"Well I am zure zat zis Rafe monsieur feels 'orrible for vat 'e did," Rafe continued. "And zat 'e eez doing everyzing 'e can to 'elp 'is brothzer, but per'aps you only know part of ze story?" Okay so the French thing was pretty ridiculous, but it was rather funny at the same time. He could have spoken in complete French, for he spent a year there, but that would have been a little too far. "And I am zure 'e vould like to make eet up to 'is friends and take zem out for butterbeer zome time, oui!?"

Elektra rolls her eyes. Yeah, that accent was not that great. Sounds more like German to me there. she says trying not to laugh, but she heard Selina say something and Elektra shrugs. "Sounds more like an older brother trying to pulls off a cheap French accent, but sounds more German to me."

When Rafe talked about helping Derian she heard something in his voice that for some reason made her believe him. It did not mean that he wasn't a right awful twit, but he was a right awful twit who was sorry.

Continuing on in the French accent Rafe said something about being sorry and butterbeer. Standing up from the bookshelf she was leaning on Selina moved to the bookshelf behind hers and uncovered Rafe.

"Only if you stop talking in that horrible French accent," she said lowering her voice bellow a whisper so Elektra could not hear, "wolf-boy." She added smiling. Maybe he wasn't so bad, but he needed to work on his people skills.

Elektra almost bursted out laughing, but then she paused at Selina looking at her confusingly and puzzled and mouthed to her. "wolf boy?" Elektra had no idea what she meant by that and she just shook her head and ignored that and she waited for Rafe to get rid of that French accent.

"Oh, hey!" Rafe said in his normal voice, "I didn't know you guys were here! Who was that annoying French guy? Is there a Beauxbatons transfer student here or something?" Rafe laughed, but that came to a halt the moment she said 'wolf-boy.' "Excusez-moi," Rafe coughed, "I mean excuse me?!" She was probably one of those girls that heard rumors because he was pretty sure no one that knew would utter a word. "I don't know what you've heard, but it's not true, but I don't suggest you don't spread rumors if you know what's good for you," Rafe didn't want to start any more conflict with these girls, but this wasn't something he'd joked about. He was very protective of his secret and he didn't like people making presumptions.

Rafe gave Elektra a sideways glance. "She didn't say that! She said 'Tolstoy,'" Rafe shook his head. How could someone have that great of hearing. Rafe could barely hear what she said because of his heightened senses. "He's a Russian writer, after all this is a library," he looked back to Selina, "Sorry, Selina I don't know if this library contains Tolstoy, though I hear Anna Karenina is an excellent book!"

Selina could see how protective he got at the mention of his secret and she replied whispering low so Elektra could not hear, "My boyfriend is a werewolf, I know the symptoms and the cycle. Don't insult my intellect. Plus your brother clarified it for me when I knew by both of your actions. you two are not that good at hiding it. Don't worry, I won't tell. That isn't the type of person I am."

When she pulled away from the whisper she gave him a look that translated to I promise, I won't tell. She knew that he barely knew her and that he would be hesitant to admit to his secret, but she was no moron. Demitri was a full blown werewolf and although she was not sure what the two boys were she knew they had some blood in them. There was no way they did not.

"So Elektra what do you say? Take the young man up on his offer for butterbeers?"

Rafe didn't know what to say. He didn't like a person he barely knew know his secret. But, he wasn't about to confirm it for her. She can think it all she wanted, but he wasn't ever going to come out straight with it, not yet at least. As for showing signs, he'd have to talk to Derian on that one to make sure they were more discrete by the next full moon. As for her boyfriend being full werewolf, that sounded interesting. The boy must not go to Hogwarts because he knew of the Headmaster's tolerance of werewolves. He was lucky to even be here.

"Yeah! Butterbeers!" he said as cheery as possible. "We can get some at the Kitchens, or we can postpone our date for Hogsmeade when it's open?" He was trying to make up his rudeness to them, so he would leave it up to them for how he could do it.

Violet was walking around lightly humming to herself as her nose was buried in a book that read, Fanatic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She was completely intrigued by it with every page she turned. Violet's violet eyes were scanning over every word rapidly. Whenever she read something that she liked she would make a gasp or a very faint comment,"I knew that! Oh my gosh! I know that too! Really? Wow! Amazing!" She carried with her a little pink notebook and whenever she would read something she didn't know, she would stop walking and open her notebook, take out her pen and take down the notes she wanted to remember. Violet would do this repeatedly over and over.

By his change of topic she knew that he had closed the werewolf conversation. That was fine with her, it was his secret and if he wanted to pretend that she did not know that was fine with her. Although Derian did not so their stories had major gaps in them. Of course Selina knew what was the truth and so did Rafe, but she would allow him to move on.

