Vindictus. The super awesome old Vindictus. She still couldn't believe he'd come to teach kids to fly and be an official in Hogwarts. Really. Though, she supposed there was no better teacher. At Keefer's question, her smile was diminished a little and her head went to rest on his shoulder. "I honestly don't know. I'm afraid I know as much as you do," especially since she went towards West instead of the Quidditch legend. Not to mention they were asked to leave the Pitch. "I was congratulating the Slytherin Captain when he fell," but he was seriously old, it was probably something to do with old age.

I see them differently... what does that even mean? And more importantly, was that a good thing or a bad thing? He didn't seem to understand the meaning behind half of what she said. Or perhaps he was just over-analyzing it all. Maybe she just means I'm looking at how everyone plays, while the rest of them just.. play. Yeah, that must be it. Hers had been a statement of fact, and that was it.

Good. "I thought so. No one likes to not be good, after all." Wow. What a dumb thing to say, Keef! Stop sabotaging yourself by being an idiot! He mentally told himself to relax and focused back on his task. His hand gripped a crumpled letter in his pocket. He opened his mouth to change the topic, but was completely distracted by her next action. His shoulders tensed and he sharply drew in a breath. His head twisted sideways to stare at his shoulder, but he couldn't see it through the mass of wavy gold that was blocking his view. The sight both paralyzed him and emboldened him.

He ignored what she had to say about Vindictus and Kimalia. It was now or never. Treyen had said to just go for it. Just be as straightforward as possible, he quoted to himself. He had read over Treyen's advice enough times to have it mostly memorized. Right, just do it.

"Kate, I like you. Will you go out with me sometime? On a date."

Short and simple, brief and to-the-point.

...and now an agonizing wait for an answer.

Alyssa was sitting and reading her book by the fireplace, when she noticed from the corner of her eye, someone coming through the doors. She recognized him from his brief time here in Hogwarts when she first joined two terms ago. She had heard others talk about him. He was a 6th year but that he had transferred to Beauxbaton.

She frowned and wondered what he was doing here now, in the middle of school term. Finbar Murphy that was his name. Then Alyssa remembered that embarrassing incident where she had unknowingly asked him to go out on date with her and he had turned her down.

Now he was here. She hoped that he had forgotten all about that incident. She forced a smile on her face, stood up from her chair and said,"Hi. You're Fin right? Welcome back to Hogwarts. I'm Alyssa but most people call me Lyssie.

OHMMMGEEE! No way! Finbar took in a deep breathe to see if it still smelled like it had in his third year. He scrunched his nose. It kind of smelt the same but with a little hint of sweaty little first years.

Fin looked at the younger person that he had met on twitter. She wasn’t that much shorter than him for being what fourteen she was. Ahhhh-lisssss-ssssaaaaa he said in his head. He didn’t know why but he really loves to sound out peoples names in his head. Oh what a weird sixth year Hogwarts has been given.

“Alyssa? Lyssie? Lyss?” Fin said in different high and low tones in his Irish accent. “Well top of the mornin’ to ya…or is it afternoon. I should really invest in buying a watch.” He chuckled.

Alyssa couldn't help but laugh when Fin started naming variations of her name in different tones. She just loved that Irish accent of his. Of all the accents in the world, Alyssa had always like the Irish and Scottish ones the best.

"Uh it's afternoon,"Alyssa pointed to the clock behind him, grinning. "Well if you intend on attending classes, you might want to invest in one or you can rely on the other students who are running late for class."

"So what brings you back to Hogwarts? The last time I chatted with you...um...I mean the one before that, you mentioned that you were in Beauxbaton. Did you get bored there?"

"Oh by the way, if I had known you were coming, I would have made a pumpkin pie for you." Alyssa grinned remembering the last time, they tried making one. It ended up with her poking him in the eye with a spoon and covering him with bits of pumpkin.

Fin gave Lyssie a cheesy smile that he used when he was trying to be cool but totally failed at being cool. Fin gave up on his cheesy smile and just looked at her.

