Josephina had been running quite late, which was, needless to say, unusual for the brown-haired Arithmancy Professor. But unfortunately, some minor things tied her over for a bit longer than planned. Stepping into the court area, she waited a moment for the Lions and Eagles to enter the court. As she was waiting, she removed the twin gobstones bags, one full of blue marbles and the other red ones, from her bag, handing it over to the respective teams.

"You all should have familiarized yourself with the rules," she began. "There is a zero tolerance for cheating. Good luck."

Resilience was one thing that Kurumi was very comfortable with; despite her younger housemate stealing her stone, in which she may have stuck her tongue out at him in a most unladylike fashion, she still wasn't giving up. Within seconds she had a new stone and tossed it onto the court in which it rolled to a stop just millimeters from the center Jack Stone.

One more good roll from those Lions and the round will be those. However, one good roll from the Eagles and we go into overtime. If there was such a thing.

On an upward spiral, Miss Hollingberry takes another turn for her house, rolling her stone onto the court. Any challenges? Master Blunt? Miss Greenwell? Eying some of the strong Eagle players, Fina shook her head as the red stone inched rather close to the Jack Stone and then suddenly, without warning, the center Jack Stone spewed a coat of gob!! Right in the faces of the Eagle players!

Despite how horrid smelling it was, Fina couldn't help but find it amusing. Sweat or gob; she was sure some of those eagles would sooner take the sweat.

Apparently that spout of gob was just what the Eagles needed to wake them up and remind them they were in the middle of the match. Almost immediately upon the gob coming in contact with the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain, a blue stone was released from his hand. Reflexes, perhaps?

Nonetheless, Kurumi spotted that rolling stone and wasn't going to allow it closer to the Jack Stone. With precision and the right force, she released her own red stone onto the court. The two stones rolled for a little while before coming to a stop about two inches from the Jack Stone. Squinting at them, Fina had to get at eye level to see which was closer, if either one. "Gryffindor ... gets the point." By a hair.

Perseverance. That was the name of the game now, as both the Ravenclaw Captain and the Gryffindor ~~House Elf~~ Third Year aim their stones and ready themselves to release it onto the court. It wasn't just a who to release it first, but rather it was all up to how fast they threw it. The angle they threw it.

This time they seemed to be rolling at the exact same speed... perhaps they would have to go into another draw? But near the very center of the court was where as they slowed to a stop, the red one pulled inward just a smidgen closer than the blue!! Another round for the Lions.

There goes the sticking out of the tongue again! Honestly, Kurumi, was quidditch ruining your ladylike mannerisms? The third year released another red stone onto the court which rolled to a stop just inside of where the last one came to rest.

Captain Blunt wasn't going to let her get away that easily; putting his game face on ~~and perhaps wishing for his beater's bat~~, the sixth year released his own stone with incredulous force. Too much. It rolled over to the opposite side of the court, bounced off the wall and used the momentum to roll to a stop. Just outside of the red one. Or in other words, a smidgen further from Jack Stone, like before.

With one final roll, one of determination and forcefulness, Kurumi Hollingberry wasn't about to let her guard down. In just a split second, both herself and Jacob Blunt had released their stones onto the court. Momentum. They rolled together toward the center, bumping into each other as they went until just a millimeter or two from the Jack Stone, the stopped.

Squint.

"Gryffindor wins!" Hadley exclaimed, making the final call. "Ravenclaw will go on to face Hufflepuff in the Consolation Match, whereas Gryffindor will go on to face Slytherin in the Championship! You all played remarkable well and I thank you for that! Feel free to shake hands before leaving the court area." And going to wash off that gob because it stinks.
