Kurumi couldn't help but giggle in return. He did have a valid point - he would be a terrible host if he allowed her to starve to death. "You don't either?" she gasped. To someone just listening to their conversation, one might assume that she was in shock due to the horror of imaging a home without magic. However, her expression told a different story. "I am not allow to at my home. Father is a pureblood, but mother is non-magical, and deathly afraid of magic. She...she sometimes won't even look at me because of my violet eyes. They remind her of what I am."
Kurumi almost hugged Conan due to the sheer happiness of finding someone else that understood her situation. She stopped herself short though and instead probably resembled someone who was about to fall off their seat.
Conan shook his head, "I am a muggle. So everyone around me is a muggle. We aren't allowed to use magic. I don't want to anyway. Home is much better without wands. It has enough magic itself." Well the real type of magic anyway.
His mouth dropped open, "You have violet eyes?" That was AWESOME. He leaned closer to her. And peered into her eyes. Why had he never noticed this before? "You have really nice eyes." She was exciting.
"Are you ok?" It looked like she was going to fall off her chair.

"Has enough magic itself..." Kurumi repeated with a gentle smile. "That sounds lovely." Kurumi looked at Conan and felt a tinge of jealousy. She didn't know much about what his family life was like, but from that simple expression she could tell that it was a much happier one than she was accustomed to. Didn't need to hide who he was for all the wrong reasons. "I...my family doesn't use magic for different reasons, but I have tried to see the positive side of that. It reminds me that I am a human first and a witch second, or third."
"I do..." she nodded and was about to go into further explaination as to how they were a result of her metamorphagus abilities, when Conan got close...much closer to her. Her cheeks flushed again.
"F-F-F-Fine..."

Aurora nodded and waved the girl to sit down. She didn't lift her head up to see who it was - she was still crying and the tears were soaking through her robes.
She continued with her explanation from earlier, almost entirely ignoring Janice. "And so I don't know what to do and I HATE feeling helpless. I've always been in control and I just.. I don't know!" she wiped her eyes on the sleeve of her robes as she glanced at Mordred.
Janice felt like an intruder so she decided NOT to join them after all.
She then found Penny, Fee and another guy sitting, and so she asked them.

Conan nodded, "I live in the middle of Walt Disney World. It has a special kind of magic about it." A real kind of magic. "You are a Kurumi first," he smiled. That was what she was. He didn't think any other way. He liked her cos she was Kurumi, not because she was a witch.
"They are pretty," he smiled. Her cheeks were flushing. "Are you sick? Your cheeks are red." He would look after her if she was sick. Like take care of her. With lots of hugs. Cos that's what his mum did when he was sick.

Okay, NOW Kurumi was on her feet. "YOU LIVE WHERE?!" she chirped, her eyes practically popping out of her head. Kurumi hadn't ever stepped foot on Disneyland before, so she couldn't even imagine what it was like to live there. Well, that was sort of a lie. She had been once when she was really little, but she could hardly remember it.
She completely missed his comment about her being a Kurumi first, but it she had heard it, she would have really appreciated it.
"No...at least I don't think I am sick," she said placing the back of her hand against her forehead.

Conan retorted back into his seat as she jumped up. "I...uh...live in the middle of Walt Disney World," he stammered, rather scared. Was she angry? He was a bit fearful though. "My Dad runs the resort. So we live there. Is that a problem?"
"Oh ok." The pink looked like it had gone. Maybe it was just one of those flush things. Who could know. "You look a bit better now."

