Her eyebrows went up at what he said next. Melanie was loosing her patience. First he discredited her helpfulness, then he tried to get her to feed him a sandwich, and now he wanted her to put mayonnaise on it?! What? "...I think I'm going to leave now." Before she hit him.... Or threw the mayonnaise jar at him. They both seemed like promising options at the moment. Grabbing a sandwich identical to Braeden's half chewed one from the Gryffindor table, Melanie stood to her feet. |
omg, sorry XD didn't realise you'd posted Quote:

Before the boy could even say another word, Melanie was announcing she would be leaving, taking a sandwich with her and getting to her feet. What?! Braeden's brown eyes went wide as saucers as he watched her get up. "What-- Aw c'mon, Mel! You're not seriously upset, are you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow slightly at the girl. "I… I'll eat my own sandwich," he gave in with a sigh. He wasn't sure why he felt so obliged to not let her go at that moment, since it didn't really make that much of a difference to his dinner if she was there or not, but… well, he just felt bad letting her go being all mad and annoyed with him. Even Braeden had a conscience. |

Melanie made a face. He was asking her if she was upset? Did she look like she was kidding? And did he honestly want her to answer that question...? Melanie sighed grumpily, staring at him thoughtfully, before turning on her heel and responding. "I am upset! I'm upset with you!" Mhmm, yes, all his fault. "You- you can't just act-" Melanie flailed visibly, as she searched for the word... "-normal! You have to make strange requests and eat like a pig and choke yourself!" she complained, frowning slightly. "And the worst part is I can't even be properly angry, because it's all unintentional! Or at least I think it is!" she concluded, flopping down resignedly on the bench next to Braeden once more. She rested her head in her fist, and staring up at the sky for a moment, before taking a bit of the sandwich she'd nabbed off the table earlier, before attempting to make a dramatic exit. Yes. Melanie was avoiding eye contact, after that little outburst. |

Pulling his Arithmancy Text book from his bag, as well as his paper and ink, he found the page and then turned to Jake. "So we ask a question, shake the sticks till one falls out, then see what the number on the stick means in the text book, and from that get our answer!" Sounded easy, and kinda fun. "You want to go first?" He asked, before adding, "Oh Yeah, I am Patroclus by the way...." |
Quote:
He watched as Melanie then sat down on the bench still looking rather annoyed, and wasn't really sure what to say. Well… if he annoyed her too much, he didn't want to force her to be around him. But… well, he liked being around her. She was cool. When she wasn't biting his head off. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I don't really do any of that to purposely tick you off," said the boy, eyeing Melanie warily, as if she were a caged animal threatening to jump at him any second. "And… I will try not to choke on my food from now. Or… make strange requests," he promised. He could do that, right? Right.... |

When Patroclus explained it, it sounded a whole LOT easier. Why didn't Hadley just say that?! Oh. She had. ... well then. "Okay, so..." Jake got out his set of sticks and started shaking them... but there was something else. "Do you reckon asking how I'll cope with leaving school is a good one? Or is that too vague? I mean... it doesn't seem like specific questions work..." ShakeshakeSHAKE. Oh, and introductions. "Jake." That would do. |
Rolled the dice! Quote:
"I think that would be fine...." Patroclus agreed in the affimative as he quickly scanned through some pages of the text book, before looking up at the Puffer, "After the text is not going to have a direct specific anwser, So I think general questions will work best." As Jake shock the set, a single stick popped out, which the LionBoy took into his hands and, "Number 4." Finding the right pages, he ventured an answer, "So the Number 4 means Building, formation, hard work, endurance, sober-mindedness......practicality," he rattled off. Now came the divining partner. "From that I get that you will use this last year of edcation, to not only build on your magica knowledge but use it as a chance to conslidate all the previous years, Obviously, 'Hard Work' means that the work load will be tough...or that you will a hard worker......" that was spliting hairs, but still it was good to give all sides of the spectrum. "On a deeper level, Four means stabilty, which I would read as you will have a good year, sustaining a nice course mark average over all your classes a good foundation for future studies perhaps, but could also mean that the decisions you make this year will allow for a stable lifestyle in your future, perhaps a new interest will spark a career decision that will be a life long one........I don't know, I am not sure if I am doing this right." Patroclus thought it sounded right, but sounding right, was different to being right..... "Think that's good?" |
lol, i need a dice XD *goes to find a dice site* hehe Quote:
He listened to the interpretation and thought. Heh. He really wasn't sure about all of this number stuff... never really had been. But it was homework. Had to be done. "Sounds good to me," Jake shrugged, and scribbled something down on the back of his assignment parchment and stuff, for a record. "Your turn?" This would be fun... but more 'reliable' or 'valid' since he didn't know Patroclus. At ALL. Time to see if the subconscious played a part in things or if it really WAS real magic. HMMMM. |

