Isabelle raised her hand. "I know that especially in th past around the time of the dark lords reign, Slytherin house was known as the bad guys, mean guys, dark and evil people. We need to show them that isn't what Slytherin is. We have are cunning and brave traits like the Gryffindors. We are smart like the Ravenclaws. We are loyal and sometimes even caring like the Hufflepuffs. Lets show them that we aren't the bad guys. We may have mean sides that are a little meaner than other houses. But we are just as good as them and we need to show it," Isabelle said with a smile.

She waved at Nicky as he finally made it down for the meeting. She gave him a big smile. She wasn't ready to move from under Regulus's protective arm just yet, but she would make it a point to talk Nicky later.

Now that was more along the lines of what Sierra had been thinking. Punish the offenders, not the victims. Yup. She breathed in a sigh of relief as the stench was banished from the room. Her gaze shifted toward the Quinn girl--Aurora, she'd found out from classes. The girl seemed worthy enough, even if she had just earned herself a detention. Maybe they'd bump into one another one of these days...

No one seemed to be eating yet...at least, not until she had took that split moment to look the other way and became distracted.
Salander seemed to have taken care of it though, however, Evelyn had witnessed the little event with Aurora and the new girl. Did...did the first year just set off a stinkbomb? In the presence of the Head Boy and Girl, AND her Head of House? Just what was going through her mind when she did that?
It seemed she could only become more and more annoyed as this meeting went on. Something had to change. She listened to all those who answered Salander's question.
They all seemed to be on the right track. Losing points, the behavior of the Slytherin house these last few days, ground rules, and ways to get their points (and pride) back. "Yes. This meeting is in fact about our loss of points and behavior. However, we'll be discussing ways of getting these points back as well as a few other topics. You will not be allowed to eat until we all have a full understanding of how to behave in our classes and as Slytherins." They couldn't change the past. Only the future. Standing up, she eyed everyone to make sure they didn't even think about eating as of yet. No, they had to wait.
Looking towards Sierra, Evelyn stood up and raised a brow, not at all amused. "Yes, you do." She herself may have not liked it, quite noticeable by the way she scrunched up her nose every now and then, but it was all in the learning process. "This, right here..." She gestured to the girl that had thrown the stinkbomb, as well as Aurora. "Is just an example of the behavior we are talking about. You all should learn right here and right now that your house, whether you like the people in it or not, is your family here at Hogwarts. One of you messes up, everyone in your house pays the price."
"However, just because we may have 'tumbled down the hill' a little, that does not mean we are so weak where we can't help eachother get back up and start climbing again with even more determination than before. We, as Slytherins, are not weak. Our scratches and bruises are what makes us stronger and united. Call it self-preservation or whatever you will, but we learn from our mistakes. Slytherin's history has shown that we are just as smart as Ravenclaws, just as loyal and hardworking as Hufflepuffs, and just as brave as Gryffindors." Without the stupidity part attached. "Perhaps even more so. Yet in these last few days, I don't even know where we stand. We have shown we are lower than the bottom of the list. Some of us are making poor decisions, and others are just standing idly by watching it all unfold in front of their very eyes or even joining in themselves. And that...that effects everyone's image here in Slytherin."
Taking a deep breath, she leaned against the table with her hands, looking around. "While I'd hate to see our chances at showing we are a great and amazing house go down the drain, we can't move forward until we realize how we can achieve doing so. So, what do you all think? How can we build our points back up and at the same time, show that the house of Salazar Slytherin is worthy of being respected as a house...as well as all of us individually?"
Wait...what?! Was that an unamused expression from her friend?! Her teammate?! ...but Evelyn, we're supposed to be friends! Sierra frowned a little herself but otherwise made no additional comments about the stench.

She cast a remorseful eye on their Head of House, not wanting what she was about to say to offend the older woman. "...Psychopaths. Is anything we do going to be good enough?"
Hearing that comment, Sierra smirked and then laughed very softly to herself. She didn't necessarily agree with what had been said, but she found it amusing nonetheless.

