Eep!

"Professor Lafay!" she blurted out, turning to look to the Professor in shock surprise. Letting her death grip loosen off the table, the Slytherin quietly cleared her throat and smiled, laughing silently. Didn't...didn't the professor already leave? She could have sworn the professor was up at the staff table.

"Oh, erm..." Glancing towards the boy, she had to hide that glare very very well before turning her attention back to their Head of House, deciding to let a calm and innocent expression hide the glare instead. "Nothing at all, really. Just...you know how young students can be, and we're..." About to sew his mouth shut? "...helping him out. He may as well have taken the wrong path, if you know what I mean." Hehe, right?

...Right? "Have to keep up Slytherin's reputation and all, right? Don't want any trouble makers ruining it." Ohhh boy. How she could just, laugh right now out of nerves.

Matt had been enjoying the scene, but a Professor had just appeared. He took in a deep breath and decided to look around. There was something had been bugging him. This year had begun quite interesting, but she had ignored him. The girl that had started his year of to be one of the most exicting had just run away from him. Yes, granted that he had been looking at her and yes, granted that he looked creepy for just seeing that girl talk to herself. He smiled, but it couldn't have been helped. She was talking to herself, Matt had never seen anything like that. He took out his wand and decided to put on the table. for some strange reason his robes where no longer fitting him. He wondered if he had accidently grabbed someone else? Aish i might have to send them an owl, if my magic fails. he told himself. He tugges on his collar that was choking it and with a butter knife that he had been staring at grabbed it and cut a bit. "Much better, can anyone pass me some pumpkin juice?" he asked

Elyon slowly approached the Slytherin table. She didn't know anyone there, so she had no idea why she was doing it, but she was. Maybe she would make some friends? Yeah right. I'm out of my mind! A muggleborn Gryffindor probably isn't someone Slytherins will want to talk to. She shook the thought out of her head, smiled, and sat down looking for someone to befriend.

"It's too early to say if It truly is good to be back." Truebridge answered, "But so far I think it is. I'll look forward to seeing you in my classes." He paused, "As well as the rest of Slytherin." He glanced along the table and then at Trixie again.

Then he slipped his shades back on and headed up to the staff table.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a young girl approaching the Slytherin table. 'A gryffindor interesting.' He told himself. People mingled, but he wondered who's friend she was. As she sat by him he nodded at her. "Pass the pumpkin juice." He told her.

'Let's have some fun' he told himself and smiled at his thought

Was that...? Emma turned around and hugged her blonde cousin, Trixie, tightly. "TRIXIE!!! Congrats on Head Girl! Sorry.. It looked like you were super busy!" she smiled and giggled. "Ha.. hmm.. Maybe... How are you? How was your summer? How's it like being Head Girl? Are you still allowed to play Quidditch?" she asked, excitedly.. Yep.. Emma loved to ask questions.
She laughed. Oh Alex.. she thought. Emma blushed very slightly at his compliment and then gave him a curtsy. "Why thank you, I'm glad I look snazzy in my robes," she added, giggling.

She smirked and laughed, she twirled a strand of blonde hair around her finger. "No, I never never never waste a minute. If I did then someone else might have already thought of a super awesome plan to prank someone or the year would be over before you know it!!" she said, playing along. Emma didn't really waste a minute: she worked hard at Hogwarts, got good grades, played Quidditch, hung out with friends, and helped out friends in trouble. "Same here... But still.. what would be a good prank that wouldn't detract any points from Slytherin and wouldn't get us expelled?" she said, thinking out loud. Hmm.. she couldn't think of one.. She laughed again. "We could.." she began in a loud voice and then immediatley lowered it to a whisper, leaning towards him. "We could start think of a excellent prank that we could pull at the end of the year or would that be to boring?"

Emma smiled. "Psh.. No you don't! You know me quite well!" she exclaimed happily. She grinned again. Wow, this candy sounded awesome.. Could she use it for one of her and Alex's pranks? "Ooh... sounds fantastic! It would be good to use as a prank.." she said and motioned her eyes towards their beloved DADA professor. Muhaha.. Maybe she should wait till the end of her seventh year to do that? But then she would be wasting her time.. "So am I! I'm really excited about this year. It should be a fantastic one." she said.

Emma turned bright red and coughed. "Huh, way to change the subject Sel! " she began teasingly. Then becoming more serious, she continued. "Umm.. Well.. I believe you.. um.. have met him..".