Afternoon? “How is it that late already?” he asked her. Dumb question Fin! He told himself and mentally smacked himself in the head. “I should ask my mum or little brother to buy me one and then ask them to send it to me.” He nodded. Right. Note to self; ask mum or Percy to get me a watch. Percy would forget and mum would get caught up in work. But what’s wrong with being a little late sometimes? You have got to live on the wild side every so often so people don’t think you’re a teachers pet or a goody, goody.

“Well I missed Hogwarts and I promised some of my friends that I would be back for my last term…..BUT…..I decided to come oh…about nine months earlier.” He smiled, his crooked smile. He shook his head. “One Beauxbations is boring, two they don’t like to have fun and lastly three they kicked me out for pulling a harmless prank and then I got beat up then kicked out and then my mum home schooled me.”

Mhm….she was speaking his language…the language of FOOD….yes the tasty yummy stuff that people grow, cook and/or bake, oh yes that delightful stuff that keep us all alive. “You should have gotten me food!” he playfully demanded. “Oooooh.” His eyes grew big and he put his hands on his muscular stomach and rubbed it. “All this food talk is making me HUNGERY! Food. I need food.” He said pointing to his mouth.

Alyssa listened as Fin explained why he was back in Hogwarts. "O_o you got beat up. Wow! now that wasn't nice. Well anyway it's good to have you back here, even though I didn't get to really meet you before you left."

Then she laughed when he suddenly perked up when she reminded him about the pumpkin pie they had tried to make together. He wanted food! He was hungry. "Oh you're hungry? I'll go get you some, right away." Alyssa quickly rushed off to the kitchen to get him some.

"He loves pumpkin pie, I'll get him plenty of that and maybe some Irish stew...and what else?" Alyssa mumbled to herself as she rushed to the kitchen to grab what she thought Fin would like. "The best way to a guy's heart is through his stomach...that's what people say." Alyssa kept talking to herself as she carried the food back into the Common Room.

Then she stopped. 'Wait a minute, Alyssa what the heck are you doing? You're not a house elf. Just because you have a crush on the guy doesn't mean that you're going to do everything for him, just so he will notice you.'Alyssa thought to herself. John had told her, don't do the chasing. If the guy liked her, he should do it. 'Okay John you'd better be right here.'Alyssa told herself.

So Alyssa calmly walked up to Fin. "So you're really hungry. Well here I got some food for you. I brought some scones, some Irish Stew, a big whole pumpkin pie just for you and even a little slice with whipped cream on it. All just for you. Here why don't you try this slice of pie first." Alyssa said sweetly offering it to Fin, carefully bringing the slice of pie up to his mouth, before shoving it into his mouth.

"Next time get your own food." Alyssa told him before she turned from him and sat back on the sofa. She was angry at herself for doing what she just did, but she still felt the sting of rejection when she had asked him to go out with her on Christmas Day and he had said no.

Minerva skipped down to the common room feeling so much better finally. She missed many classes, which she hated, but she hoped one of her friends at least took good notes for her and had the homework. With bouncers on her shoulder she found a chair to sit in. Kicking her legs over the chair arm she got comfy and hoped someone would be around to chat since she hadn't done much talking the last week.

Damon looked up from his book, still on medical rest... Father's orders, when he saw Min, he smiled over at her, finding it humorous she didn't even notice her old gothic friend sitting there, then again, maybe she'd forgotten about dear old Ash who'd, without meaning to, hurt her so badly all the way back in October, "Hey Min... Long time, no see... Quite literally." He chuckled looking at her.

Minerva had heard her name and looked over, she had to take a double take. She couldn't help but frown, not at seeing the boy who hurt her in September, but seeing those amazing green eyes brown again. "Damon yes it has been awhile since I've seen you. Sorry about that. I was in New York right after Christmas and got the bloody flu a day before coming back here. I have been stuck in my bed for over a week now. It was horrible and poor bouncers here has been doing nuts wanting to stretch." she pet her little puff and set him on the floor so he could run. "What has been going on with you, I notice your back to your old look."

