Transfiguration Lesson II [Inside the Practice Room]
You are not in the classroom today, no, you are in the slightly bigger practice room just down the corridor. As you enter you notice that gone are all the usual things kept there, to be replaced with four rows of plain chairs (no desks). Two rows down the left hand side wall, and two down the right. On the wall above the chairs on the left is a sign that reads "1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th YEARS SIT HERE", and on the opposite wall is a sign that says "5th, 6th & 7th YEARS SIT HERE."
At the back of the room are red and green clothes makers dummies, with spring-loaded bases, arranged all higgledy piggledy rather than in uniform rows. In the big space in front of the them, and between the rows of chairs, stands Professor Magnus. With her hands clasped behind her back, and a smile on her face, she is ready to greet you as you arrive.
SPOILER!!: Classroom Layout for those that wish to know
OOC: Class will start at about 5pm, so for now please just have your character enter the lesson and take their seat in the correct place. No excessive chatter though, please!

The professor wanted to cast the spell on someone. Really? Was she going to cut someone in half. That was bad. What if that person didn't want to walk around it two halves. Although that would make that person very epic at being in two places at once. But Indiana's hand was staying right in her lap, good thing that no first years had to volunteer, because she really wouldn't want any of her friends to be cut in half. That would be bad, she liked her friends as they were. Indy mused, looking forward to being able to practice on the dummy though. She was sure that was bound to be fun, and she was that they wouldn't mind being cut in half...

"Although we are a bit lopsided with numbers, so could all you fourth years please move to the opposite side?" she gestured with her hands as if she was sweeping them across herself. "Alright then, first spell and first question to you 1st through 3rd years - can you tell me what 'Diffindo' does, please?"
Scott raised his hand, he loved this class. Thinking hard about what it could be, his father had taught him some harder spells. "It cuts things?" was that it?

Thea watched as Alyssa demonstrated the spell. Straightenin up slightly, she frowned. PArtner up? With one of the older ones? Woah. Reeewind. Frown still in place, she spotted one of the older Gryffindor boys just sitting there staring at all the younger ones. Uhm.. awkward? Averting her gaze back to the professor, Thea folded her arms across her chest.
Severing charm on a student? A smirk crept across her face. Muhaha. This should be good.
Caroline looked around the room to see if anyone was wanting to volunteer. She shrugged and throw her hand up she had always wanted to be a volunteer. "I'll do it Professor." with a sheepish grin as long as she didn't turn out in the Hospital Wing.

Ah, a volunteer. And someone who was eager enough to stick their hand up before Isabelle had barely finished asking. Two people in fact. The second also extremely eager. Maybe she could use them both...
"Thank you both, please come up here and stand just a few paces in front of the dummies," she motioned for them to stand centre of the room, but just back a bit so they weren't near the students sat down. "All right, this might take you a little by surprise, but if you keep still I promise it won't hurt." Much. No, it wouldn't. Chaff maybe, but no real pain. Heh. "Shoulders side by side please, like you're a Muggle soldier in a line up, thank you."
Once they were in the right position, Isabelle brought her wand out to the front and up to point at the kids. "Ready? Good." Sweeping her hand to the right, she turned her wrist clockwise and cast the spell non-verbally. Ropes shot out the end of her wand, flowing like they were in a breeze as they made their way towards the two children. Suddenly they hit their target and wrapped themselves so tightly around them that the kids were forced to turn their backs on each other, rather than stay standing as they had been.
Putting her arm down, Issy surveyed the scene. The two kids were now bound together by thick ropes, which extended from their shoulders down to their waists - arms completely trapped. Grinning, she turned back to the older students. "Now, I'm sure some of you have an idea of the spell I just cast on them. Would anyone like to tell me what it was?" She had done it non-verbally for a reason, you see.

Ooh. Indiana was sure that she had read about this spell. On one the cold winter evening, she has sat by the fire in the common room, and just read one of her transfiguration textbooks. It seemed to have worked out pretty well too, because she was sure she had read about this spell. The ropes coming out of the professor's wand, made her think of that spell. So she assumed that was it. Although she wasn't too sure that the spell was actually transfiguration, but she was only little so if she was wrong it wouldn't matter. Rigght? "Is it Incarcerous Professor?"

Yeahhhhh Tori didn't really know what that spell was, but she was guessing that they were going to have to use diffindo to get themselves out of it. Heh.
"Was it... ropedydopedydoo, professor?" Tori answered in all seriousness, her hand straight up in the air.

