To meet the diverse food desires of the guests, the long buffet table has been split into two sections: One for the living, and one for the dead. Staff and students have a large range of pies, puddings, meats and fish dishes, and not to mention desserts. None of the food is up to Hogwart's usual standard, but it's still edible none-the-less. As many will know, ghosts cannot eat; but they do say that smelling the food is as good as it gets for a ghost. Therefore, on the opposite side of the buffet table is a diverse range of rotting, mouldy food. Is that a hamburger or a slice of pie? Trying to find out for yourself isn't an encouraged idea.

Helena noticed several students wearing the colors of the other houses and she passed by them as she floated towards the end of the buffet table that contained the food for them - the ghosts.
Now where were the others? Did they not know that Sir Nicholas wanted everyone to mingle with the living?
"Joking or not you're taking the money. Call it a welcome back to school gift if you want. You can buy something for yourself... from me." Heck Marie was in such a happy mood she didn't care if Mia spent the money on Nik. She just wanted everyone to feel as happy as she did.
Putting an arm around Mia, Marie grinned at her. "Glad I can be of service to you." Although she hadn't had to beat anyone up for Mia since... well since she broke Matty's nose.
Removing her arm from Mia she looked at her friend with a playful frown. "You saying I don't know self control? I think I control my self quite well thank you very much." She knew just how to control her fist so it made just the right impact allowing it to break a nose. "We don't have to worry about that though. I told Matty I wouldn't become an auror. I figured it was only fair since he left S.A.M. for me. I know how I hated worrying about him. I don't want him to go through the same thing. Besides, if I'm going to be his wife I want a career that is going to allow me to travel and be with him."
Okay so Matty didn't actually propose to her but he did say he was thinking about how he wanted to marry her. That alone told her that there would be a proposal in her future... hopefully.
Well there was no way Mia was arguing with Marie, so she merely gave her a smile and nodded her head. She had no idea what she would buy but she was sure that she would think of something.
Mia couldn't help but laugh. "You can be a little scary at times. Did you know that?" Merlin help anyone that got in her friends way. She would leave a trail of broken noses a mile long.
Before Mia could even come up with a response to that, Marie prattled on about Matty and someone called Sam and how she wasn't going to become an auror because she was going to be his wife instead.
Woah!!
Wait a minute.
The whole getting married thing didn't bother Mia so much because she was expecting that's what her friend was getting at. "Why are you two giving up stuff just because you're talking about marriage?"
If that's the way things were done then she wasn't getting married.

SACRILEGE.
She immediately muttered a curse of mythical enchantments right at her. "And to you!--I curse your great great great granddaughter, mark my words, Hufflepuff! MARK MY WORDS! THE SEEDS OF JUSTICE WILL FALL UPON YOU ALL." She then sighed melodramatically.
Okay if it wasn't bad enough that this grazy girl had started yelling and throwing things at Marie, she was now yelling things at HER. And cursing people in the process. And quite frankly Mia had had enough of it. She had done nothing wrong to start with.
"And to you Slytherin..." she called out, picking up some sort of pie with lots of cream on the top. "THIS PIE IS GOING TO FALL ON YOU!" And with that, Mia threw the pie straight at the crazy girls head.

"Hey!" he said taken by surprise and frowning but not able to struggle too much with the quidditch player who had some height in him. The 4th year soon found himself in front of Kurumi, and relaxed somewhat when Josh let him stop but kept his hand on his shoulder.
"Oh hey Kurumi," he greeted with a smile trying to ignore the older boy's touch for now.