"Me? Nothing much... A bit a downer ending to the break truly... Let's just say Taylor and I's camping trip didn't go as planned. First off Lori and Max joined us... Make a long story short, they ended up showing up and taking all of us..." He sighed, "And now on my father's demand I am to stay put until I gain my strength back from that idiotic sword spell." He shook his head, "So besides the flu... How've you been?"

Minerva's look turned to concern and she went closer to him, "Damon are you sure your okay? Can I get you anything? Puck is right to keep you off your feet." She frowned at her friend, "Well you and Taylor will have plenty of time for camping once all of this danger goes away." She then thought about his next question, "Well not that I don't feel like I'm dying and once I get caught up in all the classes I have missed, I think I'm doing well." she smirked a bit trying to joke. "I had a wonderful time in New York and now that I'm feeling better it's nice just to be back in this room near people."

He nodded, "I'm fine, just took a deadly spell to the stomach and I'm living to tell the tale." He chuckled, trying to prove he was perfectly fine, "I'm just still a little weak and get a tiny pain here and there. But the people aren't a problem anymore... Turns out the man who saved me all those years ago and has been after me ever since... Is Taylor's grandfather. My step-grandfather, Chelle and Elizabeth's Dad! And he still wanted revenge even after finding out I was related to him... Loving family member, don't you think?" He smiled, "Classes shouldn't be to difficult to catch up with, and I know you loved the city when we went over the summer, I'm glad to know you had fun again."

Minerva looked him over still making sure he was fine, but he was proving he was. When he said who the man was Minerva's frown deepened. "Yeah nice guy. Sure he isn't related to some of my family members." a smile crossed her lips with her small joke. Then she bit her lip thinking about whether or not to ask him the next question. Was it really any of her business, yes it was he was her close friend and she had to right to know the answer. "Damon" her eyes went to the floor nervous for the question, she knew it was going to come out wrong. The guy she was looking at was September Damon and honestly she still wasn't thrilled with this one. "Damon, why did you go back to this look? Why are you covering those green eyes with contacts again?" she blushed at that question. She wasn't into Damon anymore she had been over him for awhile, but it still didn't mean she didn't like seeing his green eyes.

He chuckled, "Who knows... If you have an Anton Davis somewhere in your family tree." With her next question he looked at her puzzled, "I just felt it was time to change again, not to mention when I walk past the willow it doesn't try to attack me anymore because I look nothing like Dad again..." He smirked, then the puzzled look came back again, had she not looked at his eyes and just assumed? Or was she just not paying attention? "My eyes are still green Min." He looked at her.

Minerva laughed a bit, "Well I haven't heard of any Davis, but that's not saying anything. I didn't know about any of the Blazes either until only a few years ago. So who knows." She smiled a bit, "Oh that willow isn't that bad." she knew it was and she knew he was aware of her little game and run in she had with that same tree. She looked up into his eyes and couldn't help but smile and then blush a bit. "Yes I guess they are, I just assumed when I saw you." she felt embarrassed now that she hadn't made eye contact in fear of seeing those brown eyes. "Well it's good to change every once in awhile, but I think I might miss the red hair boy a bit, but I guess goth Damon isn't so bad. Anyway, how is Taylor? She didn't get hurt did she? The drama that follows you two is unbelievable at times." she gave a little smirk. "You know you still have that mirror if you ever need anything."

He smirked, "It may not be bad, but I've gotten enough scars to last me a lifetime." He sighed, "But Taylor's fine, Anton gave strict instructions to not harm the purebloods... So only two of us were roughed up, and them Lori still got away without a horrible injury. And I know we do... Most of it's my fault." Damon looked at her, "I know I do... It's still tucked away in my suitcase upstairs still, I still haven't unpacked."

Minerva sat back in the chair across from him and smiled, "Well I'm glad that everyone is okay. Is there anything you need?" She always wanted to help her friends. "Well anytime you ever need that mirror use it. The other is always in my bag and you know that bag is never far from me." she smirked knowing her bag was a crutch to her. "I hope someone put that man in his place at least." she said very bitterly towards Taylor's grandfather. She played with a strand of her brown hair that had fallen to her face.

