That's the sound his badger feet made against the hard, stone floor. The sounds stopped right before a badger head could be seen popping out to gaze at the corridor. It looked towards the left and then the right before continuing its journey towards a spot near the library. The banners should get attention, yes, but he didn't want to be spotted putting up the banners. That wasn't allowed.
He was pretty glad that no one knew that it was him beneath the costume. He wasn't going to let anyone find out that he, Alec Summers, usually roamed around in badger costumes. But then again, this was for the homework assignment. And because, as Lyss said, he had to go all out for this, didn't he? Make their cause known and everything. Yeah.
Alec stopped once he reached an empty spot along the corridor wall. He took out his sellotape and started ripping off some bits. before sticking them along the edges of the banner. There. That should do it. Even if, as he looked closely at the sellotape, there seemed to be some bits of fur stuck on the wall along with the banner and the sellotape. Meh.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

"I guess it does, probably because we're stuck in a castle with a thousand other teenagers." With hormones. Teenagers with hormones were dangerous. And yeah, things did tend to seem more dramatic when they were happening to you. "That's definitely true," he agreed with a small nod.
Hm. That was where Milton and Adam were different. Adam said he didn't have time to get settled or develop friendships. Milton usually didn't take long to make friends. Well... No. The term "friend" generally involved some sort of trust. And Milton didn't trust anyone, so technically he didn't have friends. In that sense. But he had lots of... buddies. Or... people he didn't hate. "I see..." he said, nodding slowly. Then he shrugged. Milton didn't have a problem with letting go of people. It was life, life moves on. And at one point you had to move on too, so why not immediately?
Milton returned the smirk. "I think we all have exceptions to which house we were placed in." Several people had told Milton that he seemed more like Slytherin material. Which he didn't mind. At the mention of OWLs, Milton sighed and leaned his shoulder against the wall. "Yes, unfortunately." He wasn't one for big tests. Then again, who was? "I've heard they're not that bad, but still... I don't want to completely bomb them." His brain wouldn't let him fail. It kinda sucked when he wanted to be lazy.
Adam chuckled. "Yeah, I think that's definitely a major factor. All these teenagers in one building trying to figure out who they are and what they want can definitely lead to some sticky situations." And when you threw in things like love interests and all that jazz...well...cue your next daytime soap opera. Adam leaned back so that his back was flat against the wall, eyeing some of the passerbys thoughtlessly as they went. Even though he was gazing at them without too much thought Adam noticed that Milton was really eyeing them, somewhat mistrustfully if he didn't know any better. Hmm...
"Although I will say life seems a lot simpler and less painful when you don't allow yourself to get too attached to people." Adam looked down at the ground, thinking of his parents. Yes...he was sure the whole thing with his grandfather and father would be loads worse if he actually felt that he loved them. Maybe a deep part of him had a little bit of caring for them, but in all honesty Adam had a hard time finding it. After all it's hard to care about someone who acts like you don't exist for most of your life, then tries to control you completely.
"They really aren't that awful if you're prepared," Adam said with a little grin. "They're definitely important and all but stressing over them is definitely not worth it or productive. Do you have a particular subject that you're the most interested in?" Adam personally knew that Defense Against the Dark Arts was his cup of tea and definitely motivated him to study as much as he did for that particular OWL. Divination on the other hand was another story...

Brooke skipped along the corridors, it was WAY too cold today. She had GOOSE bumps, she had to admit she'd been getting pretty worried she was turning into a goose, she always had goose bumps if they didn't go away she was going to go to the healer and ask for some medicine to stop her turning into a goose. She snuggled her robes around her, tightening her scarf a little bit as she continued to skip along the corridor. She stopped then, adjusting her tiarra and decided to have a little rest, the small blonde plopped herself down on the floor and began to sway gently.

The moment she realized she was on the fourth floor, or at least so she thought, Nora had no idea what she was actually doing there, or why in the world had she ended up there. Ah, right; it was way too cold outside to take a walk, so she decided to do that inside the castle. You know, explore the places that were less familiar to her, since she had sort of gotten tired of those dungeons, which were COLD. Colder than up there.
She couldn't help but notice a younger girl on the floor, though, which made her stop. "Why are you sitting there?" Nora asked, trying not to giggle. Whaaat? She was curious.
And just as curious she was about the girl wearing a tiara. Why was she wearing it?