*ahem*
Okay no Ravenclaws...back to the topic.
''But do not them being there already ruin people's apetite?'' The Gryffindor preferred the word 'people's' instead of 'our' since he could not tell they made him lose his apetite. To be honest, they looked insteresting and he did not feel affected by their sight. He could still eat whatever he wanted.
Mmmm...the smell. Josh seemed to be considering the idea for a moment or so after the younger lion mentioned it. ''Perhaps.'' he said finally bending down to pick up the green meat-bread thing from the floor and he smelled it. As a reaction, of course, his face made it obvious that it was not pleasant. ''Well...the smell...'' he looked around if there was a ghost because if those were really for ghosts, he did not want to offend any ''...is nothing like my girlfriend's perfume. You believe they would enjoy that.''
Not that he wanted them to enjoy Evelyn's perfume instead.
Looking over the boy's (Gideon) shoulder back to the rotten food, Josh was about the place the green, mouldy thing that he could not figure out if it was a spoiled meat or bread, when his dark brown eyes spotted Kurumi nearby....with flowers in her hand. A sight, for some reason, that made him smirk.
Still holding the nastily inedible looking, mouldy food in his hand, he placed his other hand on the younger lion's shoulder and forced him to walk over the Pretty Prefect Princess over there with himself. It was not a long way anyway since she was nearby the undefinable food-like stuff side of the Buffed Table. ''Hey, pretty!'' he exclaimed cherfully waving the spoiled food in his hand and meanwhile unnecessarily making the boy stop at where he was by pressing his hand on his shoulder. He had not killed the boy, right? Meh. He looked fine.
Since the boy looked fine, Josh focused his attention back at Kurumi then at the flowers in her hand. ''For me?''
*smirk*
Kurumi's nose wrinkled when she saw, more like smelled, what Josh had in his hands. That WAS food for the ghosts, right? Not something that had been set out for the living to consume...she sure hoped not. She really needeed to get back to work practicing making her oven in the Transfiguration practice room before everyone starved.
Her cheeks flushed when Josh called out the word pretty, but she assumed that it was about the flowers. After all, Kurumi always considered herself rather plain - not that she was really complaining. "They are for Sir Nicholas," she said with a faint smile. Sorry Josh, no gift for you today. "We use these flowers as an offering to our ancestors in Japan." Not that Josh really needed her to go into the history of the flowers, unless he wanted her to. "Y-You haven't seen Sir Nicholas yet, have you?" it was his Deathday Party after all.
Kurumi then peeked around Josh when she heard someone else call her name and a small smile formed. "Hello Gideon," she said before looking down at the ground. She probably should apologize for what happened in dance class...

She turned around and readjusted her wig.
Ahem ahem.
Then her smug and depressed face appeared through the cracks of eternal darkness, yet again. "Boo? You MOCK the dead?" she said in a monotone and then immediately swiped her hand across the girl's mouth for a quick second.
"I curse you! I CURSE YOU! MAY YOUR VOICE DROWN IN THE GLOOMY FIELDS OF RE-PU-DI-A-TION!" She picked up her moldy bread and started throwing crumbs at this now-cursed girl.

Alright maybe just a little scary.
"I wouldn't call it giving up stuff Mia. We're just both willing to do what we know will make the other one happy. He knows how scared and worried I was after that attack two summers ago. He doesn't want me to have to ever worry about him like that again. The same as I don't want him to worry about me for putting myself in danger as an auror." Sure, they knew there would always be some sort of danger in their lives, they just weren't going to go putting themselves in the line of danger on purpose.
OH! NO! SHE! DIDN'T!
Spinning around Marie GLARED at the NUTTER that was known as the Slytherin captain. She dared to throw moldy food at Marie AND attempt to curse her! Did this...head case not know who she was messing with?
Apparently not.
And not only was she messing with Marie, she was messing with Mia too. Wrong thing to do girly. No one messes with Marie's friends and gets away with it. She didn't care who they were. She had stomped on the foot of a professor before, she was NOT afraid of some crazy girl with a captains badge.
"You wanna throw food do you." Picking up that nasty, disgusting bowl of mud/pudding she flung it right at the nutter's face. "The next thing I throw won't be as soft as this." No, she would be throwing her fist right at the girls nose if she insisted on acting like some crazed maniac. Or maybe she would smash that rotting pumpkin on her head.