Cove looked over at Emily, still grinning. "Hehehehe, no reason...." She said. Her grin disappeared when she saw the owl. "Hi Sunny." She said too the owl. "She's adorable."
"Hmm.." Emily grinned a little, still glaring at Cove. No reason? Somehow she douted it. "Heehee. Isn't she?" she replyed poking her finger through the bars of the cage. Sunny looked up, hooted in an annoyed way, then put her head back under her wing. The progress she had though she'd made in making a relationship with the little owl seemed to have disapeared.
Sighing, Emily turned from the cage and looked back at Cove. "So any plans for the holiday Cove?" she smiled, still wondering why she had been grinning so evily before.
"Nothing," Dallin answered quickly, looking away from Louisa. He should have kept his mouth shut, period. Then he wouldn't have said that. Sure, he'd explain the situation to her if he could, but he just didn't feel right telling people about something that really wasn't something that was his to tell. Besides, he had a horrible feeling that if he told Louisa why Ellie wouldn't be his girlfriend for long, he'd cry or something. And he definitely did not want that.
Thank Merlin for the change of topic. Also, thank Merlin that Dal had decided to get something from the food trolley on his way here. That way, he felt like he could do some good in this visit to Louisa. "Here," he muttered, reaching into his jeans pocket and pulling out a slightly squished pumpkin pasty. "It's, um, all I got." He still wasn't meeting her eyes.
'Nothing' usually meant there was a huge thing going on in the background and usually, like a few days ago, she'd pry the answer out of him easily. He never hides anything from her –as far as she could tell- and with a few questions and puppy eyes, she would know. Not then, though. He was angry, maybe annoyed, and definitely liked his girlfriend dozens more than he used to like Louisa.
So she shut up.
Staring down at the pumpkin pasty he offered, she considered slapping his hand away and going back to her half-sleep half-passing out situation. If he wasn't going to looking at her or drop the angry tone, she wasn't going to accept his charity. But her hand moved on its accord and she took the food, carefully not to touch his skin, and placed it next to her. Scooting over to the window, curling up in a ball, she rested her forehead on her knees and closed her eyes, "Leave me alone." Her voice cold and shaking, "..please," There. She'd asked him! He wouldn't feel guilty about getting out of here now- which was what he wanted from the beginning but too polite to do it.

Penny was enjoying talking to William and finding out all about his family and their homes... It was really fun to learn about others..
Then the compartment door opened again, this time it was Janice, Pennys' dorm mate...
"Hi Janice, of course I don't mind, your very welcome to join us..", she said smiling...then decided to introduce the others to Janice..
"I think you know Fee, but this.. pointing to William..."Is William Starr, William, this is Janice, we share a dorm at school."

"Patrolling..." she muttered as if any echo before turning her gaze back to Josh. Patrolling the corridors? What? "Oh, nonono. No...ew. No." Shaking her head, she didn't really enter the compartment when he moved out of the way, seeing as the room was already full and she really didn't want to be squished next to Cookie Girl the whole ride back to London.
"Just...looking for people." Hmmm. "Mostly you." Mmhmm.
Ew?
Apparently Evelyn Flores did not like the idea of patrolling the corridors. Hehe. Well...he would not have liked it, either if the same words had been directed to him. He was no prefect.
Still standing aside, Josh kept staring at his girlfriend as she just...stood there as well as she spoke to the others in the compartment. Eh? Was not she going to step in? Or maybe it just seemed too crowded for her. He would understand that. So taking a step closer to her instead, he remembered that thing he had suggested at the feast. ''It is okay if i told you that we still need to talk, isn't it?''

And of course Simon knew who he had been talking about. Of course, he would know that. Apparently, Josh was losing his common sense a bit or...well...at least one thing was certain; there was something wrong and he couldn't see it as a whole.
Not moving his gaze away from where it previously had been, the Gryffindor's eyes narrowed a bit as he carefully listened to what Simon was whispering to him. Maybe...that was not a bad idea but... ''That would not be as satisfying as punching and kicking him myself, though. And not sure he would get the right message with the attack of the bird.''

At least people were suggesting ways out the problem yet...whatever. Stopping the thoughts about how to kill or at least maim Riley for a moment, Josh looked at Selina again when she spoke up. She was thanking to him? Eh? For what exactly?
Ah...it was probably because he said that she could join them. ''There's no need to thank to me, Selina. You can join us whenever you want. Actually, i guess i have no right to tell you not to do so since there are other friends of you here. Not that i would ever do that anyway.''

