Before she would go through her usual morning ritual, she decided it best to have a small breakfast, and though she normally didn't eat in the great hall, let alone at the Griffindor table, but maybe she would get to see a certain someone before they meet up with everyone else in the entrance hall.

Letting out a silent yawn with a lazy stretch, she slouched onto the bench and charmed the orange juice to pour her a glass.

"You know it's an early morning when the wand does all the lifting." Amusement was clear in Sabel's voice as he moved up behind his Hufflepuff and gave her a light kiss on the top of the head. "You look like you just crawled out of bed after wrestling with your pillow for some extra shut eye."

Sliding onto the bench beside her, he set his plate down in front of him before rolling the sleeves of his sweater back down his arms, covering the bandaging on his right. His eyes went to the floating juice first before settling back on Arya with a grin. "Pillow win?"

The smile that crossed her face was instantaneous when she heard the familiar voice she'd been hoping to hear, growing at the light kiss she received in greeting. "Something like that." Her eyes moved from the charmed juice to her Griffindor.

She hadn't immediately spotted the bandage, not until he pulled his sleeve over his arm. "Actually Perseus won, I think he's still sleeping on my pillow." Her smile faltered and she used her free hand to tug on his sleeve that was covering the bandage. "What happened to you?"

"A right...the cat. I'm not sure which is the more bothersome in the early morning; them or alarm clocks." So far, tally of incidence was winning in favor of the feline.

The grin he had been sporting wavered as soon as she tugged on his sleeve. Not exactly the best lead in to a morning's conversation. "Just an accident." Reaching over he covered her hand with his free one, giving her a small smile and gently keeping her from pulling up his sleeve any further. "I'm fine." He really didn't want her to be worrying about him.

She was pretty sure it was cats since she didn't have an alarm clock in her dorm room, Perseus served as one so much that she didn't need to bother with getting one that would work on school grounds.

It didn't look like just an accident to her, it looked like something more. "What kind of accident has you bandaged up like this?" She gave up trying to see the rest of his arm when he placed his hand over hers, eye filled with concern with they settled on his green ones. "Are you really fine, or just saying that for my benefit?" Because if it was the latter, it was too late for that, she was already worried.

As soon as her eyes were on him, he knew that he had lost whatever battle he had been trying to win. Sighing, he let his hand slip away from hers, giving her free access once again to his sleeve. He couldn't keep anything from her, could he? Perhaps it was for the best.

"I...knocked over a Lava potion by accident." It really had been an accident. "Got a fair bit on me." A shrug of his shoulders had him looking back up at her, searching her eyes with honesty. "I'm really okay. Professor Lafay was there and circumvented the worst of the damage. It's just taking a bit to heal, that's all."

As soon as his hand slipped away she her own back over his sleeve, carefully pushing it back as she examined the bandaged arm. So many questions filled her head with his response, like what he was doing around a potion that could cause such harm, but she refrained from asking them at first when she heard his next words. "Lafay helped you?" Maybe the woman wasn't so bad. Maybe. "How long will it take?"

Suddenly, the worst part about all of this wasn't the burn itself, but the worry it incurred in Arya. "She did." A good thing too, otherwise he probably wouldn't be sitting so calmly with Arya's fingers brushing over his arm. It stung a little, but nothing in comparison to how it had first felt. These of course, were details that weren't extremely important to disclose. "She said it would probably take about a month to heal completely."

A month was such a long time, she couldn't stop the faint frown that crossed her expression. Letting her fingers brush over the bandage, she kept silent for a moment longer, getting lost in her thoughts and worries before glancing up at him. "What- " She wanted to know what he was doing that gave him such an injury, but refrained, because she wasn't sure she'd like the response. Instead she intertwined her fingers with his and sent the pitcher of orange juice to his glass.

And there went the happy-go-lucky attitude of the morning. With a sigh, he laced his fingers with hers, watching the juice float over. He'd never get used to it, using magic at the dinning table.

For a moment he was silent, worrying the corner of his bottom lip in contemplation. "I went to Lafay's office to drop a report off." He may as well give her the whole story. "Her door was unlocked and she wasn't in. I didn't try the door handle mind you, I knocked and it kinda clicked open." He wasn't one for breaking and entering. "I put it on her desk, figured that she'd be arching her eyebrows at a report suddenly appearing on that once clear space, so I decided to write a note. Ended up knocking the potion over after getting startled by a rather loud noise down the hall." As he had said; an accident. Next time he would settle for sliding the report under the door.