Elyon looked up at a Slytherin boy a few years older than her. Trying to be friendly, she smiled, hoping she wasn't showing how intimidated she was. She handed him a goblet of pumpkin juice and extended her arm so she could shake his hand. "I'm Elyon James. It's nice to meet you!" She smiled brightly, hoping to make friends.

Pfffftt. *giggle!snort* Whew, okay. She was done now.

Zoey gave Prefect Rainbow's boyfriend a smile and waved. "Hello Aaron. I would be Zoey." Psha. Well at least she was done laughing her head off. And she breathe properly once again Heh. No more of that.

She figured she ought to say something, however, nothing was coming to mind. Hmmm... Yup. Thought blank. She poked the side of her head as though to initiate so sort of thought, but nothing came. So instead she smiled at Mister Boyfriend, trying not to look weird.

Heh. Like that was gonna happen.

Selena giggled and smiled. "Well, you'll make it on the team this term! And not on the reserve either! I'm fairly certain of it," Selena said. She knew Emma was talented. She nodded but then she shrugged. She wasn't exactly sure if that was such a great prank idea... however, Emma seemed so excited to use it. Plus Diggy would probably be proud... but he might get into trouble. "Sounds lovely," Selena said though, smiling. However, she followed Emma's gaze to the headmaster and their DADA professor and she frowned. "Emma, you are not pranking the headmaster," she whispered harshly. Because she wasn't going to let her friend ruin her life like that. Ugh. Who knew how much trouble Emma would get into for that!? Plus Emma could get expelled!

Selena rolled her eyes, smirked and shrugged. "I'm me for a reason," she pointed out, and Selena had been changing topics for a while. She had another little smirk as she actually started talking. "Really? Who?" Selena asked as she looked around the Great Hall. Hmm... "So, are you two hitting it off? Are you guys dating yet?" Selena asked before she stood to look around. Hmmm... who be Emma's man - or uhm... guy?

"Well Miss Elyon," he took the goblet. "It is very nice to meet you. It has been a while since I spoke to such a pretty little thing." he told her and took a sip from his goblet. It had been a while since he spoke to any new comers and even to young students. He usually avoided it if it was possible but this year he wanted some excitement. He flexed his pinky down to put the goblet down without any noise and shook her hand. "I, Miss Elyon am Matthew Smith." he said standing up and bowing. He was definitely going to have fun this year. "But if you ever call me Matthew I will forever ignore you." he told her with a smile as he straightened himself from the bow. "Call me Matt."

Lighten up... Evelyn thought she needed to lighten up? Oh and now she was giving Marie a look. Marie just laughed and rolled her eyes at her friend. "Whatever Ev."

Glancing up at the staff table then back at her friends Marie just shrugged. "Eh, the staff always seem grumpy at the start of term. That's nothing new." Them being grumpy would be why she never went up to their table to welcome any of them back. That and the fact that she really didn't care fro many of them.

Hehe, Sierra was cracking her up. Walk the dog. Looking between the two girls Marie got great idea for a new name for the dog. "We could always call him Wonder Mutt." Because to her it was a wonder anyone would want to date that mutt. Then again, he did like to prey on the girls that were new to the school, the ones that didn't know what he was like. Of course once they seen for themselves that's usually when they dumped him and he moved on to his next victim.

Bwahaha...

Now that stupid boy was getting it from Ev too. That'll teach him to talk about her favorite professor. "A VERY tough time." she added in agreeance with what Evelyn was saying. Really, this boy had no clue what he was up against here. The She-Snakes took pride in giving others a tough time.

She had been so wrapped up in her anger with the little cretin sitting next to her that she forgot Finn was there with them. "Right, no worries." Not that she was worried, she was just trying to be polite.

Raising an eyebrow she looked between Finn and Evelyn. So, they spent time together on the train did they. "He saved the day? I bet he did." Or at least he tried. She didn't like the sound him saving the day for Ev. She had heard things about Mr. Finn over there so she had a pretty good idea how he would save the day in a cold, empty compartment. All alone with a cold girl. She would have liked to have been there to see what happened to that boy if he even tried getting his lips anywhere near hers to you know... warm her up. She could just imagine what would happen if anyone but Josh's lips came anywhere near her friend. She pitied the fool that tried that one.