He shook his head, "Dad has given me all the strength and pain potion I need. But Jack found the perfect punishment for him." He chuckled, "Broke his wand and turned him into a turtle so he has to watch us all be happy. I don't even know where to begin on everything he's done..."

Minerva smiled when Jack's name was brought up, "You know Damon you are very lucky to have such a great family even if most of them are not blood. All of you, including you made Christmas not a horrible as I expected. You all welcomed me so nicely it was more then I could have ever imagined. I was so nervous going to Taylor's party, but it didn't matter even the adults acted as if I should have been there." she looked away from him a bit, "I didn't want to even do Christmas this year with out my parents, but you guys made it a happy time, so thank you." she looked back into his green eyes and smiled.

"That's because your pratically family too Min. Dad loved you the moment he laid eyes on you, that's why he did push the matter of you and I dating instead." He shook his head, remembering how happy Robin had been when he'd told him that Min and he were together, "You're one of the friendliest people we know, so of course we welcome you." He smiled at her, "And yes, I know I'm extremely lucky to have them... All except Rowan... and the new children, besides Alice, coming into the picture." Damon sighed, Rowan and Millie were having one, and Siobian and Matt were... So time to add even more people to the already large family.

Minerva smiled, "Well I'm glad they like me, because I love all of them. Well your right except Rowan. I think he still hates me for the argument we had at Ari's birthday party. You know Millie froze me and kicked me out of the house for it." she laughed a bit remembering it. "I stayed away from him at Christmas it was easier that way." She smiled sweetly at Damon, "I am lucky to have found such great friends with such a great family. It will be fun to have Alice around. She will be super cute, I love babies." What teenage girl didn't love babies though.

"Rowan doesn't like anyone Minerva." He chuckled, "What was the argument about exactly? If you don't mind me asking... And Millie? Really... Never saw her as the kind to do that, maybe there is a reason her and Ro got married." Damon looked up at her, "I'm lucky I found such a great friend actually in my house... Now if there was someone my age..." He laughed, "And I don't have a problem with Alice... It's the other two that'll be coming around shortly after her again... Or have you not heard that news? You were in New York when we all got the news... Wonder if Maxwell knows then also." He sighed, "Because Alice isn't going to be the only new baby in the family."

Minerva blushed about three shades of red when Damon asked about the argument. She looked away not to make eye contact and moved uncomfortable in her chair. "Well it was actually about you. I made a comment about you and Taylor and how you two should just date already and he became the over protective brother and started defending you and you know my temper." she looked at him with apologizing eyes, "I'm sorry I talked about you. It was just so obvious you two were meant to be together and seeing you kiss and dance, it just made me want to push you two into each other and make you say you were dating." if possible her face went even more red. "I'm sorry, and yes Millie got mad that I was talking to Rowan the way that I was and got upset. I kicked the fire place, which you know I'm good at that as well and she froze me." She then looked at him, "More babies? Who else is having a baby?"

He bit back a laughed, "Rowan... stood up for me?" He didn't know whether to be shocked or to let the laugh out because of how crazy it sounded, "We are talking about the Rowan that's the reason I broke my leg over the summer aren't we?" He sighed, "And we were arguing at that point in time. So I can't be that mad that you'd comment on it." He looked at her, "Well... Rowan and Millie are about two months into one now... and the other, I don't know if you remember her, but Chelle's ex-husbands daughter, who Chelle's adopted as her own, Siobian. You only met her once and that was my birthday party... Long blonde hair, brown eyes... Royal brat..."

Minerva smiled, "Yes he stood up for you. He was a real great brother to be honest. I know we weren't even speaking at the point and I think that pushed me further into being a git. But I am sorry for my words." She thought about if she remembered, but another thought crossed her mind, "How did Ari take the news? Geeze go out of the country and then get sick and you miss so much. Well I'm happy for both of them, and I'm sorry but I don't remember her, but if she is part of your family I bet she is great."
