As you enter you notice how immaculate the classroom is. Every row is in perfect line and there is no dust to be found on the desk. Please stand behind a desk when you enter, DO NOT sit until the professor tells you to do so otherwise you'll have to go outside and do it again.
At the back of the classroom is an area that is sectioned off with a maroon curtain. Please do not go back there until the professor tells you to do so.
Mrs. Bellaire is standing by the front waiting to welcome you all in.
So he was right. He still wrinkled his nose though. Since he was underage he wouldn't be able to use that charm outside of school which meant that he still needed to clean by hand. Well...not anymore, really. He lived with his father now and everything that concerned cleaning was something the elves did. His father didn't even approve when Kennedy attempted to straighten something out.
He shifted his attention back to the class when he heard something about learning two spells. He took note of both, but concentrated on the one he was assigned to. Kennedy jotted down the wand movements and then set his quill down.
"Liberum. Arbitrium. Broom," he said, slowly to himself. Kennedy withdrew his wand and did a wish and clockwise twirl in the air as practice. He liked making sure he had the hang of it before actually performing the charm. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom." This time he said it a bit faster.

Minerva took a pair of pants. She thought about the spell in her head Plic Vestimenta, Plic Vestimenta, Plic Vestimenta. Okay she thought, she was ready now. She tapped the pants with her wand "VestIMENTA Plic" she said, no, no that was back words she thought. Tapping the pants again. "Plic Vestimenta" the pants began to fold themselves. Minerva smiled at this.
Jezzabelle finally felt her nervous state of mind grow. She wasn't good with things like this. Something bad always happened. Deciding to stick with a pair of pants she found a pair and focused on them. "Plic Vestimenta," she said with a gentle tap of her wand. She watched as the pants gave a small wiggle and then stopped moving.
Well, things could have been worse. Taking a cleansing breath she tried again, "Plic Vesti-" and she froze. Halfway through the charm she froze but not on her own accord. She didn't even realize she had frozen. It was only a second or two pause and then, "-menta." Tap. She watched as the pair of pants wiggled a little more. Third time the charm right? "Plic Vestimenta," tap. She watched as it finally worked and the pants folded themselves.
One more try. She unfolded the freshly folded pants and took a nice cleansing breath, "Plic Vestimenta." Tap of her wand. She watched as they folded themselves all nice and tight. It was one of those extremely good moments.

Sophie was finally feeling confortable and had a big smile on her face. She liked Charms! A loooot!! She watched eagerly as the new professor showed the spell they would be working with.
Hm, that seemed simple!
When they were allowed to go practice, she quickly pulled out her wand and went to look for a piece of clothing to work with. She found a messy shirt and decided to work with it.
Cleaning her throat, she first practice the words. "Plic..." What was that again? "Vestimenta" she mouthed the words. "Plic Vestimenta." Alright!
She looked at the shirt and gave it a gentle tap. "Plic Vestimenta!" And she watched as the shirt moved around by itself. It was workiiing!!! Her eyes sparkled, but soon she blinked a bunch of times. The shirt had just danced around a bit and fell down all crumpled again.

She was right. Yay! But it wasn't a glamour. It was a cleaning charm. Now there wouldn't be an excuse for a messy room after she'd graduated. It was almost sad. But picking out a shirt, she shook her head. She couldn't be picky, now could she?
So she'd try the incantation first. "Plic Vestmentia? Plic Vestimentia? No. Plic Vestimenta." That was it. "Plic Vestimenta."
Once she'd gotten it right, she pulled out her wand and tried a tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Okay. Done. Now for the shirt.
"Plic," tap. "Vestimenta." Stepping back, Elise watched the shirt shake itself a little and fold itself a little sloppily. But she'd done it! Yaaaay!
"Ellie," she nodded, correcting Professor Bellaire. She really should have just wrote that on her nametag. It was an awful habit to be putting that last name on there. But now that Ellie J. was gone...
Otherwise, her eyes were on Bellaire's wand. ...They wouldn't be folding? That was actually a good thing, probably. That spell looked wicked easy.
However, she couldn't keep from wincing when the brooms started sweeping. The Captain knew those weren't racing brooms but...still...chores were a horrible fate for any broom. And all it needed was a bit of tender loving care and some charmwork, ironically.
That was what they should learn, you know. Flying charms and others used on brooms.
Ethical ones used on brooms. Not ones to condemn it to a horrible life of housework.
Liberum Arbitrium. Liberum Arbitrium. She was already going over the incantation in her head. Even her lips were moving. And a swish and twirl. That was simple. The wand was soon in her hand, too.
When the spell and wand movement came easily enough, without feeling tongue tied, or wrist tied, the redhead approached a broom. "Sorry," she muttered to it as she aimed her wand. And for once, for the broom's sake, the seventh year hoped she wouldn't get it on her first time. Give the poor broom a longer chance at a life of inanimation, at least, since it wouldn't fly. "Liberum Arbitrium," swish, twirl.
....And of course nothing happened. Not for lack of skill on Ellie's part, but lack of will. She hadn't willed the broom to move, and so it didn't.
Thing was, she wasn't going to want this broom to move. At all. All lesson. Ever. It just wasn't right.