Her attention was pulled away from Ev and Finn when she heard Evan again. Really? He was just totally ignoring her like she wasn't even sitting there. Even after she spoke directly to him. So, was this how it was going to be now that he was a prefect? She was going to be invisible to him because he thought he was too important to be her friend now? Whatever... she had another prefect sitting here talking to her. She would let Evan have his little moment right now but she would have a word with him once they were back at the common room.

Where did Lafay come from? Marie was sure she had seen the woman go up to the staff table. Why was she lurking around behind them? She looked over to Evelyn wondering what exactly she would say was going on there. Knowing how sneaky her friend could be she knew there was nothing to worry about. "Right Professor, we were just teaching the little kid here about proper Slytherin etiquette," and what wold happen to him if he got in their way again. "Like Evelyn said, we don't need any trouble makers ruining anything for us." Especially those that got on the bad side of the She-Snakes.

Seeing movement from the corner of her eye she looked over just in time to see Professor Truebridge head up to the staff table. Yeah, her and Ev would definitely have to make a trip to his office later.

Georgiana saw a Slytherin boy waving and smiling at her. She never thought she would end up in Slytherin, it was a surprise for sure, but didn't mind that. She smiled and waved back and said "Hi, I'm Georgiana what's your name?"



"You are new here too? I never thought that hehe" she said smiling " I know! it was a surprise to me when the sorting hat said Slytherin, but I don't mind in fact I like it" Georgiana said cheerfully. "Oh, I'm excited too!"


While walking, Georgiana saw a girl talking to her, she was welcoming the first years and was the Head Girl. She already felt good in her house. "Thank you, I'll keep that in mind" she said smiling.

Why there was no food at the table yet? Was this some kind of punishment? Did everyone at Hogwarts misbehave epically last term? Perhaps, this was a test. A test to see who could withstand longer lapses of time without drink or food. Lulu Patterson still refused to have a cookie that some stranger had left at their table. Even if she wanted one, it seemed impossible for that weird boy who nearly catapulted himself with his luggage trolley at the platform had taken the entire box.

The only one who seemed more miserable and bored than Lulu Patterson at the moment was Bravely Bold Sir Robin. Long had he abandoned his spoon smashing and resorted to further decorating his owner's plates with stolen silverwear from the Slytherin table. Lulu wasn't minding him much as she had pulled out a small notepad from her book. She began writing down her observations about the staff table (she kept using the words 'dull', 'boring' and 'adults' over and over).

Robin chattered, sliding around the empty plates as he made his way to the end of the Slytherin table. Nose in the air, Robin caught the scent of a familiar girl. He gave a loud squeak and leaped from the table. Quickly, he scurried across the hall towards the Gryffindor table.

Elyon stared at the older boy in disbelief. No one had ever called her 'Miss Elyon,' or 'pretty little thing.' He was polite to her, she was glad he was being nice, but he was really odd. She turned a little red as he bowed. Was she supposed to curtsey? Her head was spinning in confusion. She stood up and did a little curtsey, or at least attempted to do one, failing miserably. Blushing even more, she sat back down. "Erm... nice to meet you Matt." She made note not to call him Matthew. "Not to be rude, but do you always act this strange? It's really interesting and unique." She didn't mind it after awhile. Everyone was different!

Merlin's pants!!!

Mia needed some girl time. Not that she hadn't been enjoying her conversations with those over at the Hufflepuff table but they were all boys and quite frankly you just couldn't tell boys everything like you could with girls.

So she decided to head over to the Slytherin table and find either Marie, Evelyn or Destiny. Although every time she and Destiny got together they ended up doing something pretty crazy. Last years costume party was a fine example of that. Crazy dancing and ending up covered in jelly.

She stood at the end of the table and stood on tip toe trying to find at least one of them. There was a flash of blond hair and assuming that it was Marie, Mia took a step to head toward the girls direction.

Bean, bean, where was the bean?!

Jake had accidentally flung an Every Flavour Bean in this direction and he was so sure it was the colour of his new favourite... so he had to go find it. And of course he had totally forgotten that he was a wizard with the ability to summon things.

Details, details...

Suddenly, "Found it!" Jake exclaimed, and dived down to a spot just beneath a bench, noticing but not really taking into account the girl walking in that direction.

Emma smiled and hugged her friend. "You think so? Thanks, I'm really hoping that I will." she explained. She laughed, uncomfortably and her face turned into a frown. "Ha.. wait.. Lafay's the Headmaster this year? Never mind. I never said what I just said!" she whispered back, blanching. Whoopsie? My bad? she thought and put her head on Sel's shoulder, avoiding anyone's gaze for a few minutes.