This floor was so.. Brooke wasn't even sure what it was but she liked it. Probably because she liked everything about Hogwarts. She ran her fingers along the corridor floor, writing her name in the floor although it couldn't be seen. She knew it was there, her mark had been made and now anyone who was anyone forever more would know that Brooke Sienna Radley had been at Hoggiewarts. Yay!
And now someone was speaking to her, Brooke looked up from the blank space on the floor which she believed was filled with the fingerprints of her name and smiled. "I like sitting here." she answered simply, that was a good question though, why wasn't she sitting two feet to the left or over there on the other side of the corridor ? all these unanswered questions. "Why are you standing there ?"

She... liked sitting there. Okay, fair enough.
As for her question... well, the younger girl had a good point. "Uh... I guess... because I noticed you?" Nora said hopefully, giggling. "Aren't you cold, sitting on the floor?" It was COLD. Not so cold along those corridors, but it was still January and, well, it was cold. She couldn't say she liked the hot summer days, though. She was more of a spring and autumn girl.

Sammy adjusted her empty book bag on her shoulder. She'd taken down the names of the books Amy had gotten out, in hope that she'd be able to find either another copy or something similar. She was going to pass more than four, that was her aim. That's all she wanted. Some improvement, but honestly from the way everyone else seemed to be acting you'd think she was asking for a flock of unicorns that would attend to her every wish. Which to be honest, would be awesome. She sighed and continued along the corridor, she'd worry about it when she'd graduated. Why couldn't she just go back to first year? Try again?

Evelyn pulled her hair back in a ponytail as she walked down the corridor. She was bored. REALLY bored. All this studying for NEWT's, classes, homework..was driving her insane and she needed a break. Normally, she would have wandered the grounds but it was way too cold outside so she decided to roam around the school.
She continued to stroll down the corridor when she noticed someone familiar walking in the opposite direction. "Hey Sammy!" Evelyn smiled at the girl. She hadn't seen her fellow seventh year in a while. "How have you been?"

Brooke looked up at the girl, the back down to the floor wondering if she was going to join her sitting or not.
She didn't mind of course, but it would've been nice. heh.
Brooke had been NOTICED?! "hehehe. Yay! I was noticieded!" she giggled, flapping her arms in a rather seal like fashion. She liked being noticed. Was she cold ? hmm.. "Yep, but i dunno how to get warm so, im just..being cold." and wearing lotsa layers and staying inside and doing everything mummy had told her to do to make sure she kept warm but still- she was cold! D: "Aren't you cold standing up there ?"

She was noticed... and happy about it?
Okay. "Oh," she breathed, just sliding down the wall to join the girl on the floor. She couldn't believe she was actually sitting on the floor. "I'm afraid I don't know any warming charms... or something to help." And... was Nora cold? "Not really," she shrugged.
"I'm Nora, by the way." If they were going to be floor buddies, they might as well know each other's name. Hehe.

Lana knew it was time to get start buckling down. The break was over and she needed to get her head back into her studies. Her parents weren't all that pleased with her lack of drive and an ultimatum was made. If she wanted to every be able to tryout again her third year for Quidditch, she would have to focus on her studies again. That was enough for her to re-evaluate her actions and here she was now heading to the library to study harder than she had studied before in her short life so far.
Having made a short trip up to see Hermes, she turned the corner and headed down the corridors toward her second home at Hogwarts. It would be quiet in there and she could have some privacy to read the letters that Hermes had delivered to her. There was one for Laura as well from their parents, but she would just have to venture out to find her twin later. She had to at least get started on some of her homework before she got more behind as she was already.

Laura was walking down the Corridor when she saw Lana, she was a bit nervous about seeing her, had she heard what Blue and her had done in the Second Floor Corridor, it had seemed like a good idea at the time but now she wasn't so sure because if Lana had found out, then she had threated her that she wouldn't cover up for her anymore and that daddy would have to know and then she knew she would be in trouble.
Laura slowly walked upto her sister and then spoke. "Lana?" now all she had too know was which Lana was it, was it the fun Lana or the strict Lana the one that was going to have a go at her for messing about, it wasn't like Lana cared about Laura, that was obvious by the fact that they hadn't spoken since Christmas at home, so too Laura, Lana had no right to tell her off or anything, she knew Lana didn't love her anymore, they used to do everything together but now well they didn't.

Lana was almost to the library door when she saw her sister and smiled. It looked like she didn't have to go find her after all and she would be able to spend more time studying. In her mind, it was a win-win. Quickly her made her way toward her twin with a smile. "Laura! Hermes delivered a letter from father for you," she beamed as she reached into her bag for the letter. Turning her head toward her bag, she frowned a bit. It was in there, she just knew it.
After fishing around for a moment's she pulled her hand out, an envelope in hand. "I haven't read it myself, since father addressed it to you." she explained as she handed the letter to her sister. "Besides, he sent me one as well." It was probably best that they got their own letters anyway. They weren't little any more and each of them were their own person now and becoming more and more different than each other as the days went by.
Settling her bag strap back on her shoulder, she motioned to the library. "I'm about to go in to study. You want to join me?" They did seem to work so well together in there classes and maybe if they could do more of their homework together, things might go back to normal for them.

