Again with the french? Riley hadn't left Harlesk Institute in Luxemburg to come to Hogwarts which was in Great Britain to still here French. He looked at the man as he described what his jon entailed as if it were obvious. "Oh, well I thought you may have done more than that." The Gryffindor boy replied honestly.

And then he was going to do what?!

Riley blink once, twice and a third time and then quickly jerked his head to see if the front door was still open. Could he make it before the man cursed him and then took him to throw in the lake?

Chad chuckled. "I do. I live a life, Monsieur," he grinned, taking a seat in his comfy, leather chair. "Unlike some people who pick bark of trees for fun...." Oh, buuurn. Mmhmm.

Sensing that perhaps the Groundskeeper had only been joking and that he was in realtive safety for the time being, The Gryffindor sunk and sat onto the arm of a chair. He was fine perched this way.

Oh he did do other things? Riley was hoping he would mention some of them, and wondered if any of them were especially interesting....it wasn't. It was an insult no less.

"Hey, that's not fair. I was disoriented by the...the...vastness of the forest!" he said irratably.

Chad raised his eyebrows. What was this? The forest?

"You went into the forest, Monsieur?" It appeared that Chad may have found his new puppy washer. Kimber would be pleased.

*gulp*

Umm...."Well you see I didn't go in it, not all the way." he said raising his hands up infront of him in defense. "I had been walking along the edge just looking into it and then I may have stuck my foot in the edge." he said ending slowly, cringing just a tiny bit.

Wait, did he have the power to expel him?

Oakey came to the hut that was sitting on the edge of Forbidden Forrest. It had been some time since his Snargaluff incident. Oakey finally found some time to come by and thank Mr.Stryker for coming to his aid before Crazy Ravenclaw fed him to the plant.

He knocked twice on the door and waited to see if Mr.Stryker would answer.

The sense of fear for being expelled for his tiny excursion into the Forbidden Forest had subsided enough that he was able to relax easier on his perch of the arm chair. He was sure he liked the Groundskeeper's little games anymore, he was beginning to feel that the guy enjoyed torturing him.

*gulp*

"Ummm...dogs? Not particularily, why?" That seemed a bit off topic, perhaps the man had taken too many spills on the grounds and had lost control of his thoughts sometimes. Maybe one of the dangers of being a Groundskeeper.

Oakey opened the door and entered into the hut. Oakey took a comfy seat on the armchair, and sat facing Mr.Stryker who was sitting on the sofa opposite him.

Monsieur that was a silly thing to call Oakey what's a Monsieur? Oh well Oakey always gives funny nick names why not have one for himself.

Oakey smiled at being called this. I'm doing fine now yeah my burns and wrist are all healed up and I haven't bumped into Crazy Ravenclaw in a while, I've taken to jumping into brush or hiding behind statues if I'm anywhere near him.

Oakey realized how crazy that sounded. He'd need to face Crazy Ravenclaw eventually.

Chad tilted his head at Oakey. "Well now, you cannot hide from him, Monsieur," he noted, taking a seat in his chair again and relaxing into it. "What that boy did was not right and he is being punished for it. You should not be afraid of him and you cannot hide from him all the time."

Well darn, Oakey was getting good at diving head first into shrubbery too. Now Mr.Stryker tells him to face his fear head on.

Oakey's face honestly showed that he didn't want to be anywhere near or be seen by Jacob, and he sunk into his seat further. Can't I? Oakey said I've gotten really good at it. Oakey paused for a moment then looked out the window, it was a beautiful day out. Mister, I've fallen down a large flight stairs, faced a boggart, and helped to try and put out the fire that just recently happened, but I never felt closer to death then when Crazy Ravenclaw was going to feed me to the Snargaluff.

Mr.Stryker helped Oakey out of that dilema, and it seemed he wanted to help Oakey overcome his fear of the Quidditch Captain, or was Jacob still holding that position? I-If you want I'll co-confront him eventually.

