"Just a plain white snowy owl named Jasmine. My dad gave her to me when I was six so that I'd quit using his to owl my uncle and aunt in America. They moved across the seas when I was three because they didn't feel safe here anymore." Jamie frowned and looked at one of the candles. The flickering flame reflecting into her eyes. "And as far as the house elf thing, thats just cruel. To do something like that isn't right. Not when they are just fine with you being down there for however long you like. I would never be that..." she was going to say heartless but she just let it go. She didn't want to fight with anyone. "And what does me being a mind reader have to do with anything?"

Jamie turned from the flame and looked at Tyrone smiling. "Thanks. Jasmine was the flower my Aunt and Uncle gave me ever year for my birthday. My mom thought I was insane to love it so much." She held back a squeal when he mentioned he had a kitten. They were so adorable and fluffy. Her mother was allergic to cats so she was never allowed to have one. "What does it look like? Maybe you can choose a name for it by it's description. Or you can just pull a name out of thin air. OR you can name it something strange. My uncle named his cat Peaches because they were his favorite fruit." She smiled at him as he took her side on the House Elf conversation, even though it wasn't a competition. It was true though and she wasn't going to let someone tell her any different.

" No lasting damage' Rex told Ava Jade. " Bruised ego oe bruised pride could have been the case" Rex laughed." Well, glad it was not worse" Rex said to Ava Jade. "Well, you know us Gryffindors, the dangerous ones" Rex explained to Ava Jade. " So what are you looking forward to this term?" Rex asked Ava Jade.

She smiled as he winked at her. "Your surprises are quite delightful! And even if you do, combine those words, it could mean that you look funny, as in you look comedic!" She grinned.

Elyon left her hands where Matthew had placed them, but she continued to smiled at Josh, though she thought a little frown might've slipped on to her face. She really hoped it hadn't. She then looked back at Matt. "At least give him a chance! I mean, you never know! I don't think he's an idiot!" She smiled brightly at the other Gryffindor boy, hoping he really wasn't an idiot.

Alex chuckled some when Katelynn blushed. Aaw, did anyone see that? His firstie just blushed! Cute. "Well I'm a transfer from New York yes." he nodded. He had been in England all summer and practically his whole childhood but still. "Quite sneaky, how do you know that?" he grinned. He wasn't asking an angry tone, merely curiously.

Excited as well, heh that meant she was excited. Again; cute. "Yeah for some of them. I took similar lessons at my last school so it's not so different for me. But flying and Defence Against the Dark Arts will be fun. And you?"

Arabella noticed him wave, and waved back. A big smile spread across her face. The people here are really nice! Maybe this first year wont be as bad as i thought...

"Well, I kinda overheard you saying it to someone else... at the feast - I wasn't listening! I just noticed that it was you at the same time as you said it.." she said with a small voice.

"Well, I'm looking forward to charms and flying. My cousin has taught me some Quidditch, it's so much fun! It's a bit annoying that we aren't allowed to bring our own brooms - I got a Nimbus 4000 for my birthday a couple of months ago!" she said eagerly and started to loose up a bit.

Alex laughed and rolled his eyes. "Did you stalk me? Did you?" he wiggled his eyebrows.

"Ah yes flying is awesome." he smiled. First years couldn't bring their own brooms? That was sad.. "Oh well I bet they have great brooms for you." A Nimbus 4000? A-w-esome. "Really? How cool have you tried it?"

Katelynn felt like she was going to die of embarrassment "What? oh, no no no no, I didn't - I mean, I don't! I never did, I just accidentally - it wasn't on purpose!"
She sighed. "You make me confused, Alex.." she said with a small smile.
Oh yes please! Change the subject to brooms again; "Yeah, the rush you get when you're just racing through the air.. It really is amazing!" She dazed off for a moment, thinking about flying... she missed it, and was looking forward to their flying lessons!
"Yes, it's an amazing broom!" she said, when she had come back to planet earth. "It's so fast, and it flies smoothly through the air - it turns by just the slightest touch from me"
Katelynn actually really liked Alex - talking to him was easy, and he could just make her relax. She hoped to herself that everyone at Hogwarts was like this, though the odds of that were very small. But she couldn't tell him that, no way! She would just die of shame if those words ever crossed her lips - then she would sound like a stalker for sure. Or just some insane person, though neither sounded very appealing to Katelynn.

Alex had to put his hand over his mouth to keep himself from laughing when Katelynn stuttered. "I never meant to confuse you Katelynn." he smiled genuinly.

He listened to her talking about flying and he couldn't do anything other than nod and smile. He agreed with, well everything she had just said. "Flying is amazing. Have you thought about going for the try outs? First years rarely make the team but exceptions happen." he winked.

Ava Jade laughed good-naturedly, then, in response to his question, said, "Well other than seeing everyone again -- and making new friends -- I'm pretty excited about classes and Quidditch. I've played Quidditch pretty much all my life, but this is the first term my parents have let me try out. They were always worried I'd get too distracted from my studies if I got a position, since I'm pretty competitive..." She made a face. "They were probably right. But I've finally convinced them that I can keep up with both!"

" Quidditch and studies are hare to separate, but it is ver possible" Rex told Ava Jade." If you are competitive, you will do great in yoru studies and at Quidditch" Rex explained to Ava Jade." I will watch you play" Rex said to Ava Jade. " You have any more good stories?" Rex asked Ava Jade.

"Thanks!" she replied brightly. "Umm...not really." She laughed. "My friends and I have done some pretty dumb stuff, but nothing that makes for an interesting story, unfortunately. What about you? Any other bone-breaking, bruise-making stories?"

