Kurumi sighed. "Well...it was probably a combination of keeping myself in a freezing room working with ice cream and..." But Selina cut her off. Kurumi didn't know where Selina's mind had been traveling, but she hadn't done anything to warrant the I don't want to know statement. At least not as far as the fourth year was concerned.

Thankfully, Kurumi didn't notice Selina wipe her hands on her bed, not that she really would have cared. A simple flick of the wand would fix all of that in no time.

Selina sighed at Kurumi and got off of the older girl's bed. She walked over to her own bed and rolled down the covers to join Kurumi in what seemed like some odd under the covers ritual. Once she was all comfortable Selina turned her head to the side to look at Kurumi and said, "Well get better soon. I wanna go out on the Pitch one day this week with you to break in one of the school brooms for you after our last game."

She really did feel awful after what had happened to Kurumi. The poor thing always seemed to be accident prone in the air and for the past two years seemed to be a constant resident at the Hospital Wing. Poor thing.

Kurumi pulled the covers up tighter around herself when Selina mentioned school brooms. It wasn't odd for Selina to want to talk about Quidditch and flying. In fact, the now fifteen-year-old had actually come to enjoy these conversations and things hadn't seemed THAT bad...until the match against Ravenclaw. Now she was back to square one and about a billion steps back. Heck, even Potions was seeming more appealing now.

"I...I can break in a school broom during flying lessons," she said awkwardly, pulling the covers up a bit more to cover her mouth.

Selina wiggled under the covers and pulled her sheets up over her head for a moment before sighing and throwing them off of her head in exasperation. Too tired to deal with blankets, but she was too exhausted not deal with blankets. Sigh... too much to think about. Blankets.

"Yeah, yeah... you could do that. Of course, we could always just go out and play on the Pitch. Why don't you wanna play on the pitch?"

Kurumi squeaked and rolled her body under the covers a bit, bringing her knees to her chest and chewing on the inside of her cheek just a bit. How was she going to explain this to Selina? She knew the red-head would blow up when Kurumi said what needed to be said, but she couldn't just continue on the term pretending either.

"Because...the only flying I will be doing next term... will be in flying lessons?"

Selina blinked twice at Kurumi when she answered her question about flying. For some reason she swore she heard that the only flying she would be doing would be in flying lessons. That whole concept did not compute in her head. She must have heard her wrong. Perhaps her ears were going because she did not hear that her BEST FRIEND was not going to play Quidditch anymore. That was something that was just not a reality. Especially since Kurumi usually played Seeker. It was just one of those things that did not compute in her head. Odd... no it was more than odd it was not reality.

Selina pulled herself up to a sitting position in her bed to stifle her laughter. Again, it was just a bit too much for her to handle lying down, "I'm sorry... I'm confused." She let out another small chuckle for good measure and asked pointedly, "I SWORE you said that you weren't playing Quidditch next term. But my ears must be going. Weird right?"

Kurumi groaned and decided that she was going to have to pull her covers down a little bit for this conversation. Not much, but just enough that the top part of her lips were now showing and her face wasn't hiding in the shadow from the blanket. "No...you heard right, Selina," Kurumi whispered softly as she wiggled her way a little further up the bed to her head was now properly lying on the pillow.

She glanced around nervously, not knowing if she should look at Selina or not. Shocked Selina was almost as scary as angry Selina which was almost as scary as a transformed Veela. "I...I am going to need to focus more on my OWLs and prefect duties, so I don't think I will be able to play...besides, it's not like the team won with me as a Seeker. I am sure there are players who would do a much better job seeking than I have."

The sound of a penny dropping would have emulated a bomb going off at the awkward silence that engulfed the room once Kurumi finished speaking. On the flip side of the room the redhead was rendered speechless, somewhere between being struck dumb or being simply struck down. She could not even begin to move her lips to formulate a word let alone actually produce any sound. All of the thoughts in her head went down the drain. The only clear thought she could formulate was simply- No Kurumi in Quidditch. She swore her eye might have twitched a bit.

And yet she was still breathing. It was shallow and soft coming in hitches every couple of seconds, but she was breathing. However, brain functioning was gone and done. No thoughts could even begin to describe what was going on in her brain because there was only one thought.

