Oakey made his way to the stands. Perhaps he would watch as others practiced. He looked and saw a couple of his Huffie housemates sitting together including the captain of the Quidditch Team. Hi Isobel Oakey said trying to catch her attention. Checking out the other teams, are we?

"Hey Oakey," Isobel said, waving him over. She patted the spot next to her. "You ready for try outs?" They were soon. Too soon, in her opinion. Isobel was so nervous she wondered what the look in her eyes was like. Her hands were even shaking a little.

Nessie thought She'd get a bit of practise before tryouts. So she got a broom from the shed then went off to the quiditch pitch, got ready and flew off. The feeling was amazing, Nessie felt as though she had been doing it her whole life. It felt as though she was a bird soaring throgh the air never having to land.

Thomas got a broom from the shed. He shouted "Up" and the broom flew into his hand he mounted his broom and took off. He loved flying but loved quidditch more.

Roderigo De Lacerda trotted down the verdant hills, walking towards the giant gate that bared the threshold to the Quidditch Pitch. The chilly Autumn wind stung his cheeks and whipped his robes about his legs. He walked through the gates and walked out onto the field. There weren't many people here, which made it more tolerable for him to practice his flying. Another gust of wind blew past him, chilling him more. The Nimbus Two Thousand and One was slung on his shoulder. Wishing he had worn more layers, he pulled out his wand with his free hand and summoned a scarf of blue and silver; Ravenclaw colors. He slackened his grip on the broom, allowing it to slide down his arm and land softly on the plush grass. Wrapping his scarf around his face and neck, he held his hand over the idle broom.
"Up," he muttered. The broom flew into his hand. Roderigo never really understood why it was so fascinating to see the broom zip into his hand, or anyone's for that matter. Shrugging at his muse, he mounted the broom, kicked off hard. He didn't allow himself to fly terribly high. Only a few feet, probably the height of an average seventh year. His eyes fluttered to the face of his watch; he was expecting his comrade, Theodore Dumble, to be arriving soon. While he waited, he lackadaisically flew around at a low height.

Trudging across the dewy grass, Theodore narrowed his eyes in the biting breeze that stung his nose with cold, making it turn red. One hand clutched the wood of the comet two sixty that he had borrowed from the school's broom cupboard and his other hand adjusted the Ravenclaw scarf on his neck. Out of all of the days for he and Roderigo to practice for quidditch try-outs, this had to be it? The sky was gloomy, the wind was vicious, and the weather as a whole definitely wasn't helping Theodore overcome his anxiety in relation to heights and sports. Looking up, he saw his curly-haired friend in the distance.

Raising his free hand, Theodore waved and made an effort to smile, although all he felt like doing was sitting in front of the warm fireplace in the Ravenclaw Common Room. Nearing the fellow Ravenclaw, he spoke up, "Hey! Erm, what do you think of letting me watch you practice?" Roderigo had much more quidditch experience than Theo did, so it only seemed logical.

Penny walked over to the stands when she heard the Patronus speak and sat down...Then noticing the Huffie team captain join them..."Uhm, yeah, I thought I'd have a go" replied Penny nervously...

Hopefully Penny would be able to pick up some pointers from watching the other try-outs !!!

Oakey noticed a nervous look in her eyes. Isobel? Oakey asked You look like you've seen a ghost(which is partially true they must've seen the Fat Friar on multiple occasions)are feeling okay?

Penny wandered over to the stands, seeing another huffie first year, she sat down...."Hi how are you doing?, are you going to try-out too?"

Ha! You know it! Oakey said over-confidently. With the best Quidditch captain too He grinned as he said this and looked back over at Isobel.

Penny looked at the boy and smiled... "I'm Penny, huffie first year"
then asked him.."so what positions are you gonna try-out for then?"

His smile was infectious, and Penny couldn't help but smile back

Me too Oakey replied to being a 1st year Huffie I'm gonna try out for Beater, or Seeker. I might try for Chaser too. Oakey was happy to be talking Quidditch. Do you have a favorite team? I like the Finches from America.

Isobel smiled at the girl. She looked nervous too, probably not more than Isobel was though. "I'm sure you'll do great," Isobel said. "And it's a ton of fun."

Isobel tried to give Oakey a reassuring smile. "I'm fine," she said. "Just a little nervous." A little nervous was a huge understatement. She gave him a mischievous smile. "Yeah, I saw a ghost. It was big, and fat, and it had, fangs. It crept up behind me and..." She trailed off and stopped talking. After being silent for about a minute she yelled, "BOO!" Hehe.

It got quite for a minute or two. The strange ghost Isobel was describing really peeked his interest. Was there really such a ghost? Then there was a loud booming "BOO!" coming straight from Isobel. The break in silence scared Oakey, he feel backwards from his seat onto the floor. Very Funny! Oakey retorted. Glad to see it's not bothering you so much. I'd be shaking in my boots.

This was more like it, broom in hand Caroline walked into the practice pitch. She had gotten a new broom over the summer with her birthday money. Only riding it two times over the summer wasn't going to break it in anytime soon. Tryouts were only a few days away. She needed to get up in the air and fly. There she was standing in the ptich. She mounted her broom and rose up skyward. There all around was the aireal view of Hogwarts that she missed for nearly a year. She didn't do much flying last term, but she had missed it since then. Doing a few laps around the pitch, she stopped in a small corner and looked and at the view and everyone there enjoying themselves. Here was the perfect place to think.