Well then. Now that that was done, aka practicing the incantation and wand movements separately, Sierra was ready to put it all together. Sticking her wand back into her holster for the time being, Sierra picked up her broom and adjusted it so she could easily cast on it. Once that was done, she flicked her wand back out then aimed it toward the broom.
What were the movements again? Oh, yeah. Swish then a clockwise twirl. Sierra moved her wand in those exact directions then said, "Liberum Arbitrium Broom!" She braced herself, expecting there to be some miracle, but then the broom did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Sigh.
Sierra picked up the broom and stared at it, almost as if she was looking for some imperfection. Placing it back where she had it, Sierra aimed her wand at the broom again, ready to repeat the entire procedure.

Eyes on her broom, Kurumi practiced the swish and clockwise twirl movement a few more times before deciding that it was about time she put the two together. It was all about intent, right? Professor Schirmer had reminded her a few times about how important intent was with spellwork, namely during the whole Patronus lesson, so Kurumi took a moment to simply gather her thoughts.
She closed her eyes, picturing the broom in front of her springing to life like she had seen in an old cartoon once. The one with the mouse wearing the wizarding hat and then all the brooms started carrying buckets. In fact, Kurumi began to hum to herself. "Do do...dododo do dodo dododo do do dodododo..." Finding an uncanny rhythm with the melody, Kurumi opened her eyes. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," she commanded, performing the wand movement with shaky fluidity.
It wasn't perfect, but the broom did stand itself up, no longer leaning against the wall, and began to bounce in place to the same rhythm that she was humming.

Nigel was watching the professor do the spell and it seemed so simple when she was doing it. He pulled out his wand and went over to where they could practice. He found some unfolded clothing and started the charm. "Umm Pli.. no, umm Plic Vestimenta!" that was it.
He points his wand at the clothes and shouted "Plic Vestimenta!". He then watched in amazement as the clothes started to fold themselves. He never seen anything like it even at home because his parents folded clothes the muggle way.

"You're all quite right. Today we'll be looking at spells to aid us with cleaning. As I'm sure a lot of you have bedrooms that look like this." Which was quite a shame really.
"We'll be looking at two spells, they are Plic Vestimenta, which is the spell to fold and Liberum Arbitrium which is a motor spell. Third years will be working with the folding spells and the older students will be working with the motor spells."
She moved to the basket and pulled out a shirt. "Pay attention." She gave the shirt a gentle tap on the shirt and said Plic Vestimenta" The shirt quickly folded itself. She smiled at the neatly folded shirt. "See? Very simple." She moved across the room to the brooms. "Now this spell, you need to say the name of the object you are charming. Like this:Liberum Arbitrium Broom. Swish and clockwise twirl of the wand." She proceeded to do as she instructed and the broom sprung into action, sweeping on it's on free will."You can use this on any cleaning instrument."
She stepped aside. "Now everyone take turns practicing. Older students there are enough brooms for everyone to practice on and enough clothing pieces for the younger ones."
Naaah, her bedroom back at home wasn't THAT messy. Sure, she had some of her things just strewn all around and clothes not folded. But what she was seeing now, no....far, far from hers.
YEAP.
Plic...whaaaaaaaaaaaat? Gah, now she was struggling. Crappy. She was still not good with memorizing incantations. She wanted to ask Professor Bellaire again because she did not quite get it but the woman was a busy assisting her other classmates. So, she just took a maroon shirt from the untidy pile of clothes, and......
.....walked to where Elise was, nudged her gently on the side and asked, "Elise..what was the incantation again? I...didn't get it." Yeah, her crappy brain won't let her memorize incantations.
Kennedy stood up once he felt ready perform this charm. He went to stand next to a broom and directed his wand at it, but then pulled back. He repeated the wand movement once more before. Swish and clockwise twirl. There. He had this. Yeah.
The prefect stood in front of the immobile broom. A broom would always remind him of home. Especially the swishing sound it made against the floor. He could almost hear it, or was it someone had already mastered the charm? Meh. He shifted his wand toward the broom and said, "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," as he did a swish and clockwise twirl. His voice had come out confident, something he lacked in his earlier years. It could have also been that he had been concentrating on it pretty hard. It didn't matter though. Not as much as the broom moving in front of him. The charm had worked properly. He slightly grinned at himself.
That's how it's done people.
His green eyes followed the broom's movement. This reminded him of his mother. She would have loved that charm, if only she wasn't muggle and didn't have a thing against all magical things. The ironic thing was - to him - that magic came easy to him, but his mother disliked it with a passion.