Aaron did as the professor said, unable to wipe the grin off his face as he did so. He grinned at the girl standing next to him, not sure whether she was as excited as he was, this was SO COOOOOOL.
Aaron burst out in laughter as the ropes wrapped themselves around him and the girl, it really didn't hurt. It felt kinda funny, really. 'THIS IS AWESOME, PROFESSOR!' He yelled, yeah, maybe he was easily excited. 'But I really have no idea what spell that was.'

Caroline put her hand down and walked up to the front and center of the room. Where she stood just a few feet in front of the dummies. It wasn't too late to back out now was it? So if she stayed still it wouldn't hurt as much or not at all Caroline stood still that is until she slid over a bit to get shoulder to shoulder with the Hufflepuff volunteer.
Ready? Guess she had to be right? She was standing up and there was no way she was or would be able to back out now. Professor Magnus took her wand and pointed it at her and the boy. She waited to hear what spell was going to be cast, wait was she doing a non-verbal spell, she should have know that with Magnus.
A Rope came flying toward her as the got shot out of the Professors wand. They hit her and tied her together with the boy. Too bad he wasn't a Gryffindor. Now she was wasn't standing next to him but now she was back to back with him. She had to admit that was pretty awesome. She had volunteered and gotten tyed up. That wasn't as bad as she thought. "By the looks of it, I'd a say a binding spell, Incarcerous? mmm Possibly." She laughed, and possibly someone gave her a Laugh-inducing Potion, just maybe, she thought that she wasn't going to stop. But she did. Anyway yeah thats what it looked like to her. A binding spell.

Kourtney watched with interest as two students volunteered for whatever demonstration that the professor was going to perform down. As she watched, the students were bound in thick ropes down to their waists. Her eyes widened slightly and then she turned to her quill to began making notes. She hadn't a clue as to the name of the spell, but it certainly would be a good one to know. And she could guess that the teacher would use Diffindo to cut the ropes next?
'I think it is Incarcerous', the second year said quickly, not thinking if the Professor had only asked the older students. Hmm... anyway- let's just hope she won't take points away for that, Gwen thought and then tried not to roll her eyes. Relax, she told herself.
'Professor?',the young ravenclaw began saying, noticing the two students were still bound with the ropes. 'Does Relashio have to be used to... release them?'Probably...not?

William raised his hand " The spell you used on the students is Petrificus Totalus" William told the professor.

Selina watched as the lesson began to unfold. One minute the entire room was calm and then a pair of students were locked in a body bind spell by Professor Mangus. She had to be seeing things, this was too brilliant to actually be happening in class. But it was and she was asking people to explain how she did that.
Her hand shot up in the air and she said, "First, ma'am... that was brilliant. Second, its a body bind spell like Incarcerous or something of that nature."
Scott watched in horror as she bound the students together via rope.
He raised his hand again. "Like others have said, I believe the spell used to be Incarcerous" he nodded, trying to show that he thought it was right.
For a moment Eino thought the professor was going to use the severing charms on the two students, then glue different halves together. Good thing she didn't, even though it slightly disappointed Eino. He recognized the spell as many others had so he didn't feel the need to raise his hand and repeat the same thing. It was a little more violent than he had imagined it to be. The two students were very tightly roped.

Alyssa raised her hand and answered. "Could it be the Incarcerous Spell, Professor? By the way, that spell was brilliant!!"
Ashley watched intently from where he had moved to sit next to Violet about forever ago, even though he didn't really want to, mostly because he figured he would do better if he was hiding in the back somewhere. But this was already way more interesting than the last class, so maybe it would stay that way.
He had no idea what that ropey spell was called, though he'd thought the professor was only asking the older students anyway. So he didn't need to know. But then so many other of the younger students were answering, making him wonder if maybe he just had more studying to do. Whatever it was, it was pretty cool. Maybe he should do more studying just so he'd be able to do it eventually. It seemed very useful... for... looking cool.
Isabelle raised her hand as the ropes binded the two fellow upperclassmen. At least it wasn't the diffindo spell like she thought the professor was going to do. What a relief. "Professor, would the spell be Incarcerous, the spell that casts ropes to bind the victims," Isabelle asked. She was quite possitive she was right. Now she thought she knew what they would be using the dummies for.
Wooow. That was cool. If only he could use that on the kids back home. Kennedy scanned his brain for the name of the spell. Hmm. He slowly raised his hand and said, "It's Incarcerous." Was it? Was he right? Was he wrong? His eyes then drifted to the dummies. He wanted to practice on them already.

