~* Entrance *~
As you approach the Muggle Studies classroom, you notice that the door is closed, which is different than usual. When you reach for the door handle, a deep British accent comes from the door, "Please state your full name and your House..."
After you share your name and house, the door will swing open to the ornate classroom. As usual, Professor Cerulean has decorated the classroom using charms to match the theme of the lesson. Once you have rped yourself introducing yourself to the door wait for the door to formally announce you before you enter the room. (I will come in throughout the day and act as the announcer)
Before entering, please wait for the door to introduce you properly. Then you may walk into the room.
~* Decorations *~
The room is extravagant! The ceiling is sparkling under a tool puff. The room is divided into four sections, one for each of the houses. Each section is easy to spot because it is color coordinated to match each house. Above each section, there are Chinese Lanterns floating above the section in shades of the house's color. So the Slytherin section has shades of green lanterns floating above the round tables. Ravenclaw has shades of blue lanterns floating above the round tables. Gryffindor has shades of red lanterns floating above the round tables. And Hufflepuff has shades of yellow lanterns floating above the round tables.
SPOILER!!: The ceiling
SPOILER!!: Chinese Lanterns Floating over each section
Each section contains a number of round tables that have been decorated using the House Colors as well. The tables have a simple black table cloth. The napkins and plates color coordinate with the lanterns floating above them. The tables have already been set in a formal setting. The centerpieces are very simple and elegant. Each centerpiece has three cylinder vases of varying sizes filled with water that is dyed to match the House color. A simple candle floats in each vase.

~* Instructions/OOC *~
Please read the notes under the Entrance section. Once you have rped yourself introducing yourself to the door wait for the door to formally announce you before you enter the room. (I will come in throughout the day and act as the announcer) Then find a seat wherever you would like. Professor Cerulean will be here shortly. Please keep talking to a minimum and remember that she is watching at all times...
The class will officially start in about six or so hours. See you then!

(These are set up to help you keep up if you come in a little late...remember not to post your charrie sneaking in late....)
Eino took a piece of the funny looking yet tasty selling bread and placed it on his plate. First he examined it to make sure he wasn't eating something yucky. It looked safe to eat, so Eino took a small bite. It was very delicious. He then turned his attention to Professor Cerulean and quickly wiped his hand clean on the napkin before raising it. "Typically, the waiters just serve the food from, ummm, behind me?" The stood behind him, at least, but he wasn't quite sure what Professor Cerulean was looking for. As the rest of the students took a turn to speak, Eino continued to nibble of his fancy looking bread.
TAylor took a piece of the bread. SHe raised her hand to answer the question, "You get served from your right since it goes clockwise and it is taken from your left." She took a bite of her bread now that she is done talking.
That was a weird name for bread she would never remember it! Ever!! She took some and ate it quietly it tasted okay, Although she would probably eat abything in front of her.. Especially the little snacks before hand!
She sure did ask alot of questions huh? After finishing her bread completely, Her hand went up AGAIN! "The proper way of serving the food would be from the right and if that's the way you serve it's obviously oppisite when it comes to collecting the empty plate,"
She simply gave a nod to the Proffesers rules, it wasn't like she was going to anything on her set of rules! Well except the tomato thing! SHIVERS! But she'd have to eat it now huh?

Basic procedure when eating is of course, unfolding the napkin and put it onto the lap. Jonathan did so and the professor did say it as well. Throughout the discussion, Jonathan only listened to the professor. Muggles have quite similarities when it comes to dinner etiquette as well with the wizards and witches here in the wizarding world. Fascinating.
The brushetta looked really yummy too. Now for the soup, "Professor" he raised his hand to answer "People get served from the right" right? "And the food is taken from you, from the left side" maybe.

Amelia took one of the weird looking tomato things and put it on her bread dish. She didn't care for tomato, so she wasn't sure how much she would enjoy eating the thing. Instead, she just turned all her attention to the Professor again as the lesson continued.
It didn't seem too complicated, there were quite a few similaries between this and what she knew already. Though she had to admit that she hadn't been to that many parties that required this type of eating.
She raised her hand at the question. "You would get served on your right, and your food taken from you on your left." It worked going by the whole idea of your food moving clockwise.

