..
Cassia leaned back on her seat bored just staring at the plant at the professors platform. Well, there wasn't really anything else to do. Oh and the Bloody baron was here too. Cassia wanted to say hi but she hated speaking when others couldn't so she just dropped it though it wasn't easy for her.

Maybe Erin could be right. Maybe the new Headmistress is fishy. But they can't be right. They just got to know her name just this term and they can't judge her that fast. Probably she's just strict in a way. But who knows, right? "That could happen. But we can't judge her immediately anyway..."
Kat and theories. She's only got one. "Probably dementors or something, I don't know. I mean... it's the first time, I think, the Train came to a fast halt. That never happened during Headmaster Tate's term, right?"

When Kat told her about her vacation in France the girl's smile wavered a bit at the thought of her last visit to her then still sick cousin, and the nasty scar that she got from muggle dueling with the fat boy that lived next door to her "Ohh, France!" Believe me, Cass, but even with seven years of staying in this school can't change the fact how hard these benches are, Kat thought. Snakes and their thoughts, as always.
When the blonde fourth year said 'France' it put a huge smile on the seventh year's face. What's so exciting about France? Ha ha. Food and the Eiffel Tower. "We stayed at Paris with my uncle, aunt, and cousins," Kat replied. "You've been there?"
Obviously.

She scribbled out, Sorry Lex! I didn't want you to get in trouble and none of this was your fault..
Serenity didn't exactly have high moral values, but she definately felt guilty for getting Lex in trouble, she'd even lost points. And now what? Somone offered them cookies or whatever and then someone tried to reverse the charm on Lex and everyone was talking and stuff. It was suddenlyy so busy!

"I know!" The blonde whined "I had to ride with a bunch of second year 'puffs!" Not that she was housecist or anything of that sort - if that was even a word. But seriously, second year Hufflepuffs - they could be sort of annoying, and the way they stuck to one side of the carriage was mildly insulting. It wasn't as if she was going to bite them or anything "Do you have any idea how excruciatingly long that trip was without you?!"
"Like the year before last, and the year before that too." Cass said with a laugh as she shook her head in amusement "I think the only time I've ever seen you in your robes during the feast was way back in First year!" She exclaimed with another laugh.
Fee couldnt help but laugh a bit. A ride with Hufflepuffs wouldnt have been so bad for her but if Cass wasnt in the mood. Oh jesus.Especially younger puffs."You poor thing", the blonde chuckled," i bet they were just soooo bubbly and you were like please calm down youuuu."The image in Fee's head was the funniest ever. Her poor bestie. That train and carriage ride was from hell, no lie." Second year puffs for Mrs. Prewett", the girl chuckled,"at least you're gonna appreciate my presence more now." The Slytherin was just kidding after all she had to survive this horrible carriage ride too. Only people she didnt know had been in with her.How boring.
The seventh year couldnt help but laugh a bit.Why not make the feast a bit sparkly."You know because i can", she giggled. No one ever complained and it didnt hurt anyone bringing some fashion sense to this.Looking down at her sparkly top the girl shook her head laughing." You know in first year we were so innocent", she said," look at us now. All grown up." Fascinating what thy had been through together. Her memories with Cass definitely were the best.

Maybe she was making sure that everyone had, in fact, made it off the train?
"Nice to meet you too, Feenella," she replied, smiling fully now. Oh, so they were the same year then. "How do you feel about this being the final year?"
------------------
During the new Headmistress's speech (oh, so that's why the woman had been yelling up the train for them to sit!), Emmanuelle heard a commotion coming from down the table. Seemed that one of the first years was yelling at two of the second years. Which had attracted the attention of Professor Scabior. Oi. Not a good first impression to make on the Headmistress. She just shook her head. Youngsters.
And what was with the house- elves? And their plants?
The only thing everyone could hope for was that this year wouldnt stay this weird and adventurous. If you could call it that. Some special memories to her last year wouldnt hurt but they should be good ones. So much was going on already and the school year didnt even start.
"Its weird how we have never met", the blonde smiled,"being in the same year, th same house and the same dorm."Only showed how big Higwarts really was. Mhhh... how did she feel about being in her final year? That was a really good question." I am not sure to be honest", the blonde sighed," i am excited to finish like to start a new life but i am gonna miss all of this really really much." Her friends, the adventures, reading at the library, the lake, her dorm, the common room. Everything. "What about you?"
Noticing how Emmanuelle was looking around Fee payed some attention to her surroundings as well. What was going on? Firsite yelling at at second years? What even? Not the best start for this firstie. Shaking her head she chuckled, oh you had to learn little one. But what was going on with the elves?!

Yeah. No more girls ever.

He'd never seen a ghost before, even during his first year. NOT COOL..
He wouldn't say anything, because he couldn't, but also cos he was kinda petrified. Back to tic tac toe, he crossed his O off in the bottom right corner. It was kinda boring, but food helped. He pointed hard along the table, and then got frustrated with everything.