Laura looked at Lana and wondered why Hermes had delivered the letter and not her own owl Beaky, maybe her parents had given it to Lana for a reason and wanted her to read it first, maybe it was something bad, maybe Lana had told on her about the swamp incident.
Laura looked at Lana and smiled. "I'd love to join you and then you can read me the letter." Laura didn't want to tell Lana what had happened with the Swamp. "I'm expecting some bad news and I would love you to be there to support me if it is bad." Laura sighed, she knew she would have to face her parents in the end.
Laura looked at Lana as she pushed the letter into Lana's hand. "Go on read it, I wonder what Father wants to say, it's normally mother who sends owl to me, I'm sure father isn't that keen on me, in fact I'd go as far to say he hates me." Laura sighed, she was a bit jealous of the relationship between Lana and their Father, who never seem to want to spend time with Laura. "And then we can go into the Library."

Lana nodded as she took the letter from her sister. She had no idea why Laura would think that it was bad news. She hadn't gotten bad news from their parents ever, but it had her thinking now about whether or not maybe Laura had before. It puzzled her slightly thought as she looked at the letter in her head again. "You are sure you want me to read it first?" She didn't want to intrude or anything. Their father must of had his reasons to write them separately and all.
Hearing what Laura thought about their father's feelings toward her, Lana frowned. She knew that their father loved them both. "Laura Bean, don't say that. Daddy loves you," she replied as she flipped over the envelope and slide her finger under the seal. "You know, I think you are just being paranoid." Seriously, if their father felt anyway like Laura thought, he probably wouldn't have helped her so much with her boat over the summer. She knew that their parents, both of them, loved their daughters in different but equal ways.
Pulling the letter out, she looked to Laura and smiled before looking at what was written.
SPOILER!!: Letter
Dearest Laura,
I'm sure that you find this odd, to be receiving a letter from me and not your mother, but I felt it was time that I wrote myself. It has been brought to my attention the somewhat random 'incidents' that you have been involved in this past year. It is without saying that I am not pleased at all with this behaviour, but as a former student, I know how sometimes you can get a bit carried away with having fun. I was once like that, but there is a time to play and a time to learn. You two were not sent there to play, but to learn and I believe that it is time that you act like the schoolgirls you are meant to be. By no means, do I expect you be outshine all the other students. I just want you to apply yourselves.
As you know, I have given your sister an ultimatum and if needed, I will give you one as well. It is all up to you now.
With Love,
Ian Hyde
Upon finishing the letter, she looked to Laura. "See it wasn't bad news at all and he does love you." It wasn't completely bad news in her eyes at least. "He cares about how we do and that has to mean something, don't you think?" There was no hate for any of them and Lana was going to make sure that Laura understood that. Motioning to the door again, she shrugged a shoulder. "Library now?"

It was nice to see someone who wasn't going to drill her about the amount of study she had done and the amount of study she was yet to do. Then again, Evie was a prefect, who knew what was in store.
"I'm good" she said with a smile before adding "tired, but good. I don't like exams" she said shaking her head slightly. She couldn't wait to get them over and done with, but she still thought that if she failed she'd be able to stay longer. "What about you? How've you been?" she asked, putting her hands on her hips.

Laura listened to what Lana had to say, she wasn't sure if her father actually cared for her but he did help her build the boat since Aaron had disappeared without a trace so maybe he did love her just a little bit. "Okay maybe Daddy loves me a little." Laura then waited. "I don't think so Lana."
And right there it was she had prove Lana had told on her how else did her Daddy know what she had done but then something Lana said caught her attention "What does Daddy mean by Ul---tom---ato? Seriously who wanted an ultomato?

Lana handed the letter back to her sister, it did belong to Laura after all. It would be rude of her to keep something that was not hers and it was a bit personal and all. Whilst reading the letter, Lana was a bit scared to know how their father had heard about all those things. She had told her sister that she would tell their parents if she kept getting into trouble, but she had yet to actually do it. It was one thing to threaten telling and another to actually do it.
"He loves you a lot! I know he does," she repeated. How was it possible for him not to love his own daughter. Lana did think that Laura was talking silliness about it all, but she would continue on telling her that she was loved by their father until she was blue in the face.
Lana broke a tiny smile and shook her head. "An ultimatum, silly. It's like....well, I can't really explain it." She couldn't think up the words that she could use to make it sounded like it made sense. "Daddy said that I needed to get better grades or there would be no more quidditch for me ever," she offered in hopes it made sense to her twin. "It's like a threat or bargaining chip," she continued on trying to explain.