But speaking to Rafe did remind her about the Cycle. She would have to go down to the Dungeons to visit Demitri in the Slytherin Common Room later. He was always really tired at this time of month. It broke her heart to see him so broken. And he knew that it upset her so he was always trying to be upbeat around her. But it was not his fault that he was what he was. And she cared for him the same no matter what he was.

"Doesn't matter to me. You choose Elektra."

Selina heard a bubbly voice making continual comments over the past five minutes. Finally going to investigate she saw the small blonde with her nose in her book. "Violet... what are you doing?"

Violet gasped and shrieked a little bit dropping her books. She covered her mouth by the noise she made and then quickly knelt down picking up her books. Violet brushed herself off a little bit and then ran her fingers through her hair lightly and then looked to Selina, who she discovered was the reason why she got scared and therefore made her drop her books. When she asked what she was doing Violet looked down at the book for a moment and put it behind her saying quickly,"Selina hi...Um....nothing?" A nervous smile shortly followed and she fluttered her eyelashes.

Eh, what to say? Why was Alex in the library anyways? Think of something; quick! "Err, I just happened to end up here." The truth, alright that would do. "I haven't been in here before so I figured I should explore the castle a bit." And he ended up in the library, that's... Adventurous. Not. To his defence he hadn't known it was the library being a transfer and all. Oh well. It was too late to prove to this girl he was cool. That ship had sailed a loong time ago.

"Yeah I mean I have to put all the Prefect's years inprinted." he chuckled. So he could stay out of trouble at least when they were near. "Can be good to know." Future references.

He grinned back and shook his head. "No I don't expect you to. I'm only in my third year." he nodded. Third year and first year. Heh.

In his exploration of the school Dallin had passed by the library. Soon curiousity got the better of him, and he found his way back to it. He slowly walked by the rows of shelves without looking at the books closely. He didn't have a certain book he was looking for; he just wanted something to catch his eye. So far, it wasn't happening.

Kay walked through the books looking for anything on DADA. She wanted to start studying for her OWLS and she was going to start with something she liked. Walking she looked up and found a book that looked good. She pulled it down and started reading.

"Oh that stinks" Avery sighed scrunching up her forehead.
"I don't really have a good excuse now do I? Ah well I just can't wait till classes really start. I want to meet all new people!" Avery said excitedly.

Elyon looked over and saw a girl she recognized. Yes! It was the girl who was lirting with Christopher on the train! The whole idea of somebody liking her older brother amused her, but the girl seemed nice. She walked over to her, noticing the book she was reading. "I love that book! I must've read it a hundred times. I love animals, magical and not." She grinned and held out her hand. "I'm Elyon James. I belive we met briefly on the train." The girl didn't look like she remembered her. "I'm Christopher's younger sister." She flipped a long, sandy braid behind her shoulder and smiled brightly. She and Christopher had the same electric blue eyes, and this girl probably recognized them, even though their hair colours were opposite.

Suppressing a giggle Selina said, "Sure it's nothing. Did I scare you Violet?"

Selina took down a mental note to not sneak up on Violet any more. The probability that she would flail her arms about in confusion and cause bodily harm was great. So although the current display was amusing... Selina liked her head on her shoulders.

When her eyes caught the book she perked up her eyebrow, "So what are you reading little Ms. Violet LaVeela?"

Violet turned her head towards a girl who was the same age as her with sandy blonde hair that was tied into a long braid. She looked at her book and then at Elyon and smiled brightly. "Hello Elyon, yes I do remember you! It's wonderful to meet you! I love this book too, and oh my gosh, I love animals too!" Violet already liked this girl since they both shared the same interest for creatures. She had also noticed Elyon was a Gryffindor, she wondered if she knew Selina and Christopher. She also noticed her say her last name was James...she wondered if she was related to Christopher in any way. They did have the same electric blue eyes which did make her believe she was related to Christopher.

Violet coughed a little and adjusted herself again as she replied to Selina,"No...not at all..." When Selina asked her what book she was reading she smiled saying eagerly pulling it out from behind her,"It's Fanatic Beasts and Where to Find Them! I was just skimming through it to find out some information I didn't know, that I need to know for Care of Magical Creatures!"

At her excitement Selina smiled. She could not wait for classes to start. Violet would be a riot in all of them and of course it was always nice to have one of your best friends in class with you.

"Don't you think it is a little early to be studying for classes?" Selina asked as she held tight to her copy of Quidditch literature that she had been reading before Elektra showed up. "I mean classes haven't even started yet."

Alice walked up to the front door of the library and sighed with relief. It had taken her a long time to find the library, hence all the post signs and what not. Alice opened the door and walked in carefully hoping not to trip and fall then embarrass herself. Inside there were probably more than a dozen shelves of books and tables, her eyes widen at the sight as she thought to herself "I can finally relax.".

