Alex smiled as she tried to do the same. Nervously she lifted her wand. " Re-...ver..toe". Nothing happened, what an iddiot she thought. She tapped her wand against it again and repeated " Reverto". She watched as the small saucer had changed back into her locket. Holding it, she smiled and watched the rest of the class do there spells.

Destiny jumped a little when Evelyn started wiggling that thing in her face. Was that a snake!? It better not have been. "Ha ha." she said, stinking her tongue out at her friend. Just wait. When this stuffed butterfly turns back into the brooch, Evelyn was going to get a face full of ugly.
Snickering as the Professor 'tutted' Evelyn, she propped her stuffed butterfly on her desk. Perhaps if it was sitting up straight the reverto spell would work better. She thought about the brooch in all it's ugly glory and flourished her wand. "Reverto!!" she said a little louder than last time. She leaned in close and it looked like it was going to transfigure back into the brooch! The gems started to show and it was shrinking!
Shrink.
Shrink.
Shriiiiiink.
And then it stopped.
Blinking a few times, she picked up the brooch. It seemed like it was back to normal! Every gem was in place, and the missing one was still missing. The size seemed right, as did the colors.
Except..
..it was still FLUFFY!

And then class started, so she quickly took out her quill and ink bottle, ready to take notes.
But Merlin, she was so slow on note-taking today. Maybe it was her hand's way of protesting all those notes she'd taken in the other classes, particularly Muggle Studies. Well her hand needed to get over it! She had notes to take!
She would have liked to participate in the discussion, but she was busy jotting down what was said during that time (mostly to protest her hand's protest), so she had no time to say anything. And then there were more actual notes to be taken on the board, so she wrote those down, and her hand was cramping slightly by that point, so she paused for a begin writing down the properties of her bouncy ball personal item. But then the professor wanted their attention again so she set her quill down, secretly glad for an excuse to stop writing, and watched his demonstration. Then she quickly finished writing down the properties of her item:
And finally she was done writing, at least for the moment. She raised her hand so that the professor would know she was ready for him to transfigure her object. Noticing the girl's raised hand, Professor Kingsley smiled. With a tap, her bouncy ball had become a snowglobe. Quote:

Reverto! she said again, but a little louder and yet again, nothing happened. What am I doing wrong? she asked herself. Maybe I'm flourishing too much. She thought about it again. Or maybe I'm not thinking of the object it was before! she figured out. Once more, she pointed her wand at the ribbon and took a deep breath. She concentrated on the broken bottle she pulled from the box and concentrated on transforming the ribbon back to that item. Reverto! she said, flourishing her wand lightly while continuing to concentrate on the broken ink bottle.
The ribbon shimmered and started to turn black, but the ends turned into broken bottle ends while the middle remained as a ribbon. Then it returned to being a ribbon. Lysandra smiled. Well, it's a start. she thought. With a nod, Professor Kingsley checked in on the girl. "You're letting go of your concentration just a little too early," he said as he passed her desk. Hopefully he'd accept the gift of cupcakes cuz uh, that was half the homework assignment right there. And who didn't like #cupcakes, right?!

Alex nodded at the Professor, She had copied it excatly as the Professor said it. She glanced at her now belt and flourished her wand chanting, "Reverto!" thinking of the black belt turning back into her silver pedant. The belt shifted quickly the black was now silver with a pentagram peeking out. Alex raised her eyebrows it had taken her three times last time and she almost got it the first this time. She pictured the diamonds, the twistyness of her pendant before casting, "Reverto" again this time it changed all the way back into her pendant. She smiled brightly lifting it up to eye level examing it. She nodded smiling it was the same as she brought it in. She loved Transfiguration.

Cadence practically beamed up at the professor as he complimented her work. Being good at transfiguration was probably one of the skills that Cadence prided herself on most highly. It was, literally, a mind over matter sort of magic. And then he said a word that caused Cadi's eyes to go wide... nonverbal. "P-professor," she said, feeling a bit nervous inside. "I've never done a non-verbal transfiguration before. I've only ever done basic charm work nonverbally. I mean... do you think I can do it? I'll try, if you want me to, but perhaps you shouldn't turn it into a live creature while I'm trying?" she said, obviously feeling a lot less confident about her transfiguration abilities now.

