If you know the password, you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeon and walk into the Slytherin common room:

The ceiling is low and the walls are made of stone, and even though they seem dank and cold, the room is a very comfortable temperature. There are greenish lamps by black leather couches and chairs, with skulls all around. Some of the chairs had been transfigured into Chaise Lounges by previous seventh years, and never turned back. There are no windows as the common room is located under the lake and a fire burning green in the fireplace, before the rug covered floor. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere, as pride is one of this house's qualities.

This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind, study and chat with one another. There is a straircase straight ahead that leads to a room students may use as a quiet place to study, and ask prefects and high scoring students questions. To the left, a staircase that goes down to the Boys Dorm, and to the right a staircase that leads to the Girls Dorms. Beside each staircase is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it.

On the side of the fireplace is a Notice Board for class and homework announcements, as well as general announcements and signup sheet with the words 20 minutes max on it, for those wanting to sit on the couch and stare at the fire all emo like. On one of the coffee tables you see a copy of the Slytherin Scroll, a newsletter only for Slytherin Students.

A box is on an end table, where you may sign up for or to be a Serpent Sidekick, and a podium with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged.

"I'm also telling him that we miss him and are worried about him. Want me to tell him anything for you?" he asked reaching into the basket for a toothflossing stringmint. He tore it open and popped it into his mouth, the mint working it's magic on his straight white teeth and freshening his breath. Connor sat up and reached behind her messing with her hair. "Let me do that, you'll have it all crooked if you don't." He smirked. How many times through the years had they done this? It never grew old for him.

Vaelle followed her nose from the dormitory to the common room.
Something smelled delicious, of that she was certain.
Keeping to the walls initially, she started slowly circling the room, pausing every so often to sniff the air. She tried her best not to look at the other students in the room, although she knew she would eventually have to interact with the one responsible for that amazing aroma.

Connor looked up at the first year girl and smiled and waved at her then he realized he'd been emitting his cinnamon-vanilla veela scent over what he was writing and saying about Orabelle. Dang. He saw the girl sniff and he took a deep breath. He sighed softly and he laid back against the pillows and went back to Braiding Dani's hair. He continued with the braiding. He sighed and combed and briaded.

Feeling miserable and completely unable to sleep for two nights now, TJ sat down in the common room in one of the chairs facing the fire. She'd known her happiness wouldn't last long, because that was just the way her life was. She'd be happy and bang, gone, no happiness.

Sighing she pulled her knees up to her chest on the chair staring into the fire.

Yeah, Evan had it all right. There were a few guys at Hogwarts anyway who even thought of getting two girls at the same time. How the guy got in Ravenclaw was a complete mystery, but Evan wasn't letting him get his two good friends again. Marie had suffered enough, and Sophie wasn't even completely over him being with Mina. Fallon wasn't ready either, judging by her reaction... even if it was called 'gossiping', he wasn't letting Finn get any of them. No way!

"Look, Fallon, sorry about my reaction," he said, more calmly this time. "I just don't want any of you to get heartbroken by Finn... so, you should know that he's also with Sophie, the Gryffindor prefect." There, now she knew.

Fallon just stared at Evan. She didn't believe him for one second. She wasn't going to start thinking wrong of Finn until she talked to him. She didn't for one second think that he was actually messing around with her again. He'd already apologized about a million times for doing that. Fallon grabbed her book. "It was nice talking to you Evan...and thanks for the warning." She wasn't going to be rude. "I gotta go. I'm supposed to meet Iris in the dorms." Yeah. That was a good excuse that would work. She started to head towards the girl's dorms.