Was she scared of him? Jonathan hasn't done anything to her. Why does she look like she had seen a ghost? His eyebrow raised "No really. I'm not much in a hurry to eat." he smiled "I can't decided which one to try" he added. True, he can't decided yet. He doesn't want to take one of each and not be able to finish half of his plate. It'll just go to waste. Jonathan gestured his arm for the girl to cut in line. He really doesn't mind if she does. Besides, she kind of looks hungry anyway.
Speaking of ghosts...

Jonathan saw one of the ghosts pass by them. He smiled at her. "Good day." he greeted her. Ghosts around Hogwarts are mostly nice. Some just liked to scare other students as a form of teasing. But other than that, they're really nice.

Kurumi followed the specter's gaze over to the dance floor and felt her stomach tie in knots. Dancing...right. "Oh, thank you," she said timidly. Maybe Sir Nicholas would be coming over this way soon. Kurumi wasn't too keen on dancing at the moment. She picked up the arrangement and adjusted one of the white flower's position just a tad. "Helena, do you...know how to dance?"
Innocent question really.

New people's apetite might be disturbed. Well...to be honest, Josh thought, to make someone lose his/her apetite they needed to do better than just spoiled food. Or maybe it was just him. He did not know but if he had been a transfer student or a firstie he still would not lose his apetite anyway. ''Well...those new people. They have a lot to learn, right?'' he could remember the not-so-nice conversation with a girl in the common room. Especially she had a lot to learn. That girl was weird. ''Don't you think girls in our house are a bit weird?'' he asked and did not care if it was random or had no relation to the previous topic ''Well...i know girls are in general hard to understand but the ones in our house...'' Yeaaa those lionesses ''...i don't know how to describe them.''
Meanwhile he still had his hand on the boy's shoulder and might still be making him suffer that pressure without realising it.

For a split moment, of course, Josh had realised the girl was looking at the spoiled food-thing in his hand. Was she disgusted? Perhaps yet she did not show it so the boy could not be sure. Or maybe she was not disgusted at all which proved his point that these were not enough to make someone lose their apetite.
Whatever...
...the flowers were not for him. ''Well...of course! I am not dead yet!'' he said with a smirk...still...he wanted a gift and not having it was disappointing. And yea, only Josh Carter would expect a gift for himself in someone else's party. Heheehhe. As the lioness explained the meaning of the flowers, Josh nodded in understand as he did everytime he learned something new. An offering to their ancestors in Japan. Now that made him wonder...what did they offer to their heroes in Japan? Hehehehe. ''Okay no flowers. But you still have something for me, right?''

While still making that puppy eyes to Kurumi in order to get a gift for himself from her, those eyes widened when the boy saw who Kurumi was talking to. Or what Kurumi was talking to. No no no that was rude. No what...just who.
A ghost!!! And a lady one!!!
And since she were a ghost she could tell him if what Gideon had said was right.
''Hey, there dead beauty!'' So the Gryffindor boy said loudy so he could make sure that she heard him. ''May i ask you something?''

Watching Kurumi react, Gideon was pretty sure she was as turned off by the item that Josh still held in his hand as he was. Thankfully the older boy wasn't using that hand to hold him in place. He listened to what she explained out the flowers she held, curious by it yet remembering things from his own families' traditions. When she spoke to him, he couldn't help but notice her seem apprehensive or self-conscious for some reason he couldn't quite put his finger on.
Gideon was tempted to question if everything was ok when he noticed as the Grey Lady...Helena approached the table. The fourth year offering her a polite smile but no words as he couldn't think of anything and Kurumi was already speaking to the ghost. As he overheard his fellow fourth year's question to Helena, he began to have some clue as to Kurumi's behavior.
Was she still upset about the dance lessons?
His attention drawn back however as Josh spoke to him as Kurumi was distracted with the spectral being. Girls?...of their house?...weird?"Well I wouldn't know about that," he answered truthfully. Granted he was around them all the time just as the previous years but he didn't often deal one on one with any of them. "I don't really spend time with any much other then Kurumi and Selina and they're alright," he remarked quietly as they moved together.
His mind wandered again, this time as Josh spoke to the ghost himself. Not that he could fully forget the older lion was there as he was still held in place. Gideon raised an eyebrow as he registered the question, a part of him wondering what it was about and perhaps if it dealt with their earlier discussion.