Snickering at Destiny, and taking a quick glance at the Professor since she did in fact hear that little 'tut' coming from him, Evelyn placed her limp bracelet back down on her desk and held her wand up again.
Surely one more spell would make the bracelet go back to normal right? It was worth a try. Trying to imagine the hard bracelet in her hands, it's shape, and the feel of it, Evelyn closed her eyes once more and muttered another confident and clear "Reverto" with the same light swish of her wand.
Opening her eyes, she saw just in time, the end process of the bracelet going back to it's original structure. Finally, she did it. On the second try too. And we could alllll just overlook that little fact and pretend she did it on the first try. Smiling and placing her wand down on her desk, she moved to pick up the bracelet and to put it on. However, when she tried, the bracelet bent.
Seriously? It wasn't back to normal yet? Being made from silver, and not plastic, it shouldn't have bent so easily like that. Ugh. ONE MORE TIME! "Reverto!" she exclaimed, another swish of her wand and putting all her intent in the spell to make her bracelet go back to normal. Seeing the bracelet right itself out, it rock back and forth for a moment before falling to its side and laying still.
Was it fixed? Third time the charm right? Hesitantly, she picked up the bracelet and tried to bend it slightly. No, it didn't budge and centimeter. Smirking, she placed it on her wrist. Perfect! "Professor, may I try once more?" she asked, taking the bracelet off and placing it back down on her desk.

Certainly not edible. Awww what, he just HAD to change the cute lil cupcake into.... into.... into......
"What in the name of Merlin's great fluffy white beard is that abomination?!" the boy declared quite loudly. His nose wrinkled in a combination of disgust and confusion at the quite.... bright, yellow, and softly squeaking round pygmy puff.
He tilted his head and slowly reached one long finger out toward the creature, tickling it softly under the... chin? "Heheheh," Fletcher chuckled as the pygmy puff slowly rocked to and fro and seemed to purr happily. It was kind of cute if you squinted and held your head at just the right angle. Geez. Did people actually like, buy these things for pets?!
Regardless, Fletcher had to change it back to his cupcake now, after jotting down a few notes of course. Quote: What is the item: A little furry... pgymy puff? Size: Like a really really big ball of yellow yarn. Shape: Round. Really round. Er, spherical. Texture: Soft, furry and fluffy. Colour: Bright canary yellow. Weight: Erm, not sure? Light? Fluffy? Defining markings: It has a pink tongue and two tiny black eyes you can barely see.

Destiny was not used to doing these spells over and over. Usually it takes her only twice to get the spell right. Her wand must be broken, it had to be.
Giving the wand in her hand a little shake, she once again imagined the ugly brooch that was once on her desk. Ugly brooch, ugly brooch. she repeated in her mind. Nodding to herself, she gave her wand a flourish, "Reverto!!!!" she said, then decided to close her eyes. If it wasn't a brooch by the time her eyes opened, she was going to chuck the fluffy thing across the room.
1, 2, 3! Eyes open!
She moved her eyes slowly down. And what she saw was HIDEOUS! So hideous that she once again closed her eyes.
Her brooch was back.

There, right in front of her, sat a broken ink bottle, transformed into a ribbon and then back to its original shape. |

Rae was nervous and excited to transfigure her item. If she did this right on the first try then that would mean the world to her. Maybe she could actually have a future, maybe one day she can own a house, own a bed. That would be nice to have somewhere to sleep everynight. This year, this class, this spell, made her future. It would let her know if she could really have something...