"You pass the food to the left going in a clockwise direction...if you were sitting at the table with the host, you would let the host start the food...but since we are all here learning together we don't have an official host, so the plate will just start with a random student..." with that the plates of bruschetta levitated to one person at the table and waited for it to be grabbed. "Please just grab one bruschetta off the plate. The plates have been charmed not to fall" she added before someone got nervous about that. "Because the bruschetta is a bread you may eat it with your hands....and place it on your bread dish..."
She flicked her wand and the menu appeared on the screens again and the appetizer was crossed out on the list. "Okay now onto to our next course...and no worries about not being able to finish all of the courses. Each course isn't a huge serving but just enough...." she said moving her wand to signal the cups of soup to come in. Each one flew in and levitated above the tables. "Now before we get our next course I just want to remind you of some common rules that apply in any eating setting...." she said with her sweet smile.
"Number One...never talk with food in your mouth...Number Two....Do not put your elbows on the table. This is rude and can knock items off the table...Number Three...Don't blow on your food, just let it cool down while you have conversations with other guests...and Number Four...If you ever get something that you don't like. It is always customary to take atleast one bite to try it out....unless you are allergic and then you just don't touch it...." yes those were some simple and good ones to start with.
"So before the soup is delivered, can anyone tell me from which side the food will be served to you? And when you done with a course, which side the dish will be removed from?" she asked hoping her question made sense.
OOC: Remember to raise your hand before you answer. .And as always remember she is always watching you! But remember she doesn't handle rudeness towards Muggle ways very well, so you might want to keep those prejudices to yourself unless you want face the consequences! Try the bread!!!!
Vickers took a piece of bruschetta and lay it on his bread plate before passing it to the student next to him. He listened quietly when the Professor went over the general rules of etiquette. It was like it was back home again, except the Professor says the rules much nicer than his grandmother ever did.
He raised his hand again on the next question "Food is usually served on our right, whether its by servers or passing it along on a long dining table. When the diner is done or there is reason to take the food away mid-meal servers clear the dishes from the left side of the diner."
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes

Minerva took the bread as it was passed to her. She placed a little piece in her mouth chewing it completely before raising her hand. "Professor you are served from your right and empty dishes are taken from your left."
Jezzabelle took one bruschetta and passed it on to the person sitting to her left. She took a bite and placed what she didn't eat onto her bread plate. The chewing gave her a chance to think things over as well as enjoy the taste. It was delicious and almost distracted her from the objective at hand. She swallowed the food and took a sip of her tea. Raising her hand she smiled and said, "They food is severed to you on your right side and the dirty dishes are removed from your left side."

Bruschetta on the bread plate...Kurumi looked down at her hands again, making note of the b and then set it down there before wiping her hands with her napkin. Before she could try it - although she really wasn't a fan of tomatoes - the next question was asked and Kurumi found herself sort of blinking.
Where were things served from? Where was there room on the table!? There were so many plates, glasses, and silverware that Kurumi figured the things just sort of levitated there. And...wait a second...wasn't there a rule of no magic in the classroom? No exceptions? She eyed the professor for a moment curiously before returning to think about the question. Having no idea, Kurumi just tried to think things out logically and raised her hand.
"If your drink is on your right...isn't there a chance of it being knocked over if the waiter served you from that side?" It sort of made sense. There was no harm in knocking over a bread plate and having a waiter lean around her back to serve her seemed sort of freaky. "So...serve on the person's left side and take on the right? Opposite of when we pass things around the table?" Or was it the same? All this was really overwhelming for Kurumi who had grown up living a very simple life style in the nonmagical world.

Presley shook her head in exasperation. They were all wrong! Every last one of them was just repeating the same answer! She threw her hand into the air. "Um, actually the food is served from the left, and dishes are removed from the right," she said somewhat shyly, somewhat frustrated. Had these people never been to a formal dinner before?
Nate raised his hand slowly, so as not to knock the tray of Bruschetta out of the air. "Would the tray be passed to you on your right, and removed from your left? That would follow the clockwise pattern," he said as he took one piece of the funky looking tomato bread with an official demeanor about him.
As the soup came out, though, something popped into Nate's head, and he had to ask before he messed something up. "Professor, is it still--allowed, per say, to dip our bread in the soup?" So long as it was his own soup and not Pam's or some of the other students' then it seemed like it was fine.

Alyssa first took one of the Bruschetta's off the plate. She loved these little Italian breads with onions and tomatoes on them. She would wait until everyone had taken a piece before taking a bite out of hers. So she lay her piece on her bread plate and raised her hand to answer the Professor's next question.
"Professor, the server will always serve our food from our left side, and when we are done with our food, the dishes are removed from our right side. So it is always polite to move a little to the side when the server is serving or removing, so that you are not in their way."
Pam looked happily down at her food, and then over to Nate. She was excited to be here. It was her first ediquite class, and she was glad she was getting it at a young age. As she waited for her food to cool, she pondered on the question. After a couple seconds she raised her hand. "Wouldn't the food come from your left, and be picked up on your right?"

... This was odd. Ellie was sort of just staring blankly at everyone, including the professors. There was a certain side that waiters were supposed to serve and clear your plates? And there was a certain direction you were supposed to pass the food? When Ellie was at home, the food was just put out on the table and everyone just sort of... dug in. Nothing fancy. And they never went to many restaurants, so she really had no idea.
When the Bruschetta came to Ellie, she eyed it before taking a piece and setting it on her bread plate. She looked up at Amelia next to her and pursed her lips. Mia knew that Ellie hadn't had much luck with keeping her food down recently. But Professor Cerulean just said that it was proper to at least take a bite of everything. So, Ellie took a small nibble. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too bad by the end of the lesson.

