Ella smirked. 'But you weren't though, were you?' Ella shrugged. 'He's okay I suppose..' Ella jiggled her knee, making the cat roll over. No reaction. Weirdo.. she thought to herself...

Carefully, Ella brought up her legs and crossed them underneath her. Then she noticed Matt was eating..
'Your eating something else!' She burst out laughing at his expression. 'My cake was nicer...'

Eyes widening in terror, and in horror, for the guy who almost choked in front of her. She nearly stood up while she frantically let out a, "Are you okay?" with eyes and mouth wide open, and with arms panicking. Luckily, he spotted a glass of butterbeer and gulped it down quickly. Zara sighed, then shook her head while rearranging her features. "Whew."

"Are you trying to kill yourself?" She looked back at the fire. "Nice to meet you too. Be careful next time." She said grumpily. But she was really concerned, what was it with her? She just met him, how could she be so worried? Zara shrugged it off. Probably because she's just worried about anyone who would probably choke like that. Yes, maybe it was because of that. But Zara knew there was something different. Ugh.

"Hi! I'm Elle Jackson. It's nice to meet you!" Elle replied enthusiastically. She was happy she was making so many new friends. "What year are you in?" she asked Zara.

"Hi Elle!" she grinned and added, "Pleasure to meet you, too. I'm a freshman here."

Zara winked and said, "How 'bout you?"

"Hey Elle! Hows it going?" replied Ariella.

'So, Zara. Where's this pretty owl of yours?' Ella smiled. 'I wanna se her! Don't worry, Henry won't go wild and attack her..' She rolled her eyes as her lazy kitty stretched out on her knee, still purring loudly.

"Pfft." He tapped his head knowingly. "I was mentally."

Matt frowned. "What, you don't like him?" The feline slept like a log; even Ella's irritable leg quaking didn't wake it. He wished he slept like that..Unfortuneatly he was a light sleeper; the cows always woke him in the morning. That was definitely the downside of living on a farm.

He looked at her, oblivious. Was he not allowed to eat? Sure, his appetite was big, but wasn't everybodies? His was just a little larger than most... "Naaaaa." ...and pointed to the cookie. "This is ten times better than your cake." He grinned; he liked to tease. It made him feel more..confident. Oh yeah, he was Mr Cool and Confident. You get me?

Woaaaaaah, scary angry Zara. AHHHH. AHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Matt resisted the urge to run away, his usual arm spasms ready to flail, perfectly complimenting his bandy legged run. But instead he stayed. That didn't stop his arm flailing though. "I'm fine, I'm fine!" he reassured her hurriedly. He looked like a fire engine - his blush had intensified. "Me and breathing just don't mix very well sometimes." He attempted a nervous chuckle, pulling anxiously at his scarf.

He hoped she wasn't too angry... Girl = Scary. Angry + Girl = AHHHHHHHHH *run away* *hide*

"I will, I promise." He grinned, reached behind him, and grabbed a cookie. Cookies would calm her down. Everyone loves cookies. He held it out to her with a small smile. "Sorry."

Septimus walked into the comon room silently and with a smile on his face. He plopped down on his favorite sofa and sighed. He felt quite at home. He pulled his note book from his bag and began sketching.

Ella rolled her eyes as he tapped his head. Wait.. and he had called her mental?

'Yeah I do.. he just sleeps a lot.. then when he wakes up he's a total nutter!' This really was the truth..

Ella stretched out her arm, digging Matt in the ribs. 'Don't be dissing my cake! ..It was lovely by the way..' She added, smiling sweetly at him. She pulled a face at the biscuit he was holding.. and clearly enjoying. Ginger biscuits? Yack.. They weren't Ella's cup of tea at all....

Scratching the cat, she yawned. 'I have an owl coming hopefully soon.. she's a loon aswell.' Maybe she should take a walk up to the owelry.. she'd probably find Lullah sitting there with Ella and her brothers letter tied to her leg.. wripped in half and scruffy.

"I'm a first year, also! How are you liking everything so far?" asked Elle. She knew that she was loving everything. Surely everyone else felt the same, right?




"Everything is great!" said Elle. She was hoping to hang out with all the friends she'd been making lately, but since it was technically the first day of term, she wasn't trying too hard. Between being busy herself, she knew that everyone else must be busy, too. And she couldn't blame them for that!

"Hey!" Hey shrunk back, almost falling off the arm of the chair as he did so touching the place where she'd poked him. "What was that for?" She really did deserve the nickname "AHH". It suited her abnormally well. After all, she was scary...buuuut, weirdly, in a good way. Didn't mean he wasn't terrified. She had cooties...Bleurgh. But he didn't want to run a mile when he saw her and that was a plus.

Regaining his composure, he scowled in her direction. "Bumface." Then he grinned, flexing his fingers...and reaching for another cookie. Daaaamn, they were tasty!