Kurumi decided to keep her mouth shut, her eyes on the owl.
Yep, Kurumi would just stick with the owl for now, who was apparently named Hotty. "Good day, Hotty," Kurumi said bowing her head towards the owl. Maybe...she wouldn't try to pet the bird. She would rather like to keep her fingers on her hand.
Ah yes...Pineapple Boy...we meet again at last. Walnut sauntered into the compartment, following his mistress, and saw the owl. Nope, far too much effort to try and stick his paws into the cage. Then, Walnut did something a little unsuspected - well, for those who knew the relationship - he rubbed his head on Josh's leg. Pineapple Boy and him may not always see eye to eye, but at least he had never made his Mistress cry, unlike that Hufflepuff.
What the catnip was a Hufflepuff anyway?
Meanwhile, of course Josh was keeping a careful eye on Kurumi and his owl in case an act of immediate rescue might be needed. He very well knew what kind of an owl that was yet Kurumi apparently did not. Yes, he had warned her about it yet...words were never as stong as the experience itself anyway. And Josh did not want Kurumi to experience that kind of interaction with his evil bird.
Well...he just smiled a bit as the lioness wished the bird a good day wondering if the bird had ever considered a day good for herself. ''Probably she thinks it is a good day when she has some fresh flesh to pick to pieces.''
The boy opened his mouth to utter more about the bird yet feeling something touching his leg made him fell silent immediately and looked down just to see...well...Mr. I-Pee-On-Everything. Yet, what was surprising that he was trying to be friendly. Eh? Cats did that when they wanted to be in friendly terms, right? ''Well? You have not come to pee on my as a whole this time, have you?'' Perhaps his shoes and clothes were not satisfying enough for the kitty cat.

What's it like? "It's like home. It has walls, and ceilings. It also has a roof and a pool." It was a house after all. Or was she asking what Disney was like? "I love Disney. I have lived in a Disney resort all of my life. First I lived in California. And now Florida." He smiled. "I would like you to come visit. And you don't have to tell your mum that you are going to Disney. Just that you are staying with a friend in Orlando." He nodded. He really did want her to visit.

He wouldn't be around anymore to keep his friend out of trouble leaving it to the boy's girlfriend to handle.
Hmmm, Josh? Trouble?
...
She didn't think about that before until now.
"Nooo, I'm sure he'll be as troublesome as a prefect." she smirked, glancing over to her boyfriend. Well, that could go either way actually. Prefects were supposed to be role models weren't they? Yet everyone else had problems with them. Hmmm, probably not the best analogy then.

Selina looked at Evelyn and extended her hand, "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you. I'm Selina Skylar. You must be Evelyn." She was being as nice as she could, but in all honesty she felt so embarrassed by her slip up of not even seeing the girl. She wanted to attribute it to the fact that she was looking for familiar faces and she didn't know Evelyn well, but deep down she knew that she had just messed up... she didn't see her.
Then Selina's gaze left Evelyn when she heard the familiar voice of her Quidditch Captain Simon. Or now was he not her Captain? Well she assumed that he would always be her Captain. He was her friend and Quidditch is what allowed them to even be friends... so he would be Captain Simon and maybe even Professor Bennett depending on her mood.
Once she returned his grin Selina heard him mention something about having all of his friends around him. This comment made her smile even broader. She was always surrounded with much older friends, even Kurumi who was her best friend was a year older than her, but she was glad that at least Simon looked at her friendship the way she did. She was thrilled to be counted in among the people he wanted to spend his last train ride with back home.
"All we need is Carter and it's like a little Quidditch reunion party," then she looked over and saw Evelyn sitting there next to her boyfriend and commented, "but-but your the girlfriend of a player and a player yourself so..." she knew she was putting her foot in her mouth and said, "I'm going to shut up now."
Hmmm. No, she wasn't blind so she did see the younger girl offer her hand as a greeting, but...well Evelyn just didn't do the whole 'handshake' thing. It was nothing against the girl but...with the Slytherin's extreme personal space issues and everything, it just wasn't going to happen.
"Skylar." she greeted, in the same cold-ish tone she had used with Kurumi as she eyed the hand. Eh.
On the other hand, the girl was quite amusing trying to make up for the few mistakes she'd made with Evelyn already. Almost to the point where the Slytherin mentally forgave her for practically trampling over her and totally not noticing her in the compartment from the start which was a SERIOUS crime in Evelyn's opinion.
For now though, she'd just stare at the girl, not really commenting on anything after giving her one word greeting. Stare. Staaaare.