Well..honestly, Beezus haven't eaten anything for the day since she was very busy getting ready for her attire in that Muggle Studies class. She wasn't used to dressing up and putting make up now. Merlin, she didn't even know how to wear those kind of shoes properly, she was only used to converse shoes. And because of that, the moment that food was served on their tables, it triggered her hunger.
And now, she was very hungry indeed. As questions came from left to right, she did not even bother opening her mouth since she already knew the stuff, she allowed the others to give out their ideas. Besides, if she opened her mouth, it'll just water at the mere sight of the Bruschetta bread. She would pounce on it if she had the chance. Hence, her delight when finally..Professor Cerulean said that they could try eating the bread now. Of course, she followed the proper rules of etiquette as she did.
When another question was brought up, she slowly chewed on the bread and listened to her classmates as they gave out answers. Most of them had it, she thought. Then she drank water as she nodded.
Angelina took a piece of bruschetta from the plate that got past to her right. Once she got one piece she past it to the person on her left. She took a bite of the bruschetta and placed it on her bread plate? She hoped she placed it on the right plate.
Raising her hand she said, "Professor wouldn't the server serve your food from your left and once you are done with the food you have it would be taken from your right?" Angelina was pretty sure she was right, it makes a lot of sence to! Its like a line almost where one side you recieve and the other end or side you give away.
Treyen was going to kill Arya for making him eat. Today had been the LAST time that his best friend was going to make him eat more than he wanted to. Why? Simply because he was now facing a seven course meal...and he'd just eaten. So, yeah, he wasn't precisely hungry.
Granted, Cerulean's servings seem to be small...so...he could at least try them, without finishing them, which she said was totally okay. As long as he took a bite or something.
He took one bruschetta and placed it on the bread dish, before passing it along.
Oh, another question. Hand raised. "The food is served from the left, which means it's removed from the right." Sort of like they were doing, no? Because they were passing that bread stuff to the left of each of them. So, basically, the food is served on one side and then the plate would be removed from the other side. Easy.
Looking at the bruschetta made her hungry but she just couldn't eat! Onto the lesson it was confusing for Eva because she had no idea to do that a lot of the time she would just eat in her room or with a bunch of friends that didn't care how she ate food like to much. Raising her hand she said; "Professor you get served form your right and it is taken from your left hand side."

Smoothing out the napkin in her lap, and therefore her skirt underneath, Stella had stayed silent as the lesson had really officially begun. It wasn't exactly that she hadn't had any idea as to the answers. She just had decided to take it all in, almost pretend that it wasn't a lesson. At least the menu didn't look to be French, which helped her keep her thoughts seperate from memories of Beauxbatons. That kept her comfortable, and she delicately selected a piece of bruschetta as the plate was passed to her, then passed it on. Taking a small bite, she placed the rest on her bread plate and turned her attention back to Professor Cerulean as the discussion moved to the next course.
She sent a glance toward the student who had asked if they could dip their bread into their soup, though. Obviously they'd never gone to a formal dinner. She assumed the professor would correct them, though, and raised her hand along with the others as the next question was posed. "Dishes after the appetizer course are passed the opposite to the first course. That is, they are passed from left to right, enabling the server to replace the empty dish from the appetizers with the next course easily, and keeping things organized and moving smoothly," she answered, before lowering her hand and taking another bite of her bruschetta before the soup arrived.

Zhenya raised her hand and spoke, "Professor I believe the Left hand side is where dinner and other food is served and also for clearing side dishes, but the Right hand side is where plates are cleared from," she said. She really wasn't 100% certain of her answer but that was just how it was during her experiences.

When the tiny, mysterious but yet delicious looking things reached her, Nora helped herself with one and placed it on its dish, but not before taking a small bite. Mmmm. As for those rules... yes, she knew them, because her mother insisted all the time not to do anything inappropriate when eating.
"The food is served on the right, and the dish will be removed from the left?" She suggested when she raised her hand. Well, if it wasn't it, it had to be the other way around.
Lilly wasn't sure her answer was right, but she raised her hand anyway. "Is your food served to you on your right, and finished dishes taken away on the left?" she said, quietly. "Because that would follow a clockwise pattern?" Lilly added, uneasially. Even if that was wrong, it was a 50% chance.

Everything was so orderly in this class today. The only thing he knew about eating soup an food was to not eat nor talk with your mouth opened. But this class had a rule for everything. Usually the first thing he had with soup, when at home was too eat it, an then jump up an down as he breathed out trying to cool it off in his mouth.
Adam raised his hand. "Isn't it served on your right?" At least from what he remembered of being out in a fancy restarunt he thought he leaned to the left so the waiter could serve on the right. But he couldn't remember which said the dish would be taken away.

As Sky took a piece of the brushetta and placed it on her bread plate, another question was asked. She looked around the room, shocked at some the answers. Really, were they that incapable of rational thought? And the one that asked if the bread could be dipped into the soup. Just… really?! Had that person been raised in a barn? Obviously the person had no class at all.
Sky raised her hand and added her voice to the correct answers. "If you really think about it, it's obvious. The food is served from your right and removed from your left, to keep up with the idea of going clockwise. I believe if the food is served from your left, then it would be going counterclockwise," she explained, sounding slightly snooty about it.
She then took a delicate bite of the brushetta. Yum, it tasted delicious!