He looked up, interested. "I've got an owl too." He smiled a little. "But she's tiny; the size of my palm." He looked down at his hand, smiling a little. "I guess your looniness must rub off on your pets then."

"She's right up the staircase at the girl's dormitory. You wanna go see her?" Zara offered. She smiled at Henry, "And you, mister better be good to her." as she reached out and ruffles the fur of Henry playfully.


Her anger eased away as she watched Matt. His expression seemed like he wanted to escape. The cookies seemed like the only reason why he was still seated there.

As the guy offered her cookies, Zara's eyebrows raised. She looked at him incredulously. Was he really offering her the cookies? That was nice of him, even though he wasn't the one that made them. Zara blinked and hesitantly reached out her hand to accept the cookie. "Thanks, I guess." She began munching on the cookie. Nomnomnom.

"Everything's great. The school, the teachers, the new friends you meet." Zara smiled. Everything was absolutely excellent. Despite the fact that it was her first time away from home, Zara enjoyed herself.

"I agree! Everything is brilliant. I'm just reallyyy excited for classes to begin. I've read the majority of our books so far. I think the only one I haven't read is Potions. I'm saving it for tonight, though." replied Elle. Of course, I just revealed my inner nerd, she thought. She gave Zara a quavering smile, and hoped she'd didn't just make a fool out of herself.

"Wow, that's great. I'm excited for classes too. But I haven't read the books yet. You think it's okay? Uh oh, I might fall behind in class." Zara frowned. Oh why didn't reading come into her mind once she got her books? She was too excited asking her parents all about the magic world and listening to their stories that she forgot to read their books for a head start on the lessons. She thumped her head with her hand. Then Zara sighed, "I guess I'll have to do well on listening and handing homeworks in, then. I wish I've read them like you."

" Yes, I am here" William told Tayla. " Common room is good and I have checked out some of the grounds, too" William said to Tayla. "Zara will be back in a minute" William smiled." I am so lucky to have a cute girl as my friend" William explained to Tayla.

" Heather, remeber me?" William asked her. "We met on the trian" William told Heather. " I met your friend Kurumi at the lake" William said to Heather." I am glad a real cute girl like you talked to me on the trian" William explained to Heather.

" Hi, my name is William Montcenaggio but you can call me William Starr" he introduced himself. "Another pretty girl I get to meet at HogWarts" William told her. "So have you been to any parts of the grounds at HogWarts?" William asked her.

Nice to see another boy here. "Sure are a lot of girls in the common room right now" William told the boy. " my name is William Starr" He introduced himself to the boy. " Since you are a little older than me, when do the classes start?' Wiliam asked the boy.

Again.. the excuse was the five older brothers..
'Looniness?! How am I 'loony?!' Ella burst out laughing. 'Hey, I've grown up with five older brothers.. it's really not my fault!' Ella blew up, her fringe flying sideways.
'And it was for calling me names, meanie!' Ella stuck her tounge out.. again. 'What kind of owl is she?..' Ella was curious now.. the size of his palm? Really?..

She found it hilarious how scary he thought she was.. it was normally her being the scaredy one!

Ella nodded. 'If you like1 I did see her before, when I went to see which bed I had!' She grinned, she was happy with her bed. 'Infact, I might have a walk up to the owlery to see if Lullah's arrived.'

Lexi came into the common room in much better spirits than she had been earlier. MUCH BETTER. She was carrying a BIG bag of marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate squares in one hand in her bag, sticking out a bit were loads of skewers. Looking around for Kurumi she smiled as she spotted her and hollered out, "Cublet! S'mores time, my dear. And I will have the elves bring up hot cocoa for any that want it." She turned more toward the crowd gathered in the common room. OH and HER sofa was not taken.

Good thing for the firsties... someone must have warned them.

Seeing Tayla she smiled as she sauntered toward HER sofa and said, "Yes, that is indeed my little lion cublet, Kurumi. Would you like to join us for s'mores and cocoa?

ORLANDO WAS FEEDING HER MONKEY CANDY?! Sigh. She couldn't get angry... no she couldn't she had not given him the bag of grapes and bugs to feed him.

Smiling she clicked her tongue and Rufus' little head spun around to spot her, his eyes went big, he began to chatter and off he hopped from Orlando's shoulder.

The little guy scuttled straight up Lexi's robes, kissed her cheek, and came to rest on her shoulder, hugging her head tightly. "I missed you too, buddy, but I see Orlando took perfectly good care of you. Thank you so much, Orlando for returning him. Would you like to have s'mores and cocoa with us? I typically do this the first night here... but I was so tired I didn't really socialize much," she went from speaking to Rufus to Orlando as she plopped onto HER sofa right by the fireplace and began to lay out the goodies.