"What should I read?" she thought as she looked the aisle. "Maybe study Transfiguration or Potions..." she mumbled to herself softly as she ran her finger through the spines of the books neatly placed on the shelves.

Elyon smiled brightly back at the girl, and she supressed a grin when she saw the look on Violet's face when she said she was Christopher's sister. "So Violet, I feel like I hardly know you! Tell me something unique about yourself!" Elyon kicked her bright blue chucks and danced around. She danced by herself a lot. She loved dancing, even if she wasn't very good at it. Elyon didn't care what anyone thought about her, she was just happy to be herself.

What brought her here, now that was a complicated subject. Well, maybe it wasn't that complicated, but it certainly felt like it. For a moment, Vashti wondered if she ought to even tell the girl, but then decided she would. It wasn't like a few other students didn't know about it anyway, and since she thought it was connected with the new security guy, this girl, as a fellow student and Ravenclaw, had a right to know about it. So Vashti pulled out the folded up Quibbler from inside her robes and unfolded it so the Ravenclaw could see what it was.

"This," she said. "They were on the train for some reason, and I bought one so I could research it later - or now. I've been looking for anything similar to it in history, where the Ministry sends someone to Hogwarts like they have now with that security guy, and I've been looking for things on the Statute." She pointed to the "Obliviated Muggles" article where the Statute was mentioned. She knew what it was, but she wanted to know more about it, hopefully to better understand why it had upset Kurumi so much that day on the trian.

Oh, her name? "I can't remember what it means right now," she admitted, "but my parents got it from a time when they were studying Persian history. There was a queen who was named Vashti." And apparently both of them liked it enough to name her that, whatever it meant. "Nice to meet you. I'm a fourth year too," she replied with a smile. It would be easy to remember this girl's name, she thought, since she also knew another Ellie who was also a Ravenclaw but was a third year. It would just be hard to differentiate between the two if one of them was mentioned in a conversation though.

Selina walked through the aisles looking for information of the Cult that Ikenna Gervik was part of. Something about that man was off to her. She knew what governmental intervention meant... a problem. The Ministry was up to something and not a good something.

As she passed through the aisles a book fell to the ground in front of her. Picking up the dusty book it read "The History of Harry Potter". She had been read the abridged version when she was younger, but all of the details of his life had always been as sugar coated as death could.

Opening the book it fell on the chapter- Dolores Umbridge: The Ministry Intervener . Success! She knew that she sounded similar to Ikenna and she was just about to find out how similar.

Wow. When Ellie asked why Vashti was in the library, naturally she expected the usual answer: to study. She was a little surprised her fellow Ravenclaw pulled out a Quibbler and described in detail about the Ministry guy at Hogwarts and the Statute.

Ellie furrowed her eyebrows. "The Statute of Secrety? But what would Ikenna have to do with that? It's not like we students are going to Hogsmeade and apparating to the muggle world to tell them about us. Plus, the Ministry would know if we did that." She said. "I think I've heard of Hogwarts having Ministry interference before, though..." She said, deep in thought. Hmm, maybe? "Have you found anything then?" She asked, quite intrigued with Vashti's ideas.

Ellie chuckled. "Well that's cool. Named after a Persian Queen, huh?" Pff, she was just... Ellie. Plain, ol' Ellie. Named after no one. Another fourth year! "Awesome! It seems all I run into are third years nowadays." She noted.

Vashti shook her head slightly. "I don't mean that that Ikenna guy has anything to do with us breaking the Statute. I just wanted to look it up because it upset a friend who also found the Quibbler on the train, so I thought I'd research more of the history around it and see if I can get a better understanding of it and why it might upset someone," she clarified. She then paused when Ellie mentioned having heard of the Ministry interfering before, and she went into deep thought for a moment or two as well, wondering how often it was that the Ministry came to Hogwarts like this. Then Ellie was asking another question. Vashti shook her head. "Not yet. I only just came to the library a few minutes ago." And then she'd bumped into Ellie, so...yeah, nothing found so far.

Vashti shrugged. "I guess." It wasn't all that cool to her, but then, it was her name, and most people didn't think their name was cool. She had to laugh a little at Ellie's next comment though. "I know what you mean, except I feel like I meet someone from every year but fourth." And she really did. Everyone she meet was always older or younger than her. It was like her fellow fourteen-year-olds were avoiding her or something.

Alice had been so busy with lessons she hadn’t even had a chance to explore the library yet! But today was not about exploration either, she had her first Divination class tomorrow and she needed to swot up. It was the only subject she had really ignored, personally she didn’t think much of it as a form of magic but she was always up for learning new things.
