As you pass by the Greenhouses you come across an area with high stone walls, and through the arch you will find the Student Garden.

Over the summer holidays Professor Bentley has been working hard to reinvigorate the Student Garden. Come and take a stroll down the winding path. As you go around the loop you will notice a variety of new plants, both magical and mundane, but be careful! You never know what to expect.

This Garden is designated for student use, so feel free to come down and practice your gardening skills. Remember to use your protective gear! if you forgot to bring them with you, then there are spares you may borrow from the garden shed along with any gardening equipment you may need.

There are a number of areas of loose soil where students may wish to plant their own favourite plants. Just be sure you return and tend to them regularly, and be sure you don't let the iris's die otherwise Professor Bentley will not be impressed- they are her favourite after all.

Christopher folded over Wisteria's note in his hands, and sat down on a bench near the middle of the student garden. It seemed like so long since the last time they'd talked. They'd had a rather tragic conversation involving Wisteria's friend in the Air Force who'd gone missing. Christopher really hoped she was okay. But hopefully now the conversation would be lighter, and empty of tears. He leaned back, waiting for the tiny Gryffindor girl to join him.

Still wearing her protective gears, Janet went for a walk in the student garden. It was quite empty except for a boy. Knowing how dangerous magical plants can be, she got more and more careful. But the garden was amazing it's hard to believe that some kind of mutant flower might grow there. It was all very colorful and well-cared for.

Ember was bored, she wanted to take a look around Hogwarts and get a feel to the place. She decided to head to the student garden, it had always been a hobby of hers to garden, that and to make trouble. She spotted what appeared to be another first year in the garden, she decided to walk over and introduce her self. " Hey, its a lovely garden isnt it. Im Ember. Ember Weasley. Ravenclaw. First year." She smiled at the girl. She may not be in ravenclaw but she was another prospect of a friend, she didnt mingle with her own house well. So far the only friends she had managed to find were Gryffindor and a Hufflepuff.

Finally. An area where Mordred could be alone. He decided to explore the grounds in the hopes of finding a place where he could relax and read the letters his cousins sent him that morning. He's got 5 cousins who were all studying in Durmstrang, and it was always a thrill to hear from them. He was an only child, and his cousins became the brothers he never had. He got a 6th letter that day though. This one was from his best friend who was studying in the Salem Witches Institute. Mordred sighed and kept all the letters in his pocket.

He sat back and took in the scenery. It was a nice garden, and it was the perfect place wherein he could just relax and be away from the hustle and bustle of the school. A place wherein he could entertain his homesickness and his anger.

"What was that?" he closed his eyes as he remembered Daisy shouting at him. His thoughts then went to Chloe. He sighed deeply and wished he could apparate already. He then remembered the angry face of Chloe's father when he caught them playing tag. He pulled Chloe away from him so hard, as if her arm was about to be ripped off.

"LEAVE MY DAUGHTER ALONE!"

And with those words, Mordred was not able to do anything.

He then remembered his father's pan flute inside his other pocket. He took it out and started to play the instrument. He was disgusted by the sound and threw the flute on the ground.

'Sorry,' she said, a little out of breath, as she had been when she first met Mordred. 'I didn't mean to yell, it just kinda - well came out.' Daisy said awkwardly. 'I'm sorry if I really upset you that much.' Daisy felt guilty. Her first week at Hogwarts and she had already upset someone she barely knew. This was not good.

When she looked at Mordred's sad face she said 'Do you want me to leave?' Daisy did not want to interrupt something private of Mordreds and upset him more.

I've been trying to find answers so that I could finally leave you alone." he said and dropped his arms on his sides. "But I still can't find the answer. This is...beyond magic." he said turning away from Daisy.

He sighed and tried his very best to calm himself down. A few deep breaths and he turned to face Daisy and approached her. "I'm sorry about this. I don't know if telling you the whole story would help. But.." he trailed off shaking his head and looked down at his feet. "If this is making you uncomfortable Daisy, then if you wish to not see me, it's okay." he said as he sat on the bench holding his head ready to tear his hair off his scalp.

'Don't worry,' she told him 'I'm not uncomfortable, just too nosy for my own good...' she trailed off, laughing at herself a little. 'You can tell me the whole story if you like, I promise I won't shout again, or If you want me to leave I will' she said, letting Mordred to choose. Daisy did not really plan to leave if Mordred told her to, she wanted to spy on him, not to be rude, just to make sure he was ok. He looked far too stressed and depressed for and 11 year old boy.

Serena peered into the School Gardens. This was the sixth place she had looked in and if they weren't in here then she was going to give up and get something to eat. Luckily for her, she saw Daisy and Mordred having what looked like to Serena an intimate conversation with each other. She was about to walk away when she saw a small red thing lying on the ground. She walked over to it (trying hard not to be noticed by Mordred and Daisy) and picked it up. It was Mordred's Pan-pipes. She looked at it sadly. Had Mordred dropped it or... She began to ponder what to do with it. Should she give it to him now or later or even just leave it here?

Mordred weighed his options. If he didn't tell Daisy, she would pester him eventually. "7 years of pestering? No way." he thought. So he just chose the other option of telling Daisy. Mordred lets go of his head and sat back. He now looks like he just got out of bed, but just like any boy he didn't care. "You might want to sit down if you want to hear the whole story." he told Daisy.