Kurumi wasn't really aware of it, but Cookie Hater Evelyn was rubbing off a little on the lioness.
"Selina!" Kurumi chirped nearly jumping out of her seat - it would be rather difficult considering that the compartment was a little cramped. She patted the open space next to her instead.
How many Gryffindors would it take to make a Slytherin feel uncomfortable? Well, they were currently at a ratio of 4:1.
...
It was Kurumi's voice that had glancing away from the other Gryffindor, only have spotted... "Walnut!" she exclaimed, smiling down at the ADORABLE kitty who rubbed on Josh's leg. Good Merlin, that made her suddenly remember that she too had a cat, but where that half kneazle was, the Slytherin girl had no idea. If she wanted to hang out at the castle all summer, than that was fine by her.
Teehee, Walnut was here anyways. "How is the most adorable kitty in the world?" Hmmmm? Hmmmmmmmmm?! Why did he have to be so far away where she couldn't pet him?

No matter, there was always the next train ride to look forward to. Besides. Josh was way more important than the kitty. On the other hand, it didn't make the hazel eyed girl any less nervous as her imagination ran through plenty of ideas on what Josh needed to talk about. "Yes, of course..." she muttered, turning her gaze away from the kitty and to her boyfriend.

Flesh...ew. That was probably Kurumi's least favorite word in the English language. Just the way it sort of rolled off the tongue like a slug scooting across a log. That, and moist. Put them together and it made her skin crawl.
Maybe it was time for her to scoot away from the owl? Josh certainly seemed to be sending that signal. "Are you feeding her enough?" Kurumi didn't know of any owls that would want to eat people.
Kurumi's eyes widened when Josh mentioned Walnut's, erm, somewhat lack of tiolet training when it came to the older Gryffindor. "A-Are your robes alright?" she asked, sending the cat a glare. "Walnut seems to have changed his mind about peeing on your things recently. He seems to be angry whenever he sees the color yellow now." Which was very odd.
No, silly Pineapple boy, your things are safe for the day. Really, it wouldn't kill the boy for him to bend down and give him a nice solid scratch behind the ears would it? Perhaps some worship on his belly or under his chin?
But then, he heard the goddess herself call out his name. Bells sounded and the kitty was bathed in the scent of roses. MY ROOOOOOOOOSE PRINCESS! the cat purred as he jumped onto the seat and began to purr. Yes, this human knew how to worship and make his stubby paws curl.

"Hmm. More dancing." Aurora said, she could already dance. She didn't really want to have to do more of it... "Pink? Me? Are you serious?" Aurora chuckled. "Stars and shiny things. Yes. But no Pink and no Glitter. It gets everywhere. However, I'm sure a nice, bright purple would suit you." she teased.

He then watched Aurora as she slowly recovers from crying. He still cannot believe that his friend was actually capable of showing such emotion. Mordred's pretty much like a stone; he just keeps his emotions bottled up inside him.
Merlin, he can't even remember the last time he cried!
Mordred pulled a disgusted face as Aurora mentioned the color purple. "Purple?! Yuck." he said. "But if you're going to let me choose between that color and yellow, I'd choose purple." he said. "Who likes yellow anyway?"
"Anyway, I'm still surprised with the fact that Hogwarts will be offering dance lessons." he said. "Are we going to have some sort of promenade at school?" Sure, he was used to that, but having to wear a dress robe -- blah.

"Ariel's? Why don't I introduce you?" he smiled. That was easy to do. His father could get him to meet anyone. "I can even give you a Princess birthday. Even if it isn't your birthday."

Stare. Staaaare.
Selina suddenly felt very vulnerable under this older girl's eyes. The Slytherin seemed to be judging her from the first moment she laid eyes on her. Sure, maybe Selina should have noticed her when she first entered the compartment, but she was human, mistakes did happen. Honestly, if Selina was not trying to make a good impression the little thirteen year old spit fire would have said something. Actually she might say something. But her blue eyes look sideways at Kurumi and noted that maybe fighting would not be so good with Kurumi around. Kurumi was more for making friends than war. So she silently huffed and sat back in her seat.
But she swore if Evelyn had lazers in her eyes she could feel them boring into her skull underneath every little strand of red hair. Where did the girl learn to stare like that? Maybe it was a Slytherin talent. She wouldn't be surprised, a majority of Slytherin's always had a snit on their faces.
SPOILER!!: Josh

Ah...it was probably because he said that she could join them. ''There's no need to thank to me, Selina. You can join us whenever you want. Actually, i guess i have no right to tell you not to do so since there are other friends of you here. Not that i would ever do that anyway.''
Selina laughed when he said that he would never tell her what to do and said jokingly, "Good because I probably wouldn't listen to you anyway." When her laugh subsided she said, "Well I was just saying thank you because it was the polite thing to say. Kurumi has rubbed off on me."