...Kurumi had broken Selina...

Kurumi pulled the covers up a bit more. Merlin...she had broken Selina...she wasn't sure how or why exactly, but she was pretty sure that she had broken the third year. Kurumi hadn't expected her to be so...silent about the whole thing. Blowing up and having more than a few words with her, now that is something that Kurumi had been expecting. A girls' dormitory famous Skylar pep talk about how she had had one too many sardine flavored beans or something...but it didn't come...and this was almost worse.

Kurumi remained very still for a while, not knowing if she should even say anything. She knew that she would have to, especially since the lion seemed to have Selina's tongue at the moment. "S-S-Selina? W-W-What's wrong? S-S-Say something...."

No Quidditch. She wasn't going to do Quidditch.

Her head recycled those thoughts over and over again in her head trying to make sense of all of the lunacy that was currently going on, but she could not come up with anything. The room had gone to a stand still. Nothing else could even function. Basic motor skills? Gone. Breathing? Still there but shallow. Voice? She had none.

As time passed in a very far off place she heard a voice beckon to her. Her eyes did not move from their spot on the wall, but the rest of the room was becoming less and less fuzzy. It was remarkable. Things were starting to move again and Selina could wiggle her toes. Second by second parts of her senses woke up. She felt alive again and now another emotion had taken her place... anger. Sheer and utter anger.

Very carefully she folded her hands over her lap and put up a hand to silence Kurumi who had been talking to her, "I-I'm okay. I'm just trying to see if I understand this correctly. All because of one game where you fell, you are going to give up Quidditch.... this is correct? Okay then. How about this then, huh? Next time you burn something in the Kitchen stop cooking! Next time you fail a test stop studying! Stop trying to be anything BUT mediocre. Because when the going gets tough you give up right? BECAUSE THAT IS HOW YOU ARE LOOKING AT THINGS!"

She let out a sigh, "Merlin, Kurumi. Okay, maybe playing Seeker wasn't your forte. But you are a good flyer. You could play any other position. So what is your hang up then, huh? Where is the brave little lion I know? Because you are being a cowardly lion and even he in the end realizes how much of a coward he is being... I just.. UGH!"

There was the reaction that she had been expecting. It sort of brought a smile to the fourth year's face, knowing that she still knew how her best friend would react to some things. Still, that didn't make Selina's words sting any less. "Yes, but you are not entirely right," Kurumi replied between a few coughs. "It's not just because of one matches...its all the matches." She paused for a moment to try and figure out how best to go about saying this without turning it into a Kurumi pity party. She didn't want pity, least of all Selina's. "I am not mediocre when it comes to Quidditch. In all the matches I have played in, I have yet to bring the team to victory. With so much riding on the Seeker, you all deserve someone who can deliver. I can't." Those were facts, not speculation. Kurumi's record showed that. She was ashamed looking at the record books...one snitch grab. She was surprised that the Gryffindor team hadn't thrown tomatoes at her yet.

Kurumi swallowed again, and turned her head away from Selina. Had she ever told her the reason she had tried out in the first place? Merlin, if Selina thought she was mad now she would be furious after hearing this. "Selina...my reason for even trying out was completely selfish. I wasn't thinking about anyone but myself. I thought that..." Oh boy, here we go. "...that if I made the team I would feel connected to Adam since he loved the sport so much. That is the only reason." She paused. Best to probably keep talking so that Selina couldn't explode just yet. "I've had fun and I've loved being with everyone and feeling like I was a part of something...but just because you attach a horn to a horse doesn't make it a unicorn. You've taught me a lot Selina, turned me in to a fair flyer, but Quidditch just isn't for me. Next term I'll have OWLs on top of my prefecting duties, yearbook, and Gobstones. I can't do it all Selina."

Rose entered the dorm and sat on her bed, looking out of the window. She felt a pounce on her bed and found her cat, Maxine, was now curling into a ball on her bed, purring madly. Rose smiled and smoothed her cat, thinking about when she had got her. Transfiguration...