She was just about to YELL at them food-eaters, but it seemed Sal had a good eye, and got to them before she could. Way to go, Sal. Way to go.
And since she was too busy eying up the food and the people eating it, she missed the whole dungbomb throwing. Luckily, Sal and Lafay (when did she get there!?!?!) took notice and.. seriously.. Destiny just needed to eat chocolate.
Stroking her fake moustache some more, she leaned back in the seat as Evelyn talked. And talked. And talked. She had to suppress a snort at the mention of tumbling down a hill. There were all Slytherins in the room, they all pushed eachother. But, she wasn't going to mention that. No. She was going to sit there and think of ways of building their points back up. And of course, a way to make the Slytherin house become respected.
Her hand shot up in the air. "Profess-- I mean, Evelyn!" How EMBARRASSING. "I know what we have to do!'' Leaning forward, she lowered her hand and her voice. "We need to take out the competition."
No other houses meant they would get all the housepoints. It was perfect.
"Well, heck yeah," Sierra said, sitting up and casting a look in Destiny's direction. Taking out the competition? "Now we're talking..." Maybe they could start with the Puffers. After all, the kitchen had already been closed. Didn't they live there or something? Or nearby?
Again, she smirked, though. She knew they couldn't just take out the competition. She was getting more amused by the minute, though.

Showing up to classes late seems to be our biggest trouble at the moment. If you see someone still asleep while you know they have a class, please...wake them up. Nothing says 'We Don't Care' more than showing up to classes late. I understand that some of us are still getting used to the giant castle and trying not to get lost, so if you need to, pair up with an older student who can show you around. We have something called Serpent Sidekicks here in Slytherin house that you can sign up for which is pretty much older students pairing up with younger and new students. There is no shame in asking for help." In fact, she made a mental note to sign up later to help out.
"Also please, and I can't stress this enough, read up on what the rules are for each class you take. This will kill us in points also if we don't follow them. Speaking of classes, participating in lessons and doing our homework is what will earn us our major points. If you can't make it to a lesson, you still have the opportunity to do the homework and trust me when I say this...it won't kill you to take an hour out of your day to do your homework. Some of them may seem tedious to do, but for the sake of Slytherin house, do it anyways." Running a hand through hair, she glanced over to Lafay for a moment before continuing on.
"However, like some of you mentioned, we can also ask Professors if they need any help with anything. This is another way we can gain our house points, but don't be disappointed if you don't receive any. I'm rather sure the Professor will remember you taking time out of your life to help them in some way or another, and that puts us in the good light instead of the bad. Every little point and good deed counts." And she rather hoped they didn't complain if a certain person at this school told them to cut the grass with safety scissors.
"If you don't feel up to helping Professors, we also have our sport teams here at Hogwarts. If you've signed up for quidditch, good luck to you all at tryouts. If you aren't, than come on over to the stands and cheer for your team. If you're not a quidditch fan and more into sports where you can't be knocked unconscious, you can check out the rules for our gobstones team. Anyone is welcome to join gobstones, there are no tryouts, but I strongly suggest reading and memorizing the rules if you feel like joining in. Slytherin has won the Quidditch Cup last term and have very strong standings in the Gobstones tournament and might I add...the victor of these events receives a certain amount of points."Wink wink. Perhaps that would get their attention? They needed more Slytherin players for Gobstones.
"As for respect, there is a saying 'Treat others the way YOU want to be treated." Have they heard of it? "You treat someone like they're dirt, then you're going to be treated like dirt in return. This brings up the concept that one poor action from a Slytherin student reflects those of the entire house. Besides, if I hear a Slytherin is mistreating another Slytherin, or any student for that matter, you'll have to answer to us." Us being her, Salander, and Lafay. That was just how it was. Taking a deep breath, she gave a small glance to Salander before finishing up. "This is all just common sense. Don't speak out of turn, don't throw stinkbombs..." She was EYING people. "Don't give the Professors any reason to take points, participate in lessons and do your homework, and most importantly...respect others. The house of Salazar Slytherin should, above all others, know how to do these simple tasks. We are Slytherins. We are ambitious. We are cunning. We are smart and brave people, and everything in-between. Let us show those other houses that we have what it takes to win and be the best. They won't stand a chance if we work together on this."
Taking another short breath, Evelyn may have actually smiled a little bit, letting all of what she said sink in for a moment before continuing. "Before we start this feast, are there any other suggestions you'd like to give?"
Dear Merlin!
Evelyn had just said more words in the last two minutes alone than Sierra had heard her say in the two years they'd known one another. She tried to hang onto every word, though. It got easier once Quidditch was brought up. Now that was something Sierra could handle. She wasn't the type to go readily help some professor stack their paperwork or something.
She nodded, showing an understanding, but she didn't offer any other suggestions. Evelyn had pretty much covered it all, and she sort of thought Corey might hex anybody who held up the feast any longer.