Happy that Jake was Happy, Patroclus picked up his own set and asked his question, "Will this year be a good year for me......romantically wise" he sorta mumbled the last bit, after all he and Jake were not exactly secret sharing bosom buddies, in fact this was the most contact they had ever shared. With the question asked, he shook the box, and pulled out a stick and handed it to Jake, "There you go," the boy was actually a little nervous. |

"Its just the truth",Fee smiled. Her best friend was really special and he should know it.No matter how often the blonde had to tell him."Ohhh just send me an owl when you are at Jasons then?",the Slytherin asked," i dont want to miss you for too longl"Gooood, that sounded so selfish but really too long without him and she would go crazy. The second year chuckled when she saw the happiness on her best friends face."Awww dont think about the past",she hugged him,"what counts is now." |

As he spoke, Melanie slowly lowered her eyes to look at him, rather than at the ceiling. Then, after a moment of hesitation, she nodded. "Okay... And I promise to be more patient, if that helps... Sorry, Braeden." the girl apologized slowly, noticing his wariness with a renewed sense of guilt. Ugh. She truly hated that feeling. "So, uhmmm..." Melanie felt it was time for a subject change. "I haven't talked to you since Flourish and Blotts." |

Anyone wanna RP? Selina yawned and covered her mouth so the people around her would not see the inner plumping of Selina Skylar's mouth. It was the weekends that Selina adored. The days when she could wake up at nine o'clock in the morning and go flying all day without a care in the world. But today was not a weekend. It was currently seven o'clock in the morning and she had Potions first thing at eight o'clock. That class was not how she wanted to start her morning. So the little redheaded first year pulled her hair back in a pony tail and sat at her table in the Great Hall. She loaded up on food because of Quidditch practice mid-day. She had to make sure she was ready. Being one of the only two first years on the team had a lot to live up to. |

The boy had to hold back the urge to tease her about it; he knew if he did she would really be leaving this time and there would be no getting back on her good side. "Oh yeah, since that fateful meeting with Demon Book…" said Braeden with a soft chuckle as he remembered the first time he'd met Melanie. Good times. No, not really… his Care of Magical Creatures had nearly killed him! "It's great, the term's been pretty good so far, what about you?" asked the boy as he took a small bite from his sandwich. He chewed slowly, trying to keep the promise he'd just made a minute ago. Two minutes later, he was able to speak again, "Oh no… I don't think people were quite understanding the fashion behind it; they kept giving me coins!" said Braeden with a puzzled expression on his face. What he didn't understand, was that people were taking him for a beggar, due to his torn-apart attire. "Though I suppose I shouldn't complain, I was able to get a new pair of trousers thanks to their generous donations," he said with a lopsided grin. |

When he mentioned Potions Selina said, "No, not even for a minute. I'm terrible at it." |

"I hope you will",Fee nodded,"otherewise i am gonna send you a million owls."She would totally annoy him if he forget about her. That just wasnt good and the blonde would do anything to not let it happen."It is",the slytherin nodded," what counts is that she makes you happy and you love her."Rene was the right girl for her best friend and it was good thst they had found eachother. "Nope he isnt but i am still cheering",Fee smiled. |

Looking up, Jake took the stick with a small smile of thanks, and frowned down at the chapters again. "Uhhh... okay, so... you got number 5... uhhh..." AH-HA! Jake felt stupid... it was RIGHT at the front of the book, too. "Okay, so... meanings are change, transition, progressive thinking, resourceful, freedom, versatility..." the young man trailed off, looking up at Patroclus with a clueless expression. "What the bloody hell does that have to do with anything?" UGH! This called for thinking. "I guess... I guess it means that however things are going now... it'll change. So if it's terrible for you, you're in for some luck. OOH! Progressive thinking and resourcefulness! That's obviously like... think forward and all that and work with what you got and you will have a GOOD year. Heh, romantically wise... stupid book makes no sense," Jake mumbled, looking at the meanings again. "Uhm, freedom might mean... you will be in a relationship where you feel like you want to be in it... or it could mean one of those weird open relationships." Was he being too specific? Probably. "Maybe the versatility means many love interests-" Jake did the eyebrows here :eyebrows: "-or many opportunities. OR that your year will be good... as WELL as romance." Jake slammed the text shut and smiled at Patroclus. That wasn't awkward at all! For him... |