She smirked her Malfoy smirk. She couldn't help it now, it was as if it happened over night and she couldn't stop it. She giggled for a bit until the interrogating commenced. "A friend of mine.... To be precise he's my partner in crime AND no.. we're not dating.. We're just partner in crime's. I'll give you hint.. He's in our year and he's a Slytherin." she added, sticking her tongue out at Sel. She didn't want to tell who it was in the open because what if he was standing behind her? "The name starts with an A" she added, quickly.

" Yes, it would be cool if your mom would become minister" Rex told Sierra. "Are you releated to anyone else who had been at HogWarts?" Rex asked Sierra." I will tell my friends that you would think your mom would make a great minister" Rex explained to Sierra.

Elyon was adorable. He smiled at her as she curtsy and failed at it. He grabbed her to make sure that she did not fall. "Odd never been called strange before," he smiled at her. "Yes this is new but if I go back to being Mr. Angry all the time I won't have any fun." He crossed his shoulders. "Besides my new step brother has the same attitude as I do so I have to change who I am completely." he told her. "Miss Elyon, it is not rude at all and I did used to act like this, before father died. Then I went through and angry phase and now I am back." he told her. "Is it really? Well I am glad you find it that way."

So fixated on that blond hair about halfway up the table and not really expecting someone to dive on the floor in front of her, Mia's foot hit something squishy before she felt herself falling.

With no time to flail or even try and keep her balance. All Mia could manage to do as she was falling face first towards the floor was to think 'why did this keep happening to her?'

Thankfully, for her at least, was that the person who had dived in front of her had managed to cushion her fall as she unceremoniously landed on top of them with a soft 'Ooomph.'

Selena grinned, "I know so," she said proudly. Because she did, she was psychic like that. Yuuup. She hugged Emma back with a smile. Selena tilted her head slightly giving Emma a bit of a confused expression. "Isn't... Headmaster Tate the... DADA professor?" she asked in confusion. Because she really had no clue now.

She pat Emma's back reassuringly. Mmm... no one probably realized anyways. Hehehe. "There, there," she said soothingly.

Selena was never really good at guessing games. She continued to give Emma a bit of a blank stare. DON'T MAKE HER GUESS!! Emma had to just give her the name. Seriously. It would save time. "A friend...? Alright, that just narrowed down about... a lot of the school," Selena said, looking around again. Okay, Slythie, their year. Lalala. narrowing down. "Mmm... you're making things complicated, so I'm just going to list names that start with A's till you start blushing," Selena said with a smirk, sitting back down.

"Andrew?" she asked. Who the heck was Andrew? Whatever, worth a try. Heh.

In possibly the most comical scene in over a year, Jake grabbed the bean just in time to feel someone land on top of him, causing his hands and knees to splay out beneath him and his stomach and chest to hit the floor.

Ooomph pretty much summed that up... yeah.

Even though Jake hadn't hit his head, he was immediately confused and slightly stupidified. "Is your face okay?!" he blurted out, craning his head to look around.

Why was it dark?

Oh... sunglasses.

The artfully floppy blonde hair of one Salmandrius Beaugustus Malfoy was given a practiced flick as the twelve-year-old reached for his goblet of pumpkin juice. His upper lip twisted in a sneer when the unbearably common taste of the juice touched his tongue. How could Hogwarts serve such swill?

The least they could do, he thought as his brown eyes caught sight of a stray Hufflepuff who had wandered over into the exclusive midst of the Slytherin table, was serve the Slytherins the premium stuff.

He released a melodramatic sigh and replaced the goblet before resolutely returning to his sulk. With pointy chin rested upon his pale hand, he cast a baleful glance around the Great Hall, wondering once again why his parents insisted that he mingle with such commoners.

Oh what a sight this must be.

Mia was trying her darndest to get off the boy she had landed on but her feet were tangled in her robes and she was trying to free them without causing any physical damage to the guy underneath her. Although she though she might have kneed him in the back a couple of times.

"My face is fine." She grunted, finally giving up with the kicking and just rolling off of him and onto the floor. Raising herself into a sitting position and blowing the hair out of her face, Mia finally got a look at the guy she had almost squashed to death.

"More importantly though. Are you okay?"

And why on earth was he wearing sunglasses at night? And inside?
