He hadn't worried like that about anyone else before and that seriously confused him, sooner or later he was going to figure it out but it hadn't been entirely important right now since he wouldn't have been able to think clearly when the Great Hall was too loud for him to actually focus on anything but possibly the speech from the new Headmistress. Maybe I'll need to take some time in the next few weeks and just figure it out on my own time because evidently it's not going to happen here when everyone is talking and I'll be expected to have some form of conversation even if I don't entirely want to. His thoughts were making him wonder about actually opening up to people since earlier he had wanted to actually talk to more people but now it seemed as though shutting down again was more of a likely option.

Once he took a seat with the other Slytherins, the notice of someone in Ravenclaw robes peering around the table for some reason had caught his attention since he had only known of two people that had reason to be around the snake table. As they got closer, he couldn't help but grin since the sight of the pink streaks made him figure out exactly who it was that had been wandering around the table. "I presume you're looking for me, unless you want to talk to another Slytherin." he said, then chuckled slightly as he had seen the bag of chocolate that was in her hand; that looked oddly familiar like the one that he hid away in his trunk for emergency situations when he was running low on chocolate.
Almost about to turn around and head back to her own table, or more accurately head there for the first time this term, Kendall had half-turned before she finally saw the person she'd been looking for. And he was even grinning, which was totally welcome after his weirdness during the carriage ride. It was normal, not him being all worried that she'd gotten massively injured just by falling off her seat and onto Mika's legs, and she turned back to head for the seat next to his, which surprisingly seemed to be open. Even if it hadn't been, she would have squeezed in. She didn't take up that much space, and nobody seemed to be concerned with her having been there in the first place. She had business to take care of. Important chocolate transactions, but first there was dealing with Patrick's comment. "If any of the other Slytherins want to talk to me," she replied with a grin, dropping the bag in her hand onto the table. She had no issues talking to people, but so far they all seemed occupied with greeting friends and such so she'd focus on her own friend. "You probably want this back," she added, shoving the bag over to him before she was tempted to take another bar from it. "And you still haven't given me my chocolate back after the station." There might have been all that distraction of trains breaking down, portkeys and the current rainstorm that the hall wasn't letting them forget, but he'd promised.

Now that she'd had her say, she started fidgeting with a lock of her hair, corkscrewing it around her finger and peering through the strands at the rest of the table. Only to realize, as everyone had turned toward the staff table, that the new headmistress with the pretty hair had started speaking. Introducing the board of governors who were up there, and then talking about making changes. They better not be icky changes. Or more rules, she thought, even as she watched the house elves who had walked past the table with the awesome pink plant get spoken to up at the staff table as well. House elves were awesome too, especially if they had a pink plant. And maybe that meant the new headmistress liked pink too, which was also awesome. Way more awesome than Professor Scabior having silenced those younger students and then threatened massive points loss, although at least the HoM professor hadn't ordered her and the other non-snakes back to their tables. As she then saw Mika decide to head over, and her idle playing with her hair was abandoned as her hazel eyes went from the blonde second year to Patrick. Time to distract him, especially since it didn't look like they'd been noticed. Time to get her chocolate before he had to hide again. "D'you think the headmistress is going to make evil changes, or d'you think the board of governors people are her to make evil changes?," she asked him. "D'you think Roro is why they're here?" She really hoped the baby dragon last term wasn't why so many things had already changed at Hogwarts.