"Um… I would just like to apologize. First to Miss Stewart-Quinn, I shouldn't have thrown that stinkbomb at you and I'm sorry.
To Evelyn, Salander and Professor Lafay, I know it was disrespectful to disrupt the meeting like that and I apologize.
To the rest of my fellow Slytherins, it was unfair of me to make you smell that. I know most of you probably hate me, and it'll take a lot to get back in your good books, but again I'm sorry."
Blushing, Sky sat back down. Hopefully, her fellow students would forgive her sooner rather than later.

...
Great. Now she had to say something. And she had nothing to apologise for! She didn't stand up but she unfolded her arms and took off her stubborn and angry expression. "Um, yeah. I... I'm sorry too." It took a lot for her to say that... but she did. And she knew she'd still have to do the detention but it didn't seem so bad knowing she probably deserved it... if not for the reason it was given out for. "I erm, shouldn't have yelled and... well... yeah, sorry." Then she shut up and bowed her head.
She still didn't forgive the first year... especially because she was now more embarrassed than she would have liked. A lot more. Luckily she was never one to blush. She just wanted to get out of this meeting, get her detention over with and start earning more points so that people would start... tolerating her. Because it was unlikely that most of them would like her now.
"Michelle!!!Haven`t seen you in a longggggggggg time!Where have you been?"
Hearing that cheerful familiar voice, Michelle looked up to see Kelsey heading her way. Brightening up, she smiled and waved to her fellow snake. "Kelsey!! Good to see you but I've been here all along, didn't you see me?" She has been around, people just need to lower their eye level a bit
"What do you think about the meeting? with professors taking away points and everything.."
Orchid smirked. "So, basically you want us to kiss butt and the ground the teachers walk on." She said more like a statement than a question. "Simple enough."

Who was that yelling? And while Evelyn was trying to talk to them?!
O.o Disrespect...
Pinching the bridge of her nose, she glance back to where the Heads sat, "I think it does matter...It's called incentive..." Sitting back in her chair, the blonde crossed her arms. She really wanted them to do better. This meeting was turning into a disaster, however.
The whole spiel was basically...Let's do what we're suppose to because it's ridiculous for us not to. That was true enough, really.
Destiny actually had a decent idea. Why not take them out?
Too bad that would be illegal...

Bloody hell, I love her statement! Very brilliant! she thought. She give the older girl a calm smile.
Just... bring on the feast yeah? Corey eyed the food mournfully, but he WAS actually paying attention.
For some reason the only thought that was in his head about the whole thing, was that second place was just another name for first place loser. Three houses would be losers, it wasn't that whole 'aw hey you tried' business. That was rot. Just win and that was that.