Lex was grateful when Cassia tried giving her a bigger smile and sure if she was feeling like her normal she would have tried matching that smile then ending up giggling because of how silly she was being for wanting to match a but that fact was that she might have been the only one in Gryffindor to make her house lose points on the very first night. That had to be a new record seeing as it was lost before the feast was even finished.
Her eyes darted to the paper hoping she would see the answer she wanted but scowled when she didn't. It was to be expected to though because after all Cassia had told her that she wasn't very good with spells and those things. So now she would have to try finding someone that could because now that the speech was over and the feast had started it wouldn't have been long before they were to report to Professor Scabior to have it taken off. Would he even notice though? That was a chance she wasn't willing to take.
She looked to the paper again when Cassia scribbled a bit more. This time it was for her to eat. Lex watched the girl take a sip of what looked like pumkin juice then she got the paper and scribbled: I'm not all that hungry... but only because she wasn't. She was much too worried about how she would get the silencing charm back on! Maybe she could ask an older kid...but then wouldn't Scabior notice her talking to someone then them waving a wand--no he wouldn't because he didn't see when that girl took it off!!
___
She glanced over at the boys and Serenity; they wouldn't have been able to do anything either she supposed. It made no sense asking because they wanted her to lose points--more points so they probably would have helped even if they knew how to.
With a sigh she looked down at the paper Serenity had scribbled on. Lex gave her a reassuring smile before scribbling--because even though she wasn't under the spell she refused to talk in case she made things worse for herself.
It's fine, don't worry about it. I don't mind really.
She didn't, but she didn't like losing points either.
Her eyes caught the paper the boys were using...they were now playing tic tac toe; merlin they really must have been bored! This time she didn't even shake her head at them. She was done bickering with them, they were a different kind of trouble from the kind she was use to. Her kind of trouble never got her in trouble...sure it often got her hurt--but never in trouble...not that often anyway and not that severely.
Looking over at the ghost she didn't bother to do much but wave. She had seen the other ghosts already and was over the initial shock. Now she just wanted to stay away from losing anymore points!

Apparently his reaction to seeing her again had been taken much better than the one at the carriage had, though Patrick wasn't looking to just deal with that right now considering it only was going to make things much more difficult then they had to be. He knew that those thoughts were going to be addressed later since he didn't entirely enjoy the fact that there was confusing thoughts wandering around his head that he hadn't known how to explain immediately but he quickly shook all of this off as soon as it had come; there wouldn't have been conversations otherwise. Once Kendall had sat down beside him and set the bag of chocolate on the table, he eyed it suspiciously since he knew that he'd seen it before and when she spoke; it confirmed that it did in fact belong to him and that she decided to take it from his trunk. "I'm not sure they would, not everyone is as friendly as I am around here." he said before pausing slightly to think about what else to say, it seemed as though just being able to speak anymore without thinking about exactly what it was that he wanted to say wasn't possible and that had just made things much more frustrating. "How did you get this from my trunk? I had it put away so that the only one that could have found it is me." Raising an eyebrow at his friend, somehow she managed to sneak the chocolate that was meant to be used for an emergency situation but at least she had given it back since he had wanted a couple of the bars for later. "And I will right now, plus the owl is still coming." He handed her the boxes of chocolate that had been sitting on the bench on the other side of him since there wasn't a need to bring his entire messenger bag to the feast, instead he hid that away in his trunk so it was safe for now.
Before he had the chance to continue speaking, the notice of the headmistress speaking had caught his attention and he stayed quiet for the moment as the woman spoke; wait.. board of governors? What in Merlin's name were they doing here? Hogwarts certainly didn't need people disrupting what had gone on usually. At least he didn't seem to be worried about them, not as much as when Professor Scabior approached the table and gone onto make several students silent as well as take five points away from Gryffindor. It hadn't seemed like Slytherin had lost anything yet and he wanted to make sure things stayed that way, even if it meant abandoning some ideas for trouble which wasn't going to be fun. As soon as the speech had been over, he turned his attention back to his friend and it seemed like there was something up as the strange feeling had returned as it had on the train. That had to mean that Mika was around and he hadn't wanted to deal with another situation with the second year Ravenclaw. "One question at a time, okay.. I don't think that the Headmistress will make evil changes but I'm quite wary of the board of governors; their reasoning to be here still confuses me and I do believe they'll try to convince the new Headmistress to make changes that could possibly create frustration for not only the current staff of the school but all of us students." he replied, having to take a breath after he spoke since that was a lot to say at once and it oddly had been much more intelligent than he had intended it to sound. "It's a possibility. Having a baby dragon at Hogwarts can be considered rather dangerous to everyone." Honestly, he hadn't wanted that to be the case when it just meant that this term could have brought bad things.
"whoa there little rattlesnake calm down." she said taking her wand out of her hand.. "we dont threathen people here with limbs or eyeballs, slytherin or not. Now go sit." ooc: feel free to sit near by and keep at it. Ariana's just a control freak when it comes to her snakes Isabel felt as her wand was taken out of her hands.she looked at the girl who had taken it and sat reluctantly Isabel glared up at the girl did she just try to distract her with food?!?!?!?

Then she watch Ganymede climb from under the table. She was wondering how long she had planned to stay down there but it obviously wasn't for that long.
Her stomach wrenched when she saw her sit at the table about to consume some buttered bread. Reaching for the paper she scribbled a bit.
How can you eat at a time like this?!
It was a warranted question seeing as Lex felt absolutely sick...though it might have had something to do with all she candy she ate right before toppling over in the train then using a portkey....

Taking a deep breath, she thought about it. She had been in deep trouble so many times as a kid. Once, she built a tent on the roof of the house and no one knew where she was for an entire day, another time she put mice in her Mothers coat pockets, then there was the time when she placed a few firecrackers under her Father's chair when he nodded off after lunch. Maybe you could go into cahoots with them and get a good story going just in case. There's that baby house elf, could you blame everything on it? It seems to always be making mistakes and then no one will get house points off if that stinky little elf did the crime."
Ganymede nodded, "What's the worst that can happen? You have to know how to manipulate the situation for your own good."