Speaking of Kurumi it seemed her lioness sister had finally noted her presence among the pack and the snake. She was a little shocked at the volume she spat out in the small and cramped compartment. But then again it was Kurumi and there was always something very charming about Kurumi when she was being herself. Perhaps because it was so genuinely her. There was no act of trying to be nice and a good person. She just was.
"Kurumi." Selina said back giving her friend a quick side hug, "Where have you been? You just kind of disappeared once finals started."
A small smile spread across Dallin's lips as Louisa took his treat, but it was gone almost instantly. He watched, silent, as she curled up almost into a ball by the window, away from him. Clearly, obviously away from him. She didn't want to be near him. And - Oh.
He stared at her in shock for a moment. Leave me alone. If it hadn't been so obvious that she didn't want to be with him he would have asked 'What?' Because he had to have misheard her...but no. She wanted him to leave. She was done talking to him. She was done looking at him. Louisa, who always seemed to love being around him, was telling him to leave.
Was this because he'd gotten angry with her? That would make sense. He didn't ask. She told him to leave her alone. He stood up slowly, looking at her the whole time. He moved toward the door without thinking and as he pulled it open he whispered, "I guess I'll talk to you next term." Because it was clear that she wasn't going to call him, now. She probably wouldn't even want to write to him.

Aurora smiled, "You don't have to get me anything..." she said, just to be polite. 'Course she loved presents but she couldn't demand them... that would be rude...
She pushed a few strands of stray red hair away from her face and smiled, "I think you'd look good in yellow. Like a lovely little sunflower of happiness." she teased. Of course she knew that Mordred was more likely to wear black or green or something but it was fun to take the mickey.
"Hmmm, I guess. A prom would be good... though I'll probably have no-one to go with." she laughed, "I'm just too much trouble." Unless she magically found someone over the holidays but that was highly unlikely. "If we do have a ball thing then Dress Robes will be on our school lists, so it's not like it will be a surprise." which sucked, she liked surprises.
"Want a Jelly Baby?" she produced a white paper bag from the pocket of her robes and popped a green jelly baby into her mouth. It screamed when she bit into it and red, strawberry flavoured sauce poured out onto her tongue. "They're good. German made." she said, offering him the bag.
Janice felt like an intruder so she decided NOT to join them after all.
She then found Penny, Fee and another guy sitting, and so she asked them.
"Hey, Penny, Mind if I join you? The last compartment that I went into was answered by Aurora, but she was crying.." She said. The people in this compartment looks nicer.
" Nice to meet you Janice" Willaim told her. "So what are your plans for the simmer?" Willaim asked Janice. " How d you know Fee?" William asked Janice.

Louisa didn't need to check if he was even looking at her. She felt his eyes on her, and it made her whole body tingle. She heard the sliding of the door and tilted her head to see him pausing and talking. Talk next term. Yeah. It sounded weird to her, she planned on calling him once every two week, write to him when she had done something interesting.. she even wanted to plan a list of activities they could do once meeting in the Leaky Cauldron!
She didn't reply. She couldn't. Just a sad look was sent his direction. Once he was out of sight, she'd convince herself to calm down. Forget about everything he'd said and start her summer all over again. She shouldn't need Dallin to be happy- it wasn't logical to need him.

Tyler wondered down the corridor of the train, glancing every so often into a compartment to check if it was empty or not. So far he was having no luck. He dragged his trunk behind him along with his owl, Domino who was making constant noises to make sure his owner knew how annoyed he was, he hated being in his cage and what had Tyler put him in? A cage. It wasn't like he had a choice, if he could he'd have the snowy bird flying all over the place. He wouldn't risk loosing him, although his pet had a better brain than him he doubted that'd happen.
After passing what must have been the 50th compartment, he found an empty one. He shoved his trunk away and sat with his owl cage on his lap, trying to hush him.

compartment #2
SPOILER!!: Simon & Josh
Kurumi sat back in her seat as she listened to the slight banter between Simon and Josh. Wait, Josh and Riley weren't on good terms? Well, this was rather unfortunate....Why did it always seem like she was on good terms with two people who seemed to hate each other for existing?
"E-Evelyn," she said bowing her head slightly. Kurumi's eyes did widen just a bit when she heard her being called by her own name and not Cookie Girl. They had spent a little more time together outside of the classroom - and outside of Kurumi handing Josh cookies - so perhaps that had something to do with it.