One of these things would stroll out onto the path, forcing him to veer off into the bush and emerge covered in burrs.
He looked up at Kingsley, wondering if the man had been talking to Sabel or Raiden. How had he known that Kellen disliked, no, detested these things? And now it was eating his quill, its little rodent jaws moving back and forth and its beady eyes staring at him. Why couldn't it have been a hedgehog? Why'd it have to be a hedgehog's overgrown, ugly cousin? "Baaaaah," he didn't even know where to start. Hesitant fingers reached for his quill, but the porcupine tensed and hissed a little. Kellen snatched his hand back, glaring at it. And Kingsley wanted this done non-verbally?
His eyes went to the spikes on its back. Well! Those were the teeth of the comb, if ever he saw them. And well, he supposed the nose was something like one of the rounded ends, and the tail must be the other one. In fact, if he'd set the comb teeth-up, it would kind of resemble this spiky monstrosity. He didn't see the logo for the comb, and was willing to bet it was on the porcupine's belly. Where it would remain, unlooked for. Because... that would be a death sentence.
Kellen ran his hands over his wand, giving the porcupine a final look-over, then concentrated on the comb. What it had been. How the porcupine would have to change to become what it was. Reverto! He thought to himself, hoping that if it didn't work, at least it would take away the spines the first...
Oh hey! Kellen watched as the porcupine's spines stood straight up, then the creature began to shrink. Its nose and tail tucked under it, the spines grew together, and soon he was looking at his comb again. He poked it with a finger, but there was nothing alive about it now.
Kellen raised his hand, feeling pretty good about himself, "Professor? Could I try another one?" Because hey, it's not like he'd get a porcupine again, right? |

Be as descriptive as possible. It will help, later." Oh, she could do that. Size :: 9 x 11 cm
Shape :: Lion-shaped. Lion-like?

So, now to TRANSFIGURATE!
Jimbo put his quill down and took out his wand. He held it pointed to the tea kettle and concentrated on turning it back into the tiny little toy soldier he had brought in. He pictured the soldier's tiny-ness and green-ness and soldier-ness as he moved his wand the right way and said, "Reverto!"
He was looking at a tea kettle.
Okay...
Again.
He moved his wand again as he pictured the toy soldier. "Re-VERT-oe!"
Nothing. Damn. He thought about what he might have done wrong while he was casting. Maybe the wrong wand movement? No, no, he did that right. He was sure of it. Sighing, he managed to overhear the conversation Iris was having with the Professor. She seemed to be having more success than him so he payed attention as she cast her spell.
Ah...he was pronouncing it wrong. That explains it. He turned back the the tea kettle and imagined the tiny soldier. He did the proper wand movement once more and made sure he got his pronunciation right this time. "Rever-TOE!"
He looked at the tiny soldier in front of him and grinned. He'd done it! Muaha! Oh, but wait. Before getting overexcited, there was always something wrong. He put down his wand and held the toy soldier right to his face so he could examine it closely. Besides the fact that it's perfect green colour had faded a bit, there really seemed to be no difference- TWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! "OWWW!" He yelled, dropping the toy and covering his ears. Fumbling, he grabbed his wand as the noise went on, consuming the room. Pointing his wand at the soldier on the ground, he said, "Silencio!" and it went quiet.
Well, that obviously didn't work. But now that he'd made it go quiet, surely it counted as a full untransfiguration?

:: Ehgad took a few deep breaths and opened his eyes. He flourished his wand at the drumstick.
"reverto!" He emphasized just like the Professor wanted and he pictured his broken quill.
The transformation was almost complete except for the tip was still wooden.
Ehgad was surprised at himself. "That was a great shot. Maybe I should consider this for a career?" He muttered while ruffling his dark hair.
His hand shot up, "Professor! Look! I almost got it! Look!" He held up the mostly transformed quill proudly. He beamed and nearly stood up to show the entire class. ::

I've only ever done basic charm work nonverbally. I mean... do you think I can do it? I'll try, if you want me to, but perhaps you shouldn't turn it into a live creature while I'm trying?" she said, obviously feeling a lot less confident about her transfiguration abilities now. Professor Kingsley nodded. "Ok. If you're apprehensive, then we'll start with something inanimate for your nonverbals. But the important part is that you think you can do it." He gave her a kind smile before tapping her bracelet again.

Selena sighed and tried again. 'Your scarf was larger than this bone, your scarf was like, three feet long, this is five inches!' Selena thought as she focused on it. "Reverto!" Selena said. Yay!!
Professor Kingsley was encouraged by her persistence. "Well done. The more you practice, the closer to instant the transformation will be."
Another tap, and this time her bracelet became a hulahoop. Quote:

1, 2, 3! Eyes open!