Moments later a house elf appeared and bowed LOW to Miss Lexi and asked what it was that she needed. After telling her that she needed LOTS of hot chocolate and thanking the little female elf very graciously, the elf disappeared with a pop and she was left looking at Orlando with a smile. "Come on then, have a seat, tell me about the meeting. Or not..."

"Oh. You want me to accompany you to the owlery?" Zara offered. That reminded Zara, she still had a letter to write! Ugh. She still hasn't written to her parents about her first day. Oh well, I guess she'd do that later.

"Oh, you'll be fine, I'm sure. I just read anything I can, any time I can! I bought a book in Diagon Alley about Ancient Runes because I think they're sooo interesting. I can't wait until I can take that class! And I doubt you'll fall behind in classes. But if you do, I'll help you! We can be homework buddies!" rushed Elle. When she starts talking, it just keeps coming out, faster and faster until you can hardly understand what she's saying. "Hopefully, we will have tons of classes together," smiled Elle.

"A book about owls?! I didn't even think to get one! And I just got one this summer. He's a barn owl named Roman. What kind of owl is yours?" replied Elle, straying away from the subject due to her short attention span. Back on track...."Yay! Well, as soon as we get our first lesson, we can meet up here and finish it together! Or maybe in the library...whichever is fine with me!" said Elle with a huge grin on her face.

Ella clambered back through the portrait hole, trying not to dislodge little Lullah from her shoulder. Making her way back to her original seat, Ella saw that Henry had gone. Probably up to the dormitary.. he'll know where to go. She wasn't often worried about Henry. He always seemed to know his way around.

Sitting down, Ella went to untie the letter from Lullah's leg, when she found five others. Her Mother had wrote them one each.. No wonder Lullah was exhausted! Ella shook her head, and looked around the fairly packed Common room for an yof her brothers..

He relaxed a little. She didn't look so mad anymore, which was a good thing. Cookies were so awesome. If cookies were people, he would have a cookie army and go off on an epic struggle to vanquish Marshmellow Land before coming back home again and having a cookie party where there'd be a giant chocolate fountain, so big you could swim in it!

Matt blinked, bringing his thoughts back to Zara, who had just thanked him. "Welcome." he said, tipping his head. "I promise I won't endanger my life with cookies ever again." he said, chuckling sleepishly, blush as apparent as ever.

"Five." He raisied his eyebrows, dark eyes expanding incredulously. "Blimey!" No wonder she'd turned out like she had. "Poor them." He laughed, his gaze falling at her fringe. She looked funny. "Meanie?!" He gasped, feigning shock. "Bit harsh, don't you think?" He grinned. She stuck out her tongue...a lot. She better be careful; a bee could bite it off or something.

Matt shrugged. "No idea. I've had her for ages. My mum got her for me." He loved her smallness though. Whenever she was with him she'd sit on his shoulder, ruffling her feathers against his neck. He'd have to go visit her in the Owlery soon. He missed her.

"Mine is a snowy owl named Eirwen." Zara smiled, "As long as we're doing them together, anywhere is fine. There's the library, the Gryffindor common room, or the study tables we have here in the common room." Zara grinned too. She couldn't wait to have her first lesson. Wonder when it'll start?

Zara grinned then chuckled. Of course, Matt was the only person she knew whose life would be threatened by an innocent cookie. She couldn't help but bursting into laughter. A lot of people are threatened by weapons, criminals, guns and all those. But Matt. Matt, by an innocent cookie. Zara could hardly control her breathing.

Then, realizing that she was laughing too hard and that no one else knew why, Zara stopped. She cleared her throat. "So, uhm, Matt. You're in Gryffindor, huh? You must be a brave guy." But obviously not when it comes to girls, as Zara had observed.

Now it was Ella's turn to feign shock. 'Poor them? You must be joking..' She rolled her eyes. 'Not harsh at all, I could be worse!' She grinned, stroking Lullah. Matt had wandered off for a bit, and by the time he'd came back she'd been to the Owlery.

'This is Lullah, she's sort of the family owl.. but she like staying at Hogwarts. Mam says it's 'cause she's keeping an eye on us.' Ella rolled her eyes again. It was the triplets that needed keeping an eye on.. not her and her two eldest brothers.

Ella spotted on of them then, talking to a group of his friends. It was only Leo.. he wouldn't mind if she threw a few letters at him....
'Oi! Leeeeeeeo!' She shouted, waving the five letters. He looked over, pulling a face. 'Letters, off Mam!' He stretched over as he wasn't that far away. Extending her arm back, she chucked them over at Leo. They hit him in the face.. she wasn't a very good aim. Covering her mouth she gasped. 'Sorry!..' He just pulled another mad face. She returned it, then turned back to Matt. Stroking Lullah, she swept her fringe to the side. it was irritating her a lot....