Georgiana was enjoying her food, everything tasted SOO good. While pouring some pumpkin juice in her glass, she heard someone's voice, it was the girl beside her.

So she turned around to greet her " Hello! nice to meet you Bella, I'm Georgiana" said smiling " I'm first year too!" said while taking a piece of her chicken " Excited for this new term?" she asked.

Emma giggled. That was a pretty good reason. She nodded. "Yes they would be! Very grateful." she said, starting to get a bit nervous about Quidditch now.. Oh dear... She winked back at him. If they didn't make it on the team then they'd probably make their own team.. just the two of them plus some others from different houses. And their team would rule.

She laughed and grinned widely. "Exactly" she added with a smirk. They would've been good twins..It was as if Alex could read her mind! Then thought about high-fiving him for less than a second. Hmm.. Should I? she thought and then high fived him because you can't leave your partner with his hand up like that for more than a mili second now could you.

Emma beamed Alex a happy smile. "Yeah, just a few similarities.. Ooh, how did you meet her?" she asked, curiously. Yep Emma was a curious one. She smiled again as he got excited when she mentioned Quidditch. She nodded. "Yes we should!! I don't remember what position Di plays as.. maybe it was Beater or Chaser? Or maybe even Keeper?" she thought out loud. Speaking of Di it reminded Emma of the annual thing she and Sel would do. Jumping off the treehouse! "Alex, do you like heights and treehouses? Because every year, most of the our year goes to the Treehouse and climbs up to the very top....And jumps off it. You won't get hurt, it's a ton of fun." she explained.

"Of course, I am." Cass said with a smile "I'm planning on getting into the best students' list this year." Stupid drama, getting in the way of what she wanted.. "How about you?"

"Come to think of it....I've never really seen you lose your cool before..." Cass said after minutes of thinking.

Nika walked over to the other tables trying to make some new friends. She stopped by the slytherin table and saw a girl who looked very bored and lonely like she was at the start. She remembered how awful it felt not having any one to talk to so she ran up to the girl and introduced herself. "Hey there I'm Nika Adler what's your name? Are you a first year too?"

Chisato smiled more, she was becoming very glad that she had met Cass. It was so refreshing to her to meet someone knew some of Japan. She had felt so alone here when she first arrived and saw she was one of a few Asians here so she had been doubting she would make many friends.
"Ah, that is good to hear. Which prefecture did he live in? Perhaps was it Tokyo, or Kyoto or Osaka?" she asked as she forced herself to eat another piece of roast beef. She knew she had to eat something.

" You welcome" Rex told Ava Jade." Well, sometimes dumb stuff makes for a good story' Rex said to Ava Jade." No stories for me, either" Rex said to Ava Jade. "So think you get more points than me in yoru classes and homework?" Rex asked Ava Jade.

"I think he was in Tokyo.." Cass said uncertainly. Then she noticed that Chisato looked liked she wasn't enjoying the food very much. "Chisato-Chan, are you alright?" She asked slowly. She was the older one here! She should be the one keeping an eye on her

Dianna laughed softly. "Just a one thumb?" she bit her lip.

"No, of course not." Dianna smirked. Anyways, Emma's way prettier and smarter than her. She have always felt that it was that way.

"Well, I actually thought about it, but as you said, first-years rarely makes the team, so I decided just to get to know Hogwarts a little better before I wanted to do it.."
"How about you?" she asked with a little smile. "Have you got any flying ambitions yourself?"

"Ah the prefecture of Tokyo, that is where I am from. My father and mother work at Nihon's Ministry of Magic there." Chisato said with a smile until Cass called her out her eating habits. She frowned slightly, she had not meant to worry her at all.
"Ah...please do not worry. It is no problem. It is that only do not enjoy the food here much.."

"Hmm..." Ava Jade faked a thoughtful face. "It depends on how badly I fail at Divination." She laughed. "And if I get on the Quidditch team and still have time for homework..." She paused for a minute, then teased, "Hufflepuff is gonna steal the house cup though. For real."

" Well, you will do good at all your classes" Rex told Ava Jade. " You have to make time for homwork if you want to stay on the Quidditch team" Rex explained to Ava Jade. " You are right, the only way you will get the house cup is literally steal it" Rex teased Ava Jade.

"Have you signed up for it?" Alex asked his partner curiously. The try outs were getting closer... Gulp. Yes, she high fived him back. Whenever a person didn't high five him a little part of him died inside. True story. And he hated when that happened. It made him just walk away awkwardly.


Right back to the Head Girl. "Oh it was very short she just introduced herself since I got sorted in Slytherin." he laughed. So yeah he didn't have any connection to the Head Girl. Which was pretty tragic, would be good to have one powerful person on his side in some situations. Heh.

"Hopefully it isn't beater." he grinned. Beater was his position. His!

Heights and treehouses were alright but jumping off them? Eh. Freaky. "You... You jump off them?!" he asked before bursting out laughing. He pictured all the third years in the middle of the jump. Oh dear.

Alex laughed and rolled his eyes. "I told you." he grinned and nudged her side. "So what class are you looking forward to?"

Alex laughed and shrugged. "Well I'm not the two-thumbs-up kind of guy." he chuckled. One thumb; yes. Two thumbs; No, no.

"Ha good." he winked. Rivalty wasn't good.

Alex nodded and smiled. "Good idea." he said. "Next year perhaps." he winked.

"Oh yeah I've signed up. Hopefully I'll get the beater position." he smiled fondly. He needed that position.
