Transfiguration Lesson II [Inside the Practice Room]
You are not in the classroom today, no, you are in the slightly bigger practice room just down the corridor. As you enter you notice that gone are all the usual things kept there, to be replaced with four rows of plain chairs (no desks). Two rows down the left hand side wall, and two down the right. On the wall above the chairs on the left is a sign that reads "1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th YEARS SIT HERE", and on the opposite wall is a sign that says "5th, 6th & 7th YEARS SIT HERE."
At the back of the room are red and green clothes makers dummies, with spring-loaded bases, arranged all higgledy piggledy rather than in uniform rows. In the big space in front of the them, and between the rows of chairs, stands Professor Magnus. With her hands clasped behind her back, and a smile on her face, she is ready to greet you as you arrive.
SPOILER!!: Classroom Layout for those that wish to know
OOC: Class will start at about 5pm, so for now please just have your character enter the lesson and take their seat in the correct place. No excessive chatter though, please!
Minerva walked into well what she thought was the practice room, but is the classroom for this lesson. Wow no tables or desks Minerva thought. "Hello Professor" Minerva smiled and said as she walked near. Minerva loved the first lesson and couldn't wait for the second. She then walked to the section marked for first years and saw Violet. So she hurried over and sat next to her friend.
Violet saw Minnie run to a seat next to her and smiled at her. 'I wonder what we're doing...' Violet beamed.

He looked around the room, then located the area he was supposed to sit in, and made his way there, giving the professor a small smile and a "Hello, professor" as he passed. As usual, he didn't bother looking for anyone he knew to sit near, since he rarely found that, and he would rather sit somewhere he wouldn't be noticed anyway. So he just settled in the back, as close to the door as he could.
Violet cocked her head to the side as Ashley ran to the back. She smirked and motioned for him to come sit next to her. Ashley'd be lonely! And Violet liked sitting next to him, he was great to talk to!
Cass walked into the room, out of breath and slightly haggard, she didn't know - or rather, she forgot, that the transfiguration class wasn't going to be at the classroom, but here...which of course. she didn't know where either as she had never had the chance to use the practice room.
She walked into the room and the first thing that she noticed as a gap...as huge gap between the chairs, and the next were dummies loads of them....what was going on? "Good day, Professor." Cass said politely with a bright smile, then she looked around and walked over to the left side of the room, taking a seat on one of the many vacant seats as she waited for the lesson to start.

Elise skipped into the Transfuguration classroom, but then she realized that it wasn't there. Strange. Poking her head into the next classroom, she found Professor Magnus and a few other people in it.
Walking in, she realized that everyone was -SEPERATED! Gasp!
"Gooooooooood day, Professor Magnus!" she giggled.
Taking a seat on the left side, she sat as close to the middle as she could.
Isabelle greeted everyone that entered with a bright smile and a cheery "Good morning!" Watching as each student took their place in the correct seat, she made mental note of the fact there seemed to be an awful lot more younger ones than there were older ones. Hmmm. Might need to rearrange the groupings when we start.

Wait, with spring-loaded bases? She looked quizzical again. What was going to happen here?
"Good day, Professor" she said, "What are we going to do today?" Sarah couldn't resist asking her right away.
And one was already asking a question. Such inquisitive minds. Tapping the side of her nose, Issy grinned. "You'll find out soon enough, Sarah."

"Good Day Professor Magnus. I hope your lesson today will be more interesting and I can enjoy it." she greeted Professor Magnus friendlily.
She sat at the 1st year bench. Raven also noticed that so many dummies.
What will we do today?
That comment came across as meaning the last lesson wasn't interesting. Lovely. Although that probably wasn't how the child meant it. Still, Issy smiled back and nodded her head. "I hope you do enjoy it."

"Good day professor, how are you today?" Then Isabelle took a seat in the back row of chairs.
Such politeness. "Isabelle, hello. I'm well thank you for asking. I trust you are, too." But she wouldn't blame them if they were tired. She did tend to schedule her classes for early in the day.
"We'll just wait for a few more stragglers - hopefully some more older students, otherwise you fourth years will have to move over to this side," she smiled, gesturing to the right. Keep the balance in numbers and all, considering they were going to be pairing up.

Alyssa walked into the larger classroom and noticed that the layout for this lesson was different. She looked over to where she was supposed to sit and noticed that Minerva and Violet were already sitting there. She greeted the Professor who was standing nearby, "Good morning Professor Magnus", Alyssa said with a smile and then quickly went over to where her friends were sitting. "Mind if I join you?" Alyssa asked before sitting down.
Louisa walked into the classroom slowly and stopped frozen at the colored dummies and professor Magnus standing there with a smile on her face. Louisa knew that this smile usually meant; a very weird and childish idea was due this lesson. Had the professor not seen her, the girl would've backtracked her steps and gone back to sleep. Being the case, she smiled, "Hi Professor." On to sit on the correct bench.
Are they going to be seamstresses? Please let it be the case and not something...childish.

"Thank you, Mam. I really enjoyed the first transfiguration lesson." she smiled back to Professor Magnus. Can't wait for the lesson!! Maybe she will learn about how to transfigure human become an animal? perhaps

Isabelle smiled at the professor as more older students came and sat down. "I am doing fine as well," she said with a bright smile. There really were barely any older students at all. That wouldn't be good.
Oh so the fourth years might be coming over and joing the older students. Make them feel special.
August entered the classroom after many of the other students had already arrived. He had to make a pit stop down in the Great Hall to eat a litte something for lunch. He scrambled into the room and quickly took a seat on the left hand side of the room where the sign for 1st-4th years were to sit.
He eyed the dummies in the back of the room and then the older students across from them. Hopefully they wouldnt be dueling the older kids.
Ellie walked into the Practice room instead, and over to....the right side, apparently. Actually, it made her feel quite elite. Did that mean she was finally an upper-classmen? A fifth year? Heh.
Smiling at the thought, she took a seat.