Stryker shook his head gently. "I do not want you to confront him, Monsieur...you misunderstood me. I just mean that you should not go out of your way to avoid him. You have every right to share the hallways and rooms. You do not have to talk to him. You do not have to look at him. You especially do not have to like him. But, you most certainly cannot hide from him."

Oh good. Oakey calmed down as he was happy that he misunderstood Mr.Stryker.

It'll take some getting used to then. Oakey said with a smile. The bushes and statues will surely miss me

But there was still the matter of Quidditch Oakey couldn't ignore Crazy Ravenclaw when his team plays the Ravenclaws, whenever that may be. What should I do when we play the Ravenclaws in Quidditch I assume we can share the skies but I can't ignore him up there.

"During Quidditch," he continued, "You go out there and you play...just like it was any other team. Professor Vindictus will makes sure things are as clean and civil as possible." The boy really was worrying too much.

Well that's at least what the Gryffindor was shouting in his head, but being in the presence of the strange Groundskeeper, Riley's boisterous attitude and sharp tongue were toned back and all he could muster to say was "Sure." It was almost not audible.

Why had he admitted to his rule-breaking? It wasn't like he had kicked a unicorn or pulled the tail of a centaur, he stepped a foot in the darned forest for Merlin's sake! Now the crazy man wanted him to brush his...dog!? *Shiver* Riley had always disliked creatures since he was little but dogs were the worst; they drooled everywhere and the hair was always getting on clothes and furniture. Man's best friend his rump! He was beginning to think of asking for points loss....

But he was in this now and all he could do was wait for it to end.

With a chuckle, Chad got up from his seat and walked into his little bedroom. He had to fish the puppy from out underneath his bed, but he still managed to return into the living area a few moments later with a panting puppy in his arms.

"Here you go," he said, handing over the cute puppy, "and her brush." He handed that over too. "Knock yourself out," he grinned, going back and sitting in his chair.

As Mr. Stryker left to rummage around in a room beyond the Gryffindor's sight, Riley once again tried to calculate his chances of escape before the man returned. He couldn't go to the Castle, he would look there. The Quidditch pitch was out of the question, Vindictus would probably clobber him with a Beater's bat. Maybe...the Forest, the very thing that got him into this mess? Yeah he could give up the nice clothes, the big house, an education to hide and feed on....no he couldn't do it! He would have to brush the puppy.

The man returned carrying the beast in his hands and Riley held his breath as the thing was put into his lap. He sat frozen as the tiny thing stood in his lap, staring up at him with the tiny pink tongue. Scowling, the seventh year took the brush and began to brush the thing.

Chad watched as the puppy sat in Riley's lap, tail wagging. When the boy started to brush her fur, though, the puppy became fixated at trying to lick the boy's hand.

Another stroke with the brush. Riley wasn't enjoying this one bit. Well except the puppy was kind of soft, it reminded him of a scarf he had up in the dormitory. NO! This was horrible.

Riley looked down from his death stare at the Groundskeeper who seemed to be enjoying his vigil on the sour Gryffindor too much and saw that the puppy stuck out its tiny pink tongue and began to lick his hand. The feeling made Riley tickle. "Hey stop that." he said, trying not to grin. He had never seen a puppy this nice before.

'But better not warm up too fast Riley, it's claws aren't out yet!' he told himself.

The puppy then propped himself up onto her hind legs with her front paws on Riley's chest. Panting happily, she started to try and lick his face.

Riley wasn't sure what to do now that the dog had given up licking his hand and went straight for his face! The Gryffindor leaned back as far as he could in the chair, which really didn't help since it gave the puppy an easier walk to his face, and closed his mouth shut as tight as possible. If even one drop of that slobber landed in his perfect mouth he would probably scream.

Dropping the brush, the boy just sat there helpless as to what to do to fix the situation. He needed help, he couldn't hurt the puppy it was.....too cute. 'Oh what is happening to the world?'

The puppy just remained there. Staring. And panting. And staring.

Tail waggin'.

Chad grinned. This was waaaaay too much fun to watch.

Was he going to help? Suuuuuure.

When pigs grow wings first, of course.