She listened to his story silently, not really surprised at to how it happened. Sabel was always easy to startle, but she did wish that he didn't go wondering into Lafay's office. She'd take any office except hers. "At least it wasn't something worse." And there were worst potions out there, that he could have knocked over. Not that she knew what potion this was that had him bandaged for a month. Eyes averting to his, a small smile twitched at the corners of her lips. "And at least your fine." That was all she really cared about.

There it was, the smile. It nurtured his own smile back to health and he leaned forward to rest his forehead against hers. "I am fine." More than fine considering he got to share breakfast with her. "And thank you, for being concerned." Because while he didn't like her worrying over him, as he was sure she didn't like him worrying over her, it was nice to know she cared.

She lightly rubbed her nose against his when he rested his forehead on her own. "I'm always concerned." He knew that. And now that she wasn't as worried about his arm as she had been before, they could talk about other things happening today. "Can't wait for the party in Diagon today."

"Hn. Maybe I'll have to pull out one of my distractions." Serious, Arya. There was a bucket of them. Not that he really thought either of them would mind.

That distraction that she offered however, wasn't one he had in his arsenal nor had he been expecting it. A brief frown slipped across his expression before he turned it to focusing on retrieving some fruit for them. "It's...an interesting invite...."

Arya arched an eyebrow playfully. "Really? I like distractions.." Really she did. Especially if they were anything like the ones she had. Tugging on the bottom of her night shirt, she let her smile turn to a grin at the thought.

That wasn't the reaction she'd been expecting from him, not at all. "It is....and it should be fun I think." If it wasn't she could certainly make it fun for them. Maybe that was the reason why she wasn't stressing the reason for them both being invited to a party for a man neither of them knew, because he would be there.

He really couldn't say he agreed with her just yet about the party being fun. Normally, parties were supposed to be fun. Normally, he would agree with her. If there weren't so many unconnected dots. Or rather, dots connected by invisible lines. Sometimes, he hated being a kid and a student.

Either way, he didn't want to dash Arya's hopes or excitement. He did hope it would be everything she hoped for and that it would be a party without the normal Hogwart magnet for trouble. Drawing a croissant onto his plate, he spared Arya a smile and small nod. "It should be." Truth. And may as well steal a quick kiss, for the distraction he forgot to give her.

She found herself grinning even more at the distraction, and stole another kiss because... they wouldn't be able to have all these distractions when they were at the party would they? Not with the professors around or at a formal party. Nope, they were representing Hogwarts, had to be on their best behavior.

Reaching across the table, she picked up the plate of scrambled eggs and started to spoon some on her plate.

Most of his worries were forgotten by the second kiss. Once again, the morning was bright and the mood light. The distractions definitely worked.

For the next few minutes, he spent more time watching Arya gather up her food than getting or eating his own.

It was a few minutes after she'd piled food onto her plate that she realized Sabel was watching her and not focused on his own food. Giggling lightly at him, she turned her head to meet his eyes. "You'll miss all the good food if you keep watching me."

One eyebrow arched high on his forehead in amusement. "You are going to eat all the good food?" Wide eyed, he blinked up and down the Gryffindor table and then twisted and turned in his seat in an exaggerated motion to look at the other house tables.

When he finally turned back to Arya, there was an incredulous expression on his face, his hand reaching out to poke her gently in the stomach. "Do you have two hollow legs I don't know about?"

Chuckling, Sabel withdrew his hand and directed it to fill his bowl with some yogurt. "I know you have too, but are they hollow?" "They are as hollow as yours, Mr. Dakest." Which was her way of saying no. Picking up her fork, she picked at her eggs, a grin spreading across her face. "Your are a distraction as well. Guess we should both work on not being so distracting." That was easier said than done.

Well that was a fair point. His legs definitely weren't hollow.

Picking up his fork, he turned it in his hand a few times, grinning widely at Arya. "Like that is going to happen." Poking a piece of fruit, he tilted his head to the opposite side. "And as I recall, you just said you liked distractions."

Well that was true. She did like distractions... a lot. Grinning sheepishly, she shrugged her shoulders. "I do like them, but maybe the distractions are too distracting." She picked at her eggs again. "At least to you they are. I have total control of my distractions." Riiiiiight.

Alice stood up and followed Lexi out of the Great Hall.

Lexi nodded in understanding or something like that before taking the girl's hand and tugging her along away from the table. "Yes, we must take you to meet Madame Donovan. She is amazing.