Sierra knew she'd done all the right steps, and she was positive she'd said the incantation the right way, too. So what had happened? In her younger days, she'd have blamed the broom. Now that she was a little older, though, and had ambition and power at the top of her priorities, she had a desire to get things right.
Intent. She needed intent. She took a few moments to look at the broom and get a good mental picture of what she wanted it to do. She could almost see it steadily sweeping the floor. As she pictured it, she began making a swishing motion with her wand, and then she followed that up with a clockwise twirl. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom!" she exclaimed.
This time, the broom sprang to life. Well, maybe not sprang to life, but it at least pushed itself off the wall and stood up. It even made a little movement to the left, beginning the sweeping process. Then a second later, it fell to the floor with a loud clang. Sierra sighed. At least it'd moved.
Silvia stepped up to the basket of clothes and pulled out a rather large shirt. The spell didn't look like it would be too hard to master, and it seemed pretty useful too; she wasn't fond of folding laundry. Back home her parents took care of most of the washing and folding of laundry, but here at hogwarts she had to start folding her own clothes and robes. It might have been an easy task, but that didn't make it any more enjoyable, and Silvia, despite being a very organized person, sometimes neglected it for a little while.
Well, first thing first. "Plic Vestimenta...Plic Vestimenta..." she began to repeat to herself, until she had it commited it to memory.

She listened intently to the Professor on what to do. She didn't want to make any mistakes in this classroom. She was a little bummed though that she would only get to do the folding part. Maybe if they showed her how well they paid attention and how well they practiced she would let them do that broom thing.
Hannah decided to practice a bit before she actually tried. She thought the professor would appreciate that. Plic Vestimenta...what a weird word. She cleared her throat and gave it a go. "Plic Vest..." Err...that's not right she thought. "Plic Vestimenta" That was a bit better she thought. "Plic Vestimenta" Perfect! She felt like she was ready to perform the task.
Okay now things were looking a lot better, people were actually thinking now. It put her in a much better mood. Though this was quite easy so, yeah.

They were going to use magic to clean? He had no idea that you could do that. He watched closely as the professor demonstrated the spell he would be preforming. Folding clothes, cool, he hated that chore. And the broom, that was neat too, but he didn't need to know how to do that. Struggling to pull his wand out of his robe, he walked up to a pair of shorts laying on the ground. Tightly gripping his wand, Kaiden said "Plic Vestimenta" and tapped the pants. He watched, expecting the pant to fold like the teacher's but all the did was twitch. "Plic Vestimenta" he repeated, and they moved a little more.

So they were indeed to be learning cleaning spells specifically this class. Liberum Arbitrium...to charm items to move to either clean them up or to magik cleaning impliments to clean without personal touch. He watched the demonstration of the spell, paying close attention so he could duplicate later on since that was probably the progression of the lesson. When Professor Bellaire did in fact release them to give the spell a try on their own, Gideon paused to work on the incantation first and formost like he was used to when they learned a new spell.
"...Li-ber-um Ar-bit-tri-um...Liberum Arbitrium" he spoke quietly to work but not distract anyone else. It seemed right and pretty close to what the woman herself had spoken. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," he said once more, adding the broom on last when he was satisfied with the Latin since it was a word he knew well already.
Oh, he watched carefully about the folding charm as well though. Because it was one he hadn't known yet either! Darn, he really wished he could write it down, but unfortunately his parchment and stuff were back at the desks!
Alright swish and twirl clockwise...or was it counterclockwise??? Oi, he'd been so concentrated on the folding thing! Muttering under his breath Liberum Arbitrium Broom over and over as he went and collected a broom. Well his mum would appreciate the help at home, now that he'd be able to help with his wand. HAH! yep next time he saw her he could since he'd be of age. He'd forgotten that!
Taking the broom he swished and twirled his wand counterclockwise "Liberum Arbitrium Broom" ACK! it spun in circles twirling around in front of him. "Professor!" he called backing away from it. How did you stop it??? Maybe finite?

She wasn't sure whether or not she needed to practice the wand movement since it was just a gentle tap, but she decided to do so anyways. It would be super embarassing if she managed to mess up a simple tap. She wasn't a first year anymore so more things were expected of her.
She took out her wand and only her wand. She make a gentle tap motion and felt a little silly, but she wanted some house points! She did another gentle tap in mid-air. She was feeling pretty confident at this point and felt like she could tackle the shirt now.
Not that that really made much of a difference because Ellie still didn't much like the idea of a broom sweeping the floor. It was just WRONG. Couldn't they mop the floors instead? At least that seemed normal. Mops were never intended to fly. Brooms were, though. They really really were.
Sigh.
But she had to, right? It wasn't like this was Schirmer. Ellie wasn't going to plainly refuse these directions. And she wasn't going to fight them. So she began to mentally prepare. And not the spell, but...for what she was about to witness. She closed her eyes and reminded herself that it was an ordinary broom. That it wouldn't hurt the broom. That she was being ridiculous.
"Liberum Arbitrium Broom," swish, twist.