Alrighty, it seemed that they weren't going to have too many older students in today. No matter, the fourth years would be equally as good at the spell she had planned, she was sure.
Isabelle took a step forwards and clapped her hands together to call for quiet. "Okay everyone, we'll get started. As you can see we are not in the classroom today, it was a little too small for what I have planned." They needed space. Lots of space. "You'll also notice that you're divide into two groups. That is because there will be two spells learnt today. One for the younger students, and a slightly trickier one for you older students," Isabelle smiled at the small number of kids to her left.
"Although we are a bit lopsided with numbers, so could all you fourth years please move to the opposite side?" she gestured with her hands as if she was sweeping them across herself. "Alright then, first spell and first question to you 1st through 3rd years - can you tell me what 'Diffindo' does, please?"
OOC: Lesson has started. Please don't RP your character entering late or I will take points. Just act as if they were there the whole time. And please only answer a question that is directed towards your age group. Thanks.
Eino had been watching the door anxiously, hoping no older students would come in. He wanted to be in the big kids side of the room, and maybe he would transfigure a student into his very own dragon. He excitedly moved to the other side of the room, smiling at professor Magnus as he did. When he was finally settled he looked around and realized that he stood out like a sore thumb; he was much shorter than most of the older students. Nonetheless, he was in the cool kids side of the room, so he was happy. When the professor asked a question his hand jerked, he almost raised it but realized he no longer was in the younger students side. So, he just waited and listened as their answered the question.

Ooooh! Daichi was looking forward towards this lesson when the Professor started to speak. He listened to the first question and after some thinking he raised his hand.
" It cuts things, Professor!" he said, his hand high up and he shook his hand. The second year made a mental note to thank Evan for telling him to check his books before school. It was much easier to know some things than being clueless in class.

Diffindo. Simple enough.
Nora raised her hand when professor Magnus finished speaking. "It divides something into two, it cuts or..." uhm... her voice trailed off as she lowered her hand. The professor probably got the idea, riiiight?
Looking away with her cheeks looking like they'd been badly sunburnt, she also wondered what was the reason they needed a bigger room. What were they going to do?

Hand raised, Thea had perked up since the lesson had finally began. 'It simply cuts things, professor.' Thea lowered her hand, wondering if she'd need to take notes this lesson as it seemed it would be more of a practical one..

Nikolas looked at the door every once in a while because there weren't many older students and therefore the fourth years had moved on to the their side, the older students side. Professor Magnus started the class and the question was directed to the 1st and 3rd years so, he didn't have to worry about it. But he still wondered what spells were they going to learn today.

Marie sat there next to Evelyn wondering where in the world all the older students were. Did they think they didn't need to be in class just because they were older? And where was that useless Headboy of theirs? Really, what kind of example was he setting here? A BAD one that's what kind.
She watched as one fourth year made his way across the room. Really, only one? Maybe the others were too scared to come sit with the big kids.
Come on over little ones... we don't bite... hard.
Sitting back with her legs stretched out in front of her and her arms crossed over her chest Marie waited for the professor to ask a question directed at the older students.
This could prove to be a very boring class with all this waiting around.
Isabelle sat there and watched as all the fourth years came to join the awesome upperclassmen. They just got lucky, those little fourthies. Diffindo. Isabelle nearly raised her name before remembering that this was directed to only the first through third years. Oh well, Isabelle sat and waited for a question to be directed towards the upperclassmen.

Sierra glanced over at the older students. Well, pin a rose on their nose. They got to learn something advanced and complex, while she'd likely be stuck doing another round of teacups turning into mice. Why was she lumped in with the babies anyway?!
Scowling, she raised her hand. "Diffindo does three things--it rips, divides, and separates an object," she said. Pretty gruesome-sounding for such a simple spell. "...into parts," she added as an afterthought. Just to make it clear that there was a purpose.
'It is a spell...', Gwendolyn began saying and tried to remember what she had learned about it last year. 'I think it rips, divides, and separates objects into parts.'Yeah... and that's pretty much all I know, she thought and looked around.
Still glimpsing at the dummies, she wondered what they'll do with them. Do we get to practice each spell on them?! That would be interesting!
Orr watched the forth years move to the other side of the room as she raised her hand to give the answer, "Prof. Magnus, Diffindo is the incantation of the severing charm. The spell can cut, rip and basically separate objects into parts."

Gideon's mind had momentarily wandered the dummies as the awaited the last of the arrivals, wondering what was to be happening that involved the colored items. He focused his attention back on Professor Magnus as she started the class for real, listening to the woman explain the reasons for the split.
Grrr they were being made to switch sides which meant he and Kurumi were going to have switch sides away from Selina dealing with the younger students. With a gentle sigh, he grabbed his stuff and moved over to the right side of the room as the Professor had instructed, listening to the answers that were given from the first, second and third years as he took a new seat.

Selina watched as the Professor made all of Selina's friends all pick up their materials and move to the other side of the room. Sometimes she really hated being a year behind all of her friends. It was as if she was on the same wave length as them and then something like this would happen and all of the sudden she was pulled from the same wave length as them. Was this how things were always going to be? She hoped not.
When she asked who knew what diffindo was Selina wanted to scream. She learned this in Charms last year, "Its a severing charm, ma'am. Its often mistaken for transfiguration.