Her brooch was back. Preston smiled at the girl's success, though he took notice of the closed eyes, wondering if that was helping her concentrate. Quote:

First it turned completely black. Then it started to harden and shift into a cup like shape until it was as hard as glass and had the shine like glass did. There, right in front of her, sat a broken ink bottle, transformed into a ribbon and then back to its original shape. Preston noted another success quite happily. Quote:

Tapping the comb again, it was transfigured into a peacock. That would prove more difficult, given the brilliant array of colors. Quote:

Alex shrugged at the more question sounding then a response. She glanced through her notes writting down everything she had transfigured back into her necklace. The Dinner Plate and Belt writting it the same way she had her necklace before checking through it again and again.

Aww... he was a nice professor. Cadence liked this one. She certainly hoped he didn't almost die or get chased away or disappear. Yeaah...
Looking at the scarf, she thought this would be pretty easy. A scarf was quite a bit like a bracelet, yes? Without trying very hard, she thought, "Reverto!" but nothing happened. Maybe this was going to be harder than she thought. Trying again, she concentrated really hard and.... "Reverto!"
yeaaah.... nothin.
Sighing, she put down her wand for a moment and skimmed her notes, looking for something that might help her. For some reason, she had heavily underlined the word Properties in her notes. Thinking hard, she tried to remember what he had said about properties. She had been the first to bring up the word, and he had praised her for that, but what else had he said? Something about imagining clearly the properties of your original object. Closing her eyes for a moment, she pictured her bracelet. She could see it clearly in her mind: the diagonal stripes made of knotted string...
Concentrating very, very hard on these properties, she thought, "Reverto!" And was very excited when her scarf began to transfigure! Except... it didn't shrink in size. The scarf remained the same size, but it was now a giant replica of her friendship bracelet.
Right. Raising her hand, she said, "Um... professor?"

Arya looked away from the frisbee in her hand back to Professor Kingsley, a small smile touching her lips. She LIKED this professor, she could tell he cared about his students and that made him a good professor in her book. Much better than that crazy Lafay. She nodded her head at Kingsley. "I can try it....and I don't need to talk," Need to want to, same difference. "But thank you, Professor. I'll remember your offer." It meant a lot to her his offer, and if she did decide to talk, he was most definantly on the list of people to talk to.
Turning from Kingsley she faced the frisbee and twirled it between both her hands, studying the frisbee. "Looks like a frisbee, but its still sun shades...." She mumbled to herself as she continued to study the frisbee. Placing it on the desk, she picked up her wand and taped it against her head for a moment, atempting to focus before giving it a wave, "Reverto!"
The frisbee didn't changed it's physical form. Arya taped her head with her wand again, as if trying to rid herself of the thoughts running through her mind. Frisbee to shades...frisbee to shades...frisbee to shades....

Another tap, and this time her bracelet became a hulahoop. Smiling sweetly, Evelyn nodded at what he said before looking down to what her bracelet was now...transfigured...into...
Why was she getting the ginormous things!? And, what in the world was it? A big...blue...plastic circle. She couldn't even begin to think of what this was used for. But she noted that it was hard, unlike the limp rope she had before. Which would probably make this easier to transform back into her bracelet.
Moving the blue plastic circle around on her desk, or at least trying to, she might as well hit some people in the head to the sides and in front of her desk... she finally just let it sit there, half on and half off. Okay. So, it was smooth, blue, plastic, hard, round, big, and in a circular shape.
Which then it needed to be transfigured to a small, coil shaped, engraved, silver snake. Well they both had the 'hard' part in common, even though the round circle thing was a bit squishier than her bracelet...but that was one less thing she had to really concentrate on.
Imagining and concentrating on the big round blue circle turning into her bracelet, Evelyn decided this time she should try the spell with her eyes open. "Reverto." she said, with another light swish of her wand. Her smile turned into a smirk as she noticed the blue round circle start to show signs of the engravings and color of her bracelet. And there...there was the snake's head! And the tail and... and the tail coiled like it was supposed to but...
It stopped then. Frowning, she waited for a few more moments to see if it was going to do anything else, but alas...nothing happened.
So now she was stuck with a bracelet the size for a baby giant. Fantastic. At least she got it to turn to silver on the first try this time. There was a plus. Now, just how was this desk holding up that weight...