After spending a few hours studying in the library, Aiden quickly went to practice. As she took a broom from the broomshed, she flies straightaway to the pitch.

As soon as she arrives, Aiden looks around if there are any Slytherins who are willing to help her train.

Seeing his friend, Theodore, walking onto the pitch, Roderigo pulled up lightly on his broom handle and came to a smooth stop a few feet above the ground. He smiled and waved to Theo, but then realized his face was obscured by his house scarf. His face was pink since the cold rush of air had stung his cheeks numb, and his fingers were feeling like icicles. Shivering ever so slightly, he sighed, slightly crestfallen at the fact that his friend wouldn't be joining him until later. The idea of him playing by himself and having Theo sit and watch was, for reasons he couldn't discern, nerve wracking. He yawned loudly in response, which quickly turned into an exhale and shiver.
"Well, I s'pose that's all right, then," he said after a few moments. Pondering for a few seconds, Roderigo decided he'd at least need some kind of cooperation from Theo to facilitate his practicing. There wasn't much he could do to practice for the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team tryouts all by himself. But an idea came to him.
"Hold on a second," he said, lowering on his Nimbus Two Thousand and One and dismounting it. He laid it on the crisp, faded green grass and walked back over to the iron gate, which also contained the locker rooms. A few minutes later, Roderigo reappeared carrying the crimson ball roughly the size of soccer ball; the Quaffle. He approached Theodore and threw the Quaffle towards him.
"It'd be stupid if I just flew around aimlessly. Can you at least toss this to me while I fly? I'll try to catch it and practice my scoring accuracy..." his voice trailed off as he thought in his muse. He had yet to decide which position he was going to tryout for, and at that point he was intending to tryout for all four positions. He might as well start with Chaser practice.

Theodore felt more than relieved as his Spaniard friend consented to his wishes. Had he been with any other of his companions, they probably would have forced him to fly around, like a mother forcing their awkward baby bird from the comfortable nest. Grabbing up the quaffle and tossing the borrowed clean sweep 290 on the grassy ground, Theodore made an effort to grin. "Ready when you are!" He said, pulling his scarf more tightly around his as he kept the large red ball in the crook of his arm. "When you shoot, I'll run over to the goal posts and catch it. I... I need to warm up before I do any actual flying."

It was more like Theo needed to observe some proper flying technique to alleviate his fears about his own flying-related inadequacies. It hadn't necessarily been that the curly-topped teen had never wanted to play the famed sport as a kid in the Big Apple; it was rather that it was nearly impossible to use a broomstick in such a heavily-populated urban area. Even if his parents would have placed a disillusionment charm on hi, there was always the big chance that he would crash into a bird or a building.

Ellie wanted to practice on her broom before tryouts in the next few days so she took out her broom and was on the practice pitch, ready to start. Getting on her broom she lifted off and started doing some circles around hte pitch. She loved the feeling of flying, it was her getaway from life.

Isobel tried not to laugh when Oakey fell off his chair. She offered a hand to help him get back up. "Why would I be scared?" She asked. "He's my best friend in the whole wide world!" She grinned.

Oakey was confused now, weren't they just talking about Quidditch tryout. Instead they were talking about ghosts. WAIT WHAT? Oakey asked, This ghost is real? It could be possible I mean they were magical and ghosts did exist.

Penny thought about that for a moment.."Well actually, uhm, I don't really have a favourite team yet...cos like I only found out in June that I was a witch, so there's loads of stuff I'm not familiar with yet"....

"Although my friend Rose has loaned me her Quidditch magazines and i've been reading lots of stuff - I think I like the Holyhead Harpies - they're the only all-female team in Britain" she said with a smile.





"Thanks... I've been practising with my room-mates and my best friend Rose is a really good flyer, so she's been helping me too ..... I'm just hoping I stay on the broom and play like I did in the practises.." she replied..



Penny almost fell off her seat when the team captain yelled 'boo' to Oakey.. then seeing him on the ground smiled a little.. going over to offer some help - but when she reached him, he was already up again...
"I'm sorry for laughing, but that was really funny, are you ok?"

He thought the ghost was real? Wow. Isobel decided to be mischievous. "Yes," she told him with a very serious and believable expression. "The fat ghost with fangs is real and he's my best friend."

Isobel smiled. "Have you flown before then?" She asked. If she hadn't, then she was seriously missing out, flying was awesome. Isobel smiled evilly; she had now made one person fall over, and almost made another person fall over by her boo. Hehe.

Penny looked up at the girl with a smile saying...."I've only been flying since June, I spent part of the summer at my friends' house in the country and we flew nearly every day and played rudimentary quidditch... they have no close neighbours, so we could fly without being seen...Since coming to Hogwarts i've been flying with my roomies almost every day after dinner & homework.."

Is he here at Hogwarts! I want to meet him! Oakey was amazed that Isobel had befriended a ghost here. I wonder if I can do the same? Become friends with a ghost that is?



Just started in June and you've been out on your broom that long. Oakey was impressed. My Foster Father was the Seeker for the International American Quidditch team before we moved to England.