With the saying of the spell's incantation to his liking, Gideon decided to move on to practicing the wand movement in turn. It was a swish and a clockwise twirl as instructed and demonstrated so he tried it out with just his empty hand pretending he was holding his wand before he in fact slipped said wand from his pocket so he could try it for the full effect minus the incantantion and intent.
Swish and clockwish twirl...swish and clockwise twirl...swish and clockwise twirl...swish and twirl...swish and twirl.
Figuring it was probably about time he actually cast the spell, Gideon moved to actually take one of the brooms from where they rested. The prefect separating it from its brethran so he could focus on just on. Taking a breath he raised his wand and began. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," he cast, moving his wand in the appropriate movement and waiting for the reaction. The broom shook ever so slightly at first before shifting as if to move from its spot on the wall but it didn't move more then a few inches.

Confident Hannah walked over and got her a shirt to practice on. She took out her wand and did a couple of gentle pats just in case. She said the word a coupkle of more times to herself. Seperate from the wand movements of course.
She took a deep breath in and gave it a shot. With a gentle tap of her wand on the shirt and saying "Plic Vestimenta" she expected the shirt to fold with no problem. Why was this not working? She had practiced this. Maybe she needed better concentration.
She rolled her shoulders and gave it another go. With a gentle tap of the wand she said "Plic Vestimenta" and still nothing. I mean it looked like the shirt moved a bit. Does that count for anything? Starting to get a little bit frustrated she cleared her mind and rolled her shoulders. Third time is a charm right?
Once again she said "Plic Vestimenta" while she gently tapped the shirt and sure enough right before her eyes the shirt folded right before her eyes. She couldn't help but to beam because she was proud of herself.

Awww. It seemed like Elise was busy that she couldn't help her as of the moment. Oh well, she can't really blame her fellow Ravenclaw. Professor Bellaire only said the incantation once, without even teaching them the proper wand movements, quickly got into doing an example. Gaah, it was just.....too fast for her. Oh, she missed Schirmer. Not that she didn't like the new Professor, but...Professor Schirmer's ways were just easier to understand and learn.
Whereas now, she felt like they were racing against time, like someone was running after them that if they don't hurry with learning then they're all gonna die. Pssshh, exaggeration. She had been having exaggerated thoughts more and more now.
But Merlin, what was she doing? Gawking at her classmates as they start doing their work? She was just staring....She couldn't find another one who's supposedly practicing the same charm as her, almost all of them were too preoccupied fuddling with the brooms. Should she ask Professor Bellaire now? Or, "Uhm..can someone please tell me what the incantation for folding is again?" Better idea.

... they were going to clean. Well, that explained all the weirdness at the beginning of the class.
Watching the professor carefully, Nora saw that, indeed, it seemed quite simple, unless the brooms would start being rebel and... no, they'd listen to her. Once the demonstration was done, she eyed a broom and pointed her wand at it. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," she said with a swish and a clockwise turn of the wand. A large grin spread over her face when she saw the broom move around, sweeping the floor.
Sophie was still looking down at the messed up shirt. She needed to concentrate more, probably. Taking a deep breath, she gave it another tap with her wand. "Plic Vestimenta!" She said firmly.
The shirt moved again, and now it looked like it was actually folding itself! Sophie eyebrows started to raise but soon the shirt stopped moving again, being halfway folded.
Well, it has been better than her first try, hasn't it? Sigh.
Right, well... She still wasn't too sure of this. Not at all. If Vindictus were here, would he stop the madness? Or can he, unlike her, understand the difference between a household broom and a Quidditch broom? Or rather, accept the difference?
Ellie chewed her lip for a good long while. Minutes. She could hear the commotion of others in their own attempts at making the brooms sweep and clothes fold. But she paid them no mind. She was just going to stand, chew, and mentally scold herself.
She would NOT fail at charms just because she stupidly refused to make a stupid broom stupidly sweep stupidly.
No.
She WILL do this. And the broom WILL sweep. Cause she was Ellie and she was amazing at charms. "Liberum Arbitrium Broom," swish, twist.
And just like that, it went a'sweeping.
The Captain only let it sweep long enough to know she'd succeeded, though, before casting a silent finite at it.
That'll do, broom, that'll do.
......Unless she wanted to try it nonverbally....if time allowed....