She was going to chew off her friends' ears that told her that she should wait to eat until the party. Now she hungry and all she was left with was rotten food... she was not pleased.

You all told me to not fill up on food today because I'd be full for tonight, but now I have no...." She paused and got a good look at Violet, "Hey you look pretty tonight. I like the clip."
Then she shook her head and put her head in her hands, "I'm going to die. I'm SO hungry."
Nikolas finally arrived at Sir Nearly Headless Nick's party . He has never been in a party with ghosts and this was interesting so, stepping into the room he saw a lot of people already there and ghosts as well. He looked around, everything was...black, well it was a death day party after all and where was Fee? They agreed to meet here but he couldn't find her. Hmm, not good.
While waiting for her, Nikolas quickly moved to the buffet table and thanks Merlin it was split into two. Good food and...rotten food. He eyed for a while the rotten food, this was what the ghosts liked? Good choice. Note the sarcasm.
He looked back at the people to see if Fee has arrived but...no. So, he grabbed a puddin and waited for the blond slytherin to come.

Fee made her way to Sir Nicks party. The girl was quite excited she had never beenn to a ghosts party before. But this was really cool and it was around her birthday, how much better could it get?!
Entering the party the Slythern looked out for Nikolas, they had said they would meet up here.It was freaky how fast time went on,the two hadnt met up since the carnival. That was so weird. As the blonde looked around she noticed the nice buffet there. It looked delishou.Well most of it.
Approaching the buffet the fourth year noticed the rotten food on there,oh my glitter did ghosts really eat stuff like that?Ewww.Gladly there was normal food too.The girl grabbed a cupcake for herself and was about to turn around as she noticed a familiar had standing there. With a smile on her face she approached her friend."Fouuuund you",the girl chuckled as she tipped Nikolas on the shoulder,"hopfully you havent waited for too long already?"

This was a bit awkward. Standing there, alone, looking at other people...where was Fee? Girls could take forever to dress up. That definitely was an advantage of being a man, didn't need too much to look good because Nikolas always looked good. With the pudding in his hand, he grabbed a bit with his spoon and stuffed it in his mouth. It was really good!
He finished his puddin and grabbed another one. Hehe. After all he had to do something while he waited for Fee to come and just as he has grabbed his second one, someone poked him. Nikolas turned around to see no other but Fee! finally. "Well! look who's here" he said "I feel like I've been waiting forever" he teased "Oh and you look really pretty" he admitted. Was worth the wait? yes.

Kelsey went over to the buffet table and started piling her plate up with food. She stuffed her mouth with all the food. She loved it here. Then, she went to play bowling.

Fee chuckled as she noticed Nikolas grabbing his second pudding,he must be really bored.Poor boy.But then again it took some time to get ready, sooo many decions to make before you looked perfect.Girls didnt have it as easy as boys after all.
"Ohhh look who couldnt wait to see me",the girl winked.t kinda seemed to have gotten their thing, teasing eachother about everything and everyone.Hehe."You know i am only a few minutes late",she laughed,"dont be such a baby."Guys should rather appreciate it that girls made such great effort instead of colplaining about waiting.Yes.Haah,and there it was.Aww."Thank you",the Slytherin smiled sweetly,"you dont look too bad yourself."Hehe.

Seriously this food was amazing! Whoever did this food should get an award for best chef.
He did not dare to look at the rotten food, it would make him throw up so he turned his back to that special part of the table. Looking that Fee was already here finally, he didn't look like a loner..."I think is the other way around" he teased "A few minutes? You girls think five minutes are five hours" he said pointing at her with his spoon "That's why it is good to be a man, we don't have much to do and still we look great" Well...HE looked great. Nikolas complimented Fee and smiled back when she did too "I know, I always look good" he said in a matter-of-fact tone. "So, why you've been up to?" he asked "Haven't seen you around lately"