'Rose!' Lilly sprinted into the dorm Bertie Botts every flavour bean?' she grinned, holding out the packet. Holli sent them to me. She's really nice. Anyone else?' she turned round in the dorm. There were a few girls round who might take up the offer.

Rose jumped, which scared Maxine, which made her jump from the bed and run out of the room. Rose sighed, before turning to Lilly. 'Sure, I'll have one!' Rose grinned, popping one into her mouth. 'Ah, chilli!' Rose grimaced, feeling as if her tongue were on fire. 'Really? You've spoken to Holli? How is she, do you know anything about her? Are she and Rupert going well?' Rose asked, still panting from the chilli.

Ronnie walked into the girls dorm and found exactly who she was looking for. "GUYS!" she yelled, running up to Lily and Rose. She was sure it was Lily....She got onto the bed they were on, panting. "RUPERT'S GETTING MARRIED!" she cried. "This is crazy!" she said.

'I know! Holli told me in her letter. When did you find out?' Lilly asked. 'Exciting and worrying at the same time!'

'Typical. One of the worst flavours you can get. It's better than earwax, I s'pose,' Lilly grinned.

Rose jumped again when she heard Ronnie, before gaping. 'WHAT!? REALLY!?' Rose squealed, jumping up and down on the bed. OMG, they were getting marrrrrrried!

"I found out er.....few days ago? I dunno. Rupert before was all like," she changed her voice all girly for the fun of it, "Oh! I'm so nervous! I'm going to propose! I'm so scared!" she said giggling. "THEN he told me. Yeah it is a bit of both! OH! Is that Bertie Botts you're eating?" she asked curiously.

"YES! They aaaare!" she said excitedly.

'Gosh, that's awesome! Hey, maybe we'll be bridesmaids!' Rose winked, nudging Ronnie. That would be awesome, she had never been a bridesmaid before...

'Pssst, Rose, Ronnie. You are. Holli said in her letter. Me and Violet are flowergirls,' she smiled, happy to reveal this information. 'The garden looks great already, and they'll do it all up for the wedding.'

Rose's mouth dropped. 'Oh my gosh, we're gonna be bridesmaids!' Rose squealed. She was gonna be a bridesmaid! Oh, she was SO looking forward to this now!

"It is!" she said nodding her head. Blimey! Bridesmaids?! "Wow! Bridesmaids! I'd never been one before!" she said grinning.

Selina's mind was reeling. Kurumi couldn't do it all. Well, Selina knew that, but it did not making hearing it out loud any less painful. Of course, she knew Adam was the reason why her best friend joined the team; however, over time, Selina felt at least, that Quidditch became their thing. Selina was the youngest player on the team. She always had been and so there was a disconnect with the older players. She was the baby. So with Kurumi on the team she had a place, a friend. Now things had changed and she felt part of the team, but Kurumi's presence had been the catalyst to her change. Without Kurumi would everything revert back to the way things were? She hoped not... she needed Kurumi. It was selfish, yes, but they were each other's wing men, in a way.

Her blue eyes met violet and she said, "I know that Kurumi. You think I know you can't bend in every which way? You aren't a magician... well you are but those are details, OH IGNORE THE PHRASE." She sighed, this was not coming out right at all, "Look, I know why you joined in the first place. Everyone knew and it started out like that. You know, you trying to keep Adam alive here. Time passed though and Quidditch became our thing. Without you I'm afraid I'm gonna lose something special I had in the sport- you."

She felt so foolish for saying all of these things. Selina loved Quidditch and would always love Quidditch. One person could not change her out look on the sport, but playing without Kurumi would really change the way she played. She was used to the girl sharing the Pitch with her. "I just can't believe you would quit, Rumi. It doesn't seem like you at all. Why are you so afraid of it now? Because you failed? Kurumi... I know this is hard for you to grasp, but people fail. I know you don't, but it happens. That should make you want to fight harder... not give up."

'I've never even been to a wedding, so, me too!' Lilly grinned. 'Do you know when in the summer it'll be, Ronnie?' she asked.

'We're bridesmaids, we're bridesmaids!' Rose chanted, pulling Ronnie up and spinning around the room. Lilly would have to go soon, as the second year dorms were not available to any other years after curfew, but, whatever...