Hmmm. No, she wasn't blind so she did see the younger girl offer her hand as a greeting, but...well Evelyn just didn't do the whole 'handshake' thing. It was nothing against the girl but...with the Slytherin's extreme personal space issues and everything, it just wasn't going to happen.

Apparently she wouldn't be able to.
No matter, there was always the next train ride to look forward to. Besides. Josh was way more important than the kitty. On the other hand, it didn't make the hazel eyed girl any less nervous as her imagination ran through plenty of ideas on what Josh needed to talk about. "Yes, of course..." she muttered, turning her gaze away from the kitty and to her boyfriend.
...
"Now...?" Like, right now did he want to talk?

"Of course not Josh...but sometimes tricking people into getting hurt on their own and not getting your own hands dirty," or in trouble Simon added to himself, "can perhaps be just as satisfying." Not that either situation was something the graduating Gryffindor was part of all to often, other then dealing with his older brother that was.
Simon looked down as a certain feline made his presence known by rubbing against Josh's leg. "Gonna miss me, Walnut?" he asked rhetorically with a smile as he reached down and scratched the feline behind the ears. Looking around he could almost feel the tension between Evelyn and Selina and tried to decide how best to defuse things when he remembered what he had to do.
"Oops I almost forgot...I have gifts for you tow as well," he said looking between Josh and Selina as he straightened back to his feet seeing as Kurumi had already been given her own. The boy dug into his other robe pocket and pulled out the small wrapped parcel before turning and reaching up onto the rack and pulling down the broom he wasn't keeping for his own use and was very nearly new.
"For you..." Simon spoke holding the broom out to his bestie to take. As he had mentioned to Kurumi, he wasn't planning on playing much after school and it seemed a shame for him to keep both broom gifts from his birthday and Josh had no broom of his own. "And no arguments...I'm giving it to you and thats final," he added with a smirk having anticipated the older boy would probably protest.
"And for you Selina," he said turning to the younger Gryffindor, offering the box to her. Simon hoped he had made the right decision and she liked what he had chosen for her. The sentiment had been the most important part which he would explain once she had seen what was inside.

Nessie had just been running up and down the train trying to catch Puffles. He had decided to have some fun and decided to run a way from her. She had luckily now caught him and he was in her arms. She started heading back to her compartment. She kept on peeping through the other compartments incase she saw somone she recognised. She was most of all hoping to see Tyler. She still hadn't managed to apologize to him and she just kept feeling worse and worse about herself.
O_______O
Nessie couldn't believe her eyes. Right infront of her she saw him sitting all alone in an empty compartment. "Hi." she said nervously. She was going to apologize to him today, even if she wasn't too ready. She was just highly anxious of how he was going to react. "Um...Can..I..talk to you?" she asked watching his face for some sort of reaction. She needed to talk to him about quite a few things. She knew Rose didn't exactly want Nessie to talk to Tyler about what she knew yet, but Nessie was only going to say a little of it. She wasn't going to give Rose away.
Ness walked in cautiously watching Tyler, as to make sure he wasn't going to kick her or anything. She put her hand in her wand pocket just incase. She didn't know if Tyler was still mad at her or not. She then took a seat opposite him and nervously started thinking what she was going to say to him. She had been over it many times, but she felt as though she had forgetten what she was going to say.

She didn't know if Tyler was still mad at her or not. She then took a seat opposite him and nervously started thinking what she was going to say to him. She had been over it many times, but she felt as though she had forgetten what she was going to say.
Of all the people to randomly appear in the compartment it had to be Nessie... This was going to be awkward. Tyler looked up at her as she walked into the compartment. Part of him wanted to get up, give her a huge grin and await for one of her big hug greetings. The other wanted to be a thousand miles away from her, and this compartment. The rest of him just didn't know what he wanted to do. He sat there staring at her for a few moments until he he felt a sharp pain shoot through his finger. "Dom" he mumbled, pulling his now scarlet finger from the birds cage. He'd been bitten.
Returning his attention to Nessie he said "I don't see why not" he shrugged as he wrapped the sleeve of his jacket around his wounded finger. "What is it?" he asked.