Before he started he took a deep breath and tried to relax even more.

"Well, as you know Chloe is my best friend. As an only child, I didn't know how to socialize with the other kids until my parents sent me to Charms School and that's where I first met Chloe." Mordred grinned weakly. "She thought something was wrong with me because I don't talk -- unless I was spoken to. Long story short, she was the one who helped me gain my own friends, but beyond all of them she was the only friend I get to trust." he continued as he remembered telling Chloe that he can do magic with his hands. "Chloe became the sister I never had. She's very important to me..." Mordred trailed off. "Her mother's a muggle, and his father's a wizard...a Hufflepuff." he continued as he looked at Daisy's reaction to this. "Her father knows about my ancestors. And being a descendant of the Blacks, that didn't help." he said. "I didn't know that Chloe's father already prohibited her from being friends with me, prior to that incident. Until he caught us playing tag..." Mordred trailed off. "His father yelled at me, told me to leave Chloe alone. He said his family doesn't trust my family." he closed his eyes trying to keep his anger at bay. "Of course my parents heard this incident, and things didn't turn out well between our families. They had to move out to America to permanently cut ties with us."

"Now how would you feel if I'm your best friend, the one you only trust -- plucked out of your life? Wouldn't you feel alone?" he asked Daisy.

Mordred definitely saw that someone was eavesdropping on their conversation. He gestured Daisy not to talk and walked towards a bush. "Who's there?" he called out but saw no one. Convinced that it was just a kneazle wandering around the grounds he went back to the bench to where Daisy was seated. For some reason he felt his pocket and realized that his pan flute was missing. His father's pan flute.

"I am so dead." Mordred grasped his head again. "It's one thing after another!" he exclaimed.

Daisy felt really terrible for him now, she had found him strange when she had first met Mordred, and got to know him more. Maybe it was like Chloe all over again, but not. She must be a constant reminder of the happy life Mordred had once led with this girl.

Mordred remained silent, however he felt lighter somehow. It was his first time to tell the whole story to someone he barely knows. "It's not your fault, really." he said as he took out his handkerchief and offered it to Daisy. She looked so sad and somehow Mordred felt it was also his fault. "I've been writing to her ever since, and today I got my last letter from her." he said as he showed her the parchment. "Her father found out that she was writing to me." Mordred can't help but feel hatred over that man. The way he brands him as evil and the way he disrespected his family.

The Student Garden seems exceedingly peaceful. After a long day, a walk in such cool place with fresh air would hit the spot.

A witch in her first year strolls across the garden. Her dark hair billows as the wind blows. She looks rather elegant with her Italian leather blazer and a pair of slacks. Aiden Heartnett has always fancies the nature. Even though she has not put on her protective gears, Aiden kneels down by the bushes of plants. Some of them are rather harmful...

As she observes the plants and their beauties and uniqueness, a certain plant came to catch Aiden's attention; hellebore. It is not in the first year's syllabus, but Aiden has read about the plant used as an ingredient of the Draught of Peace.

"Yup, it is. I'm Janice, Janice Elizabeth. Hufflepuff, first year. Nice to meet you. So, do you like gardening and stuffs like that?"

It was quiet apart from the soft crooning of the various magical plants around the Herboogy greenhouses. Ella wandered throught the stone arch into a breath-takingly beautiful garden. It was amazing. Ellas eyes widened as she craned her neck, looking around at the plants. Grinning Ella continued down the path.

She took care to stay in the middle of the stone path, not too near any of the plants. She didn't know enough to go and have a proper look. Her plimsoles made no noise as she slowly made her way through the garden. As far as she knew it was only her in here..

'I'm sure you'll be able to contact Chloe some way... I mean her father sounds like a seriously mean and sneaky man, but i'm sure...' Daisy said, her mind on a way to keep Mordred in contact with his friend. 'Don't worry, we'll think of something.'

Daisys mind was now buzzing with ways to keep Mordred and Chloe in contact. 'Why didn't her dad trust you?' she asked.

"I love gardening, and being in gardens and all that sort of thing, there is something quite peaceful and relaxing about it, which is funny seeing as i am quite a loud, bold, feisty person. Zara skipped happily towards the greenery she had found. It was a beautiful garden, it must've take a lot of effort and patience to grow that kind of wonderful garden. It was better than the one they had at home, though Zara loved the garden of the Griffiths mansion. She found a dry spot to sit on and lay her jacket on the spot. She sat on her jacket, and took her quills, ink, and parchment. Yeap, she was gonna write a letter about her first day and her birthday greeting to her mom, though she was still thinking about what gift she could possibly give her.

"How about you? What do you want to do after Hogwarts?" he asked.

'Wow,' said Daisy, 'an auror, that's really cool. But I could never be an auror, I wouldn't get enough O.W.Ls or N.E.W.Ts,' she smiled. 'I want to be a beater for the Holyhead Harpies, it's been my dream ever since I was 7 and getting on the quidditch team this year will be my first step, so I'm really hoping to make it.'

'Chloes dad just sounds ridiculous,' Daisy said, 'I mean if he's stupid enough to not trust a family of aurors, i'm sure you'll be able to get round him and write to Chloe somehow...'
Daisy leaned over to smell a flower and sneezed. She sighed, taking a tissue out of her pocket. 'My stupid hayfever,' she moaned.