Laura looked at her sister and sighed. "I think maybe my Head of House told daddy, she's mean and probably would do something like that." Laura was starting to think maybe Lana was innocent in this, but if she found out Lana was involved then there would be another shouting match like the one in the owlery last term.
Laura looked at her sister. "I'm not so sure." Laura sighed it wasn't like she got owls of him all the time like her sister did, even mummy didn't write to her as much as their dad wrote to Lana, taking the letter she put it in her bag and then told her sister something. "Professor Hadley caught a first year and I using a Portable swamp, well actually we set it off on her floor." Laura giggled that had been so funny.
Laura turned back to her sister, "That's what I said an Ultomato." Seriously wasn't her sister listening. "Oh so it's not a huge tomato then?" Laura thought that would have been fun. "Well I am going to try out for the team next term, so I better not tell daddy then." Laura sighed, she hadn't played quidditch this term because of a few certain reason.

Lana looked at Laura and blinked. She couldn't really see Professor Hadley doing what Laura was implying but she didn't know the Hufflepuff Head of House like her sister does. "Do you really think it was her? I could have been someone else too. Maybe one of the other students told their parents and told daddy?" It was always possible that one of their father's friends was telling him what they had heard.
Again, she shook her head. "Well, I believe that he loves you." Maybe he didn't show it as well with Laura as he did with her, but he did love them the same; she was sure of it! Looking back at Laura in shock, as her mind took in just what her sister admitted to her. "Laura Bean, why did you do that?" she asked calmly. It was a bit of a surprise but she wasn't angry at her twin though. "Did you two get in trouble?" There were so many question she wanted to ask but there would be time later.
Holding her hand up to her mouth, she giggled. "No, it's not a huge tomato at all," she smiled. Her sister was always being silly. The thought of being offered a huge tomato was funny though and did sound a lot nicer than what was offered her. "I want to try out next term too, but I have to do better or I can't." She was so worried about not being able to play again, it actually scared her. "I promise not to tell if you promise not to tell daddy if I don't improve soon."

Laura looked at Lana. "I don't know who it was, all I know is someone obviously told daddy about my behavour." Laura sighed, "Though I knew he'd find out soon enough if I didn't stop soon." Laura had just hoped he would have found out until later.
"Okay then if you say so." Laura said she wasn't going to argue anymore. "And yeah we did get into trouble we did it right in front of a Professor what do you expect them to do." Laura sighed. "And we did it because we thought it would be fun and I didn't stop to think about what the consequences would be."
Laura played with her hair for a bit. "Well so at least I got that sorted and don't worry I'd never tell daddy on you, your my twin sister." Laura said truthfully.

Lana frowned. She was at a loss to who could have told their father and just what he might have heard about her as well, but it wasn't like she had done anything terrible lately. "Well, he never mentioned if he believed what he heard or what exactly he heard," she said. "Maybe it's not what you think and he's talking about something else," she offered. It was possible that they could be thinking the wrong things.
Shaking her head, she sighed. "That wasn't a smart thing to do, but at least you didn't get detention again or something." At least, she hoped that they didn't get detention for it. "Did you lose points?" Points were important. "Wait, who was the first year?" That would be important if there was point loss.
Smiling, Lana nodded to Laura. "It's a deal. No tell on each other from here on out," she smiled. "We have to stick together like daddy and mummy want and if that means protecting each other, so be it."

Laura looked at her sister and smiled. "She was a Ravenclaw called Blue and I thought she was brave but well she wasn't as soon as a Professor came she was crying, I was like all cool and just acting normal that how you get away with thing, you act all normal and innocent." Laura giggled.
"Anyway are we going to the Library or are we going to stand here chatting?" Laura looked at her sister. "If we stand here to long a Professor will probably wonder what is going on." Laura sighed. "But anyway I agree we have to stick together so it's a deal."

Minerva walked along the corridor. She was feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the school work she was behind on and decided to stop and have a seat for a moment. She put her head against the stone wall and watched the other students walking around. Getting her bag from her shoulder she decided to pull out some chocolate frogs and have a little snack before heading into the library.

Time to make some friends with some new people before he saw his old friends. So here we go. who was he going to choose to be his next victim friend. This was going to be hard but was he going to walk up to a random person and be all weird around them and make them feel uncomfortable. "HEY YOU!" he walked to a girl. Was she younger than him? It sure looked like it but oh well a friend is a friend and age doesn't matter. "YEAH YOU!" he laughed softly. "What's crackalackin?" the Irish boy asked the girl.