Salander listened as Evelyn began to speak, addressing each Slytherin's questions and comments. It is a great speech, and covered everything the new Slytherins needed to know and a reminder for older Slytherins that needs a bit more.... prodding. He crossed his arms before him and walked about discreetly, observing the behavior of Slytherins in the room-- some are taking the initiative to suggest how to get their house back on top, others are content to simply listen (and hopefully follow), while others... looks like they need keeping an eye on. He paused right behind the student (Orchid) that mentioned kissing butt "That is a double-edge sword..." he spoke suddenly "Sure anybody can be flattered-- HOWEVER know that many Professors can see right through your intentions, and some might actually take that negatively, an insult to their intelligence so to speak. So instead of that earning you any favors, you might end up being branded as something else." he said flicking his nose at the last word. He didnt have to say it aloud, it was easy to understand what he meant. "If your thinking of doing something and you dont know how that will affect yourself or all of Slytherin-- then dont do it." Meaning dont try any tricks unless you really know how to pull it off with great aplomb.
He turned slightly when the stinkbombers (Sky and Aurora) stood and started to apologize. That made him smile "Apology accepted" at least as far as he was concerned "True courage isnt just one raring for a fight, its owing up to times when you make mistakes, and doing everything you can to correct it."
He then stood beside Evelyn, then clasped his hands behind him "Something for all of you to know..." he eyed the new students "--and something to be reminded of..." he said referring to the returning students "Last term, Slytherin had the rare honor of winning every championship in Hogwarts-- Quidditch, Gobstones and the House Cup. That doesnt happen very often... " if at all. "My birthday comes right around the time of the closing feast. I would really, REALLY want another trifecta-- all three trophies bearing the illustrious name of Slytherin at the end of this term." He looked at each of them intently, a playful smirk tugging the corner of his lips "That isnt asking for much is it? After all, this is the house where the GREAT are sorted into." Now time to prove if they are indeed as GREAT as the Sorting Hat said they are.
"You've all been incredibly patient and cooperative, and now time for your reward." he gestured to the mouth-watering feast before them "Bon Appétit!"

Lana listened intently the Head Boy. She hadn't really met any of the seventh years, but she did admire them. They were knowledgeable and showed power. She liked that.

Wait? Bon Appetit?! YES!
She headed towards the table, after all she was starved.

It was unlike Aurora to look down, and she didn't want to see anyone miss out on the feast. "Have a cookie, crunching on stuff makes you happy." Kimalia giggled while taking a snickerdoodle to eat next.
Desiree listened to the head boy finish his speech. She definitely looked up to their house heads. Like he said they were going to win the house cup, she didn't know how many points she could actually earn for them, but she was not going to lose any. Then all thoughts of points faded away.. FOOD.
She hadn't eaten all day. And they had to stare at this food the whole time. Her stomach grumbling she reached happily for the food, filling up her plate. Smiling even wider she saw a pitcher of pumpkin juice! yum she poured herself a glass and started eating. trying to chew and eat properly like her mom would tell her, even if she was starving.

Wist Ebony started fealing guilty when the awesome inspiring speeches were given. She hadn't lost any points, nor had she thrown the bombs, but she decided that she must have instigated it partly. After all, although Aurora had started it, she had also been involved.
Wist clapped when the food was announced. She would do her best to help SLYTHERIN! She had never fealt that loyal at Durmstrang, maybe because there wer eno houses. But Slytherin was something worth belonging to.
Wist clapped Sky on the back. "Don't worry, they will forgive you." Wist replied. "I bet most of them made mistakes in their first year as well! So...want to be friends?"
Wist had never had any friends at Durmstrang. But this was Hogwarts, and the Slytherins were mostly cool It made all the difference.

Sky was walking towards the food (she'd decided to try to eat after all), when she heard someone ask her she had done it. She turned to see a fellow first year. "She just got on my bad side, and I responded by trying to prank her. I know it wasn't the best decision, but that's what happened." Sky replied.

Sky smiled. "Thanks. And of course I want to be friends!" she replied. Sky could always use a good friend, and she could tell she and Wist were going to get along great.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy food time! Tori nodded respectfully at the Head Boy's speech and then hurried to grab a sandwich before Corey downed them all in one gulp. She could easily imagine the boy just picking up the sandwich platter and tilting it straight into his mouth.
Yikes. "Thanks for the feast, Professor, and Head Boy and Head Girl," Tori remembered to add before biting into her croissantwich.

Geraldine nodded to the head boy's speech...He was really right, we need to win, because we Slytherins are the GREATEST!!!... Geraldine's patriotic thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the mention of eating time!!!...CHOCOLATES!!!!..She would've dashed to the chocolate fondue, but she didn't want to look so eager and unladylike, so just a fast walk would be fine for her.
After deciding what fruits she would put in her plate she smothered them (or probably drowned them in chocolate, then contentedly went back to her seat and enjoyed her wonderful desserts..