Minerva jumped in surprise when the ropes shot out of the wand. That can happen? Minerva thought to herself. Then some younger students answered the professors question. She thought it was only for the older students to answer. Minerva had no clue the answer so she just sat quietly and waited.

Sierra smirked as she watched how the two volunteers were tied together, unable to move and completely at the mercy of the professor. Perhaps they should have been allowed to use a wand, as well? A good Expelliarmus or Protego would have done them some good.
"Incarcerous?" Sierra suggested, raising her hand when the professor asked which spell had been used.

Isabelle had not been expecting the younger students to answer, but she was pleasantly surprised when a few of them did. At least it showed they were reading their textbooks and paying attention. She addressed each of them in turn.
First being little Indiana.
"You are quite correct, young lady. Very good knowledge," she smiled, nodding at the girl.

Although it seemed not all of them were bookish.
Stifling a snort, Issy shook her head at the Slytherin. "No. No, it's - it's not ropedydopedydoo." Although that was a cool name, she couldn't deny that.

Isabelle turned back to the still rather excited - and giggly - volunteers. They didn't seem to mind being tied together like that, and she was pleased that they'd stayed still to avoid the chafing. And one knew the answer, the other seemed too excited to care. "You are correct, Caroline, well done. And I'm glad you enjoyed it Mr Roberts. Now, lets see if we can free you, eh?"
Taking her wand again, Issy slowly did the wand movement and silently cast 'Diffindo'. A flash of green and the ropes separated, dropping to the floor and releasing their catch. "You can go back and sit down, thank you both for your help," Issy smiled at them, flicking her wand again and vanishing the pile of rope.
----------------------------------
"Now, some of you might remember from a couple of terms ago, I taught a spell that had a very similar incantation. That one, 'Incarcolvo' conjured a net that would stiffen on impact and capture smaller things. Much more useful for little animals, or other small creatures." Isabelle jabbed her wand at the ground, a black mesh appearing from the end of it. It hit the ground and sprung up into a rounded shape. "See? Incarcerous is very different in it's outcome. If not performed correctly the ropes can injure the target, or wrap around an area you do not wish them to go." Like the face. Even if you were trying to capture a criminal, that wasn't really good.
Stepping backwards, Isabelle turned to face the dummies and flicked her wand had at them. Suddenly they all moved a few paces forwards and spread out a little more than before. "What we are going to do - or YOU, should I say - is try and capture one of the green dummies. In pairs. The older student shall capture it using 'Incarcerous', and the younger one will free it with 'Diffindo'. Be sure not to hit a red one, as they are charmed to let off a very foul smell if anything like a rope touches them." Wellll, she couldn't let it be too easy, could she? "I'll vanish the ropes so we don't get overrun with them. And you will be taking it one pair at a time. Handing over to the next once you have successfully captured a dummy."
"Please now get into your pairings, one older student going with one younger one - so the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years need to find a 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th year to go with. Thank you!" Waving her arms in the air, Isabelle gestured to them all to go forth and pair up.
OOC: I'll be moving on to starting the task tomorrow, so PLEASE DO NOT CAST ANY SPELLS BEFORE I POST AGAIN TELLING YOU YOU CAN. FOR NOW JUST FIND YOUR PARTNER AND DISCUSS THINGS. Thank you.
Jesifur was glad she wasn't lassoed, yet. She raised her hand, "Incarcerous, isn't it?" At least that's what she tought, and most the other classmates had said the same.

They are doing the spell using dummies? Why can't they use like...a living animal, that would definitely more interesting.
Victoria looked around the room, trying to find a first through third years students that would be suitable to work with. Hopefully she'll be able to find another Slytherin Snake.
Awww, they weren't transfiguring each other? Eino was a little disappointed but also relieved. He didn't want to accidentally kill someone in Transfiguration class. As he scanned the room, he noticed the Gryffindor boy, August, he had spoken with earlier that week. He was a third year so he wasn't much younger than Eino which was good. Still, he was a muggleborn wizard, after all, so Eino doubted his spell casting ability. Nonetheless, the crossed the room and met the Gryffindor on the opposite side. "Hello," Eino began waving, this time not so close to his face, "Would you like to partner up with me?"
